The Chieftain Hotel in Highland

Fabulous hotel. We have stayed a few times with our Bernese mountain dog. Food is great. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are very good with TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Shower was really good.

Hi folk's. My name is Darren woods and I have been staying at the chieftan Hotel for the last t weeks. I'm not going to lie I've loved every minute of it the staff ate amazing food very good hotel is spotless and have been using g this hotel for over 30 years. However yesterday the 4th of March everything changed. I returned to the hotel mid after being away for the weekend despite paying for the room for the whole weekend. On my return I was verbally attached by the lady hotel owner Liz, who accessed me in front of other guest of being in court that day, and had watched cctv of me being hand cuffed on the Friday the 1st of March and bring removed from her hotel, she called me a lair and lot worse in a public place. Liz then went on a bile rant and told me again I. Front of everyone that she had contacted her friends St the local court house and police and they had confirmed was known to them and went on to berate my name. I tried to keep my cool and spoke very quietly ax you can imagine this was embarrassing to me. Do yo let eveknow I have contacted my lawyer and we have now request luz supply a copy of the cctv that shows me bring removed by the police and we have also requested the names of those she contacted eith regards me. I intend to sue liz to the max as I know I wasn't removed by the police in handcuffs on the 1st of March 2024 by the police, and the second we get the cctv I will have absolutely now problem in uploading it, in fact I give liz my permission right now to upload the cctv herself, because I know it didn't happen. Absolutely gutted my 30 year relationship with the chieftan has ended for absolutely no reason, apart from a 65 year old professional person relies on hosdip and crappie I stead of gathering the facts. Folk's jm thar annoyed about this I will add every document and liz'ez reply to her review page to 100% dhow you she was do wrong and extremely unprofessional.

We stayed here for one night before heading to the north. Staff were great and the room was roomy and comfortable. Dinner was good pub fare and while we ate in the dining room, we could have chosen the bar. Breakfast was generous and plenty of choice. Would recommend if you want to avoid the centre of the city.

The stay would have been fine, however it was completely overshadowed by the fact that there was a party directly below us that went on until 1:30 by the time it quietened down. This was supposed to be a rest stop between finishing the NC500 and the last leg home, after a 4 hour driving there and facing a five hour drive the next day we had 4 hours sleep by the time the party was wound up. Not helped by the fact that the party spilled out of the emergency exit just below our window where a load of drunk party goers where shouting at each other and f'ing and blinding. We did contemplate just leaving but kept thinking it would end soon .... I have videos and recordings of the noise and will be following this up. £129 for a sleepless and very stressful night.... Room was not the best, opening and shutting windows was a challenge shower kept running cold.

I recently stayed with a group of 14 golfers and was very pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting much for the money but found the hotel to be clean, with spacious rooms and very friendly staff. We had an evening meal the first night and this was also well above expectations, with quality produce cooked to perfection. Breakfast was just the icing on the cake with the highland breakfast also being spot on. Definitely a hotel I would stay at again when visiting Inverness

Fabulous stay. Rooms were lovely. Nice and clean, plenty of amenities. Staff were great. Lovely and friendly. The food was delicious. Full and busy bar with pool tables, a lovely outdoor area as well, plenty of TVs in the bar. Location is spot on, plenty of parking and is within walking distance. Fabulous highland welcome.

This hotel is an absolute little gem. The people and service they provide is fantastic. They treat you like family and redefine what being dog friendly actually means! The room well exceeded our expectations for the price. My husbands breakfast was great and I took away a delicious sausage and egg roll for the journey home and Stan (dog) also got a little pot of chopped sausages ! Overall excellent service and certainly exceeded our expectations for the price point.

The food was really superb. Lamb special was great, meat and sauce. The chicken dish with haggis was really marvelous and the sticky pudding is delicious. The big suprise was the check, the lowest price for a dinner with 3 during our 3 week holiday for one of the best meals. Bonus: very kind, helpful and professional staff.

Booked a table for 3 for 7.30pm and we ended up being 15 minutes late. Staff were brilliant and it didn't seem a problem. Food was brilliant and a huge feed. We were greedy and had pudding which again was great. Definitely be be back soon.

