The food and service was excellent as usual with a lovely buzz to the gallery area. Lunch was served on hot plates which makes the dish remain hot throughout. We were warned!

This is the best place to meet up with friends/ family in Faversham. I met up with my v v best friend and her family for lunch on a mild Wednesday. We all had the hash browns meal with a coffee. All the cooking and atmosphere is first class, perfect for others who are gluten intolerant. I would greatly recommend for those in the Faversham/Medway Towns area to visit.

Please be careful if you visit and want a vegan dish that you specify that every part of that of that dish is vegan. Even where it's labelled as vegan on the menu and you ask for the "vegan Dahl/Scone/whatever it is" I visited this café today with some friends and two dishes which were labelled as 'vegan' on their menu were served with non-vegan butter on the side. Unfortunately I ate some of the dairy butter. I was upset by this and went outside to get some air. A member of staff found me outside and explained they would expect customers to specify that they want the all the parts of the dish (which are included as standard (eg butter with a scone, and bread served with a dhal) to be vegan when ordering even where the item on the menu is labelled as vegan. They were being very polite about it and were sorry for causing upset. I explained that I don't think it was unreasonable to expect, when ordering "the vegan dish", that the dish would all be vegan. They said they would talk to the staff. All that said, the food here is very nice (without the butter confusion). But personally I won't be going back. A gift voucher was given to a member of our party who was not affected by being given non-vegan food.

The perfect place to have morning coffee (and cake!) or a light lunch, following a wander around the quirky historical town of Faversham. Alternative diets are well catered for, whether you are vegan, dairy free or gluten free. The homemade soups are delicious and there are always several choices of cake. A variety of hand crafted items are displayed around the cafe, for viewing and purchasing, and there's a really friendly atmosphere.

During Faversham Book Festival in February lots of eating places were overcrowded, so we revisited this lovely building and had a great experience. The food was just what we wanted (light lunches) with excellent coffee, the atmosphere tranquil, and most pleasant of all was the personal contact with the people who make and serve the food. Gluten-free desserts were an added bonus.

Fantastic service and such friendly and helpful staff. Congratulations to the lady doing the cooking as she does such a remarkable job. She never appears to be flustered and just keeps calm and gets on with the job in hand. The rest of the staff are all very polite and helpful. Creative Creek Café, servers the most amazing dishes for people with allergies and intolerances. Not only are the meals, desserts and cakes simply heavenly but I know that I am safe to eat them without fear of illness. The food that is served in the café is simply amazing. I never leave feeling that I’ve missed out because of my allergies nor do I feel I’ve eaten dried up stale bread. The ingredients are all sourced locally and are put together with the upmost care and attention. I often feel the team treat their customers as they would her family, and this is reflected in the dishes that are served. There are other shops in Faversham that serve ‘gluten free’, however they often use the same implements to serve gluten free food as they would a normal cakes/meals which means that there is cross contamination. Being gluten free doesn’t simply stop at having the cake on show to be purchased. A massive amount of effort goes into not just the food, but the café. It has a lovely ambiance to it and you leave feeling totally relaxed! The prices are also very affordable with the whole family being able to have Sunday lunch there without breaking the bank.

I can't begin to express my joy at finding this place - quite by accident. Lovely welcome - my hopeful rather than confident enquiry 'do you have anything gluten free, I am a coeliac?' elicited the response from owner/chef 'so am I, and lactose intolerant'. I could have wept - immediately I knew this would be safe to eat as all questions about cross-contamination could be by-passed. The bonus was the superb quality, integrity and deliciousness of the food served. Joy. The menu clearly shows all official allergens and if you have any others Lorraine will be very helpful and knowledgeable about them. I had sweet potato & butternut squash chowder, buckwheat bread and elderflower press to drink... absolutely all homemade. I have a good appetite and I was full after that so I bought gluten free Victoria Sandwich and chocolate brownies to bring home. I've just eaten the Victoria and it was excellent - light yet substantial, delicious and beautifully cooked. This will be my 'go-to' place to eat in Faversham. A haven for people who have serious dietary requirements, and 'normals' wouldn't know it wasn't just superb food. They even have a gluten, wheat and dairy free coffee morning every last Thursday of the month 10-11:30am with cookery demonstrations and a consultant nutritionist on hand then. Well done, thank you for catering for us weirds, superb!

Nice space, but we found the staff a little unfriendly and they made no effort at all to suggest suitable food for our children. The menu is not child-friendly in terms of savory dishes. The menu is also a little unambitious. Fine for Faversham but wouldn't last a week in London. Soup, cake and or bubble and squeak? Not good enough. This cafe could do so much better if the owners had the imagination to offer more varied and ambitious dishes, and gave their staff some training to be pleasant and friendly to their customers. A disappointment.

Stopped for coffee & cakes after wandering around the antique shops around the creek. Wonderful light & airy space with the exhibits on all walls plus a little cute shop at the front with ceramics etc. The staff here are really friendly & even gave us the recipe for the totally delicious black forest torte. My husband & I had the brioche chocolate pudding which was genuinely amazing. Everything tastes so freshly baked with quality ingredients. We stumbled across this but will definitely be returning to sample more of the cakes or juts for coffees & teas after shopping.

