Great food & a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend eating here. The fish options are always delicious. Fairly priced as well.

So happy to write a glowing review for our meal tonight. Phillipe, our waiter, deserves a lot of credit for his professional and friendly service. The food was excellent, and those chips, oh, those chips. I doubt you'll have eaten anything like them...but will say no more except you have to go and try them. Beautifully cooked fish and lamb and lovely desserts. It was very busy and so it was loud, but to be fair, we were a party of 4 over 60's. We aren't in London often but would definitely go back.

We had our 2 years anniversary and the service was great from Lucy. They gave me complimentary wine and desert. What a great time here with good atmosphere.

First time dining here and what a find! Food was outstanding - the freshest fish, beautifully cooked and served quite simply with thoughtful (optional) sides. Wine selection good - we tried a Greek white wine which was beautiful. Service was also excellent - we were served by Cindy who both knew the fish selection very well and she was also very friendly without being intrusive. Only downside of this restaurant is our table (fixed seating and table) felt a little cramped. But if you avoid the tables at the top of the restaurant, you will be treated to an excellent view of the open kitchen with a brilliant team of chefs. Overall, highly recommended. And a note to those who don’t eat or like fish - there are plenty of non fish options on the menu, which changes daily depending on what is the freshest and in season. Just try here. You won’t regret it.

This was a delicious meal, very skilfully created from high quality ingredients. The meat (I had lamb, my husband had beef) was the best flavour and melt in the mouth texture that I have had for a while. And the tomato salad was so flavoursome. All brought to us in a relaxed and friendly style by the lovely staff. I can’t wait to go back.

We had an absolutely delightful evening at The Garrison. The food is excellent: fresh and great combinations of flavours. Beautifully presented too. The service is exceptional, particularly given how busy the restaurant is. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.

Really great food. Slight shame the kitchen ran out of a couple dishes by the time we ordered (about 8pm) as that’s because everything is fresh on the day I couldn’t complain! All the dishes our table (of 6) had were excellent. Also great vibe.

Cute little place which specialises in fish dishes although has a selection of meats too. Veg was particularly good, i had the cabbage with mackerel which was great Wine also a great choice. Only niggly thing about the whole experience was the small table we were sat at, there were larger table, booth style too but we prioritised being by the front windows

I booked the Garrison as I had gone for a meal a few years ago and it was sensational. This time I went with two friends and hoped it would be as good- I was not disappointed, food was super. The staff were warm and welcoming and it had an excellent vibe, my two friends loved it as well. My only slight disappointment was the frites - not really the image my friend and I had- maybe called something different.

Had a delightful business lunch. Fish and chips and a crab on sourdough with a couple of glasses of wine was perfect. Sunny day with the windows open, lovely ambiance and great staff. Couldn't have been better.

I met with my godfather who I haven't seen for a few years. Both of us commented on how good your food was and the staff were incredibly warm and attentive and were very accommodating letting me stay on to take a work call in the middle of the afternoon. Thank you so much for a very memorable and lovely lunch!

Love The Garrison. A relatively short menu that changes regularly but which never disappoints. Food is always fabulous. The service is friendly and usually efficient. Also, they know how to make a martini.

Had Sunday lunch with a friend, got a table downstairs in the cinema room, lovely little spot. Food and service were great, and we had lovely seats in the corner where we could both sit on the bench and look into the room. Loved it, definitely will be back!

This place is such a gem - I will definitely be returning. The sea bass was divine as were the side of beans and crushed jersey royals. One of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time. Delicious cocktails and a great atmosphere. Service was also on point. What a great place !!

The Sunday roasts were amazing, huge Yorkshire pudding & too much pork for me so my dog got a treat when I got home. 5 fish options on the specials board. Service was great. Staff really friendly. I will definitely return.

I had a great experience in this place. The food was excellent. I had the fish, and it was cooked perfectly, highly recommend.

We had a lovely evening, the ambiance was surprisingly good for a Monday night. We had some shared plates to start - we all agreed the arancini was superb. Three of us had the steak frites and one had the courgette main course, the presentation was good but personally I would have preferred shoestring fries that look a bit more like fries and less like potato shavings. We did get an order of chips (recommended by waiter) - these were chunky chips and consequently you only get three - they were delicious though. All in all a very enjoyable evening with everyone happy with their meal. The service was outstanding.

Favourite place in Bermondsey. Great food. The fish is always excellent, the hispi cabbage is to die for and the chunky chips are amazing. Start with the bread; you wont regret it. Delicious!

This resto is on a slightly expensive side but there was no dish that we didnt enjoy. It was our first time and we ordered several starters, and oh my! Arancini is too tiny but bursts in your mouth heavenly flavours and texture. Scallops, Asparagus, foccaccia, and liver parfait were all enjoyable. Too full for mains but that is for next time. Please do not ever change your Pavlova recipe, it is the best I ever had!

