Food was tasty and arrived quickly. Vegan burger was a bit greasy but Salmon nicoise was very tasty. Ambiance ok - you are where you are so don’t expect too much - but dog policy is a bit confusing.

I won’t comment on the overpriced and rather limited menu but confine myself to an account of an interaction which we witnessed. A group of people arrived and found tables outside to sit on (the outside space was completely empty). As many of them entered the inside to order drinks and food, we watched as a furiously apoplectic man rushed outside and ordered them to leave as they weren’t buying meals inside. Despite them protesting that their partners were queuing to make purchases he continued to shout and order them all away. They all left except those who had already bought what they wanted. Meanwhile on the inside he then locked the fire doors to prevent any access from the outside. Those who had bought from the cafe quickly finished their drinks and food while one of the group challenged him about the Health and Safety implications of locking the Fire Doors. This was an unpleasant and unnecessary scene to watch. We felt so sorry for these people who only wished to make a purchase. Clearly, on many levels this is a place to avoid. What an impression it must give to visitors both from this country and from abroad.

As others have noted this used to be lovely. Now, food ok (though very limited boring menu) but service is just unbelievable. As someone also noted, every single member of staff (and we were dealt with by many) appears to be on their first day. Dishes were regularly taken to wrong tables all around us. One dish on our table took, I'm not kidding, an hour to arrive -- and this was a plain pizza. That only happened after my husband got up twice to go across the large courtyard and complain to management. What was particularly striking was the sullenness or even open contempt of the staff for their job. We have never been treated so rudely by serving staff. They must be paid really low rates and have clearly had no training. Dingy, ugly layout, even the glamour has gone from that. Time this prime space moved on into competent hands.

Visited yesterday lunchtime prior to a performance at Open Air Theatre. Found a table inside easily and purchased food from counter. Straightforward interaction and at that point no queues. After eating we sat chatting and noticing our surroundings more. Did not see any member of staff attempting to tidy the place up. Tables were all higgledly - all had different sauce bottles/ mayo on them. Most of which were empty and randomly moved around as customers searched for one that was useable. Floor was very messy, receipts, napkins, food crumbs.... Table next to us - a family - had ordered four pizzas and drinks. Pizzas arrived and drinks for children. No adult drinks. Then drink for wife arrived but no beer for Dad... He asked staff three times where it was and then was told he hadn’t ordered it. Receipt was examined - he had ordered it and staff member went off and returned with a choice of two bottles but no bottle opener......... It felt as if it was everyone’s first day, no one was in overall charge and that they were able to operate in this way because there’s a different clientele every day. Shame on you, Benugo.

I was spending some time in Regents Park because I had to wait for a doctors appointment. Then came a massive rain-shower and I was looking for some refuge. Enter Regents Park Garden Cafe. I told them that I cannot consume anything as I have to fast for my doctors appointment which they were totally fine with and let me pick a free table. As I was traveling all day (not being from London) I was also running low on battery on my phone which was a bit of an issue as I needed it to direct me around the city. They not only let me charge my phone but provided a charger as I didn't have the right plug. From what I was able to witness it was a well run cafe and people seemed happy in there. When it was clearing up outside I left and wanted to leave a tip but they would not take any money. Very friendly (what looked to be) a family business.

Visited this restaurant after spending 3 hours in London Zoo. Place was busy but not full at 1pm and we got a table straight away. There are no menus here so you have to down load the app then order on that. it took a while but our party of 5 finally completed the order only for the message "now Closed" to appear. We went to the till and told the member of staff there so she asked what we wanted. when we told her she said you cant have fish and chips, its pizza only, we have a problem. The problem appears to have been some lost orders so no fish and chips. All the staff seemed to be running around like headless chickens with paper orders on a table and on the floor. Absolute mayhem the like of which i had never seen in a restaurant before. Will never go back having wasted nearly an hour downloading the app etc. Dread to think what it will be like in the summer when it gets busy. The date was Friday 25th March

Overall it was OK, and got teas and sandwiches. Not up to the standard, or service of many other London establishments. It does get heaving at times, due to it’s location, however it was quiet mid week, mid morning, on last visit. The nearby Regents Park boating lake cafe is superior, friendlier, but smaller.