Staying nearby, we decided to go to this local pub for a pint and some dinner. We were greeted warmly and settled in. My steak and ale pie was delicious and the sides of vegetables and potatoes perfectly cooked. My other half had the chicken stuffed with haggis a plus veg and also declared it was delicious. A great find!

I would just like to say me and the wife stayed here for two nights, and we were treat like family and nothing was to hard for them. I would just like to say that liz and here staff are an asset to Inverness and the staff member Helen is a very friendly and helpful lady how made sure everything we wanted was granted. I must say that the chef they have at hotel is a great chef and would be someone to hold on to.The hotel has everything here from bed food bar and a great family feel and to top everything of the staff love dogs so my lab Lola went home very happy to. Will be speaking with liz again to stay sone

Stayed overnight in the family room. Very nice hotel, great location for a day in the Ness, rooms very clean, lovely and friendly staff. Scottish Breakfast was smashing!

One of the loviest venues to have a funeral. Liz and team went above and beyond to ensure the delicious and plentiful supply of food required to mark the funeral of my mother and for that I can only thank them immensely from my sisters and myself. A central location and warm atmosphere. Thank you again Liz.

I arrived to dine in their ‘heated’ outdoor dining area. It was a large area but the ‘heater’ was at one end which was being ‘hugged’ by the locals who had obviously been there for some time and were noisy and raucous . I had to sit the other end of the gazebo and it was freezing . I ordered the ‘special’ a beef curry , it was bloody awful and seemed to be a ‘microwave meal’ ( the hotel denies this) and as it was so cold the meal went cold very quickly so I couldn’t finish it . From the time I walks in , had a drink , ordered a meal and left was no more than 20-25 mins , couldn’t get out quick enough . This is the COVID arrangements , DONT USE IT , I have dined there a few times previously and found it to be great with great food , but they have failed to provide a comfortable and pleasant out door dining area under COVID

Stayed in the hotel and eat in the restaurant, a good selection from the menu, traditional pub food well cooked and served hot. Friendly staff.

Este hotel era encantador. Aparcamiento muy conveniente, personal realmente encantador. Agradable y limpio con un buen baño. La cama era un poco dura y con bultos y las almohadas eran planas. El desayuno estuvo increible. Cuidado, la habitación viene con Irn Bru, NO lo bebas antes de acostarte si no estás acostumbrado. Fue como tomar una bebida energética y estuvimos despiertos toda la noche, culpa nuestra. ¡Guárdalo para la mañana!

Visitamos este hotel para comer dos veces según las normas de salud y seguridad de Covid. Todo el personal estaba enmascarado, amable. El área estaba debidamente señalizada y se solicitó y facilitó información de seguimiento y localización. La comida era deliciosa y, aparte de las obvias máscaras, toda la experiencia fue muy agradable y sorprendentemente relajante dadas las circunstancias de este año. Consideraría quedarme en este hotel si volviera a la zona, ya que estaba tan seguro y feliz con la experiencia.

Stayed overnight whilst travelling. Large family room, loved the irn brew left for us in the room. Really friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar area and breakfast was freshly prepared to order. Ten minute walk into the centre.

Hay mucho aparcamiento para motos en la parte trasera del hotel, fuera de la vista de la carretera principal.Me alojé con un grupo de compañeros de motociclistas y compartí una habitación doble. Alojarse en el Premier Inn al final de la calle, pero comimos aquí por la noche. Safe, Covid - 19 bienvenidos por personal con máscaras. Comida realmente deliciosa. Ambos tomamos cerveza, pescado y patatas fritas rebozados que eran encantadores! Luego comí el gofre belga de postre y fue fabuloso (¡necesitábamos dos cucharas ya que mi compañero no pudo resistirse cuando lo vio!). ¡También soy un amante del ron oscuro y la coca cola, por lo que tener Kraken fue perfecto para mí! Super servicio y un precio justo. Gracias.

