Won’t be coming here again after that Asian lass was cheating on her husband and he came in carrying on plates were getting smashed and lot very dangerous place

Went for breakfast today, on arrival the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Had the full English it was really nice & tasty, the produce used is really good quality. The atmosphere was very relaxing and both me & my other half would definitely recommend & will definitely be going back.😊😊

We recently had a reception for a christening at Di Bosco. The staff upon entry were very welcoming and very friendly and positive. My 1 star review does not reflect them, however does reflect the attitude displayed by the owner of the establishment. Upon family members visiting the next day to thank the staff, they were greeted with negativity about the attendees and their children. Concidering I had 6 neices and nephews at the resturant who were all impeccably behaved and other small children always being supervised, who also did not seem to cause any issue to anyone. I am shocked and frankly disgusted this would have been the statment provided. I really feel for any staff working under his mangment as he obviously is not fit to undertake such a role.

Food was actually pretty decent however shame about the owner who doesn’t make children feel welcome, even though it was a christening!

‘Peter’ has no business working in hospitality. Unfortunately an incredibly obnoxious and self righteous person. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Under staffed for a busy planned event with not much organisation. Rude attitude from some staff, others just seemed over worked.

Was told to avoid this place when booking my kids christening. Wish I had listened. Food is pretty good but just such an unwelcoming vibe. Sad really because this place could be great if they knew what they were doing.

The fountain in the middle of the conservatory is a nice touch. Until you look at the colour of the water and it’s splashing everywhere.

Recently attended for a reception, appalled by the lack of understanding from the owner about children being at the venue. The whole venue was booked out so surprised he had the cheek to be so ignorant, arrogant and rude. The food they put out was also not worth the money it cost. Shame really because the bar staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I wouldn't return to the venue even if I was paid to.

Went here for breakfast and over heard some customers asking for sweetners. The owner was quite dismissive of their needs and just said we throw them away as no one asks for them. I’d recommend bringing your own. I was quite shocked of his lack of cs. I went to pay, and no eye contact. I was chatting to him and he was more bothered about what was going on at another table. I stopped talking to see if he was aware of what I was saying. He wasn’t and then asked me for the amount I owed. In addition to this he pulled his staff to one side to tell them to get the tables cleared quickly. Not very professional. Should have been done away from customers in my opinion. The kids who work there are amazing though, very attentive and hardworking. Food basic, but dressed up to appear as quality ingredients. To summarize. Food ok for a local but definitely not anything special, manager a tad rude, staff amazing. Blacker hall far superior

Used to come here when it was the ship inn. Very modern, now a very chic coffee /wine bar. Very nice inside, sitting outside is not so great, unless you like watching traffic. But like I said inside is comfortable.

Very good, lovely food, great and helpful service. Looking forward to next visit.

Champagne afternoon tea ! Beautiful great service staff very friendly

Had a lovely lunch food was good and not overly expensive good plesent surroundings and most importantly friendly efficient staff.

We attended the restaurant on 27 March. Mother's Day. Despite the food eventually being excellent, the table service was appalling. 2 hours into service, I had to chase our main meals and when they arrived, I then had to chase cutlery to eat with. Complete basics. After our main course, our plates were not cleared for 30 mins before I'd had enough, paid the bill and left. Despite failures throughout service and staff being very apologetic (when things were brought to their attention) this did not increase the level of attention we received. In fact, we felt increasingly ignored. Not once did anyone ask if we enjoyed our food, or come to the table to offer us more drinks. It felt like I was forever approaching the bar to speak with staff which ultimately spoiled our experience. To my annoyance each time, there was an abundance of staff stood around doing nothing. This establishment is badly in need of a capable manager and staff training, or I fear it won't be around much longer. We were also shocked at the uniform of some of the staff. We noted that one staff member was wearing some worn out, scruffy trainers and another was wearing an inappropriately short skirt. We didn't expect this from hospitality workers in what is claimed to be a unique, premium restaurant. Again it boils down to core standards and management.

Went for Mother’s Day breakfast and it was nothing short of disgusting. Clueless chef and staff to go with it. Sent eggs back as they were raw and they brought raw eggs back. ‘Manager’ came out and said that’s how he has his eggs 😂 never again. Definitely avoid this gaf.

