Very nice clean pub with excellent and polite service

Eaten there twice in the last month and the Fish and Chips were first class along with the Pie and Mash we had again 😋

Lovely pub, haven't eaten there for over 5 years so ca t comment on food other than what we saw brought out for others looked amazing. The waffle looked incredible 😲 they did have a Coach of Leeds supporters return while we were there & the landlord was kind enough to let us know so we could keep an eye to kids. Pub filled when they arrived amd staff were quick to get the bar que down very quickly. Lovely place staff and locals were all pleasant. Would deffo recommend and will no doubt be back in future

Went with a walking groupe ,weather was wet so did a shorter walk,getting back sooner than stated.Themeals we had where very good and for the price where top class.20 +people no cpmplaints,all said great.Will be back on our next programe ln March

Had a bad experience here 6yrs ago. Heard it had recently changed hands and the food was good so we decided to pay a visit. Went for a lunch meal. Food was very excellent 👌 and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend you pop along and give it a try.

Fantastic pub with great atmosphere

Under new management- and the new Boss is friendly, responsive and VERY keen to help make your experience a good one! The food was good - and the beer is well-kept (so tastes fresh and clean). If you have not been for a while - give the new team a go!

Just called for lunch, first time I’ve had a meal here for a long time and we’ll be back. A lovely Sunday roast. The pub is under new management and they are very welcoming and friendly. Lots of information about weekly and up coming events on some of the TV screens too.

Not visited this pub for a long time and decided to call in for lunch What a good idea this was !!!!!! The lady who served us couldn’t have been more helpful and so friendly The food was yummy I had scampi and my hubby had burger which came with 2 sauces and as the lady pointed out one of them is very hot !!! Indeed luckily hubby just dipped a chip in it We will definitely be returning and we can’t wait Talking to another couple these are new owners who have been there around 2 weeks - All I can say is keep doing they great job your doing

New management in our local. Still getting sorted, but had time to speak with customers and was very pleasant and attentive. Plenty of parking, disabled access good, dog friendly.

We have been for lunch a 2 occasions before on a weekday and the food was OK How today we had the roast chicken roast dinner .The plates arrived with a small chicken that was over cooked pale and dry .2 small roast potatoes a blob of lumpy mash , over cooked peas and green beans and lumpy gravy.And we waited 30 mins Not impressed we will not be going again .the menu stated half a roast chicken and sage and onion stuffing .Who ever cooked and plated this embarrassing food needs a cooking lesson

Food was under cooked and frozen and was out off stock on roast potatoes got home and felt sick would not recommend going there again such a bad experience 😑

Great local pub that we have used for last 10 years. We don't go in as often as some but always a warm welcome from Baggers and his staff. Petes quiz nights on Sundays are very good. Always lots of live sport and someone to chat with

Food so so. Main course salad was mostly greens, not even a whole tomato in it, one slice of green pepper- o sweetcorn as listed in description- shop bought caramelised onion chutney not worth 7.99. Scampi and mushrooms in breadcrumbs bought in- unfortunately many pubs are like this these days. Staff very pleasant. Shame the food is pre packaged and uninspired.

Chef wants to check menu before cooking order,items missing,badly cooked,felt sorry for the waitress.At least the chef ought to have come out to apologise.We were offered another drink,but just came away.Definately wouldn’t recommend here to eat.This is the second time had bad meal,thought the first time was a one off.

Rubbish customer service payed no attention to what we want ordering missed out one order out what was meant to be on the bill had to change the food what was on the plate overall rubbish experience very poor standards.

Brilliant pub! Land lord is ex army captain and did out country proud for 21 years. Him and his partner r great. Christmas dinner was amazing and they did it with a chef off with covid! Really make everyone feel welcome! Would highly recommend this pub! If any pub deserves service it is here!!!

Staying in a hotel close by, so went for a meal for the 2 day we stayed. Lovely premises cozy and snug, food really enjoyable and served hot! Beer was good too. Recommend for a visit...

I have to say myself and my family have just had a lovely meal. The steak was cooked to absoloute perfection! I would highly recommend a visit her. The staff are lovely and the chef... just amazing!

Been in before regularly but not recently. called in sunday with my partner and son to play pool. ended up having food too, it was lovely and the service was spot on. will hopefully call in more often.

