My husband and I went to the Frombridge Mill for carvery today. We hadn't booked prior to visiting and it was extremely busy. All tables were booked inside until 3pm. We found a table outside. My husband reserved it while I waited in the queue. The queue was long but the staff were quick and efficient. I ordered our food and drinks and we collected our meal. There was a wide variety of meat, potatoes and vegetables and the gravy was delicious. £12.99 for a delicious Sunday roast was great value. The outside seating area is well maintained and staff were polite, friendly and efficient. We will definitely visit again

Once again a great carvery well worth the drive up from chipping sodbury. Marvin is a gem and takes so much pride in the quality and presentation of his food.came up with my partner and our 2 friends all very happy. 5 star's see you again soon.

Excellent service knowledgeable staff extensive gluten free menu very busy this weekend however queuing wasn't that long and polite bar staff to apologise for the wait seated quickly in the bar/museum area which is dog friendly 30 min wait on food which was all cooked fresh and absolutely amazing. Well done to the kitchen staff and all other staff for a lovely meal and friendly service 5 star again will keep coming back.

Typical chain. Friendly informal staff real people. Toilet areas could be a lot better and the store behind the Bar was very mouldy “ Retired Dilapidation Surveyor “ if it was the kitchen would not have eaten, however we had a great breakfast dispute a long wait in the very nice dog area with view of old mill workings. Will return when passing.

Excellent carvery. Marvin exceptional service with a smile, always checking the veg to see if still fresh, making sure lids are on food when servery not being used. Well done good to see carvery back best in Gloucester

100% the best carvery. Meat is so tender, toast potatoes crisp and as for cauliflower cheese so much sauce it’s delicious. Always guaranteed a big smile and great service from Marvin

Carbon Marvin, what a lovely chef, genuinely cares about the food he cooks and it’s all done with a smile on his face. The food was delicious, loved the mash, really tasty, would highly recommend visiting here. We had the carvery. Excellent x

We keep trying Fromebridge as it is somewhat local but unfortunately it's seriously gone down hill. The Carvery is terrible and that's even if they bother coming out from the kitchen to serve you! Beef is rarely nice and the Gammon is rarely there. If you order a Carvery it would be nice to be told oh we don't have this this or that is that ok? Because we wouldn't waste our money! Can't reccomend it at all.

The food, atmosphere and staff were all first rate, but the thing that we found shameful, was the fact that there were several motorcycles there, and while I don’t have a problem with motorcycles,I and no doubt others found it wrong for the management to allow them to fill up the disabled parking, and expect disabled people to struggle. No staff can say that they had not seen the bikes as they were on plain view from the restaurant. Plus my wife and others had mentioned this to the staff.

Taken by a friend on a visit to the area. Enjoyed the food. Would visit again.

So happy to hear fromebridge mill are doing there cavary again. My husband and I went this evening after booking a table which was pointless as we still had to queue to be seated by a miserable worker who dropped the menus on the table, then queued for 10 minutes at the bar to be served by miserable staff again (maybe hospitality not as it used to be). The cavery was dry, the Yorkshire puddings were that hard we couldn't cut them and gave to the member of staff who felt them as not to believe us, he took them away never to be seen again and still waiting for our Yorkshire puddings to be replaced, also a shame they use frozen potatoes and veg. It's such a shame as could be a brilliant place.

I came here for the cavery as we used to go to Rose tree farm and that had closed. It was way better, the food was tastier and better quality. Marvin had remembered us and was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Will definitely be coming again

Great restaurant open all day for food. Lovely setting on a small river with swans. The food is great with a big choice. Sunday roasts are the best here. Definitely recommend

Wow what a brilliant carvery. The choice of three meats and the amount of vegetables has improved completely since the last time I visited with my husband over two years ago. Mervyn the chef was so friendly working behind the counter and the waiting staff were lovely

My wife and I went today for the carvery and found it a great place and great area.the staff were very friendly and the chef Marvin who we knew from the rose tree farm was great,the food was great and tasted great I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants a great meal as for me I am definitely going back

Wonderful meal in a beautiful setting, staff are welcoming and the chef is also very friendly! Two huge meals, a double g&t and a cider came to £45 which I find very reasonable for the quality 💕

Carvery meat and veg delicious . Whats happened to the large yorkshire puds? Served a small cold limp soggy one . Apparently if you want 2 you have to pay for an extra ! Not that we wanted 2 but some people do . The tables for 2 diners are close to the bar area and the queue for the carvery tail right round past the people eating. Not a nice experience!