We made a booking for a table for three, two adults and my three year old grandson. The menus on the web site give no indication when the different menus are available and due to their short opening hours mid week we expected all food to be available when we arrived just after 11.30 am. We arrived and despite being asked if we had made a reservation twice, no reservation could be found. We were given a table for six, the server said the table for two would be moved away in approx 30 mins I suggested move it now and we would have our table for four. He did this. The next server who asked if we wanted drinks informed us that the breakfast menus finished at 11.30 and no food could be ordered until 12 noon, they usually don’t take any food orders for 30 minutes. I asked if we could place the order and the kitchen could start to prepare it at 12 noon, they agreed. After about 15 mins another guest arrived and sat at the next table and within 15 minutes was served his food, the time being 12 noon. I asked how this was possible as we had been refused food and our food would only be started to be cooked at 12 noon, no proper explanation. The drinks arrived and my three year old grandson was served fresh orange with ice in a large cut glass glass. We asked it to be changed into a smaller normal drinking glass for a child, The food eventually arrived and we had no complaints. We then went to the counter to order two cakes and waited stood at the counter some considerable time before the order was taken and then it took a similar amount of time for the two cakes to arrive. All the time we sat at the table the dirty plates and empty drinks just sat on the table and we’re not removed . We made room for the cake plates. Such a shame, pleasant surroundings, good food, very poor service, poor communications, they reduced the bill by approx £10 but would have preferred to have had a good experience, seems lack of training and not enough staff

We usually have breakfast here. Decided to take friends for lunch and were very disappointed. Only 1 person serving the whole restaurant and the standard of lunch was very poor and overpriced. Such a shame if the standard continues to decline

Despite the lovely surroundings and great parking, we can only give one star due to poor bar service. Only 2 bar staff on at a private function attended by over 50 people and the wait to be served was terrible. We left after not being served a drink despite queuing for 20 minutes - making cocktails was just making the wait time far too long- more staff were needed for sure! The heating could have been turned up a little also- didn’t feel warm enough to take coat off. A shame because the place has got lots of positives- just need more staff!

Lovely brunch. Can get nice food along the vegan menu. Waiting staff very good. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Really slow service, missed 1 of 6 breakfasts then to say it will be coming in 15.and minutes then still didn't turn up. Quality of food wasn't the best. Won't be coming back here again. Would be rather go to Mcdonald's.

Lovely venue, band was brilliant and food lovely. Manager (I think) was impatient with the bill because there was a few of us wanting to pay card/cash kept making rude remarks about it taking too long and being fussy, disappointing when you have a £200 bill!!. Also food to an age to arrive

Love the ambience of the place. Visited on several occasions. Recent visit was for breakfast which unfortunately the order was taken incorrectly and my breakfast came out as my partner was finishing his. That said Eggs Royale were beautiful and worth waiting for and the cooked breakfast tasty and thoroughly enjoyed. Waiting staff pleasant and attentive. Very well priced always nice to know you're not paying for surroundings

A very disappointing experience. Waiter did not communicate very well , wrong drink, no cutlery, when reminded still no spoon for soup . coffee good large chips no flavour non eaten waiter never even asked why . unbelievable

Pretty expensive for the portions, exceptionally dry chicken for the children's portion and adult burger. Both wraps on the other meal were filled with grease. Shame as it's a lovely setting and the staff are fab.

Waited 25 minutes for 2 coffees. We were approached 3 times by different staff to see if we were okay. We asked about the coffee on each occasion. Never got the coffee. Customer service is lip service only obviously.

The menu was sparse for vegitarians. I ordered the smoked salmon, smoked mackrel and prawn platter. There was no mackrel, i was not informed of this when i ordered, i was only told there was no mackrel when i questioned why it was not on the dish. I was offered a 10% reduction which was not taken off the bill. The venue was not busy, but the service was extremly slow and we needed to follow up on a number of occasions. The staff were not very attentive and the service was generally poor. While the food was acceptable, it was nothing to shout about.

Before lockdown this was lovely but since reopening, very disappointed. Tried 3 times since, iced decaf latte was milky ice twice as the poached eggs on muffin was very overcooked and the muffin was rock hard. It's still a nice atmosphere but I will be looking for somewhere else to meet up with family. Such a shame.

Called in for a coffee after a walk. Sat on an outside as I had my dog with me. It was a weekday lunchtime and fairly busy inside. Ordered a coffee and a flapjack, which arrived a few minutes later and were both very nice. The staff were attentive and helpful. All good.

This was my first visit. The owner was being rude about the staff in front of customers and was very unhelpful. He wasn’t wearing his mask and I heard him say “the staff are a liability because they get their COVID jabs and then call in sick”. The waiting staff were lovely even though they were under pressure and under staffed. We were told that the food would be out within 20 minutes yet we waited an hour but the wait was worth it as it was lovely unfortunately the atmosphere was ruined due to lack of communication skills from the owner.

More vegan options would be good. Lovely wines but slightly more choice would be good. Lovely place for a lunch

Very average food and service from employees. Inside the building is very aesthetically pleasing but that is about it. Many better brunch options around Wakefield!

Called in for a takeaway coffee while walking the dog. £7 for 2 coffees in paper cups!!! What a rip off!

Visited Di Bosco for the first time today for breakfast and will definitely be returning. The food was excellent and well presented and a great selection of coffees. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Looking forward to the next warm day to try the cocktails.