Nos alojamos aquí por dos noches durante una escapada corta y, aunque básico, no nos decepcionó. Las principales cualidades de este hotel son el personal amable, el servicio eficiente y la comida decente. Seré honesto, todo el lugar parece que necesita un poco de renovación. Las habitaciones están anticuadas, pero la cama y la ropa de cama eran más que cómodas, el baño impecable y las toallas de excelente calidad, y en el mundo actual, donde todos necesitan enchufes para cargar sus numerosos dispositivos, no había escasez de enchufes disponibles. Las disposiciones vigentes para lidiar con COVID - 19 estaban allí y nos sentimos cuidados y seguros. Si no quiere salir a comer, hay un restaurante que ofrece un menú pequeño. Lo que tuvimos fue sabroso y abundante, y si te gusta un gran desayuno, prueba el especial del cacique, que incluye lo habitual, además de morcilla y haggis. No pasarás hambre. Comimos aquí 3 noches ya que reservamos en The Premier, pero no nos informaron que su restaurante estaba cerrado porque estaba siendo renovado. La comida de los Chieftains era excelente, teníamos gambas, envoltura de pollo y el pollo de las Highland era tan bueno que lo comí dos veces. El personal es muy amable y las precauciones de covid en el lugar parecían adecuadas y efectivas. Volvería a comer allí

Una gran bienvenida por parte de Liz y el personal después del encierro pasamos una estadía de 3 noches en el hotel y nos atendieron como a la realeza.Las habitaciones están impecables y un toque agradable con mucho té y café y galletas de mantequilla acompañadas de un par de botellas pequeñas de irn bru. . El desayuno escocés cocinado completo era para morirse. También nos quedamos a cenar con amigos una noche y la comida era de un nivel muy alto y bien presentado, un gran agradecimiento al chef. El bar y el jardín de cerveza tenían una amplia variedad de bebidas y siempre se servían con una sonrisa. Este hotel es una joya escondida y recomendaría a cualquiera que lo pruebe la próxima vez que venga a Inverness. Le deseo a Liz y al personal lo mejor en lo que han sido tiempos muy difíciles.

Stayed for one night to attend a family function. Warm and welcoming staff. Room was clean, well laid out. Good quality bedding and toiletries. Fantastic hearty breakfast ! Parking available and short walk to city centre Would definitely use this hotel again Thanks

We stayed here on the 15th of July for our silver wedding anniversary it was the hotels first night open since lockdown and it was amazing . The staff were so warm and welcoming and the owner even popped a bottle of champers in our room as a gift for our anniversary. We had an amazing meal in the bar restaurant and highly recommended the Chieftain burger We stayed and had a couple of drinks , the next morning we we welcomed in for our breakfast which was absolutely delicious . Thank you Liz and your wonderful team of staff

Stayed here for our annual visit to Inverness. Hotel is very welcoming, room was clean and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.

Had a great weekend at the Chieftain, this was a family visit, with kids staying over also, Initially we did not have high expectations due to cost and with it not being a big hotel, well that got hit on the head quickly:- It has its own car park, All staff very friendly, Shown to our rooms, rooms were absolutely spotless, nice extra touches, Irn bru along with tea, coffee, chocolate red rose, then breakfast, service was great with a bright and cheery waiter, great choice of cereals, fruit juices, pastries, fruit, yogurt, amazing choice of cooked breakfast even had French toast and a 'Bairns Breakfast' all done to order x a big thank you to all the staff from the bottom (who are more important ) to the top, you were all amazing, this hotel is a wee hidden gem and I can see us using it again x amazing value for money, but know something, it's the staff that make it great, you have a fantastic team x

Found this hotel by chance, and wasnt disappointed! A lovely hotel, very clean, food was great and staff were amazing. Ideal location, close to shopping centre and nightlife. Will definitely be back soon.

We had a table for 10 here for a birthday party and enjoyed it very much. The food was great and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Would definitely return.

Whilst staying nearby, we called in on spec for dinner on a Thursday evening. The dining area was almost empty, but staff members were friendly and efficient. The meal was very good and served quickly. Overall, it was a good experience, although a bit lacking in atmosphere.

