GAIL's Bakery St Johns Woods in City of London, Westminster

What is happening to this branch?! I just purchased a blueberry brioche, the size is reduced to a mini size (priced as the original) there is no custard in this only a partially burnt dry mini brioche with few blueberries on top!! No custard whatsoever! Refer to photos!

I’m a frequent customer at Gail’s and often go to this branch for coffee or to get some pastries. Pastries and food is always a high quality. This particular Gail’s branch participates in Too Good To Go - you can order a surprise bag of food which wasn’t sold that day. On Monday 1 April I picked up the surprise bag and saw that they put a loaf of bread in the bag. When I asked the staff if they could slice the bread with their machine, the lady gave me a rather arrogant response that they don’t slice the bread for Too Good To Go customers. I couldn’t bother to argue with her but I found this response extremely rude, unprofessional and ridiculous - it’s not that hard to put a loaf in the machine and press a button.

Nice tea. Servers slow and chatting not very friendly or helpful. Refused to heat something for my husband. Other branches much friendlier

What a shower . All four till servers distracted by problem with soup whilst customers wait in growing uncomfortable line . Seem unprofessional for baristas

Very weak Cappucino, should have sent it back, but could not be bothered as I will not be in area too soon again

Ran by an very rude lady. Been rude to not only me but others as well. Extremely cold and off with me for bringing my dog inside, yet the woman in front of me did the same and was not told off by other staff, only me as this woman came on shift. I really don’t see the problem as all the food is raised and glassed off and simply ordering a quick takeaway coffee, but whatever. The educated and sane way to handle this is to have a sign on the door saying “no dogs allowed inside”. Not to shout at people and belittle them. The woman is short in stature, short hair and glasses. Very very cold expressionless behaviour. Whenever i go in and she isn’t there, there is never a problem. However, she is a nightmare. Don’t like people? Why work a client facing job?!

I love Gail’s, I always use it as I work in a school nearby so I go almost twice a week to grab a Chai or a little treat. Today, I went in and ordered my usual Chai Latte with Oat milk and a snack. When I had a sip of my drink, realised I have got a latte instead, so I went back thinking I had taken the wrong order. I addressed the same member of staff and I politely said to him that I thought I had taken the wrong drink as I realised it was a latte instead of a Chai. I was SO shocked when he actually said that I was wrong and I had ordered a Latte, I said no, I ordered a Chai, simply because I never have coffee midday and never order one, and he said no, you asked for a Latte. Then he said, but do you want to change it? I was so taken back that I said, I will keep it, but it’s going to take time for me to step back in that Gails. And now that St John’s Wood has so many new cafes, I may never bother.

The food is delectable, freshly made and one of the best bakeries around. Great way to start your morning with a chocolate cake and coffee from here!

週末の朝、遅めの時間に行ったせいか、プレーンのスコーンはなくて、メープルくるみのスコーンにしました。とてもおいしかったで す。ハード系のパンもおいしそうだったので、通って色々食べてみようと思います。チェーン店ですが、丁寧に作られているかんじがします。小さなお店で外まで並んでいました。

A great place to stop by for morning coffee and pastries or lunch. It is very bright, clean and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem to be extra busy at all times. I have tried a couple of their morning breads, scones as well as coffee and it is all good. I didn’t know they have other locations throughout London and came across a few others, but this location seems to be the largest of the ones I have seen so far. Will be back to try other variety of their baked goods.

Staying in St John’s Wood means a morning trip to Gail’s for a delicious breakfast sandwich, quiche, scone or roll! Every day I have tried something different and I have been pleased with it all. They also have lunch selections and seating inside and outside. Always a line to the door but it goes very fast and everyone working there is helpful and friendly!

Excellent spot for scrambled eggs on sourdough and smooth tasting coffee. I also recommend the honey cake, the ricotta and polenta cake and their croissants!

Worth a visit for breakfast. Both had scrambled free range eggs on French brown sourdough bread. The eggs were light and fluffy on the most tasty sourdough. Had cappuccino with meal. There are many other choices of pastries and breads. They are limited with some seating outside and tables of 2 inside. They are quite popular.

Small bakery offering good pruducts. We were lucky to find seating for 4 to eat lunch. They were very accomodating to us. I believe more seating would go a long way. Seating indoor or outside. Sandwiches and bakery products. Great place for a quick lunch or to pick up baked goods.

Messed up the coffee order and then staff were rude when I pointed it out - unforgivable when you have countless other coffee shops, delis and bakeries a short walk away!

First time in here. Very busy ( around 08:30 ) we managed to find 2 adjacent tables inside ( rainy outside ). The young man at the till who seemed to take our order needed major help from his senior colleague as he was either sleepy or just a beginner. My Almond Croissant has nothing to do with the French croissants. It was like almonds on a piece of bread in the shape of a croissant. Apart from only one member of staff , the rest seem to be struggling
