Gray food and coffee. Lovely surroundings. Very pleasant service. Would have been 5 star if not for smelly dogs at near table.

Having been last year and thought was amazing, was excited for my trip here again. However, I felt this time it just wasn’t as good. Whilst I couldn’t fault the breakfast itself, it seemed expensive for what it was- a cooked breakfast-£13.50. I felt it lacked that something special this time. No pancakes, no sharing platters like there had been last time. The little tarts that came with our coffee looked lovely but whatever cream had been used tasted awful. We were also sat next to a windowsill that quite frankly could have done with a clean, should be done daily!

Nice place cosmetically but the service and the menu need some attention. Despite only two items on the menu containing chicken they had run out.

This place is a great find! My daughter and I had brunch here today, and it’s a really nice place - very atmospheric. Food was perfect, and the service matched it - nice, friendly staff. I’ll be back very soon!

Lovely cafe. Very nice food and excellent service. The black pudding was particularly good. Quiet at 10.30 but busy by lunchtime.

A fairly new cafe in a new subdivision about 10-15 minutes from Culloden battlefield. It is open for brunch and closes mid afternoon. We arrived just after it stopped preparing food, but we were able to get coffee, tea, and pastries. The staff was friendly and the prices reasonable.

Just had another brilliant lunch at Hillhead Cafe in Tornagrain. A short drive from Inverness and with easy parking. The decor is contemporary, relaxed and classy. The staff are friendly, helpful and the service is excellent. The food is superb. So fresh, tasty and everything is homemade. The quality of the food is akin to what you would get in a top quality restaurant. You can tell that there is a highly skilled team in the kitchen. Definitely worth a visit. I'll be back again soon. Highly recommend.

I had seen that this new housing development now has a coffee shop and was keen to check it out. Lovely clean, modern and easily found, just off the A96 and close to the airport. Warmly welcomed by the two young waitresses. Menu’s brought over to us straight away and informed to order and pay at the counter. We ordered Cappachinos and Apricot & Cranberry Scones, with jam & butter. Lovely selection of scones, cakes and tray bakes. They also had a nice selection of breakfast items. Coffees were excellent, very hot and a good strength. Scones were also very good. You can have cream instead of butter with your scone. This is a lovely cafe. Quality shouts from the door. Toilets were immaculate. Maybe a bit more pricier than your usual cafe but everything that we saw looked worth it. Recommended, will definitely be back.

Had a superb lunch here, actually we were just in time for The Tornagrain, which is a full cooked breakfast. Freshly cooked and served on unusual triangular shaped plates. The cutlery was a gold colour. Worth a visit if on your way to the airport. Serving staff very attentive and kept the place immaculately clean.

Tried this today. It is very new in the area promoting the new town of Tornagrain. What a great idea having a coffee shop there. Very near the airport so you can call in and have some lovely home-baking at a very reasonable price. The opening hours are long weekend only so check their FB page before you go.

Popped in here recently on a trip through Wick to Dunnet Head - Got a cheese & tuna toastie and a latte which were both excellent. Owners were really friendly and the price reasonable considering the location - Have a feeling they could charge 2/3 times the price - being on the NC 500 - but choose not to. Will certainly return.

Very good food and typical Scottish decor. Service was very attentive and friendly. The chef knows his craft. The steak, for the non-fish eater, was a treat.

We went for takeaway before getting ferry to Stornoway. Ordered an egg roll and bacon and egg roll. On opening when we got to our car we could not believe how poor they looked. Toasted stake rolls, overdone fried eggs and overdone bacon. Will not go back to this cafe again!

Visited today and ordered 2 drinks and 2 steak pie dinners. Service was fine but we could not eat the food. The meat was inedible. We couldn't cut it never mind chew it. The young waiter returned it to the kitchen, returned to apologise and agrred with us. Then he said there will be no charge... ....... really. Why would we pay when we had no food. Left and went elsewhere.
