We visit this place most Sundays for a carvery and it's one of the best we've ever had. The food and service is always great, loafs of choice of veg and three choices of meat with generous portions of the meat, all cooked to a high standard. Sarah the manager is always welcoming. Well worth the money and would highly recommend.

Our last meal here was an absolute disgrace, following discussions with Sara ( manager ), we agreed to visit and give them a chance to improve their standards and get back to first class. I am very pleased to say Fromebridge mill was clean, cutlery sparkling, meal excellent, hot and served perfectly, waitress could have done nothing more to improve our meal, she was excellent and friendly, nothing to much trouble…….will be happy to visit this establishment and promote it again at this vastly Improved standard, thank you Sara, keep up the standard, this is a winner ….

The four of us visited again on 5th October and as expected, our food was absolutely fantastic and excellent value for money. The Fromebridge Mill is consistently brilliant and although this is the first review I've left, we've dined here many times. The table was all ready, laid out and spotless when we arrived and as usual, the bar and waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful with a wide selection of drinks on tap. Marvin their head chef was looking after the carvery and ensuring everything was piping hot, cooked to perfection and served with a beaming smile as he made sure everyone was well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. This is without a doubt one of the very best venues around a significant area of Gloucestershire for the quality, selection and value for money of the carvery, it could quite easily be the absolute top. The usual menu doesn't disappoint either with an excellent selection of dishes and desserts to choose from. Not all of us had room for desserts (you can always share one though) and they were so nice, one was started before I had time to snap the photo! The Fromebridge Mill is really easy to find, just a few moments from Junction 13 of the M5 with a huge, free car park and plenty of space for a walk and to exercise dogs. Book a table and visit as soon as you can, you'll be absolutely thrilled and won't leave there hungry, I guarantee it.

Lovely old sympathically restored building. With the old mill workings visible inside. Right by the water. Indoor dog friendly area to eat. Plenty of parking too. A friend had the mushroom and ale pie. We had carvery. All lovely, plenty meat and lots of veg choice.

Arrived 1830. Paid for the carvery, only to be told no beef, little turkey, and gammon available. Managed to get turkey and gammon, but meagre portions, huge Yorkshire puddings that fill half the plate. Finished my veg and went for more vegetables only to be told that you only get one pass at the carvery. At 2000 hours a vast amount of every vegetable was disposed of. Shame, as at other carvery restaurants you can go as many times as you want fo

Came here today for a carvery with my family and can't put into words how good the experience was. The food was top-notch, one of the best roasts I've had in a very long time. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommended will definitely be returning when we next are up that way.

We hadn't been here in years. We stopped going because it used to be absolutely rammed with tables and chairs. Navigating to get to the bar or loo was a nightmare. Things are a lot easier now. Staff were friendly and knew the business and their jobs. I've dropped one star on service simply because I would have preferred to order at the table. Everything else was absolutely fine, including the 'gluten-free' menu. This made ordering a lot easier when you have a coeliac person in your group. Good choice of pub meals, cooked and presented well. 2 of our group really liked the katsu curry.

Usual good value food as usual for the Greene King group. Abbott ale was not too well looked after. Toilet was tiny (I couldn't get into the one seated one as it was so small) and the whole toilet was totally inadequate for a busy pub.

Food and service was very disappointing tonight which is unusual. Both meals were luke warm and the chips were cold. The waitress brought us new chips each after a long wait and we had eaten the rest of our meals. I ordered on the app too which took ages to arrive. Also, Greene King has just changed the menu and there doesn't appear to be as much choice - bring back the crispy chicken in a basket!!! May be giving Fromebridge Mill a miss for a while.

Having moved away from the area 15 years ago, decided to take my wife there as we were in the area, especially as it was a Greene King pub. The place was filthy, cobwebs and big spiders everywhere, quite off putting. The food was pricey. My wife had lasagne, it didn’t come with chips but you could have a “large” salad instead of garlic bread. My wife wanted salad and an extra portion of chips. I had gammon and chips. My gammon was fine, even came with pineapple and a fried egg. The lasagne portion was really small and looked like it had been made days before and reheated. It was supposed to have cheese on it, not that you could tell. My wife ended up leaving half of it because it was so awful. Her salad was small and mainly red onion with a few green leaves. The toilets had seen better days in keeping with the run down nature of the place. Overall, really disappointing and not what I remembered. We won’t be going again.

My husband and I went to the Frombridge Mill for carvery today. We hadn't booked prior to visiting and it was extremely busy. All tables were booked inside until 3pm. We found a table outside. My husband reserved it while I waited in the queue. The queue was long but the staff were quick and efficient. I ordered our food and drinks and we collected our meal. There was a wide variety of meat, potatoes and vegetables and the gravy was delicious. £12.99 for a delicious Sunday roast was great value. The outside seating area is well maintained and staff were polite, friendly and efficient. We will definitely visit again

Been past many times over the years but never been in until the other day, the place is set off the road so you don't hear the sound of vehicles driving past, the place has waters falls and a weir, very nice old building and very dog friendly that you can take the dogs in to and not leave them outside, got greeted on entry and shown to the table, food is very nice, I had the stake, that was amazing, staff come around a few times to make sure we everything was ok, definitely recommend going there and will be going there again

The food, atmosphere and staff were all first rate, but the thing that we found shameful, was the fact that there were several motorcycles there, and while I don’t have a problem with motorcycles,I and no doubt others found it wrong for the management to allow them to fill up the disabled parking, and expect disabled people to struggle. No staff can say that they had not seen the bikes as they were on plain view from the restaurant. Plus my wife and others had mentioned this to the staff.

We arrived just before the time our table was booked for only to find the place in darkness. It was closed. When I rang the number the call was immediately cut off. We had to go to sainsbury's for a curry. Not impressed and so disappointed. If this place ever opens again, avoid it.
