For the cost of the food, the service and helpfulness was not great. £18 for a Salmon bagel, which i asked if i could just have a cold bagel with cream cheese in it, unfortunately this seem impossible and a ham and cheese croissant which I have had better in Aldi was rather poor. Very rare I leave bad reviews or any at all. Unfortunately will not be returning after I use Gail's frequently.

Whilst sitting enjoying a coffee waiting for our hot chocolate and cake to arrive it was called out. My friend returned with it saying he had just been scolded by the manager with no further explanation so I went over to find out what had happened. I was met with a very irritated manager and her 3 colleagues telling me that we had apparently mocked them calling out the hot chocolate implying that we had mocked one of her staffs accent. I was actually stunned by this accusation that as s 36 year old woman who goes there’s pretty regularly I was seemingly being accused of not only having done something I hadn’t but that I was doing it in some kind of racist way. I obviously vehemently denied and was actually pretty angered by this accusation and all this person kept saying was that she was the manager and tried to get her colleagues to back her completely imaginary accusation. I had two friends with me who were completely bewildered by what she had accused “one of us” of and a room full of customers. The best I got from her is sorry if you think you didn’t say it. This person should not be in charge of anything customer service related based on this fantasy based interaction. She ruined the rest of our catch up and as a parting gift said “enjoy your drink” in a really condescending way. Please Can Gail’s try to encourage their employees not to randomly accuse their paying customers of outbursts and racism. Ironically we were trying to celebrate the first day of Purim, a Jewish holiday!

Visited on a busy Friday afternoon. Coffee lovely , cinnamon bun beautiful Toilets filthy and tables could do with a wipe. Maybe it was because it was busy but hygiene needs to go further than a bottle of sanitiser on the counter

I have started to buy a bread from this backery as I have bought one sourdough the other day at it was delish! Bread keep fresh for at least two days and is still good after another 3. Staff friendly but on a few occasions shop can get crazy busy

Came here Monday this week and had to wait and wait and wait for food order, undelivered after >30 minutes. Had to leave without it - restaurant not even very busy. Kitchen staff visibly in conversation much of the time, not really bothered with getting the orders out. Gail’s Chiswick dysfunctional and not well managed, best avoided.

Top product and fantastic service.Camt rate enough. 3d visit I got really shocked that they remembered me from last time I was there.Well done to the team and the manager 👏

The Good: - The service is always great! The Bad: - None. The Good to Know: - Due to it's popularity, sometimes it can get busy and somethings can sell out (like anywhere else). Top Tip: - Try the carrot cake, it is amazing!

Never disappoints! We started our London quarantine with the sweet and savory box, a cheese and chive scone and a ham, comte and leek quiche. Fantastic selection, beautifully prepared. Last visited London and Gail’s four years ago, and just as good.

Staff stared behind their masks as had a 4yr old with me? Hardly said a word quite silent no please or thank you was like walking in to vulgaria in chitty chitty bang bang waiting for the child catcher to arrive! Horrible atmosphere will not go again with waft directly opposite who are friendly & chatty i would rather pay the extra & shop there.

Great bread but why is the cashier at the Chiswick branch not wearing a mask? Was hands and wear a bloody mask! I won’t be back until hygiene and common sense is present! If she can’t wear a mask because of health reasons then she should be at home and not working in a busy shop! Come on Gail’s! I don’t want Covid with my sourdough!

Obviously I will be taking my complaint to the relevant authorities but I ate a sausage roll from here that was stone cold in the middle and neon pink. I vomited in the street on Chiswick high road very shortly after eating. Too stressed and embarrassed to go back in to complain at the time but I wanted to warn everyone. I’ve never written a food review before and am not a serial complainer.

Buying bread in Gail for a very long time but today I have bought my favourite bread packed into plastic and because of this NO MORE CRISPY SKIN!!! Please back to paper!!! The bread-skin because of plastic is now soft and cooked!!! Beyond disappointed...

We really like the pecan crumb cake of Gail’s, so whenever we pass by we buy one. But today the cashier behaved so awfulI I don’t think I will ever go there.

Good coffee and cakes and service but the toilet must be cleaned more often... the food suddenly tastes not so good when you see there’s no hand wash or no tissue left... just wander what the staff have touched...

Freshly baked pastries and breads, good coffee. Warm scones are ny favourite! Very professional and friendly staff.