I stopped off here with some friends during a walk through Regents Park and it proved a perfectly acceptable feedstop. Stopped off here for a drink. We sat outside but the inside of the cafe looked clean and tidy although some of the tables outside could have benefited from being cleaned to remove crumbs and food/ drink stains. We only had tea, but it was delicious high quality tea that was reasonably priced. The range of food and drink on offer looked good too. The cafe seemed really popular with dog owners as dogs were well catered for. We would definitely go again.

So I had a last minute catch up with a friend who works at Madame Tussauds. We had some dinner at a local pub and then decided to take a walk in regents park, came across this pretty little cafe, fancied a cupper tea. When we walked in, they were cleaning up and closing shortly. So the staff member took our order but did say I can only give it in a takeaway cup which was fine. While waiting for a young child more less age 12/13 years old, walked up to ask a question, but the staff lady ignored him and then told him off and said when shes serving customers he should wait. But she said it in a rude and angry way! that was rude and inappropriate for her to speak to the child like that in front of us. Customer service needs to be improved! When leaving I went to use the WC and they locked all of the toilets and then said sorry you can't use them. Well, when you have a customer sitting in your garden and eating and drinking still and you have not officially closed why?? It is out of order to lock all the WC!!! The staff member girls who were meant to be cleaning them just said chatting away in the WC instead of cleaning them and telling me I can't use them... Overall great venue, the food looked lovely in what I saw. They have a fire oven for pizza's, their main feature is the garden, sitting outdoor, plenty of space and seats. Would recommend it however maybe not to pop by towards the end of the day as closing shift staff was rude, making faces and eager to go home. I get it might have been a long day or stressful shift, however, if your paying £4 for two basic tea's, its just tea bag and hot water, no need for that face.

A person should never be tired of London, so said Samuel Johnson in 1777 but if you walk around all day like a normal tourist, particularly in this past, gloriously hot and steamy summer, you might be tired of the pavement and the hoards of people. He also noted you have to be intellectually up to the challenge of London and willing to throw yourself into all of it. When that proves to be too much, take yourself off to The Regent's Park, I say, and if you are hungry or thirsty I rate The Garden Cafe as the best for what I am looking for as a single, non- parent and consistent walker around London. I am local so I don't often eat the food but it is pretty good, with lots of veg and other options for the lesser carnivores as well as meat, pasta and pizza. It is much better to head here, in my opinion, than pick up something fast and fried on the stretch of upper Baker Street just before the tube that if you keep going, leads up to the Park. Cross two sets of lights, the last across the outer circle and go right. You will be hard pressed not to notice the gardens and the 'friendly' and numerous herons before immediately heading left over the bridge and slight left again. This path past the bandshell will lead you to this café. They have a stonking, proper pizza oven and while personally I think the pizza has too much tomato sauce, it is prepared with enthusiasm on show for all to see. Kids and families love it and you can take it away too. There is an array of baked goods available and quick pick up takeaway foods like wraps and sandwiches as well as the sit down menu. The staff this year are particularly engaging and the garden surrounding is a lovely retreat. You need to know about it. I go all year round and love it at all times of the year.

I've been here a few times now and stopped going because of the appalling service. Visited today against my better judgement and nothing has changed, if anything it's become worse, the staff are extremely rude, unfriendly and ignorant. We were ignored for the longest time before our order was taken, but maybe we really shouldn't have bothered, the coffee and cake were both tasteless anyway. I'm considering making a formal complaint. This is by far and away the worst review I've given for a cafe or restaurant. The premises and surrounds are nice but that's hollow when everything else about the place is so bad.