The gallery and kitchen café are on Albion street, Faversham's conservation area jewel. There's a small gallery area showing local artists' work, a decent little gift shop (cards, jewellery, mementoes) and a really friendly kitchen café, serving fresh-cooked vegan. veggie and organic dishes. All look and taste fresh and the kitchen and serving staff are welcoming, relaxed, friendly and chatty. It's an honest place to eat and drink (and the coffee is really good too). All a bit 70s-ish Cranks… and better for it!

I regularly have coffee, cake or cheese scones here and they are all freshly made or even baked before your eyes, all excellent .Have just also been for Sunday lunch here with partner and friend and we had the most fantastic special to mark the end of the game season-pheasant Cassoulet was moist (with exquisite flavours in the juice) on a bed of really light but fabulous bubble and squeak. Having been here a few times, I can certainly recommend the Bacon, Egg and Bubble n Squeak ...and pretty much every Soup that has been on the menu (make sure you have an artisan scone with that). Very satisfying. As for sweet things, the treacle tart and clotted cream definitely keeps the sugar lows away - you won't need to eat anything for the rest of the day!!! There are a variety of other cakes and biscuits but I always end up with the treacle tart. The kitchen staff are always friendly, and helpful when you can't make up your mind what to eat. Even when they are rushed off their feet, they will try and see to customers as soon as they can. This cafe has become progressively busier since I started coming here upon my move to Faversham in 2012, thanks to Lorraine's meals, both gluten free and dairy free. My Mum is Coeliac so a visit here is always welcomed.Cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is also a gallery space. You are surrounded by art works (changed almost every week), so I don't leave without taking a look around, including the gift shop. Lots of interesting, unique and affordable work for sale.Love it!

Stopped in for a coffee during the hop festival. Had the misfortune to witness a bit of a argument going on with anther customer and the owner. The customer had complained that the slice of cake he had been given was too small for the price paid. The owner came up to him and instead of listening to his concerns seemed more bothered about the fact he had dared to say anything about the 'produce' stating the customer was also paying for the environment and that he didn't have to go there if it wasn't suitable. The owner then proceeded to point out the poor customer to a lady who walked in, stating "he is complaining about the food'! Extremely bad customer service with no personal skills at all.Listen to your customers, don't bad mouth them and certainly do not ban them for daring to speak up for themselves. By the way I also thought it was a measly portion...and the coffee was also average so you can ban me too!!

I always enjoy my food here, it's tops as far as I'm concerned and I'm seriously fussy. Art gallery and fab food, brilliant. Service can be a bit slow but in France this is viewed as the norm. Nothing is too much effort and the chef will also give cooking advice, now that is always a good sign! I wish they would have the cookery classes again :-)If I had to pick a fault it would be the smell, perhaps it's damp but it does put me off.

Happened to wander into the gallery on a Tuesday and, although the art wasn't to our taste, the food certainly was! A generous bowl of homemade vegetable soup, with identifiable pieces of root vegetables (in celebration of Autumn), accompanied by the most delicious cheese scone and butter, was more than enough to fill me up. This was very reasonably priced at less than £5 and the two ladies serving the food were very friendly. Unfortunately, I had no room to try the delicious-looking homemade cake (some of which were gluten and/or dairy free) and I can't comment on the coffee (per one of the other reviewers). However, the customer toilet/washroom was spotless and the hand wash was Ecover, in keeping with the cafe's policy of trying to be as ethical as possible. If you find yourself in Faversham and want a peaceful lunch which is very tasty and reasonably priced, you should try this café.

This is a lovely cafe right in the centre of the art gallery, always spacious and light, and lots to look at with the changing exhibitions. Also a very friendly atmosphere, you are bound to bump into a friend or see someone to chat to. The menus always offer gluten-free options, and Lorraine the chef aims to cook the dishes from fresh - the short wait is always worth it. This is like the most wonderful home-cooking, you feel good just to be there. She contrives memorable light flavours, everything is presented very prettily, on nice big plates and there are fresh flowers or even little artworks on each table. We recently had some gorgeous buckwheat pancakes filled with fish and spinach - they were marvellous. She makes very interesting bubble-and-squeak dishes, too, and soups, and roasts, and Italian dishes.... all very good. I'm not much of a cake-eater but she always has scones, or flapjacks, or cakes on offer... Service is also professional and kindly. I do sometimes wish they had a licence as a glass of wine with a meal can be celebratory, but the ginger beer or fruit teas are a healthy alternative. So, I thoroughly recommend the Gallery Kitchen Café. I also very much like the great big clock at the back of the kitchen - it sends me back to work, otherwise I'd be in there lingering all day.

My husband and I have used this restaurant for many years - welcomed by friendly staff, and a varied, reasonably priced menu. It provides an important service to the community and to those visiting the area.
