Worst meal ever. I'm 43, so I've had a few meals. I'm not terribly picky. I've cooked myself some pretty awful meals believe me. Unless you're into frozen supermarket food at gastro pub prices served on sticky tables, in a damp cold room, I would think twice. Still cross. Bah.

Eat here twice during our stay in Belford. Found a higher level of food served here then other places we tried in the area during our stay. The restaurant is part of the Bluebell hotel, but like ourselves can be used by non staying residents. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, and staff were very good and friendly. There is also a well stocked bar to have a pre-meal drink. Would definitely eat here again.

We ate our evening meal and breakfast in the Garden Restaurant. It looked out onto the terraced Garden.

The restaurant is within the Bluebell hotel and has a nice view over the garden. The service was good and our food was very good (not cheap but worth what we paid). My daughter's pizza from the children's menu was homemade.

Oh dear. It was the Chefs night off, as were the 'Specials' Most people were eating in the bar which did little to establish confidence in having a meal in the rather bleak 'Garden Restaurant.' On the plus side the 2 members of staff [1 male 1 female] were very pleasant and did a sterling job multi-tasking looking after Reception, serving at the bar, cooking meals and serving in the restaurant.

Good choice of menu. Portions not large but adequate. Dessert's nice but pricey. Friendly professional service!

Restaurant is rather tired ... And the flies were rather distracting. Starter was good but sent my main course back .... 1 piece of chicken doesn't make a pie! Having said that, my meal was replaced quickly and the staff were attentive. Was ok but I won't be returning.

It would be worth visiting this restaurant just for the friendly staff, who were really attentive and incredibly helpful when things went a little off piste. The servings are generous and whilst (unusually) there was no wine list, a bottle of house shiraz was just fine. On the food front... well it was a bit hit and miss. The chowder was quite pleasant, the liver and bacon enormous, but the mussels didn't smell quite right and the steak was rather tough. Well done the manager for picking this up and generously waiving part payment, which I really appreciated. Perhaps the chef was just having an off day, as I see that other people have had a great experience here. I would probably prefer somewhere that focuses a bit more on quality rather than quantity - but maybe that's just me! Hearty and generous it certainly was.

We had dinner here. The dining room is quite traditional and pleasant, but nothing I ate was spectacular. Rib-eye steak was not a rib-eye; I ordered medium rare, but it was beyond well done, stiff and dry; the waitress was good but the delivery had features of a dodgem complete with crash at one point. The wine was limited to a choice of 3 reds, but was very good value.

Whilst staying at The Blue Bell we decided to have our evening meals here too, and we were really delighted with the excellent food and lovely friendly staff no complaints at all.

This is a small restaurant, but the choices are many and varied. Best of all, food is sourced locally and the chef is fantastic. I could go on and on but just visit, you will not be disappointed. Many thanks to all.

We ate here 3 times in as many weeks. Firstly as a party of 7, service was very good, staff attentive and friendly. I ordered a medium rare steak and it was cooked to perfection. Next occasion was as a couple for Sunday lunch, the food was plentiful and delicious. Again as a couple we had dinner on a Friday evening. I went for the steak once more and again the chef Alex cooked it perfectly. I'd highly recommend the steaks here. The Blue Bell staff are hard working, friendly and efficient.

Managed to get a table at the last minute. Room decorated for Valentines very romantically. Excellent Valentines 3 Course set meal for 2 for £40 including a glass of Prosecco on arrival. We had Duck and Ribeye Steak as main courses. Very good indeed with friendly efficient service. Would definitely eat there again.

We visit the Blue Bell Restaurant quite often for Sunday Lunch with our 2 children. The service is always so good with friendly and efficient staff. A 3 course Sunday lunch is only £10.95 and they don't scrimp on the portions! It's the best food around and we will continue to visit. There's half portions for kids and colouring pages & pencils.Gorgeous sun terrace and garden too, if the weather is good enough.Keep up the good work, Blue Bell Restaurant.

This should be a charming country town hotel. It's not. Instead it is dated, tired and understaffed, badly in need of investment. Its restaurant is unsupervised and manned by under-qualified foreign staff. The food was mostly appalling and after being asked whether everything was alright by one of the schoolgirl waitresses we replied (for a second time and this time in no uncertain terms) that it was not. Seconds later the chef came out and shouted at us in front of a full restaurant. Possibly funny in a BBC sitcom, not so when you're a paying guest. Not acceptable under any circumstance. The only mitigating factor was that when we complained to the manageress she immediately offered us a free stay and meal. The chef did not apologise. These sort of places have no right to survive, however lack of competition probably gives them a much longer lease of life than they deserve. Stay/dine here at your peril! Bamburgh is only 6 miles away and has more choice. Go there. PS the Rioja was ok