El personal era muy amable y acogedor y todos eran amantes de los perros.La habitación era espaciosa y limpia, pero quizás podría haber instalado más tomas de corriente en la habitación. La habitación en la que estábamos no tenía ventanas que pudieran permanecer abiertas, no tan bueno para una mujer premenopáusica ¡jaja! El baño también era encantador.No pedimos una cena, pero lo que vi que se servía a los comensales se veía bien. El desayuno era excelente y tener una mesa reservada para nuestra habitación para que pudiéramos tener nuestro perro presente fue un toque muy agradable. El bar era bastante grande con algunas mesas de billar, con un montón de lugareños. Los lugareños eran muy amables y el bar tenía un buen ambiente, especialmente cuando el personal seguía alimentando mis galletas para perros.Definitivamente un hotel con el que siempre reservaría si alguna vez vuelvo a Inverness, vale la pena una visita.

Vi bodde en liten bit ifrån men behövde äta lunch innan vi gick in till staden.

Nos quedamos en la cabaña Whisky a unas pocas puertas de la carretera y caminamos hacia la ciudad para encontrar un lugar para cenar. ¡Los seis habíamos cabalgado desde Andrews y estábamos muriendo de hambre y pasamos por la puerta! Los planes fueron cambiados de inmediato y fuimos a tomar una pinta para ver el lugar.

Great pies, soups and Mac & cheese, and nice staff. I csn easily recommend it. There is no need to go anywhere else if you’re staying at their hotel.

The menu is fairly basic, but includes the typical Scottish dishes you would expect. The food is well cooked and delicious. The portions are huge, so bring an appetite. The staff are great.

Almorcé aquí, en una reunión. El sándwich de atún solo tenía una pequeña gota de atún mayonesa en una esquina del pan, y el resto se rellenaba con lechuga picada. La opción vegetariana era aún más embarazosa: pan seco (no extendido), con queso rallado. Cuando lo recogiste, todo el queso se te cayó encima. Hace mucho tiempo que no veo comida de mala calidad y no tengo idea de lo que pensaba el hotel. Lamentablemente, mucho fue dejado por la gente.

Wir waren am Fish Friday dort und hatten Fish & Chips. Sehr gut ausgebackenes Fischfilet mit leckeren Pommes (die Erbsen waren wohl eher als "Farbtupfer" gedacht).

I had booked here for dads 60th bday and I have to say from the booking to paying the service was outstanding,the staff were friendly and efficient I can’t fault them at all,the food was good not one of us had a complaint and there were 23 of us,I wish I had got the name of the staff as I’d like to personally thank the great guy who I think was one of the management team he was exceptionally nice and friendly,keep up the good work everyone,I would recommend here and I will go back plus dad really enjoyed himself so thanks again

El restaurante Chieftain está un poco fuera del centro pero cerca de pocos hoteles y casas de huéspedes. Nos alojamos en el hotel al lado de la calle, así que fue conveniente. El restaurante estaba lleno y nos pusieron una mesa en el pub. El ambiente era muy agradable, pub escocés con pocos clientes, buena música chill out. El servicio fue rápido y muy bueno a pesar de la multitud en el restaurante. Tenía la tradicional torre de haggis escocés y mi marido el rosbif casero. Todo estaba delicioso, casero a muy buen precio. El servicio también fue muy agradable y atento. Después del restaurante, tuvimos la piscina en el bar deportivo para nosotros, ya que es gratis los lunes.

He venido aquí durante años, después de la última vez que el gerente me dijo que no podía tomarme un vaso enjuagado, le pregunté qué reglas se rompieron, sin respuesta, pero el personal vive con miedo de ella. . . hacer lo que el cliente pregunta parece ser lo último que quieren. Cocina rica y muy abundante personal muy amable precio muy económico y mucha variedad de cervezas. Muy recomendable.

Fuimos allí para una comida con compañeros de trabajo para una función de despedida. El personal era muy amable y educado, y el precio no estaba mal a unos 19 por 3 campos. Tuve goujons para empezar, que estaban bien, luego eglefino y patatas fritas en pan rallado, que era excelente. Los budines los decepcionaron. Tenía crumble de manzana sin derrumbamiento evidente y mis colegas dijeron lo mismo sobre ellos. También tuve una esponja de melaza que fue la más blanda que he tenido. No había agua en la mesa y no se ofreció café al final, así que en general una tarde bastante normal.

