The food and service at the Kingsmills was fantastic. I was tired out from a long day of travelling and meetings, I couldn't have been looked after better. Drinks to the table, comfortable and lively lounge, beautifully cooked and presented food. The rooms were large, clean and quiet and shower hot and high pressure. That's about as good as it gets! Thanks very much and I'll be back.

Wanted to write a review as it was so good to see the attitude and hard work of all staff members, especially the younger members of the team. Proper hospitality, lovely food, amazing wine list and atmosphere. The hotel was super busy but there's a small army of staff... Including a very cheery breakfast chef this morning, constantly bringing out fresh food... Breakfast was lovely. Also loved the piano player in the evening. Minor criticism, hope it's helpful.... More info at reception on check in, make check in 3pm, not 4. Changing area for pool not very nice, mouldy lockers. However, a five star stay and will return. Thanks.

A Fantastic Stay at Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness We recently had the pleasure of staying at Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated to an exceptional level of service and hospitality. The staff were outstanding—professional, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. From the warm welcome at reception to the impeccable service in the restaurant and bar, every interaction was a testament to their dedication and professionalism. The hotel itself is beautiful, blending classic charm with modern comforts. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and offered a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. The facilities, including the spa and leisure areas, were fantastic and provided the perfect setting to unwind after a day exploring the Highlands. Dining at Kingsmills was a delight—the food was exceptional, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the service was just as impressive as the cuisine. A huge thank you to the entire team at Kingsmills Hotel for making our stay so memorable. Your warm hospitality and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and we are already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Inverness!

The check in process could have been more informative eg times for breakfast, access to spa & gym facilities etc. we were left needing to ask a lot of questions as the stay progressed. Maybe even having a hotel information booklet within the rooms would have been helpful. Found staff to be quite standoffish and not openly friendly/helpful, made it feel quite awkward asking for assistance or answers to queries. The massage treatment I booked was lovely, the environment very relaxing and the masseuse very friendly and helpful.

The food in the restaurant was awful. I ordered soup and 3 side dishes. Everything came out stone cold. The root vegetables at £4.50 were 8 tiny cubes of shriveled up carrot and parsnip - absolutely shocking. The soup was tasteless. The green veg was 1 piece of broccolli and 11 green beans, at £4.50 this is also a ridiculous price. You need to get a new head chef. My husband had the steak pie, which although he liked it, was far too small, we had to order him some chips to go with it. Also, I ordered chips with my meal and got delivered fries, when we ordered the same thing for my husband he got fat greasy chips??!!

Very nice hotel on the outskirts of the city centre. King size room was large and clean, good hot buffet breakfast, all the staff we encountered were polite and welcoming. Leisure centre is well equipped with a smallish pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi as well as the fitness rooms - very quiet between 8 -9am and around 6pm but, if there is a wedding taking place, the pool can be very busy when people all check in at 4pm and head straight to the pool with their kids. Food in the bar and restaurant was good but, along with drinks, overpriced.

We stayed at the Kingsmill for Christmas and we wasn't disappointed. The check in was really straight forward, and you get the feel of a place within the first few minutes and we wasn't disappointed. Before we unpacked our bags we had a cheeky drink in the bar, and a sandwich (Salmon & Cream cheese) was spot on, the (Tuna Crunch) was lovely as well, both with a small salad and crisps. The room was lovely, over looking the garden area, nice size room, and very large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless it actually looked like it had just been renovated?. I absolutely loved the shower 10/10 it was hot and refreshing. There was plenty of tea, coffee etc and if we did run out of anything you could just ask, knowing it wasn't a problem. The Christmas day lunch/dinner was amazing, plenty of food, fantastic service from all the staff. It was such a nice atmosphere and we wasn't rushed....it was such a perfect day. Plus no washing up. Overall our stay was perfect in every way, the location, the hotel the staff. Thank you all at the Kingsmill.