I called in just prior to our booking to leave a birthday cake. The staff were so kind and made sure the table that was reserved would be suitable. When we arrived for our lunch they had put balloons on a chair and a banner was on the wall. Our food was delicious and my grandchildren were also made welcome. They made our celebration perfect. Thanks you all the staff 💕💐

What a disastrous experience, avoid at all costs! To be advertised as a 'relaxing' spa break is an absolute joke, there was nothing relaxing about it. On arrival we wanted a nice chill, cuppa, bite to eat prior to our spa treatments - we promptly ordered food, bar staff were pleasant but very very slow. An hour passed & I chased up our food order, which arrived that late we had to rush it down to attend our booked treatments. What a great start to our stay! The chips were stone cold. When I say stone cold, they were not even luke warm & certainly not edible. A refund took 35 minutes to process, this had to be done by the ‘top’ Manager - really, for the sake of £4.50! The hotel had supposedly suffered 2 power cuts prior to our arrival & was absolutely freezing cold. We were assured this would be corrected soon. We had a table booked in the restaurant at 19:30pm, it was still freezing at this time & none of us could get warm. We returned to our rooms which were absolutely freezing cold too & even altering the temperature did not help! We were sat in our rooms with jumpers/coats/duvets around us to keep warm! POOL AREA - What Spa experience allows children in the pool, how is this relaxing for the rest of the guests? The pool area was rammed with lots of young children screeching/screaming & dive-bombing in the pool - not one member of staff noticed or stopped this. Our worst nightmare, we had come away for a quiet/relaxing stay. There wasn't a seat/table or lounger anywhere to be found. We managed to get into the jacuzzi, but this was also not working & had no bubbles! The water in the pool/jacuzzi was freezing; we didn't stay in there for long! Children had access to the pool area practically the whole of our stay. We would not have booked Slaley if we knew kids would be present - fact! The massages/treatments in the Elemis Spa were fabulous, however cut short by 10 mins; again this shouldn’t happen! The following day we decided not to return to the pool area, as children would again be present. Therefore, we decided to go to the bar/lounge area for a chill, chat, relax & a cuppa before departing. There was one person serving on the bar; he had to keep leaving his post to deliver meals to guests & the amount of people complaining about the service was ridiculous. We waited 35 minutes to order coffees/drinks & ended up leaving without being served. Where were the so called management team assessing customer service/demand? We checked out. Reception staff were very miserable on arrival & departure. On arrival, outside our rooms were 2 empty dirty glasses & outside another a plate with leftover food. When we exited our rooms these were still there - disgusting! The drive upto the hotel was absolutely horrific with around 150-200 really bad potholes in the road; this desperately needs resurfacing, as it could potentially damage someone's car, there was no way of avoiding them. NOT the relaxing break we had all hoped for & we will definitely not be returning. A 'Spa' break should be a time to relax, wind down & enjoy the experience, it was the furthest from this! The biggest insult was being given a £50 refund for each room (equating to £25 per person). The Manager Steven needs a course in customer loyalty/customer retention. We will NEVER return. Avoid avoid avoid, we would definitely NOT recommend. Horrible experience!

Smokey wet log was put into the open log burner/fire, causing the entire place to be filled with smoke. Bar was well stocked with alcohol but lacked in other options (e.g. not many soft drinks or hot chocolate). Young employee behind the bar came across unexperienced and possibly sheepish. They probably serve food but all we saw was an unplugged buffet fridge and empty plastic containers. Very central and close to Kielder Castle though

Great stay at The Castle Hotel. We stayed for one night with our dog and we felt right at home. Service was quick and efficient, rooms were spotless and modern, and staff were lovely. Literally right across the road from the station and the beach is only a short walk away too. We had a continental breakfast included in our stay the next morning too. We will absolutely be back! Thanks so much 🫶

Very nice, first time we’ve tried Ephesus, driven past many times & having never been into a Turkish restaurant before I kept wondering what it was like, with good recommendations from different friends saying they had been & it was really good my wife & I decided to pass on the Italian’s & give it a go, just for a change. The warm friendly welcome was amazing (I think it was the owner) a really nice pleasant chap, ordered drinks & I tried the Turkish beer for the first time & it was lovely (compared to the usual beer in the UK) my wife’s says her white wine was gorgeous, ordered our food with a little bit of assistance from the nice chap (as the choices all sounded fabulous) & while we waited complementary garlic bread & dips arrived (nice touch we thought) the food was truly tasty & enjoyable & a nice change from the normal Italian or Indian. Will we go back ? YES, definitely, nice atmosphere, clean, warm, good menu with excellent service 👌