Although completely empty as pouring with rain, not allowed to sit under an umbrella on terrace with dogs as apparently other customers would complain. Was told it was'the weathers fault'!! Not the fact that they are completely unprepared for rain. We were told this owner wanted this place to be like the continental cafés- which are prepared for the weather with umbrellas, heaters, blankets etc. Like café Capri in horbury.

we were given two vouchers that were purchased buy our family for a Christmas present. At the time we thought this would be a lovely treat for ourselves. we booked a table for two and was arranged for April this year, Corona virus came and understandably Dibosco closed this was not there fault, not telephoning us or answering our emails WAS, NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL,once it opened we telephoned the and re-booked for last Monday (even took day off for a treat) less than an hour before our booked table was due we had a telephone call saying that they didn't do afternoon teas , they were not going to accept our voucher that we paid for and even though they could sell us some sandwich and cake or other stuff our voucher was worthless and that we had to indefinitely look on there website to see if we have afternoon tea, this is not acceptable as we paid for a service and couldn't have it even though there restaurant was opened and full. we haven't even been there and the service is lacking to say the least, after a very unpleasant experience we feel we do not want to go there and will persue them for a refund of our worthless vouchers. anyone thinking about buying vouchers for someone`s present think again you are just paying for nothing.

Visited for breakfast with a friend and we loved it. The food took a while to come but was fresh and delicious so was worth the wait. The staff were courteous and very helpful. We will definitely be back.

We had light bites to share, very reasonable in price and eat out help out made it even cheaper. The food was very good, so were the drinks. Social distancing in place. very good. fortunately we could sit outside.

Nice place, lovely food but slow service. Arrived at our booked time and given menus. Waitress came back to take our drinks order about 5 mins later and she gave us extra time to view food menu. Order then taken relatively quickly but we waited about 45 mins for food which, when chased, arrived quickly. Food was nice, drinks lovely and would return.

Breakfast was very poor.We ordered poached eggs on toast which were badly presented, no effort had been applied.The dish looked like it had been quickly prepared & thrown on a plate ... like you’d do at home in a hurry to get out of the door.The eggs still had the awful stringy white stuff that needs to be left behind in the pan and not even a garnish to try to attempt to make it look presentable.The Avocado on toast was absolutely disgusting and again very poorly presented. It had a brownish colour, so the avocados were either too ripe or were perhaps mixed with some sort of puree as it also had a peculiar sweet taste which was unpleasant.I‘Ve ordered this dish a lot in several different places but this was the worst.On a positive note, the coffee’s were amazing.Food & presentation really does need improving.

So today the service was very slow and by the time our food had arrived my tea was cold and no good. The high chair that came was so dirty that I asked for it to be cleaned only for it to stillCome back dirty so decided to clean it myself with what I had with me. The nappy Changing facilities need addressing the pull down nappy changer the black strap you use to stop your baby rolling off the changer if you wanted to use the toilet whilst in there was broken so your baby could just roll off onto the concrete floor very unsafe. Finally after waiting for the bill to arrive the manager spoke to me like utter rubbish which I think is so unprofessional especially with him being the owner of the place and it has really upset me and wonder how many other customers he has spoken to like this . All I wanted was to go out for a nice catch up with friend won’t be going back and do not recommend here.

I had booked a table for 2 for a meal at quarter to 7. After ordering drinks we asked to see the food menu. We were told that last food orders were at quarter to 7 (the time at this point was 6.55pm). We were not aware of this at the point of booking online nor were we told when we were seated. To make matters worse, a table next to us had ordered food 5 minutes before this via a different waitress without any issues. We ordered two drinks and left, luckily we managed to make a last minute booking elsewhere. Avoid the french martini,it tastes very acidic and in no way like a french martini. I have given up with this place, it is a shame because the food is nice.

Best breakfast me and my husband had for a while. Perfectly cooked and served. Definitely improved from when we last visited last year. Very accommodating manager and staff. Beautiful food and great coffee. Service was a bit long but we were expecting that anyway with current help out eat out scheme. Would definitely go again and its worth recommending. Such a shame when your looking forward to some family time but it was wrong from the start. The reception at the door was borderline abrupt and we were told the booking system had gone down. The service was absolutely shocking. We waited so long for our drinks which came out in dribs and drabs. The staff had no idea of the table numbers and kept taking things to the wrong tables. Ages later the food followed but one persons meal never came out despite a couple of polite prompts. The rest of the party had finished eating and it still wasn’t out so we asked for it to be cancelled. Little apology and no explanation. The number of customers was low and it’s only a chicken wrap, so it was difficult to understand why the whole experience was so bad. The food itself is nice but unfortunately by itself it’s not enough for us to return for another meal. Really disappointing.

