As always, utterly delicious fish and chips. Fresh fish, perfect batter, cooked perfectly. Really good chips too, but the fish is just fantastic as always.

Three of us had haddock suppers from Friar Tuck. The fish was as sweet and tasty as fresh haddock should be. The batter though was exceptional. I rarely eat much batter but this was really tasty as well as being crisp and not too thick. Oh, and the chips were great too. Overall the best haddock suppers we have had in years.

Best fish in the county. There is no need to say any more. But trip advisor want a minimum of 100 characters

Called in for a supper and the chips were really hard and greasy, suspect they had been refried after sitting about for some time, certainly will not be returning as it made my partner sick overnight

Visited this fantastic chippy during my stay in Nairn, the food was amazing and freshly cooked, would definitely get another fish supper from here on my next visit to Nairn. 👍

Fish was excellent and freshly cooked after 20 minute wait. Chips were very poor and had obviously stood for some time. The pizza was good but the onion rings were very processed and hadn't seen a fresh onion recently. Wouldn't return.

A good chip shop is hard to find. We have had fish and chip takeaways several times from Fryer Tucks this summer. Can be busy at the weekend, we call ahead to book our slot. The quality of produce and the service is always first class.

This is the best chippy I can remember being to in a long time on first night of our holiday. Beautifully battered fish and lovely chips. So good we might not cook all week! My son had a sausage supper and he said it was good. It's spotless and the staff were so nice. Thanks.

We were looking for greet fish snd chips in the area and we were not disappointed. Helpful service with a smile and fish & chips to die for! Perfectly cooked, plenty of it and utterly delicious. You need to go there, pick up some food, go down the road and eat it looking at the beautiful water and amazing views.

This is the best fish and chips ,we have for a long time. We order the food by phone and it was ready when we arrived. We will be going back before we go home.

It’s useful to know that it may be advisable to preorder your takeaway at busy times but if you decide to wait, it’s well worth if. Aged from 3 -70 our group thoroughly enjoyed our fish, sausages and smoked sausage, all encased in delicious crispy batter served with chips that were really good too. We all ate very well last night and hardly a chip was left for the birds. We will be back! Another bonus. ..... All packaging was recyclable.

Had Fish suppers and a Sausage supper from Friar Tucks on our first night in the area. Ordered for collection later so fresh, dry, crisp and tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Great tasting fish and chips. Very good service, we phoned in our order and it was freshly cooked and ready to collect within about 15 minutes.

Been looking forward to a decent fish supper and red pudding since I arrived in Moray and was not disappointed when I dropped into friar tucks. Everything freshly made, batter light and crispy with superb chips....keep up the good work guys

We always visit Friar Tuck’s on arrival in Nairn... never disappointed.. great non-greasy chips and fish.... black pudding Good too. Ordered in advance and it was freshly made... ideal!

We checked out and pre ordered on their Facebook page for a 5pm collection. I Arrived 2 minutes early and it was already in the heater. Walked 10 mins back to the Caravan and food was still pipong hot. Fish batter nice and smooth, fish cakes delicious!! Would Definately visit again and will recommend!!

Visited twice while staying in Nairn - great fish and chips, as well as battered sausage and chicken nuggets. Located near the centre of Nairn high street, and a walking distance from the beach which was perfect.

quality fish and chips, batter not too heavy more a tempura, didnt have the usual 'heavy' feeling after a fish supper... chips decent... all in the group said the same....

On a short break to Nairn. Went last night for 2 fish suppers as recommended by locals. Had a ten minute wait for them as they were cooked fresh to order. Fish was nice enough but chips were rotten..hard, tasteless and definitely reheats. I’ve had much better chippies back home. Disappointed

Really excellent Haddock and chips, all freshly cooked whilst you wait. Fish was moist and had tasty batter. Chips were very good. Tried some of their curry sauce really enjoyed it. Staff very welcoming.

Lovely freshly cooked crisp battered haddock but chips were leathery and tasted burnt and foul. This together with the black bits clinging to them that suggested they were fried in (very?) old oil and had possibly been fried even retried - but not in a Heston Blumenthal thrice fried good way. Worst chips we’ve ever had -and we know our fish and chips. Given the broadly positive reviews we were very disappointed but maybe they had an off day.

Visiting Nairn with my son tonight and he really wanted a chippie down by the beach. Asked a local for their recommendation and they said Friar Tuck's. Busy little place. Food was cooked fresh to order but only a ten minute wait, lovely food, great portions and much better value than our own local chippies. I would definitely recommend.

Tiny piece of fish and dry chips, served unceremoniously by disinterested staff in a pizza box, for £7.50.

First time in this chippie, did not enjoy. Batter was 'chewy' and chips looked like reheats and vast amount of scraps. Sorry but won't go back.

Cooked fresh, good portion size, friendly service. This is, in my opinion, the best chipper in town.