Food is fantastic, well cooked and plenty of it. The problem is the drinks... the glasses are FILTHY. I complained at the bar and was told it was the detergent in the glass washer. No it wasn't... Absolutely disgusted with the state of the glasses so I refused my drink.

I ordered the butternut squash risotto as a main course. It was presented very nicely and tasted very nice but the portion was very small and left feeling like I had just had a starter. I regret not having a vegetarian carvery

Rude ignorant staff.. didnt speak once when serving food or when throwing the menu on the table Filthy dirty restaurant Staff cleaning tables and serving food with a rag so dirty I wouldn’t clean my toilet with it. Very slow service food average at best We will never set foot in the place again!

Went for lunch with friends. The menu sounded nice but the food was well below par. On reflection, I should have sent it back. Obviously microwaved and not well done and tasteless. I only ate a small portion, and when I asked the waitress to take away she did not query why I hadn't eaten it. Not a good standard. My friends meals were also not very good.

Fantastic food I would not of come if it wasn't for the fantastic carvery it is amazing family and friends all enjoy to and this is are place to come for carvery now. I have to say Marvin was great to meet you customer service was amazing and clearly see the pride he takes with the food

Carvery is beautiful so much choice with vegetables and different types of potatoes. Generous serving of meat. Carvin marvins attention to detail and presentation is second to none... def use on a regular basis

We stayed here for 2 nights (£10 per night donation to mcmillan) very quiet and right by the river. Food was excellent ( well done Marvin the chef) and reasonably priced. Good for cycling the canal from Frampton. Will definitely make this a regular stopover

The food was great apart from the roast potatoes which were small and crispy, sprouts were a bit soggy. We don't like having dogs in the eating area especially when they start barking so that spoilt the atmosphere. Service was good as always.

Three of us visited yesterday lunch time. We were there early and it was just as well as it filled up very quickly. Lots of nice space to sit outside. The food was really nice, cooked well and good choices on the menu. Pub food but not as basic as some places. Staff were lovely and friendly and approachable. Lovely atmosphere. We will definitely visit again. A very pleasant experience.

Stopped over in a motorhome last night a Friday, along with 20 other motorhomes . £10 per motorhome given to macmillon trust. Doesn't feel like a pub car park at all. We had a carvery one of the tastiest and freshest I've had. Very busy all evening loads of seating available. Great location just off the m5

Good food but poor service due to long queues at the bar. These queues stretched into the restaurant area so people are standing behind you while to eat.

We hadnt been here for a very long time. So wasnt sure what to expect . We ( myself & husband & Toy Poodle ) sat outside as a lovely sunny afternoon.Tables were clean and no rubbish of any sort on the ground .We had a shandy each - followed by Cumberland sausage( 3 ) - mash - peas & crunchy onions ..( for myself ) and just chips for my husband. Presentation was good and the food very enjoyable . Our waitress was SARAH . a very friendly - cheerful and efficient young lady .We won't leave it so long to return next time. Thanks to all - especially Sarah .xx

Greatly improved since my last visit. Lots of choices for the carvery, thoroughly enjoyable meal and reasonably priced.

Went for carvery and was very happy the beef was cooked lovely and all of the veg was really nice, great selection as well we will definitely be back.

Great place to eat dog friendly aswell. The water fall outside makes it that bit nicer with a pint and the sun out awsome place to go

The carvery is great, but the wait for food from the main menu is a tad too long, we came on a weekday, so I'm not sure how long you'd wait at the weekend, probably longer!