I love my local cafes and I like the fact that Gail's opens earlier than others on Sundays. However, I’ve been 3 times in the recent past and on no occasion were they able to serve me a plain croissant. They don't even suggest they've sold out, more that it’s a strange request. For a place that commendably bakes on site, there is no excuse for not having the most regular item imaginable to have with your coffee. To make things worse, on the most recent occasion my wife ordered me a ham and cheese croissant as a substitute; it was a warm unappealing mess that seemed to have the weight of a house brick. The coffees and teas are fine, but even then the drinks are plonked on the table, not served. Very disappointing.

Venden hermosos panes, pasteles, rollitos de verduras y salchichas. No te pierdas este excelente lugar.

Una super sopa (maíz dulce y cilantro al curry) que también es vegano. El pan de masa fermentada es excelente, pero la sopa es tan buena que se puede comer con o sin pan de masa fermentada recién horneado. Es muy muy buenoEl bollo de arándanos es tan fresco que podrías ver el cuchillo rebanar. La fruta agrega humedad y sabor perfectos, muy contentos con esta visita.

they refurbed the site and now it looks great but ... why not re furb the product offering and the team, they are really so grumpy here most of time

We came in for tea and cake, specifically a pot of breakfast tea and to share a generous piece of chocolate brownie covered in pecan nuts. This place is not cheap but the quality is excellent.

Nice food and breads, but where to sit? Have been a few times now and last time had to perch on edge of communal table. All other tables occupied by single customers on computers looking set in for a few hours. Recently visited local hairdresser and topic of conversation amongst other clients was how it was hardly worth visiting Gail’s as no available tables.

Always grab takeaway simply because people are shoe horned into a small that makes for a non relaxing enjoyable experience. Customers & waiting staff can barely move between tables, items on table moved or knocked. This what I think off when I think of Gail’s

My absolute favorite bakery. Their breads are amazing. Expect a queue as soon - or even before - they are open. Inside it is always buzzing. It is small inside, sometimes it does get a little too crowded for comfort. I’d always go for my to-die-for cinnamon bun, and cappuccino. If I get breakfast there, the simple smoked salmon and eggs on sourdough bread is delicious. The staff could be a little warmer and friendlier, tho. But I always love Gail’s in Chiswick :)

I’ve been frequenting GAIL’s on Chiswick High Street for quite some time, perhaps once or twice per week for the past year.

A menudo, detente aquí y agarra un pan en nuestro camino a casa. La masa agria de San Francisco nunca decepciona, la mejor que hemos tenido. A veces me siento tentado a probar algo nuevo, pero con resultados mixtos, el pan de Granny Smith que una vez no hice en mi lista de favoritos. Siempre ocupado cuando visitamos, pero siempre vale la pena esperar, mantén el buen trabajo.

En Londres para visitar a los amigos y al teatro. Entre los viajes de teatro tenía mucha hambre. Tan difícil en el centro de Londres para encontrar comida fresca y no vegetariana. Gail estaba medio lleno, así que decidí zambullirme. El servicio era bueno. Agradable y amistoso. Y rapido La comida era horrible. Quiche de verduras rancio. Empapado horrible pastelería. Yo elegí Simplemente no podía soportar el estómago aunque no había comido desde la mañana y eran más de las 7 de la tarde. El café era pasable y un gran servicio. La comida fue desgraciadamente

Great range of baked products, best Almond Croissant I've eaten in a very long time. The cheese and ham croissant also got a very good reaction, great tea and coffee selection too.

Very poor service, had to wait over 10 mins for an already on display sandwich, soup arrived without the advertised bread, boring coffee, pretentious expensive but not particularly special bread. Ideal for all the “yummy-mummies” in the area

El servicio aquí no fue excelente, se olvidaron de hacer mi comida y me senté esperando veinte minutos preguntándome dónde estaba. Mi té era terrible (lo que, sin duda, la jovencita hizo por mí cuando lo pedí), ya que las hojas de té estaban llenas hasta arriba, por lo que era demasiado fuerte para beber. En el interior, está súper abarrotado y es casi imposible atravesarlo en una silla de ruedas, el diseño debe replantearse para que las sillas de ruedas y los buggies puedan pasar sin pedirle a todos los que se mueven amablemente. La cola de personas también está más o menos encima de las personas que se sientan a comer, ya que están muy juntas. Pocas moscas también estaban volando alrededor de la comida, ya que se ha dejado al descubierto, algo que debería rectificarse, ¿debería haber tapaderas en la comida seguramente? Por último, pero no menos importante, el baño en este lugar era asqueroso, parecía que no se había limpiado en mucho tiempo. No se molestaría en volver.