Called in after a long journey on holiday, not bad but wouldn’t rave over it. I’ve had a lot better, it’s my opinion the chips were re- cooked. But I could be wrong

Visited with the family everything cooked from scratch so a little wait would def recommend. Will be back.

When the queue is out the door on a cold wet night you know you are at the right place. All cooked to order, the fish and chips are brilliant and the pizzas good too.

Haddock and chips are my choice and here I'm always pleased with the quality. Always freshly cooked, so there can be a long wait. Can't understand the -ve feedback, since I've been many times over many years and our family have always been well satisfied.

we had just arrived on holiday so for quickness we just thought we would get fish and chips. as usually you cant go far wrong with that. we were wrong. the fish was lovely and the batter really nice. but the chips left lot to be desired. they were cold and rubbery and we didnt have to go far to eat them so it cant be blam ed on that. we were very disappointed as we love our chips but all 3 of us left most of them as they were just to limp not crispy at all to eat them.

Had the misfortune of visiting this chip shop and dissapointed does not go even close. The chips tasted like cardboard and were full of “eyes” they were very earthy tasting and unfortunately I only managed to eat a very small pet of my portion. My wife’s “sausage supper” was no better the chips

Called for Fish Chips and Haggis, the first time for a while because we had moved away near to Forres, not disappointed, best Haggis I've had and the Fish and Chips were great, will definitely call again even though we are out of the area now, well worth the run

Went out of our way to visit here due to the good reviews. The batter was soggy and stuck to the paper underneath. We had had numerous haddock & chips meals during our tour around Scotland and this was definitely the worst.

I enjoyed my fish and chips from here. Pity they don’t do cod, but the haddock was fresh and batter really delicious. Curry sauce, which I rarely have, but do in Scotland was not the best I’ve had, but a good meaty meal. Thank you.

The quality of the fish and chips was amazing. Light fluffy flavorful batter and local fresh caught fish from Buckie paired with chips fried in beef fat, what could be better. Our fish suppers were cooked to order, so there was a wait, but so, so worth it. I found the staff to be very friendly, the owner especially so. Didn’t have anything else, but the pizza looked good being made and smelled amazing when cooked. The location is down a small street in the harbor area, well worth seeking out. Probably the best fish supper I’ve had. Will definitely eat there again if I get back to Nairn.

This fish and chip shop is on a very narrow street right past the bridge. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. It is take away only.

No one ever wants to buy things from rude, arrogant or unkind people. An old couple in front of us were treated rudely. We were treated as an inconvenience. I love their chips but no way will I ever return.

Great food but try not to visit at Friday teatime - it is very busy and can result in a long wait for your food.

Beaut fish and chips, you don't ask for 2 fish and a scoop here - it's a fish supper! Had a giggle to myself as I didn't understand a word anyone was saying while we were waiting for our order, even though we all speak the Queen's English! And a blast from the past when we were asked if we wanted salt and vinegar, haven't had vinegar with my fish and chips for over 40 years! Was a great meal, thanks :)

Friar Tuck Fish and Chips is the best I had tasted in a long time!! It was freshly cooked the Staff were friendly and we enjoyed the banter in the shop. Nice clean areas watched the piazzas being prepared provided napkins and chip forks really recommend this wee chippy!!

Got our Fish Suppers here while staying at Parkdean Caravan Park Friendly staff and was given phone number to call so that our suppers would be ready as everything is cooked fresh.

Very clean & friendly chip shop. Been coming to Nairn for years. We've had the best fish supper ever. Lovely, firm, fresh haddock, perfectly cooked. Chips, dry and perfect. Served in cardboard box, with fish separated from chips.

Had a fish supper - great and friendly service. Carryout only with fairly traditional menu. Parking a bit tight but unrestricted after 6pm - well worth the wee diversion off the A96

Best chip supper I've had in a long time. I had a cheeseburger and my husband had fish it was delich. Highly recommend you visit here if in Nairn very busy chip shop but very fast service. Will defo be back next time I visit Nairn

Always worth the wait ! I'm not a fan of chippy chips but these remind me of my Grandads chips and taste amazing. Portions are just the right size too and the fish is always perfectly cooked, flaky and moist with a crispy batter.

I had the local Haddock with chips - excellent fish, beautifully cooked, crisp batter and lovely flaky fish.

One of the most unusual chip shops I have ever been in. The Fryer Andy is the Grumpiest hard nosed man you will ever come across but he is so so funny and most of all the fish and chips were amazing

Best in town, take the road towards the Harbour, it's about 150yards on left from main road through Nairn. Please note not open every day, check times if your are in the area for a few days.

Closed at 9pm in a Holiday resort at the weekend. Actually tried twice over 3 days and it was closed.

You have to wait a wee while, although the craic is good. You get really good food cooked to order not standing there for ages. You will love this place if your visiting Nairn and just walk down to the harbour and eat your food. Excellent