Stopped overnight in our Campervan by making a donation to their Charity. Had couple beers and a burger. Food was average quality and only lukewarm. The dog area was small and narrow, 1 or two dogs off lead wandering around wasn't good. Staff were really nice and accomodating, hence the 4 stars.

Lovely place. My starter of chicken liver pate is some of the nest I've ever had. However my linguine was bland and dry and I couldn't eat it.

Not been for a carvery for years. I decided to pop in with the family and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The sun was out and we were able to sit outside listening to the sound of the river with a pint of cider. Very tranquil. Booking a table would be advisable as it can get very busy on the weekends. They have a very large car park that makes it easy to turn large vehicles or motorhomes.

Definitely impressed from the last time had disabled with me table service was unavailable feels like a Toby carvery on Sunday just not as busy so it's a great venue for a roast with all the trimmings had a large and small plate didn't have any photos but will next time will be back soon

Let's open with, we'll give them a second chance. I booked for Valentines based on the great reviews, so my expectations were set suitably high. We expected it to be rammed, but I'd guess it was less than half full, yet the staff seemed to be rushed off their feet. Long waits for the food, which when it eventually arrived was cold or undercooked or both. I won't say it ruined our evening because it didn't and the staff, when you caught them, were super friendly and helpful. We hope it was just one bad evening for them, so we will head back at some point and give them another try. Fingers crossed. *** Update 25 May 2024 *** So, second chance time came along. It was a lovely sunny day yesterday so off we went. I'd say it was maybe two thirds full, the food came out with very acceptable times and was hot and very tasty. Oh, we ordered from the menu but the carvery looked really good! Fully redeemed themselves in our opinion 💪🤗😄

We went for a family meal. Staff were ok but finding a clean glass was a problem. Carvery was really good. Can't really say much else. Nice setting with bridge for poo sticks, so my 4 year old was happy.

Food was really bad quality Lamb shank tasteless Steak was inedible changed steak and still so tuff and undercooked Member of staff who sat us was rude over what table we chose

Bit of a wait for the Drinks. All the queuing was a pain. Carvery food was plentiful and delicious. Watch House hosted my Nanny's 80th birthday celebrations, they did a fantastic job of managing 31 meals with my rowdy family! Very dog friendly. Beautiful location, food and the service was fantastic. The manager even gave my 3 year old a fossil to take home.

Despite booking a table, due to. Vintage car event, no parking was available, so left very disappointed, review changed, accepted a complimentary carvery, it was first class, plenty of choice, everything was hot, the staff were helpful very good value for money,

Snails pace Ordered 2 drinks. Waited 40 MINUTES! Worst of all when I went to the bar to enquire I was very rudely told: “I’ll get to it when I can, I got customers at the bar mate”. Pathetic service. Happy with the food (pork belly and sea bass risotto), albeit a bit overpriced. Doesn’t matter though since I had to eat it without a drink and my wife couldn’t even finish her food because without a drink it was just too dry after 10 minutes. Such a shame since the place looks good and has a nice beer garden.

We had been out for the day and decided to go to Rose Tree Farm in Quedgley for a carvery on the way home. When we arrived ready for our tea we were very disappointed to see it had closed! Husband suggested Fromebridge Mill as he was sure they had started carvery again. When we arrived it was very busy, but we were given a table and then joined a long queue ordering at the bar (could definitely do with more tills and staff). With our tickets in hand we went to to the carvery and to our delight found that Marvin the chef from Rose Tree Farm now works at Fromebridge Mill. We regularly travel 2-3 hours from home (Dursley) to visit places and we have stopped in many carvery pubs all over the place. Marvin's carvery is hands down the BEST your money can buy. Even the roast potatoes are lovely which is something most carvery's cannot boast. So Fromebridge Mill is now our favourite place, and even better it's closer to home! Don't spread the word too far though, we don't want it getting too busy that they can't fit us in!!!

Ordered just drinks. Absolute chaos in there. Ordered half pint , got a pint and she just poured it into a half glass and drank the rest herself. Not professional at all!

20 of us came for a meal to celebrate our son's 18th birthday, the meals were delicious, some of us had the carvery and some off the main menu. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful with the birthday cake we brought with us. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
