Visited as a family with 2 young children Positives Gails offers a bakery choice in willesden green, when there is an absence of alternatives. We eat regularly from there, chosing from their range of baked goods and coffees, as in Willesden Green, where else can we go? Their sourdough bread is nice enough, as are their range of bakeries, and coffee isn’t bad. Negatives 1) no cash business 2) The company are fine with having one person on a laptop treating it like a home office nursing a cold coffee all day on what should be a table for 4. So it can often be a challenge to find anywhere to sit if you want to eat in and try their cooked selections. I contacted them, and said, hey, on sundays god said to have a day of rest, so how about a no laptop day so people can get a seat who might want to eat your range of hot foods. Company response was that they don’t care, which is a terrible attitude. We now go further afield more often than not.

Delicious food, though pricey enough and excellent service. We had the mushroom and onion quiche which was freshly made, it was vey light and tasty.

Always a treat, but so expensive these days that it is increasingly rare that we indulge. Service can be patchy (to be fair that is true of most places these days). They got a recent takeaway order very wrong which we only realised when we got home... They don't take cash at the moment.

Staff are completely out of their depth with even simple things like taking an order for coffee and the customers are an afterthought. Also hugely expensive for what it offers. Used to love Gail's but they've obviously expanded too fast and are now rarely worth a visit.

Shocking, shocking, shocking service at very high price. Don’t give me wrong, the food is good but highly priced though. The terrible thing is the staff attitude, some especially believe they are genius but they are not as the customer service is appalling, made us feeling like just another number and not guests I normally go ( actually used ) 3 times a week for bakery and other things, not anymore after the arrogance and extremely snobby attitude of some of the staff who shouts coffee, tea, whatever and make you feel like, if you want the coffee get up your bum from the chair and come and get it, after the high price and my coffee not necessarily better then any other average coffee shop , at £3.10 for an americano coffee and a small macchiato at £2.60, which is more expensive then Mayfair, table service would just be justified with the price and the number of staff behind the bar (4 ) Noticed also there was a gentleman who could hardly walk because his leg injury, when the barman called his coffee and the gentleman asked if they could serve for him was completely ignored, appalling. Thanks for my wife saw the whole situation and got up for him and brought his coffee. Well, this was my last time I put my foot in this place for sure and rightly so I would recommend to my friends.

I've been visiting thi shop for a long time but recently the service and coffee quality is bad. It's been already 3 times kn a row when I was served a boiling cappuccino and was very badly done. I don't think the staff has enough training to do a good coffee. The coffee should not be made bowling as the espresso shot will burn and the taste is bad. No sugar available I have to ask at the counter cutting other people to get some. Not impressed at all. Bakery is good as usual but the rest nope. Look into get train your batista. I'm making coffee for more than 15 year.

I have visited Willesden Green branch twice now while waiting for my bus to work (I have around 8-10 mins) The staff are absolutely lovely and attentive!! I gave them the responsibility of deciding my coffee for me as I was in a rush the first time and too tired to decide if I wanted a strong one or not, they were so engaging and really helped me out! Also asked for the best pastrie that wasn't too sweet on my second visit. The BEST Almond Croissant I haver ever had in my life! I hope my local Gail's is just as friendly and good when they open in Greenwich. The little savoury rolls look so good, can't wait to try! They even have a loyalty card for coffee! I LOVE A LOYALTY and I will return! Thank you Gail's Willesden Green for brightening my morning before work on both occasions!

I always forget to write reviews of my local places, but I thought I'd take a minute just to say how lovely everyone is here. I don't know what some of these negative reviews are about because I have been coming to this coffee shop a lot lately (usually with my laptop while WFH) and I always have a great time here. The staff are always SO lovely, welcoming and friendly, and the environment is always so positive - you can tell that they actually enjoy working here and I love seeing their interactions with other customers too. To any negative reviewers - if you think the staff are being rude to you maybe you should reflect a little and make sure that you are nice to them as well (and to people in the service industry in general), because all the team members I've met here have been amazing. + as I said, it's a great place to work too if you want a change of scenery while WFH. The wifi is great, I have been able to have video meetings from here with no connection issues. The coffee is great too and they do amazing sandwiches and cinnamon buns All in all, big thanks to the whole team for always being so kind and welcoming, I love coming here :)

I have been helping small businesses and my local community since the beginning of the pandemic and Gail's was no exception. I've been buying bread and (very expensive) cakes and fruit juices for my child and wife at the Willesden Green branch regularly. A member of staff this morning (white, male, standing at the cashier, wearing light coloured outfit on 4th March 2021, at around 8:10am - you have CCTV, feel free to watch the recording) got angry at another customer then chose to pass his frustration on me, for no valid reasons. I came in to buy a baguette, was wearing a face mask and standing a few meters away from everyone in the shop. That was not just poor behaviour, the way how he dismissed me (he shouted "WAIT OUTSIDE") was extremely RUDE. Rude people don't impress me. As another reviewer said "you can't employ (rude) Oxford street manners in Willesden Green". I just left the shop. I shall never step foot or buy anything from that Gail's ever again, even after the pandemic (we used to go for breakfast or lunch there with friends, but no more after today's incident). From now on, I'll buy my bread and cakes for my son and wife from Paul's or Sainsbury's. It's cheaper as well and I won't have t deal with rude staff.

My teenage daughter assures that this is the best place in Willesden green for bubble tea / boba - especially the mango flavour. The desserts are always fresh and delicious too.

It was rather unfortunate for the cafe that their coffee machine broke down this morning as it took nearly half an hour to get 2 coffees (26 minutes to be precise). Two other customers in front of us also got their coffees 25 mins after their order was taken. When our 2 coffees did arrive one was incorrect. We had also purchased 2 doughnuts, which looked absolutely lovely in the display, however I agree with other reviewers - not the best we have ever had - doughnuts a bit tough ie. not fresh (?). With the 30 minute wait, we would have expected the coffees to have been refunded at the very least !! The 2 coffees were very small, 2 doughnuts for £15:40 - bit of a rip off. Have had better artisan cakes and coffees for less in London at other independent retailers. Will not be returning. 856/100 min characters

Such kind warm staff. Spilt a drink by mistake and all they cared about was making me another drink rather than the mess I’d made. Didn’t embarrass me any further. Lovely coffee, always lovely staff.

The staff were so uninviting and seemed like they hated their job, had to ask 5 times where to pay after having a look at what I want and the guy completely ignored me and left it for his colleague who also seemed very unbothered and monotone when I finally did get served. As for the doughnuts, It was my first time trying them. They look amazing but tasted so underwhelming, chocolate and salted caramel had a slightly burnt taste and the “salted caramel” was definitely not salted caramel, just tasted like burnt caramel. The vanilla was just plain and bland no real flavour so I was really hoping the blueberry cheesecake one would be good but it was also a disappointment. You get slight hints of blueberry then it’s just tastes like whipped cream. The only good thing about the doughnuts were the amount they were filled inside but it’s a shame they don’t taste as good as they look

The servers are very impatient, except for one woman, perhaps of Polish origin. He is very nice, but everyone else is a condescending phlegm. The drinks ordered are very tasteless, battered and not enough compared to the size ordered. We've been coming here for years, but this was probably the last time.
