Great beer, friendly service,and a great vibe. This is more of a drop in place than a regulars' bar as it gets the passing trade from Borough Market. Nonetheless, it has a great vibe.. The food is on the decent side of standard pub food. I like this bar a lot.

Music was far too loud. Don't understand why they have club volume music in some pubs these days. Had to leave early due to the headache.

We went to the market to eat and there was such a crowd of people that we ended up entering the pub almost accidentally. We were two families (8 people) and we were able to go downstairs to some warehouse-type spaces that were spectacular, both for the atmosphere and the comfort. You ordered upstairs and they brought the food down to you. Good quality and service, with a reasonable price for London.

Ordered two pints of beer, they came out flat, gave them the benefit of the doubt and still drank them, when I ordered the next two came out exactly the same, I took the drinks back to the barman and asked them to be changed explaining that these pints and the previous round were flat the barman argued with me that since he could see a few rogue bubbles it therefore wasn’t flat, he shunned me away and very rudely and arrogantly stopped talking to me and turned his attention to another customer I asked him politely and calmly why he was acting so rude I wasn’t being loud or hostile I was very calmly explaining the situation my partner also tried in vein to talk to him he was extremely rude and dismissive and seemed to be of the opinion that tourist trade wouldn’t complain and if we didn’t like it invited us to go somewhere else, which is exactly what we did! Appalling attitude and I would advise anyone wishing to get a decent beer and decent bar staff to avoid this place at all costs im genuinely staggered I wasn’t irate rude or loud I couldn’t have been more polite and I was treated with utter disrespect.

Christmas shopping at the market and stopped her for drink. Great beer selection on tap!

Tables were dirty, but a decent place to stop for food and pints.

Many small cellar rooms downstairs, quite cute, perfect for small groups, also have a tv for each area

The cellars downstairs are a great space, but not being looked after properly: lots of mould growing over the walls. Fish and chips tasted microwaved. Decent pint of cask ale though.

Interesting building. Nice atmosphere. Very busy. Easier to buy a drink with qr code than go to the bar. A few items on the menu were not available. Food was mediocre at best and not hot. Barely warm. Would not return for food.

We came to the pub to watch the Six Nations and found an available table with no reserved sign—perfect for the game. Arriving two hours early, we made sure to secure our spot and have dinner. Unfortunately, an hour before kickoff, the staff suddenly placed a reserved sign on our table and asked us to leave 30 minutes before the match. This felt unfair, especially since other tables were clearly marked as reserved. Had we known, we would have gone elsewhere. Next time, please inform customers before they order if a table is already reserved!

2024-01-24 Service are so kind and attentionate, they are so listening and are ready to bend over backwards to strike the most satisfying arrangement posssible for their guests. Artiom and team have been helpful all along, over the phone the day before to arrange the booking, providing all the information required, and once we were there the day after they provided the perfect lunch experience for our group of 14 from Paris, who spoke very little english. We have loved how we were seated, what we have eaten, the good choice of starters, shearers, small plates, mains, desserts and beers and other drinks, and we have enjoyed to the most every minute that we have spent at the Tavern. And just next to one of the main entrances of the Borough market, yet not as crowded at one might have expected. And the round façade, so unique. Just brilliant, the whole of us 14 reccomend not to miss this spot, should you be looking for a good London Pub experience. And a perfect spot from where to enjoy the striking view of the Shard against good old London's buildings (see picture attached). (Clairfication: the 5/5 rating is relative to this class of place, i.e. I am not comparing it with a three stars Michelin, but with other traditional London pubs. Cheers.)

Great place for a variety of beers in the heart of London close to the Shard. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere! Got one of the best service I have recieved in London from the guy named Ollie. He is a keeper and company should acknowledge that. True bar tender! Highly recommended.

Spacious and well-kept place, tables also on the -1 floor. Good scotch egg and chicken roast. Scotch egg + chicken roast + a beer = £34, generous portions. In hindsight I would have satisfied myself with just the roast chicken

Fantastic traditional British pub, greatly located next to Borough market and London Bridge station. Good selection of both tap and draught beers, easy to book, reccomend the cellars downstairs, wife and kids loved it.