I have just visied brunch in chiswick. It was my first time in Gails. The girl( i suppose was a manager) has explained me the breakfasts as i was as confused because there is so many choices! The coffee is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere in the shop is nice. Lovely a local bakery with a staff that knows each other from some time. Willl come again for sure

A great example of how a shop can survive purely on the basis of its food which is exemplary. However, when it comes to the service, the staff are lack lustre, slow and quite frankly, couldn’t show less interest in serving you.

Is a good place to get bakery food, recommended, but coffee is pretty tasteless and service (with only a few exceptions) is not friendly or helpful which you would expect for a local cafe...

started off well way back,, getting down the hill, bad ventilation, your clothes stinks of gruyere cheese croissant, winter summer,, try to maintain the standards that you once held

The place was busy, it being a rainy Sunday, and when we got a table, it wasn't cleared very quickly, but when the breakfast arrived, the pancakes, and blueberries were delicious. The coffee was better than average. Can also recommend the breads and carrot cake!

Me paré pasado por mi favorito de almendra croissant, estaba sentado lado disfrutando del sol, pero mi café rápido tomó más de 20 minutos para llegar. Yo ya fui y recordó el personal, que eran maleducados en volver diciendo que estaba muy ocupado, pero no había nadie esperando ‍ ♀ ️ utilicé me encanta este lugar, pero hay muchas cafeterías en Chiswick quizás es hora de probar.

After a few times going for their “Used to be Amazing Mocha” is getting really tasteless... very absent minded girls... they made me a Latte instead of Mochas... getting bland and tasteless....

I like Gail's and this one in Chiswick seems to operate at their usual high standards. Excellent breads and pastries with very good coffee. Service in this location can be a bit hit-and-miss depending on the time of day. But what an array of fabulous food!

We have been visiting GAIL's for about two years now, and when visiting Chiswick House & Gardens last year I specifically researched in advance to find out if there was a branch nearby. I have to say that this was not the best branch ever, with staff telling customers to 'just get their own' items - a sign or some other clear indication that the branch is self-service would be better. However, similarly to the service problems at the Northcote Road branch, I saw plenty of other customers being served by staff, so it perhaps depends on who they 'like the look of'!

Walked on this nice cafe in chiswick while exploring the neighborhood. They have a good creative selection of sandwiches, pancakes, pastries. The place itself is spacious and light. Comfortable. Enjoyed our small lunch here.

Really nice coffee and food. Can be a bit cramped, bigger premises would be better. Service can be slow when busy.

After a slightly odd exchange about ordering drinks (hot chocolate couldn't be made with oat milk sadly, not sure why as other coffee chains can) the guy serving us figured out our order and was friendly enough although seemed a bit distracted, I think possibly because it was empty when we came in and it was a shift change or something.

Paramos a investigar, nos alegramos de haberlo hecho. Este lugar era un hervidero de actividad. Mucha gente vuelve a comprar las últimas creaciones del horno y llevarlas a casa. Un montón de opciones en pantalla y etiquetado para los menos bien informado. Nos tomamos un café y un trozo de tarta de chocolate rico, mmm. El servicio era muy bueno y las mujeres estaban constantemente limpieza y cambiar su visualización interna. Bien vale la pena.

Uno de un buen número de cafés en Baker artesanales Chiswick High Road, con una amplia gama de panes y pasteles en el ventana y en el mostrador. Así que es un buen lugar para tomar un café a media mañana o el té de la tarde, y hay suficiente capacidad para significar que generalmente pueden conseguir una mesa. Algunas personas vienen aquí a sentarse y trabajar así, y nadie le molestaban a dejar si Quédese un rato. Pero el servicio puede ser lento cuando hay una cola.

La calidad de la comida era muy alto, utilizan ingredientes y los sabores son preciosas. Un sustancial de tapas para 4 llegó a 40 libras, así que no es demasiado caro.

Metimos en un desayuno rápido en mi propio. Gran selección de pan y me sentí como un regalo además de ser saludable. Los huevos son huevos, pero creo que los huevos revueltos en pan fermentado fueron las mejores que he tenido. Tiempo para una taza de té era doloroso, pero el personal parecía estar contra ella debido a un descanso o algo como policía con guantes azules en investigar algo.

