We had booked, but were running 30 minutes late so messaged and they kept the table without issue. Decent choice of food. Stew was very good, burger was fresh and chips were well made. Very friendly service despite being busy.

Very nice place for lunch; we had booked a table, which was ready for us on arrival. We all had a cooked meal, which was good. The only comments are that there were no vegetables served with the "stew and mash", not even a green garnish, and the beer was expensive at over £5 for a small bottle. Overall, the meal was very reasonable. The choice was fairly limited, but was seasonal, and preferable to a large menu of pre-prepared/frozen food. The service was excellent. We would happily go again.

Called in for a warm and a drink after visiting the castle. Would advise that potential customers are greeted in a more friendly way as they enquire about a table, otherwise no complaints, the decor is beautiful and the drinks are priced as expected .

Absolutely super experience at The Fuel Tank. I booked a table for a special birthday lunch for my grandmother, bringing my 2 boys & also their grandad along too during half term. I emailed in ahead of our visit and we had a fantastic birthday lunch! Bijay and his staff went the extra mile with table decorations and a super birthday cake! What a credit they are! Warm, friendly staff, really tasty food with good size portions and great service! Thanks Bijay for making the birthday extra special and one that won’t be forgotten. We normally enjoy a coffee and cake after a walk or cycle. Today we were both disappointed with the coffee which was weak and bitter. The soup needed a lot of seasoning and was overpriced. The cake was good though.

Arrived at 10.30am. People were eating outside. Was met at the door inside and told the place was closed due to an urgent staff meeting. We told them we had come a long way when would they reopen. She said don't know could be longer than 15 minutes. Very curt and not the usual friendly manner expected here as come quite often. No niceties or apologies. Considering the place is struggling for business I would have thought they would try and keep what business they had not just close on a whim. What staff meeting/training can't wait till after hours. Not a way to run the business. We will not be making the 50 mile round trip out here again on the off-chance they might deign to serve us

Amazing how this restaurant has turned around since it was taken over by Meadow Brown group . Great decor, amazing friendly staff and great food. Fantastic events organised in the Balloon bar too, my granddaughter absolutely loved the Cinderella event. Value for money too!

Just wanted to say thank you for the most amazing night at the Balloon bar in the Furl tank. We had a hen party with cocktail masterclass for each person followed by an afternoon tea. The venue is so lovely, and quite a unique set up for any party. The staff were all amazing, Lotte (events manager) helped us organise the event from start to finish she pulled out every stop to make sure we had everything to our specification. The afternoon was a blast and Mandip and Raj were amazing hosts and took us through our cocktail masterclass. The afternoon tea was beautiful and very fresh, they accommodated for gluten free as well as diabetic dietary requirements which was great so that everyone could have the same without feeling they had to compromise their teas. I would highly recommend and get in touch with Lotte if you have an event coming up.

Had booked to watch firework championship but decided to go early and enjoy dinner and drinks. Prebooked via website and had a lovely message back explaining they shut at 4 to then move outside for fresh pizzas but we could eat slightly earlier if we’d rather eat in the restaurant. Arrived earlier as we wanted to see the pretty restaurant and sat upstairs with an amazing view across the fields. Served by a very polite young man who couldn’t have been more helpful, the decor is so well thought out and unique. We ended up having pizzas which were fresh, hot, and tasty. We then had cocktails in the balloon bar underneath the restaurant where again staff were keen to chat and help us choose. I’ve no idea why people have written bad reviews before- we had a lovely afternoon wandering round the venues and checking out some of the little shops / yes it’s a shame some outlets are closed but there was a cute kids play area, lovely outdoor dining areas, pretty views and most importantly good food and attentive friendly staff …go visit, especially if going to an event or to see the castle. Well done to all the staff and managers for running such a clean, unique place - can’t wait to return

Rude staff, we were walked in to be barked at by a grumpy lady ‘ have you booked?’ We hadn’t so she tells us we must wait, the place was empty so I’m not sure why we had to wait, a 2nd rude waiter was called over who let us upstairs where we were the only people in a room that had 20+ tables. A long wait later he returned and took our order. It is overpriced for some average breakfast rolls. We then got ignored until we asked for the bill. We won’t return

Took a while to sort out as they don't usually open in the evs but they provided us with private dining at 7pm in the beautiful upstairs room which was just lovely. The food and service and were excellent. After dinner we had cocktails in the balloon bar which is a unique venue.. made my birthday celebratiion very memorable. We gad a great time glamping ( despite lots of rain!..would recommend) Thank you!

Called in for sandwiches on the way to a meeting on a Monday, something we have done many times before. Arrived and told they only had cheese sandwiches available after “a busy weekend”but pushed the hot options or the option of “cake” which isn’t really a substitute for lunch?! Not fancying cheese sandwiches for £10 a pop, we went to the Chequers at Woolsthorpe and had lovely chicken salad for a few quid more - would deffo recommend not bothering with the fuel tank. We were told it has recently been taken over by a third party, so perhaps that accounts for the distinct change.

The worst pizza ever. It was raw in the middle, this dough. So much cheese tasteless gloopy mass. I had vegetarians- 18 kernels of corn or 3 per wedge, sliver of pepper and onion and 2 slices of mushroom . I have not had food this bad since - well I can’t remember. I near £14 disgrace.

This once lovely place is abysmal now. Not only are nearly all of the units shut down, mainly due to lack of custom I suspect after the car parking fees were brought in. I ordered from the menu - a beetroot, goats cheese tatin with caramelised onions served with crispy fried rocket. My husband ordered the pork pie salad as there was no ploughmans. When his came the pork pie had been heated up!!! Gross. Mine was a disaster, it was a filo pasty shell with the top cut off, piled up about 2 inches solid of caramelised onion pickle, then 3 slices of cold beetroot on top, with less than a teaspoon of 'runny' goats cheese. A halo of watercress surrounded the pastry, which I am unable to eat. I complained about how awful it was and the waiter told the manager who came to see me and said this is how it is served. I referred her to the menu and she went to see chef, who apologised - apparently he was in the process of changing the menu. We had mine taken off the bill, we paid and left. Won't go back.