Hello, we spent two nights at the Kingsmills Hotel and unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed. First thing was the room, the bathroom had mold and probably hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, there was residue on the floor. The bedroom table had countless fingerprints and grease marks. And the room only contained one electrical outlet. The curtains were torn and a bedside lamp did not work. In addition, the cleaning service was very disappointing, we saw that the vacuum cleaner was not vacuumed despite the carpet on the floor and the bathroom was not cleaned either. No toiletries (cotton pads, shower cap, etc.) are provided. The mattresses were hard (this is obviously a matter of habit but we all had back pain). Regarding the food, it was good but very “simple” we were waiting for that little extra thing that makes it 4*. The breakfast was good and varied but we expected more homemade and less “industrial”. The parking lot was full every night and we had to park in spaces that said we couldn't park but the staff told us it was no problem, thanks to them. The only positive point of the hotel was the kindness and professionalism of the staff who were really lovely with us and the other guests 😊 That for me was unfortunately rather negative, especially with the mold in the bathroom. But big ups to the staff.

!!! This is a review for the gym / pool area ONLY !!! I haven’t stayed in this hotel. I bought a day pass to use the pool, sauna and the gym facilities. GYM. The gym was my primary reason of visiting. The photos are misleading. The cardio and the resistance rooms are separate. I did not use cardio room but it looked 3 times bigger than the so called “resistance room”. The gym is 2sqm from what it felt and I honestly don’t know how but it fits 2 lower body machines (leg curl & leg extension), there are shoulder and chest press machines, a cable machine, a bench press and a large mat in the middle and almost a size of the gym itself that you have to move around depends on the machine you use. IT IS A ROOM FOR ONE PERSON ONLY! If a second person gets in - one of you should leave the room otherwise it’s just way too crowded. Almost all machines are Technogym and to be honest work fine but the bench press seems to be from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s time in primary school - dated!! The gym is not only the tiniest room I’ve ever been to but also the floor and the walls and the equipment especially the plates and dumbbells need urgent replacement. No wet tissues or paper towels to wipe the equipment. POOL. It’s an okay size pool. It has 3 or 4 beds and a couple of chairs around it. All taken when I was there (Monday afternoon). So many kids and all jumping and shouting and splashing. All kids are accompanied by adults and none of them would quiet them down. So, it’s like a Disneyland swimming pool instead of a relaxing pool to lay and read a book by. SAUNA Small but clean. However, people don’t watch the space and there were 6!!!! of us in that tiny room…..kids come popping in and out after the pool cooling down the sauna…. FEMALE CHANGING ROOM. So small, wet, crowded, too warm and untidy! Has 2 small benches and you get mums with kids trying to fit in there. There are two (hairy) showers, toilets, a couple of changing boxes and 3 seats with mirrors and hairdryers. All crammed in together in a tiny room making it so uncomfortably hot that you would want to get out of it as quickly as possible. SUMMARY. If you are staying in the hotel and it’s absolutely critical for you to exercise then you’ll find the gym passable to do the basics. However, if you are considering to buy a day pass - I would highly recommend looking for something else. I’m a well-traveled person and the facilities are nowhere close to deserve 4-stars.

Stayed here for a night on our way between places and it was completely adequate. Parking was very easy and the location is wonderful for being walking distance to town. The room was clean but very hot in September (windows would only open a bit, though there was a standing fan in the room). The interior was dated and generic. The front desk was very friendly, however my reservation under the wrong name so there was some confusion at check-in. The breakfast staff was kind but the food offered was quite low quality (we ended up not eating any of it and walking into town where we had a very delicious meal instead). I'd say this was better than a basic hotel and a great option for a quick stop in Inverness, but probably shouldn't call itself "luxury."

We came here to feel the history associated with Inverness. We booked long in advance and had high hopes that this would be authentically Scottish. They did NOT greet us warmly as they claim they do. We got in at 3:45 and they sent us to an outhouse, or rather garden house from about 1995. We called and asked for an upgrade; "you have an upgrade" they said.. This went back and forth to no avail. Tried several times. No resolution or concession of ANY kind. They Don't Care. Only bright spot, Pam Oliver was nice to them. This place is a loser. Front desk Pam Oliver was nice. Other than that. Nuestra cena fue tan decepcionante, que teníamos grandes esperanzas basadas en las descripciones del menú, pero estábamos tan abrumados. Yo tenía el pato (y tenía que pagar un suplemento al menú de precio fijo) y no era comestible. Estaba demasiado cocido y sabía a hígado.

