Went for Sunday lunch with my husband, I had the “Special” beef brisket with roast potatoes, veg & gravy £11.95 - it was paltry and quite frankly vile. All veg including toatie wee roasties were frozen, beef was tender but tasteless and gravy tasted of something sour like vinegar, definitely not beef. Husband had steakpie also tiny, with toatie wee anaemic boiled pots and same frozen veg as me think his was £9.95 - what a disappointment - how can you dish this up to people, even if you’re not a proper restaurant & yes prices might reflect that, and think you’ll get away with it with all the competition you have along the Clyde Valley. I did say to the very nice young waitress, who asked if I’d like her to take it back and clear off all the veg from my plate??

We live less than 5 minutes from here, we tend to eat in the main restaurant area and every time we go there I can always count on getting an excellent value, very tasty meal! Even if I have not tried a dish before I can do so here with confidence because I can rely on the food being quite excellent, every single time! We as a couple always get excellent service every time from very friendly staff, every member of staff is friendly here and all give exceptional service every time. Nothing is a problem to them. The vegetables are always perfect without being overdone, the meat is always perfect, succulent, and guaranteed to taste great every time; even the fish is perfect! A great choice of desert too although we usually find that the food itself is so good that its plenty for us and maybe have just a cake each. Hot and cold drinks are available and most types of tea are available; we drink Earl Grey tea at home so its good to have it here too. Well done for a well deserved review! We'll always come back!

We have been a few times since finding problems at another cafe in the Clyde Valley. It does seem to have attracted more customers of late so it must be doing things right. You are allocated a table as you enter and then order at the counter with food then served at the table. There is a decent selection of cold food and cakes etc. and the quality is good and prices reasonable. There are a number of similar food outlets in the valley but this is our current favourite. It does close late afternoon so does not serve dinner.

It was beautifully set for us.There was a lovely selection of sandwiches, scones with butter, jam and cream and a lovely selection of cakes. The Staff were excellent and kept us going with refills of coffee and tea.Nothing was too much bother for them. I also had a dinner 3 weeks ago.I had steak pie and my friend had fish and chips. It was a really good size portion and it was lovely.Again the Staff are so friendly and helpful.I can recommend.

The whole centre is great but the restaurant/cafe is fab! We were unsure of what to expect as it was our first visit. The Front of House Manager was friendly and efficient, the use of the lightbulb was amusing to us newcomers but worked a treat when ordering. Each member of the team was friendly and worked very well doing their particular role of service. The quality and quantity of food great at a very good price to meet most peoples budget in the present climate. I am looking forward to my next visit so I can skip the mains so I have room for a cake 😋. Well done to all the staff and whoever has done the training.

Lovely lunch today with friends. Service was great, menu had something to suit all appetites and tastes. Paninis had plenty of filling, freshly toasted with side salad & coleslaw. Visited today just for a coffee and cake. When ordering I asked for an extra butter portion and was utterly shocked to find I was charged 45p for this and 45p for the portion of jam that was wrapped up with the scone. Overall £11.45 for what we had was extortionate.

2cnd visit in a fortnight and will be the last for eating. Miserable portions, toasties barely had any filling inside and therefore very dry to eat, egg mayonnaise sandwich was pathetic too, had a scrape of filling inside. Coffee is not pleasant. Very disappointing, wouldn’t take much to improve but they’re obviously more concerned with making money ☹️

Visited here yesterday, ordered food and was surprised to here that it was £45, asked the waiter to check it was all correct which he said it was, I ordered a cheese and tuna panini and the people I was with ordered a soup each (3 people). The food then came out and it was 4 soups, advised I ordered a panini, the soup was taken away and another soup brought back out. I again said I didn’t order soup, they then brought out my panini, it was a panini with salad and a large portion of cheese. I asked the girl why I had a portion of cheese and she said that’s what comes with the salad, looking at other peoples salad they didn’t have cheese with it. I suspect when I asked for a cheese and tuna panini I was charged extra for the cheese. Service was appalling and had to chase the people a number of times and had to request to speak to a manager to get my money back for the soup. We then ordered sponge cake and custard and i think they forgot to bring it back out. Had to chase this again, don’t think I’ll be back due to the very poor service. Didn’t bother challenging my portion of cheese as I had a hassle getting my money back for the extra soup