Awesome food and service. Not cheap but good quality. What did put me off were the cramped tables and the ambient noise levels. You could barely hear each other whilst trying to have a conversation. Shame really.

Very cosy place, tasty food, lovingly prepared to a high standard.

Excellent atmosphere, menu and food, reasonably priced in a stylish and fashionable area. Lots of items on the menu which I want to try so I will return to do do. Renovation has been tastefully done so the character of the old building has not been destroyed.

Came for a Saturday lunch after a great Sunday lunch. Wa all had fish for mains and no one was disappointed. All courses were equally enjoyable. Atmosphere was buzzing and overall it was a great afternoon and was great value. Highly recommended.

Attentive personal service, imaginative menu with interesting twists, a decent bottle of wine (Reserve du Gassac) at a price for which others give you nothing special, but the real treat is the open kitchen, watching real chefs doing proper cooking with fresh ingredients, rather like dining in an episode of "Masterchef", love it, bravo

Fantastic seafood & cabbage starter lovely environment but unfortunately we couldn’t have desert due to tight booking windows and the pub been very busy on a Thursday evening. Would totally go back though!

Very attentive and accommodating to special request for one of our party who has mobility issues. Our second time here for Sunday lunch but will not be our last. Can’t fault the food or service. Slightly pricey options for starters but all absolutely worth the price. Best roast ever.

Our party was celebrating a belated 60th birthday. We were not expecting the complimentary glass of bubbles and that was a very nice touch and start to our lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. Will definitely go back again.

It was my birthday and I wanted a nice casual lunch with my family and that's what we got and more. The staff were lovely explained all the dishes to us and showed us the fresh fish befor we made our order. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed the whole experience and will be returning .Thank you for making my day !

Excellent quality food in small, stripped back gastro pub. We enjoyed excellent service, with the fresh fish displayed at table and the rest of the menu well explained, with recommendations, including for drink pairings.

The service was good and the venue was even better than the last time I visited. The food was excellent too.

The food and service here was phenomenal. We waited for friends to arrive for our table of 6 for over 40 minutes and they were so patient. The drinks were strong, the restaurant vibes were bright, quaint, and airy. It had a modest pub feel with elevated, fresh menu selections. Would highly recommend!

Excellent fish dishes. Well prepared and good presentation. Only criticisms were that the main course were presented to us quite soon after we had finished our starters, and the delicious chipped potatoes were delayed after the main courses were served.

Re-visited Garrison for the first time for a while-as good as ever. Great chicken and champagne pie and then chocolate pavlova. We’ll be back

We had such a lovely time. The place is as lovely as ever, everyone was so kind and the food was DELICIOUS.

Everything was really great. Came for dinner with myself and 3 others for an evening catch up on a Friday. The service, drinks and food were all excellent, I would definitely recommend The Garrison.

The food was fine, but the level of service was abismal. It was a busy sunday and the staff clearly did not want to be there. It took almost 30 minutes to even try and place our order, and then a further 49 minutes for our food to arrive. Initially, the manager (I assume?) went through the menu with me as to what I could have, and I was satisfied with ordering a dish he recommended (due to having a few allergies). Once we could finally order 20 minutes later, I was told that dish had run out and “yeah it has done for quite a while”. Ended up with something else which was fine (roast potatoes tasted like they had been massively over cooked and then sat in the kitchen for quite a while). The girl who brought our food over barely said a word and just stood there with our plates staring at us until we asked which playes were which and then she set them down. Other waitress who served us seemed as though us asking for tap water was a huge inconvenience (it was a very hot day and a member of our party was pregnant). I had been wanting to visit for quite some time as we live nearby. Might give it another go, but I certainly won’t be back on a Sunday. Please advise your staff to A) perhaps be a little more friendly at work, i know how hard it is when it’s busy as I spent many years in hospitality myself but sadly good food doesn’t make up for bad service and B) simply acknowledge people’s presence with politeness.

Hi, Was a lovely evening and great food and service. Well done all. Only point perhaps some more comfortable chairs on the normal tables and the music downstairs was quiet loud and could hear up in main restaurant. Will visit again in future to see if any changes.

Fantastic service & quality fresh food especially the stunning fish dishes (all fresh from Cornwall) & the grilled hispi cabbage was delicious. One of the best meals we’ve had in London for a while in a relaxed atmosphere but top quality touches.

Food was good - more vegetables as sides have been nice. Good service which was reasonably attentive. High tables - I wouldn’t recommend, they are small and not comfortable. General decor - it needs a freshen up. The chairs were threadbare with the seams splitting. For the price it could have been a lot better.