The service was horrendous, food and customer! We arrived at 6:30 and we didn’t get our food til 8 after ordering at 6:30 when we arrived at the pub! The food was bland and the gravy tasted horrible too! Didn’t enjoy my experience at all!

Booked a table because we thought that with limited tables it would be better. However no tables had been removed. No official track and trace system but there was a leaflet on the table advising you to complete on line . Two tables near us, one with five diners and one with six, did not bother. Waited 45 mins for food. Half way through I discovered something in the batter of my fish so reported it to who I thought was the manager. He did not say anything just took it away . 20 mins later no one had been to speak to me about it. We were waiting for ice cream re kids meal. When this came I asked the waitress what it was that was in my food. She said she would go see the manager. By this time I was feeling that they were just hoping I would leave. Then a waitress came and said that it was something in the fish nothing to do with them! I said it was stuck in the batter not the fish. Half of it was when it went back. Ignoring the lack of social distancing. Ignoring the 45 mins wait. The customer care was so shocking we will not be returning

No social distencing no organisation long wait for food still waiting told fourty five min wait over a hour ago just been offered free drink or desert as meal not cooked yet so cannot comment on food both offers turned down cannot wait to leave

Called on Thursday evening for a meal with my friend totally ignored and left standing at the door. Saw one plate of food come out but still nobody came to us, saw bar staff regularly looking at us but made no attempt to speak to us. Then the member if staff who brought the plate of food out appeared behind the bar with his mouth full of food, then a gentleman came from around the corner with his empty glass and lo and behold who got served first, yes your right the guy wanting his beer, and when I pointed out that we had been stood waiting for at least 10 all I got was a shrug of the shoulders having been a customer regularly if the previous owners we thought we would give it a try, but we will never step foot in that place and would certainly recommend my friends nit to go there at all

The new management are doing a great job. Called in for a meal with family and all were great, even without the dine out help out offer it’s well worth the money.

We had heard the place had closed down and then reopened so went the other week We weren’t keen Four of us went and nothing we had was all that good ! Don’t think we be going again

Called in on Saturday for the first time in a while. Food was lovely and staff were brilliant, very chatty and made sure we had everything we needed. Was very busy but can’t fault the food or staff. Grandkids enjoy there meal and the staff were really good with them taking time out to chat with them. Well worth going, well done to new owners

MY partner and I visited and ate here twice in the last two days which says a lot. The menu is typical pub grub not pretentious but we'll cooked and good value. The management and staff were pleasant and welcoming. Found it difficult to fault.

Like to go Sunday evening for fun quiz and play your cards right. Good fun good company and good food last week. Lovely meat balls for supper xx

Open drug taking, aggressive atmosphere

Called for a bite to eat. Welcome was a bit lacking at the bar. Sorry but that's why I only scored average.

After a few beers in Leeds city centre ( Saturday night) we jumped on the 110 bus home. The rain was bouncing down so we decided to pop in to the Gardeners Arms for a quick pint and then get a taxi home. I've not been in this pub for years. The two lads behind the bar could not help us enough. A nice pint of Theakstons and i asked for a local taxi number. They said they would ring the taxi. Within 10 minutes the taxi was there for us. The lad who ordered the taxi shook our hand and wished us a safe journey home. The lads had never met us before but the customer service was absolutely fantastic. Thank you

Bit chavvy. Fine if you live local but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I have rated this average because we have had two visits recently and had issues with both. We sometimes go for the £5 lunch club deal, drink and sandwiches for £5. There are a small selection of items you can get with this offer however it’s decent value so I’m not complaining. The first time around I got the steak sandwich and it was extremely fatty. They had also run out of other options and bread so my choice was limited. They also had problems with the till so no card payments could be taken and with no money I had to make a special trip to the bank just to pay. Not exactly a hassle free lunch. The second visit pretty much same ... no ciabatta bread so another compromise was needed. There wasn’t many people ordering but had to wait an age before being served and that took ages as the only lady serving was having issues with the till. One of my party ordered the steak and again very fatty and not cooked to requirement. Fish was supposed to come with tata sauce which it didn’t. Small salad and chips are always spot on. Could be great If they address the issues. I would say it’s better than the Angel offer down the road.