Very much enjoyed a light lunch today, however was brought back to earth by the owner of the wool shop which is a tenant within the garden centre. Visited today with my parents and kids and won't be back. Soup was a tiny bowl of tasteless potato's that was meant to be potato and leek for £3.50 without even a roll! My sons toastie was shop bought bread and greasy. Chicken burger was awful on a dry shop bought roll and my mums macaroni was the best out the lot but still not great. It's such a shame that this place is situated in some of the best farm land in Scotland and they can't use local produce! Everything is shop bought and frozen... Just awful! Despite the terrible food the staff are pleasant but thats not enough! If this was my cafe I'd be ashamed! Oh and don't come here if you're vegan.... Visited today and stood for ages at the counter waiting to order food whereby 3 members of staff - standing right in front of us - carried on a discussion among themselves and not one acknowledged our presence until we gave up in disgust & moved away. All that was required was for one of them to have the manners to acknowledge our presence and say they would be with us shortly or at least explain why a big queue of people were being kept waiting. If this is their idea of good customer service they can keep it. This was our first visit & it will be our last!

Taking Mother in Law for a drive round the Garden Centres, dropped in here and wandered round enjoying the place. Bough a couple of thing and decided to try out the café.Nice clean setting, table and chairs etc were spotless, no smell of greasy cooking.A good selection of baking, sandwiches, toasties, etc and even full meals, reasonably priced.Staff were pleasant and helpful. We sat down and even though the place was busy our hot snacks were quickly brought to the table. The food was lovely and very tasty.Nice place to eat if you are passing the area.

I arrived at the coffee place, haven't been there before. When we walked in the door, a parade of parents were leaving with buggies etc, as I was coming in carrying my 11 month old and my 4 year old walked ahead - as they do - I called to him as he charged ahead and said 'we have to go order lunch, and pay first' he followed me into the cafe where I ordered his kids lunchbox meal, and a coffee and cake for myself (which came to £13.95, I assumed that included the sandpit - which is £4) I advised, I was going to the sandpit but i was a little early, the staff replied it was open as they'd just been down and cleaned after the last session so if I went down, they'd bring my order down. Wasn't even down there 5 minutes, and a very rude girl came yelling at the door, (I was standing in the sandpit, there was 2 other families In as well may I add) 'you've not paid to be in here!' I was absolutely mortified! I replied, I had paid, as just returned from the cafe. She charged away and came back again 5 mins later, 'you've not paid so you'll need to come and pay it!'. Again, she shouted from the door instead of coming over to me. I was mortified! I tried getting my 4 year old to come, and my baby was in the high chair. I lovely woman offered to keep an eye for a couple minutes whilst I ran up. Something I never do, but my anxiety was so bad and I could have died was embarrassment so i rushed away! So basically, you have to pay for the sandpit on the right-hand side when you enter, there is a sign, which I missed when coming in because it was so busy at the door. A misunderstanding! When I arrived to pay at the desk, (i was flapping having had left my kids with strangers, and obv course still mortified by the lack of manners and discretion from this girl), I said I'm here to pay for my child in the sandpit, and the same girl said 'eh is it not 2 children? I replied, 'Well yes it was but it stated online under 1 are free' as I had already asked when I booked. Again, lack of manners and a very bad tone. 👎 after paying for them, I went back to the sandpit and when I went to eat my pavlova, i was filled with deeper disappointment! It was awful 😖 strawberries were not fresh, were soggy, and had dirt on them, which completely put me off eating it (clearly they werent washed) and my coffee had gone cold. I obv didn't bother leaving to go back and Complain after the reception I'd already had so I left it. A very Overpriced unpleasant experience for an hour and a half. I will not be back! And it put me right off booking their pumpkin event which I was going to do that day after seeing it online.