On the way back light lunches were a bit pricey, but the potato-and-ginger soup and bread was good, filling and very reasonable at about £6.00. So, as somewhere to pop into for a coffee or light bite, it meets the bill well. Sandwiches and pizzas at about £12 are a bit too highly priced for what we wanted, maybe the rent is high, but they looked good. Unfortunately, there was nothing inbetween.

Stumbled upon this place and stopped for a late breakfast after walking through the park. It is right near the amazing Queen Mary's rose garden, the smell of the roses! Wow. The cafe is mostly glass so you still get a garden feel. There is outside seating but it looked like the people out there were being bothered by birds. You pick a table(the menus are on the table) then go up and order and let them know your table number. They bring the food over to you. I ordered the avocado & poached eggs on sourdough toast with oregano roasted tomatoes. SO GOOD! It was drizzled with olive oil. I will be trying to recreate this at home. I also got an almond croissant to go because I couldn't resist all the baked goods. I tried my friend's french toast and it was just as good! Two other friends got the eggs benedict and the bread choice on that item did not look great. Looked like just a roll or something. They didn't rave about it like we were. Seriously, take a day to stop and smell the roses. Then more importantly stop and get some breakfast here!

My friends found this place when we were looking for somewhere quaint to have breakfast. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table (so it is not a full-service restaurant). In addition to hot meals, they have a small bakery section where they sell fresh-made scones, muffins, and other breakfast pastry items. I ordered scrambled eggs, sourdough bread and bacon. It was quite tasty, although they prepare their eggs a little on the "wet" side and I'm not a huge fan of that (but that is my personal preference). Having reviewed this restaurant previously, I have to update my findings now that it is run by Benugo, with the uninspiring name of "Bar and kitchen". If you are unlucky with the weather, you will be obliged to sit amongst the crowded tables where young children are likely to be running into you, office workers knocking your elbow as you try eat a mouthful of food, or a passing waitress jarring your elbow and spilling your tea. All three happened to me during a late lunch. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. If you visit during fine weather you can benefit from the lovely secluded garden location with a choice of sunshine or shade available. You will have to contend with marauding pigeons who try to pinch your food from the plate, but that is part of park life. Food is served quickly, but the prices seem to reflect the fact that you are in a royal park. Beer battered fish and chips with tartare sauce that tastes like I imagine wallpaper paste would, will set you back £12.50

Lovely location. Calm oasis . almost hidden away in quiet corner of the park. Good place to grab a light snack and watch the world go by or take a book and read!

I used to go to the cafe with my grandma, and have coffee and ice-cream. When she passed away we went there on what would have been her birthday, and it's become a full-on restaurant. Food menu was really good - though a little bit limited for vegetarians. I was with about 5 smallish children, under 12 years old, and the menu looked excellent for them. Staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcome, even with screaming kids. Food tasted good. Oven baked pizza was excellent, and was cooked really quickly, and came quickly too. Everyone had clean plates at the end of the meal and went away happy.I know it's in a central location, but quite expensive for what it is.Overall, a nice bright airy place with good food, but not the relaxed cafe it used to be.

Tutto buono.

Great kids meals and a nice simple menu which is tasty and hot for adults - lovely views of the park and great staff. Nice drinks menu - released vibe, not rushed - could have stayed there all afternoon.

Benugo operates several outlets in Regents Park : our receipt said Garden Cafe and below is written Smokehouse which is the name of this particular outlet.Essentially a self service cafeteria with mainly outside seating. We found the food to be of poor quality and not fulfilling the menu description.Salt beef sandwich consisted of 4 small squares of beef ,bread was rather stale.(£6.50).Smokehouse burger + bacon cost £8.00 ,minimal ,fatty bacon slices, minimal quality burger.Overall impression was minimal quality which we had not anticipated.Incidentally 3 toilets reserved for customers of restaurant ( this was written on the building) 2 of these toilets were locked !