This was a very nice hotel. I gave the room only 4 stars because it was a bit dated. One lamp did not work and no washcloths provided. I'm guessing this is the norm in Scotland, but how do I use the body wash with no washcloth or scrunggie? Another norm in Scotland is the very narrow toilet seats. Felt like I'm sitting on a rail and hurt the backs of my thighs. Otherwise, this was a nice stay for a couple of days. Staff was extremely pleasant both at the front desk and restaurant. The bar area is a lot of fun in the afternoon and the bartender introduced me to the French Martini! I've now had it several times around the country and at home here in the US and no one can quite make it like he did. What's your secret? Location is not bad, but the walk to town will take a good 20-30 minutes. Not bad, but when it's cold and rainy, not a pleasant walk. I would recommend this hotel.

I really wish the Kingsmills would up their quality of food. The location, environment and serving staff deserve 5 stars but the food for me has been a let down over my past few visits. Steak is always grizzly and not cooked as requested. Menus are not clear - (going back to my mothers birthday in October) I ordered a salmon terrine, there was also ham terrine on the menu - which you would expect to be similar - the ham terrine was as described, the salmon was actually a weird little quiche full of goats cheese which I couldn’t eat but had to argue with the waitress before she went back to the kitchen and agreed it was not a terrine, included goats cheese which was not described on the menu and didn’t include the beetroot salsa. The food is priced as 4 star but doesn’t meet expectations. I recently had a scallop starter - scallops were delicious and served with curry purée but no carb/veg/salad leaves to give it some texture or any kind of substance (it included a supplement). It is really disappointing for such a lovely hotel that I would like to visit more often.

Hotel staff were very nice. If you're staying here for a night don't book it expecting to use the pool and jacuzzi. It closes at 9 but they stop letting people in at 8:15. We arrived around 6 so had to make the decision to enjoy dinner downtown vs using pool/jacuzzi. Even if they let people use it for the last 10 mins, it would've been nice. The room we had wasn't the greatest. It was quite cold with a thin comforter.

Another lovely stay! Great room, suits us with our little dog. Wonderful breakfast, plenty of choice! Dinner was excellent- if one slight negative, the table we were seated at in the conservatory was too dark, difficult to read menu. See you next time

It looks quite ordinary from outside but really nice inside. A real Scottish warm atmosphere with freshly decorated rooms. No fridge but no problems. Good location for the Highlands. Good staff also. 4 to 5 star hotel.

My friend and I had afternoon tea which was lovely. Next time though, I must ask for no salmon sandwiches. The lady did ask did we have allergies but it is more a matter of taste. The cakes were sublime.

An exceptional welcome with tasting of a local whisky. Very friendly attitude from the person at reception. A large, clean and well-equipped room. Excellent value for money. The only downside is that the parking lot, although large, is undersized compared to the hotel's capacity.

Fantastic choice of cakes, rolls and pies! Recommend the “Highland Pastie” or steak bake. Served hot or cold- 3 pies, 2 coffees and a wee bottle of diet bru under £18. Can sit on tables and chairs outside. Staff very polite and helpful- worth a visit if you need a snack.

We had an excellent meal here for a birthday dinner. The food was delicious and well presented. There were plenty of staff on shift, who were attentive and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for a meal. The stand out dishes for us were the vegetarian starter and the honey and miso cod dish.

We stayed three nights at the Tomich Hotel to be close to the hiking in Glenn Affric and it was the perfect location to base camp out of for our stay. The weather was quite variable in August so we liked being close to home when the weather would inevitably turn. Glenn Affric is very quiet, we saw very few people in the best way possible and likewise enjoyed the calm of The Tomich Hotel. We were thankful for the pack lunches the hotel chef prepared for us and for hot breakfast in the morning AND dinner in the evening. There is not a lot of other dining nearby so it was nice that everything could be taken care of food wise right at the Hotel. (The cafe next door has wonderful sandwiches and soups in the morning / early afternoon.) If you like peace and quiet and being on the doorstep of incredible scenery and hiking, this is the perfect place for you.