TACKLE a day out sightseeing in the fresh air and you'll wind up hungry enough to eat your dinner and the plate it comes on. The three of us were tired, hot, bothered and ravenous, so we made our first ever visit to the Gardeners Arms....and we were hooked. The food here is quite simply a pleasure to eat. My daughter was first to order and had the chicken, ham and leek pie. We couldn't stop laughing when it arrived because the pie was huge and with nice crisp pastry not some soggy surround. My wife ordered the grilled chicken, bacon and cheese dish which she said was very tasty and I had the lamb shank which was delicious. We also ordered various soft drinks, I had a beer which was well kept and I had just enough space left for a sort of millionaire's shortcake desert which piled on the holiday calories. All this was consumed in light, bright surroundings which had clean well kept toilets and very friendly staff who did their best to help despite it being a very busy Saturday night. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back twice more, the first time having a goat cheese salad, a gammon steak and sausages and mash followed by sundaes and the second -- on a wilting day when temperatures reached 37C -- we gratefully ordered two cool salads and a chicken and chips. Both times the weather was so hot I had two pints and scarcely noticed them. If you added the cost of all three nights together -- all main meals, deserts and drinks -- it barely came to £100 for three people which we felt was exceptional value for money. We have no hesitation in recommending anyone to come to the Gardeners Arms for a meal and we'll be back there again when next we visit Yorkshire.

Fantastic service and excellent food

We visited the Gardeners arms for the first time in a while. It'll be even longer before we go back. I ordered steak pie, chips and mushy peas and my wife ordered a hand battered fish goujons sandwich on white bloomer bread.My pie came with mash and green veg which was garden peas and green beans but I decided to eat it anyway as it looked good, the real problem was that the pie had been 'cooked' in the microwave which made the pastry soft and stretchy, not crisp as it should be. When I took it back and reminded the server that i'd ordered chips and mushy peas he told me 'that's how it comes' so I then added that the pie had been in the microwave, he took it into the kitchen and came back out asking if I wanted a fresh one which I declined.My Mrs didn't get hand battered goujons on bloomer she got fish fingers on two slices of thin white bread, also had to ask for tartare sauce which is part of the list on the menu. Whilst paying for what we had eaten I mentioned to to the server that we were also disappointed by getting captain birds eye fish fingers and not hand battered goujons so off he went into the kitchen and came back to tell us that they were the 'spec' that they served for that dish. Just a very disappointing visit.

Went to watch the Leeds match. Just ordered something as was starving wasn’t expecting much but the food was very nice. Chicken burger and chips. Home made tasted life triple cooked chips and fresh chicken in burger. Really enjoyed and good service

Lovely place to eat with friends and family

Christmas Dinner was a disaster. Overpriced, overcooked and disappointing. Food came all on one plate, so no choice of veg or gravy etc. Veg was cooked within an inch of its life. One roast potato per person, no bigger than a wedge and burnt. Starter and pudding very average, stale bread as an example and spicy chicken goujouns, not normal batter for kids. Lack of interest in producing a nice meal, which for £45 a head, it should have been.

Absolutely fab sunday lunch to be honest we go most weeks its that nice highly recommended!!

We ended up in this pub after running out of options of where we wanted to eat. Let me say, we made the right choice!I had a cheese burger and my partner had hunters chicken. Both of us really loved the food. You got a good amount of food for a decent price.The waiter who served us ( I can’t remember his name ) was very kind.Would recommend and would come again!

Top Venue with Traditional Values, Great place for a great night out

Fairly standard local pub, friendly staff and cheap food.

I went with my husband, my mum and my grandson for lunch. I had chicken and bacon salad but it had a dressing over it which had a strange taste. This spoiled the salad as everything was covered with it so only the chicken was any good. My mum and my husband chose meat pie. This was smothered in gravy and the pastry was very soggy (like it had been heated in the microwave) My grandson had a childrens’ meal - pizza and chips. The pizza had been warmed up in the microwave so was just like a thick soggy slice of bread with cheese on top! My grandson is two and a half and didn’t eat much of his lunch - it was very disappointing. The only good part of the meal was the side order of chips. We won’t be returning.

Called for a meal mid afternoon. Reception was friendly. The meals were excellent, everyone in our party said that they had thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