Nos alojamos aquí en dos ocasiones en diciembre, tuvimos un gran bienvenido a la llegada y nos llevaron a nuestras habitaciones, que eran ideales. Muy cómodo con té, café y botellas de hierro bru, buen toque. luego fuimos a cenar, que era preciosa, una gran elección en el menú y una buena selección de vinos, el personal fue excelente, tenía un gran ambiente navideño cuando entras en la recepción, así que cuando estés en inverness, ten una noche o dos y relájate. I was staying at the hotel, eating in was sensible, and I was pleased with the food, service, and prices.

Mis amigos y yo vamos en un viaje de moto cada año a varios destinos. Este año fuimos a Inverness y visitamos el Cacique Hotel y bar de deportes. El personal era muy amable e hicieron que nuestro grupo sentir muy bienvenido.

Nos alojamos por una noche, la habitación estaba bien, aunque muy caliente incluso cuando los radiadores se apagaba. Lo que no nos molestará el desayuno que nos dijeron que se sirve hasta las 9. 30:00 am. Conseguimos abajo en 9. 10 y fueron a despejar que señaló a nosotros. No tostadas, el cual fue mencionado en el menú suministrado con té o café. Mis huevos revueltos eran estoy bastante seguro sólo calienta las sobras, seco y desagradable. Sin duda no volveremos.

Staff were slow to take our orders. Had to chase up both the drink order and then the food order. The food was decent. Really enjoyed the pizza. Not sure if I'd go back.

Paramos en el bar de deportes fútbol americano para ver algunos (Steelers 24! V Bengals 16) y jugar billar cerca del final de nuestras vacaciones. ¡Fue increíble! Primero, nos dejaron ver fútbol americano que era realmente considerados como había otros juegos. Luego recibimos absolutamente magnífico servicio del barman. Ella (Chelsea creo? ) era muy bueno en su trabajo. Hubo otras personas jugando al billar que por increíble en recoger música en el gran Juke Box que tienen allí. Nos alimentamos de ellos para mantener la fiesta libras ondulantes y fueron desternillante. Así que se reagrupen noche terminó siendo lo más destacado gracias a estos chicos. Ah, y Lawrence Tynes llegó, 2 vez campeón de la Super Bowl y juegos de campeonato de truco de Escocia premios que era cool - intercambio cultural de la mejor clase.

Stayed for three nights, the food was fantastic and the staff were really friendly. The bedroom was adequate and clean, we had to leave the window open because of the heat. The hotel being situated beside the dual carriageway we could smell the traffic fumes. the hotel was very busy and at times the car parking was insufficient. The shower cubicle was quite small, so much so that when I dropped the soap I couldn't bend down to pick it up. The shower head kept falling off. But we would stay there again!

Recently had lunch in this hotel restaurant and I went for the Scotch Broth and Wild Boar and Chorizo Burger....

Las habitaciones son bastante básicas pero limpias y cómodas, con té, café y galletas y toque adorable gratis irn bru. Al centro de la ciudad 10 minutos paseando, idealmente situado.

Looking for location to have a meal while viewing a sports event on TV pleased we found the Chieftain Hotel bar. The staff were very welcoming, good selection of beers and tasty food at reasonable prices.

We found this sports bar while walking from downtown Inverness to Jury's Inn, the hotel where we stayed. It's about halfway, and was a welcome place to stop for dinner. The kitchen doesn't open until 5:00, so if you're early, just enjoy a pint and watch TV. The menu has a nice variety -- from traditional local fare to burgers and stir fry. Good prices. Great service. Lovely atmosphere!

Ordered a bacon roll, but they only had white rolls. I asked if they had brown bread, and if so, was it nice tasty bread, or just supermarket bread - if so, I would order something else. Was told that it was tasty granary bread, so ordered a bacon butty. When it arrived, it was thin, cheap supermarket bread, so very disappointed. Was so thin, it was falling apart while eating it. Didn't cost a lot, and had plenty of bacon on, but just not as advertised.Place is easy to find, but only has a small car park. There is some additional parking on the street. Quite dark inside, but the staff are lovely. The toilet was like the krypton factor to get into. It only opened up to the pan, you then had to squeeze down the side and close the door - very badly designed. Wouldn't choose to visit again.