We always stop at the cafe when visiting Regents Park. We usually get some tea and a sweet. We hadn't been in a couple of years and the cafe has changed a little. More people seemed to be eating meals than just a quick bite. They now offer wood fired pizzas and a grab and go section. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed. There is a large seating area inside as well as several tables outside. If you do the grab and go there are benches all over the park. On-site restrooms are available as well. It is a little pricy but you are in the park.

Have had morning coffee/afternoon tea many times in this restaurant. Have always found the staff very helpful and choice of food good value. Toilets very good. Tends to be busy in the summertime with locals.

Staying at nearby Thistle Euston for a family weekend, we had a mooch through the park and decided on Brunch here. The staff, food and ambience were all spot on.Toilets cleaned almost by the half hour. Price was fair and compared favourably with Thistle's £12 per head breakfast that we didn't bother with.So good we did afternoon tea after London Zoo.

Perched upon a small hill in Regent's Park (entrance it at park level) this is a nice place to take a break during a stroll. Not a very big choice of products, but good tea and smoothies.

My two daughters and I came across this restaurant as we walked through the park. Two of us are on gluten free diets so we asked what they could do for us. We were pleasantly surprised how many options there were for us. The food was well priced and tasty. I would definitely go back.

The setting of the cafe is really nice and the full English breakfast tasted nice..... But I sent it back to the chef as the black pudding and sausage was cold in the middle. It was fully cooked though.... Which suggests it's pre cooked. They sent another portion out and it was hot.... But the baked beans were cold. If the food was hot and the staff didn't chat between themselves when passing me my drink then I would have given this 4 stars.

This is a lovely park café, a step up from the usual with some very tasty options on the menu. It's a little bit on the pricey side - about £12 for a pasta dish, although a generous portion. But it's lovely and light, and the service was quick and efficient.

We arrived a couple of hours earlier than we needed too as we were booked into water a show t the open air theatre, this restaurant is perfectly situated for this venue. The food and staff were excellent. The service was quick and staff willing as We told them we would need to be out by a certain time. A nice touch to finish off a perfect evening.

Wanted a quick lunch prior to theatre on a warm Summer day. This fitted the bill perfectly. Food was very acceptable. Service was superb. Would just recommend the barbecue is more prominently advertised.

Usually visit here a couple of times a year, a good place to meet for lunch before catching a matinee at the nearby open air theatre.A good selection of food, and they are pretty good at turning the food around quickly, which is what you want when you have tickets for a show. Some seating inside, but lots of benches and tables outside, which is brilliant for a summer lunch.Prices are fairly reasonable, but then we tend to blow it on Pimms.

The setting is beautiful. However the service and price let it down. Breakfast ends at 11 but you cannot even order food until 12 for lunch unless you want a pizza. Nowhere does it tell you this. You find our after you've queued and tried to order. Staff are clueless and nearly walked into our party whilst we were carrying hot drinks - twice! Lastly, I expect to pay a bit of a premium in London, and the food was OK, (substandard for what you'd expect at Regents Park!) but not worth the price for what you got. Not even slightly. Even I begrudged paying this.

What an amazing park!!!! The weather was beautiful and we had an amazing walk around the park. We then stumbled upon the Garden cafe and felt a bit peckish. As we entered we were told that there is a bbq out the back. We decided to have burgers and the summer slaw. The burger pattys were thinner than any burger you would get at a fast food restaurant served on a horrible brioche bun that didn't seem very fresh. You had to pay 50p extra for a tinny piece of cheese on the burger too. It was served with no salad, onion or anything, literally just a bun, a burger and a bit of cheese for £6.00!!!!!!!!! The summer slaw tasted sour and I think it might have gone off. That was £2.75 for a couple of dessert spoon fulls of sour slaw. Terrible food!!!! Definitely not worth the money at all!!!!

Pastries and cakes looked good but just had 2 very good Americanos. Pleasant service. Clean, modern loos. Well worth stopping off for if walking in lovely Regent's Park.