Outstanding breakfast, good value for the quality of produce. Full English is one of the nicest breakfasts I’ve ever had. High quality coffee, you can tell this from the espresso. May be on the strong/bitter side for most.

Second visit since reopen and sorry to say poor service. Drinks took quite a while to come and when they did the spoon was filthy. Staff don't seem to care either when questioned about drinks very non responsive.

I’ve visited here a few times now as this is a half way point between my best friend and I so it’s an easy one for a catch up. I like it, since it opened I was impressed with how well it had been renovated from the pub it was previously. I guess for me it’s not the first place I would think to go aside from a catch up with a friend. It’s not really a restaurant, it’s not really a cafe but then it’s not a bar either. I struggle to understand what market it’s actually aimed at. I’ve not really eaten here aside from some chips or a slice of cake so can’t comment on the food - menu does look relatively small though. All in all a nice little place for some drinks in my opinion.

Didnt know this existed until my friend moved around the corner. Abit pricey for a latte in a small glass. Clearly paying for the look of the place rather than the quantity of a propa drink.

We went for coffee and cake on Sunday morning. There wasn’t much seating available and the tables were full of dirty crockery.The man who seated us told us their speciality was coffee and cake. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken.The cake was dry and the Americano coffee was nothing special although my Chai Latte was nice (but small).Love the idea and I want to support local business but it’s poor and they need to up their game. Make nicer cake, decent coffee and hire more staff.

This is a nice spot to call for mid morning coffee and cake. Good parking and clean interior. Normal choice of coffees and some tasty cakes to accompany. Have also stayed for lunch and the food was tasty and well presented. No complaints.

Went for the first time for lunch and was presently surprised. Had mixed feelings going as I had seen some mixed reports about Di Bostco and their service. However we were pleasantly surprised. We could not fault the service, all staff were very polite and attentive. The food (chicken burgers and chips) was very tasty and we thought good value for money. We followed this with cake and coffee again quite delicious and not over expensive. Di Bosco has a nice ambience, the decor is clean and fresh and we liked how the food and drink was presented. Would definitely return and highly recommend to others.

Originally visited here with my partner not long after it opened. Order hot chocolate and a latte, both if which were nicely present and tasted lovely, however was a little pricey. I asked my friend to join me here after a wonderful first experience however when I returned for a second visit I knew it was my last. Me and my friend ordered drinks and cake at the same time. My drink came first and then her cake. After 5 minutes we asked where her drink was and they said they had forgotten, although there were approximately only 5-6 customers in. Her drink finally came 15 minutes after mine and still no sign of my cake. They said they had none of the cake left that I had ordered so I asked why they hadn't told me this sooner, the waitress shrugged and walked away. Brilliant first visit, terrible second. Will not be coming here again 👍

Just had afternoon tea at the di bosco horbury thankfully i was a plus one on axmas gift voucher and didnt pay towards the £29 they charge for 2 people Looked lovely when it arrived at the table was a bit shocked to find all on the stand was for both 2 pieces of cake on the top good size portion disapointed was not asked for a preference of choice of cake this was surounded by 4 bite size choc brownies and 4 macrons next tier down 2 scones 2 jam 2 pots clotted cream bottom tier 6 very tiny finger sized sandwiches surounded by a mixed selextion of crisps not very good value at £29 for 2 cake and scones were dry everything else tasted ok needed a bit more savory and deffinatly need larger size on the sandwiches on a possitive staff very friendly nice atmosphere good priced drinks

Nice looking place. Simple clean lines, neutral colours. However I'm not impressed with their interpretation of large - my large mocha would have been descibed as regular in most other places. The food menus are very limited with only a few vegetarian options and they are pretty boring

This isn't the business for you!! Visited today (New Years Day) to be met by absolute chaos. Waited 40mins for tea and cake whilst having to listen to the owner verbally abuse the one member of hard working staff as well as turning customers away as 'too busy and can't cope' and then accepting orders for 'family friends'. The place is a shambles and very poorly run. Hats off to the one hard working member of staff, who deserves a lot better

This is the second poor experience I’ve had at di Bisco. The first time my friend had a booked a table for my birthday but the owner was using the conservatory area for his son’s communion and therefore the service was terrible. The owner came over to explain twice but unfortunately this didn’t make up for the awful service and us having to rush our meal as my friend had to get to work. The table next to us looked unhappy also. Fast forward to today and it took 15 minutes for us to be asked if we wanted to order despite there being 3 tables and the owner and two waitresses working. The waitress took our order without writing it down... then had to come back twice to check what we’d asked for and brought something wrong. Why not write it down? The food took forever to arrive... the burgers were nice in fairness but my turkey wrap was not very tasty at all. The Yorkshire pudding wrap itself was more like a pancake. A disappointing couple of visits.