We visited for lunch on a Saturday, having pre-booked as the dining room is rather small. We were glad we had as all the other tables were taken. Initially, the service was very slow - I don't think anyone even noticed we were there, however, once our order was taken everything went smoothly and efficiently - until we came to pay, when there was another extra-ordinarily long delay. The food itself though was plentiful, nicely cooked, and served HOT as specifically requested, and on HOT plates. The 2 course lunch deal resulted in a £32 bill for 3 of us which was good value.Give it a visit. There is plenty of parking around the back - don't be put off by the outside because it's really quite nice inside and the meals and the staff are lovely. A word of caution if turning right on exit and crossing Millburn Road.....even though the speed limit is now 30mph, this is still tricky as many vehicles do far more than that!

We stayed for three nights. A function the first night, and then two days shopping. No problem that we had a dog either. Front of house staff were so accommodating.Our house maid was very attentive over the days of stay.Our food was of a very high standard and we will be staying with the Chieftain on our next visit to Inverness.

Whilst visiting family in Inverness we chose to eat at the Chieftain where we had previously stayed. As always a warm and welcoming ambience coupled with good food and excellent service. Highly recommended!

We had drinks and dinner here two nights in a row and found it very good. The staff in the bar and serving in the restaurant were very friendly. We were staying close by so it was very convenient. Plenty of choice on the menu and 4 of us both nights enjoyed everything.

We were a party of four and dined here two nights in a row The food was fresh and tasty and we didn't have to wait to long very reasonable prices would definitely recommend this hotel for food the staff were very efficient we were served by a lovely young man who was clean and tidy We stayed at the premier inn next door Both places are on the bus routes so no excuses if you're not staying nearby Thanks to the chef for the lovely mint sauce

We ate here two evenings in succession and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant only has a limited number of tables and the decor is fairly plain but the service was good and our meals were tasty and reasonably priced.

Beautiful meal plenty of choices, Good sized portion, friendly staff. Good parking outside it and reasonable prices, felt homely and welcoming made our valentines perfect x

The food was tasty and quickly served, the wait staff was friendly and very helpful. You don't need to go out for food when you're staying at the hotel because the restaurant is too good to pass up.

We went here while staying the weekend in Inverness. They have a car park which was handy a parking can be difficult, the hotel itself is dated but have a big menu, the food was average but not expensive fine if your just wanting to eat and go

While stopping at the hotel after checking in we enjoyed a nice meal in the hotel restaurant before retiring for the night following a long journey.

We try to visit Inverness at least once a year and we have been going to the Chieftan Hotel for about the last 10 years over the years we have always enjoyed our time drinking here the staff have always been excellent and in particular over the last 3 years where we have had meals served in the bar area the meals get better every time we visit. Unfortunately we have never stayed at the hotel but we are hoping to one day because we never miss visiting the Chieftan when we are up. The bar has a few pool tables in it a great jukebox seating area

My daughters treated me to Mother's Day lunch. Five adults and two toddlers. The owner Liz made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to make sure grandchildren were catered for in every way. The food was exceptional. Soup and warm crusty fresh bread to start. I had lamb shank and it just melted in your mouth. I couldn't manage desert because of the generous helpings but rest of family had cheesecake and there was empty plates all round. Will definitely return and highly recommend food and service.

Party of four out for dinner. Restaurant busy but was made to feel very welcome. Shown to a table and given menus. Waiting staff very pleasant and helpful. Everyone in the party enjoyed their food, we did however feel that they were very short staffed and this caused the service to be very slow at times. Disappointing that white wine not served in cooler - hate wine not chilled enough. We would return but would hope that extra staff would be in attendance!

Ate here recently as a family of 5 recently, got a table straight away and staff were friendly. We used to eat here a few years ago but haven't been since the refurb and its been done up nicely. The food wasn't that great and not as a nice as it used to be. The starters were cold and not very tasty and the main course of fish was served on a wooden fish shaped board - not great when the peas are flying off it - a normal plate would have been better! Fish was nice though. We didn't have pudding given the previous. Children had Garlic bread and nachos - one slice of garlic bread on a plate was not very generous compared to the big bowl of nachos for starters. Macaroni was tasteless - used to be so yummy when we came before. Shame as we used to really enjoy coming here.