Good customer service and brutal beer

Cozy and pleasant place. A very nice and friendly pub with delicious beers and tasty food. The three of us ordered the Slow-Cooked Steak & Pale Ale Pie, served with buttery mash, buttered leeks, savoy cabbage, and red wine sauce. The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the inside of my portion was cold, which slightly spoiled the experience. Because of this, I'm giving one star less. Nonetheless, thank you for the experience—definitely worth a visit!

Was a good pint, not too busy. To the owners reply, I didn't have a negative experience, I only gave 3 stars as it's a basic pub, however I will be back.

Nice food and good atmosphere, highly recommended

Eight of us met up for a late lunch / early evening meal - our table was on the lower ground floor - excellent location, close to London Bridge underground and the market. We ordered our food at the bar, well presented dishes - nothing fancy - which is fine. Would certainly come again and would recommend - even better if - a bar with no tomato ketchup was indeed odd - a quick dash to Tesco Express was called for and perhaps if those taking the orders knew what was not available would have been helpful. Friendly team and that goes a long way - thank you.

Very cute bub near borough market. Ate two well-made and good sandwiches. Almost self-service. Characteristic environment, originating from the 1800s and a former debtors' prison. I recommend it for a quick lunch.

I've been in London for a week now and had breakfast, lunch, and dinner in many diffrent places but this place had the best dinner by far! The choricho sausage was amazing so was the bass!

I buy a tgtg here, The attitude of the store employee made this a disappointing experience. I am out both my time and transit fare for arriving at this store within the pickup window only to be rudely told they are out

We visited as a group of 6 for lunch and were highly disappointed with our visit. We ordered our meal with a starter and drinks, the starter and drinks took forever to come out. When I spoke to the waiter, our main meal was on its way before the starter! I cancelled the starter and I'm still waiting on my refund. When our meals arrived, they were cold and of poor quality. My son has commented that the only thing great about his meal was the pineapple juice, which at £4 I should think it should be !!

Drinks ok. Crowd pretty annoying but the real star is the magician don neville. Was so attentive in helping us find seats and his tricks are actually the best I’ve seen.

Even though it was a busy Christmas evening, we booked a table and we were very well taken care of. We had a mixture of drinks and snacks to the table and the service was amazing, even though it was very busy

Shockingly bad service, laughable food portions and extortionate prices. On arrival the booked table was not ready so we had to hang around for them to rearrange tables. We were asked to pre order to ensure that they didn’t run out. Well that didn’t work, because the first time we saw a member of staff, it was for them to tell us that several items were unavailable. Drinks service was non existent and don’t even start me on the food. A colleague had the spicy prawn starter which consisted of four prawns and a slice of tomato, all for the bargain price of £8.50. When the mains arrived my fish and chips consisted of a small piece of fish, half a dozen chips and a thimble full of peas. Quite frankly for what they charge it was insulting. To top it off, they completely forgot to serve one of our party. His food eventually turned up once we had all finished. My advice, steer well clear.

An unforgettable pint with the woman of my life on a Saturday evening before taking a plane back to Barcelona. Perfect service by the ladies in charge of the bar. We will be back!

Christmas work lunch with clients, Darren and team couldn’t have looked after us better. Great location, table and food. We weren’t rushed, we were waited on for drinks hand and foot. Three course menu appealed to everyone and we are already planning our visit back in 2025. Thanks again!

Nice cellar area for drinks or food, we sat in a cellar bar for a few post work drinks. Festive atmosphere and friendly staff - highly recommend!

Table book arrived was showed to our table nothing mentioned by the barman. I ordered our meals and drinks via the app 10mins later was told no food would be served at this time & a refund would be issued but only for the food as the drinks were already on their way, I would rather of had a full refund so we could go elsewhere. Edit I have now received a full refund.

Poor service, delayed delivery of food and drinks with no reasonable explanation. Mediocre roasts. Won’t visit again.