Esta es posiblemente una parte de panaderías cadena, pero no diluidos en calidad. Pasteles - excelente. Galletas de avena, salvado de muffins scones, Berry de chocolate, tartas, pasteles de coco cranberry! Muy fresco, muy gratificante. Cadena de tienda Starbucks pone en vergüenza. Este lugar fue tres veces mejor. No estoy seguro si sus pasteles cálidos. Hmmm. No estoy seguro sobre la mantequilla añadida. Hmmm. Bien, para este lugar y pasteles - excelente. Conseguir una caja para ir, como una panadería. Agradable. No es barato.

Very busy because the foods just gorgeous All naturally produced beautiful flavours cooked on site we devoured the cheese straws The Parmesan chicken bun ,also some gorgeous quiche delicious coffee etc

i've been going to Gail's Queens Park for years now and lately, I've noticed, the service has gone way down. the food and coffee is still fantastic, but when you order at the till it seems that some staff are simply not listening and you end up repeating your order numerous times only with it to be gotten wrong in th end.

Nos fuimos a Gail para una taza de café y pastel en una concurrida domingo por la tarde. La panadería es muy popular y muy concurrida. Encontramos la única mesa a la izquierda que tuvimos que compartir con un gran número de personas. Es enorme, y abarca tanto el espacio necesario. El café era bueno, pero guay, me gusta mi café caliente! El chocolate brownie era buena, pero el bollo era normal. Sin embargo, el bollo de fruta deliciosa. Yo era bastante decepcionante, ya que había oído hablar mucho sobre Gail que esperaba que mucho mejor de lo que es.

Nos hemos estado alojando en Chiswick y desayunar en Gail's durante dos semanas ahora y disfrutar plenamente de cada bocado. La leche es el mejor que he tenido en Londres y tan bueno como cualquier otro que he tenido en otro lugar.

I asked for orange and chocolate tart but got orange muffin. Asked for Americans with hot milk but got cold milk. Why give me the option then ignore my choice of milk temperature?

Great food, primarily a bakery but variety of cooked dishes served at brunch. Hard to choose from the selection of cakes and biscuits, they all look amazing. they do really good flat whites, which can be hard to find. lovely staff.

The nicest cafe on Chiswick High road. Try the bran muffins and the chocolate loaf cake. Really delicious!

Nice cosy place with lovely coffee and pastries for breakfast . However is very busy during the morning/ afternoon . Healthy salads to take away and handmade sandwiches .

Yo sólo ir fuera café aquí. El lugar siempre está lleno en la mañana con carrito padres de boda. El servicio encimera siempre es lento. El café no es muy buena y no hay leche o leche desnatada se ofrecen alternativas. los pasteles son un poco pretencioso aunque me encantan los bollos de canela.

Evitar! Lleno de momias de delicioso con sus Niñeras promoviendo sus carritos tamaño SUV de bebé. Opino que su masa de pan deben ser entregados por Securicor, es tan darned caro! Si caminas a 20 metros al oeste de la zona de desastre, descubrirá "La tienda de pan" - una mejor opción de vida, mejores sabores y en su mayoría glúten, a mitad de precio!

He estado aquí dos veces en un par de semanas y siempre pared con pared madres y bebés en los fines de semana.

Un buen descanso a la norma. Se siente como si estuvieras en una pequeña panadería en la ciudad de Nueva York. Un atractivo menú de desayuno que es diferente a otros lugares en Chiswick - el maíz y panqueques Bircher muesli por ejemplo - así como bienvenida favoritos tales como BLT, huevos revueltos y avena. Las raciones eran perfectas. no es demasiado grande. Self-service. Llevar también disponibles.

Es un lugar agradable para relajarse cuando no estaba llena, tomar el desayuno o pasteles. Alta calidad panes y dulces, cocidos o preparado ensaladas.

El barista afirma que el café aquí es el mejor en el mundo, pero por desgracia no reclamar cualquier otra tienda artesanal de café! Y el mejor café que varían de pueblos diferentes opiniones, así que no hay tal cosa que sería llamado un audaz dicen!

Conocimos a un colega aquí para tomar un café y un cruasán, precisamente porque se dice que tiene acceso wi-fi y necesitábamos que para nuestra reunión. El wi-fi funcionó durante dos minutos después bajamos. Un miembro del personal me prometió que lo luego desaparecieron y nunca volvió; y el wifi no volver. El café y un croissant estaban bien, a pesar de no ser excepcional (croissant un poco seco - pueden haber sido en el mostrador por mucho tiempo) y el lugar nos sentimos un poco caótica.