Ate here at lunch whilst helping family set up function room for a party that evening. Food average. Buffet at the party in the evening not good. Food cold and not good. Staff friendly though

Hosted a whole day workshop here staff were so helpfull nothing was a bother only downside was not so good for using a projector as the conservatory was to bright. But would be better set up in the room that adjoins it

Went here for a bite to eat had sirloin steak and sticky toffee pudding both were really good then I played pool and they had football on the TV, really enjoyed myself there would recommend the place highly

Great weekend 3 of us just back ,staff very friendly couldnt do enough for you ,we ate lunch when we arrived ,very good and reasonably priced food and drinks ,had evening meal there as well,as wewere so impressed and they didnt let us down either good sized portions ,Our room was good size ,clean and plenty of clean towels etc.Aten minute walk to the city centre ,if you dont feel like walking theres a handy bus service that runs frequently by ,would certainly visit this hotel again .

Just came back from Inverness with my grandson who was playing chess at the hotel. We had a very enjoyable stay the staff was very friendly, bedroom was clean and tidy, comfortable bed. A tray with tea & coffee and biscuits just what we needed after our long journey. We had a lovely breakfast the haggis is very nice .the meals in the restaurant are very tasty with a good size portion.Thank you all once again and look forward to seeing you all again when we are next in Inverness

3 of us went on this night and this is my 3rd visit and this time they had new things on the menu and some old favorites. We ordered the haggis starter, two steaks and the steak pie with new potatoes. For sweets we had the choc fudge cake and apple crumble. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sweets were to die for. For 3 of us it was £54 including drinks and that is good value for money. Service was great and good timings between the courses. If you like home cooking and great British food then go to the Chieftain hotel.

I have eaten here twice in the last month and both times the meals were brilliant. The steak pie on my first visit was amazing the meat was just delicious and my husband had the beef fajitas which were also very tasty and plentyful! Yesterday I met a friend for lunch, I had the cullen skink, this was lovely as was our sandwich on nice thick bread, all very well presented and service was top class too. Well done Chieftain, ★★★★

I see the review from Lisa A.....Have to say our experience was very similar. We visited on the 11 May for lunch. Really felt we were almost holding up the staff by ordering a meal. I have never ever waited so long for a one course meal. The food when it finally arrived was very poor and very over cooked. The staff were flustered.( although there was no others in the dining room) It was frankly embarrassing. My parents wanted to leave. We ordered drinks the girl did not know if they had a wine menu, the drinks for our table for 3 people arrived in three stages. We waited 15 minutes for water to be delivered to the table. The wine we ordered to go along with meal was finished before we started the meal... Also the table was dirty, the glasses had smudges all over them.The water when it arrived the first time was warm. We were told that the food was delayed so would be 5 minutes ..this was after waiting 20 minutes another 25 minutes later no sign of the food.. We were just about to walk out when the meal arrived.We did not complain at the time..they could see and we were not happy..we all felt really awkward.I went to reception to pay for the meal when it arrived so we could make a quick exit. Would not go back .PS the older lady on reception was pleasant. Nobody was rude...it was everthing else that was terrible.

We visited the Chieftain restaurant on Wednesday the 13th of March for a meal for my father in laws birthday. We arrived and asked should we have booked and were told no it wouldn't be a problem and a table was set up for us. We arrived arond 1910 we gave our drinks order and then our starters which we waited around 30-40 minutes for if not longer. We were then advised after having our starters there was a delay as there was only 1 chef working and a table of 10 had come in before us however, the restaurant did not appear to be busy and we were sat through in part of the function suite (out of sight - out of mind). We were told we would have £20 taken off our bill for the delay. When the starters were cleared we were told the mains wouldn't be long and we waited until 2100 and decided to leave without having our mains. The restaurant supervisor did apologise for the delay however, we were never told about the table of 10 and that there could be a delay. Had we been told this we would have gone somewhere else. This ruined the birthday meal for my father in law as we all went home and decided we would go out another night to a restaurant where we will receive better service.
