Fresh Food Cafe in Cheshire West and Chester

we have had a few days staying in the hotel on site, wanted something different for breakfast there's not really much to choose from there and then we decided to try here the food was hot and was delivered to the table, it was expensive for what we actually had but cooked well and enjoyable the coffee was the best one I had in days so much better than McDonalds one and costa the man who served us was so pleasant and chatty he was brilliant made us feel really welcome and couldn't enough for us

Had full English breakfast with coffee, the plate was cold, only thing on plate which was hot was mushroom and fried egg, excellent coffee , but don't like moaning.

Stopped here for breakfast. Nice mannered gent behind counter. Gave advice on breakfast. Absolutely gorgeous, the breakfast that is.

Used twice while stopping at the days inn on site,once for breakfast once for evening meal. Both meals where hot n tasty, did say at breakfast did not want mushroom so he changed it for another fried egg, the evening meal i had was ham egg chips again good and tasty overall both meals was worth it

Visité ayer por la tarde para tomar un descanso de la conducción.Pensé que la tienda de comida fresca se veía prometedora. Brillantes y alegres y las mesas limpias. Pedimos un Americano negro y jamón, huevos y papas fritas y nos convencieron para que pidieran pan y mantequilla "para un chip butty". El asistente de mostrador comenzó a preparar el café y luego entró en la parte de atrás para hacer el pedido de comida. Otro cliente llegó y realizó un pedido. El único otro cliente que vimos en ese punto de venta. Los MacD estaban haciendo un buen negocio.Unos largos minutos más tarde, todavía estaba de pie junto al mostrador esperando el café. Finalmente, volvió a salir, dijo "lo siento por el retraso", me dio el café y volvió a entrar. Luego salió con otra orden y lo oí llamar a la cocina "2 jamón y huevos a continuación". Bien, pensamos, están recién cocinados. Me sorprende que este lugar haya permanecido abierto después de todas las terribles críticas que, de haber leído con antelación, me habrían influido para no visitarlas. Llamamos el miércoles por la noche en el camino a Manchester para recoger un bocadillo. Evitando los puntos de venta de comida rápida más conocidos, pensé que el "Café de comida fresca" podría ofrecer algo un poco diferente. Pedí una papa al horno con atún, mayonesa de limón y cebolla roja. Primero me dijeron que no tenían atún y luego que no tenían cebolla roja. Dije que la cebolla normal estaba bien y me dijeron que no había ninguna cebolla. Pedí mantequilla extra en mi papa y acepté prescindir de la cebolla. Llegó la comida y, cuando abrí la caja de poliestireno, me horroricé: una antigua y dura papa al horno gris (claramente recalentada varias veces), cubierta de atún seco (sin mayonesa y echada sobre la papa), sin mantequilla y una pequeña llovizna o mayonesa sin limón encima. Regresé la comida de inmediato, explicando que era casi incomible y no era lo que esperaba. Me dieron unos paquetes de mantequilla y unas cuantas ollas pequeñas de mayonesa y tuve que intentar mezclar el atún y la mayonesa. A lo largo de mi queja, la señora de la cocina me miró fijamente, sin hacer ningún esfuerzo por aplicar ningún tipo de servicio al cliente, y mucho menos una disculpa. Por este atroz servicio y calidad de comida, pagué más de 6. ¿Cómo este lugar permanece abierto y tiene las bolas para llamarse a sí mismo un café de comida fresca? Absolutamente evitar a toda costa. Confían en una audiencia cautiva de personas apresuradas / que pasan y que probablemente no se quejarán.

Do not eat here, truly terrible food and very bad service. Food arrived with no cutlery and toast served dry. Sausage bap truly inedible.

I called a couple of days ago and ordered the Breakfast Brunch which was prepared to order. I sat down and it arrived about 5 minutes later. I cannot believe how any self respecting chef could place what I was given in front of a paying customer. The baked beans were congealed, the bacon barely cooked, the sausage shrivelled and the egg was burned, how do you burn an egg? The only thing worth eating were the chips and the mushroom. If I'm passing that way again I'll take sandwiches.

This place advertises freshly cooked food which is very obviously untrue.

At the time of placing my order, I was the only customer having food, so it beggars belief that they got my order wrong. I couldn't be bothered taking it back as I was in shock at paying £9.14 for something that looked so sparse. The burger was lukewarm and the chips were ok, but £9.14? Were they taking the p**s charging this amount?

I don't think I've ever been anywhere as bad. Served by someone who I can only explain as being that high off drugs she literally forgot everything you said instantly....chef was quite vocal about not wanting to do our breakfast because the air con was on in the kitchen. This was definitely true as the breakfast was colder than a penguins foot.

First, AND last visit for breakfast, simply awful food, all cold despite being “fresh”

We stopped at these services for a hot drink and as there was no one waiting to be served at this outlet we headed there. Big mistake. 1 x coffee, 1 x tea & 1 piece of cake and not much change out of £10, this did though include an extra tea bag. The tea offered up looked more like hot water than tea so my wife asked for an extra tea bag - another £1 please madam !!!. You have got to be joking. 1100 catering pack of Tetley tea bags = £15.95 or 0.0145 pence each. I am all for private enterprise and business have to make a profit but 6750% mark up is just profiteering. Oh, and the cake was stale too.

I was pleased when I arrived to find several prominent posters regarding allergies and intolerances. My pleasure was short lived. I asked whether an item was Gluten free, but both staff members were clueless and ignorant in their attitude. I asked what else there was available but they were unable helpful. The Advertise themselves as selling freshly prepared food but this obviously cannot be the case if there was none there who knows what was in the food. It turns out that I was lucky, as the rest of the family were able to eat, but what arrived was typical overpriced slop that we have learned to expect from motorway services.

Really disappointed with service here. Our order of fish and chips would take 10-15 minutes I was told. When I pointed out other people behind me in queue were receiving orders I was told 'fish and chips take longer'.....as fish and chips were handed out! I eventually asked to change order, to be told 'one minute'. We had to get our money back as coach was leaving in less than 5 minutes. This necessitated getting supervisor to come (apparently also the cook) The performance to get money back was like taking part in a pantomime with much huffing and puffing from said supervisor. All this done while woman behind counter serving hatch laughed at us.

The wife said its the worst breakfast ever. I have to agree the only part of it was ok was the toast

Ate breakfast at the fresh food café at these services,Ordered 2 full English breakfasts and 2 teas,asked to wait at table and come back in a few minutes,went back not ready so asked if I could have the teas while we waited,no problem went back to wait,this kitchen did not operate a number system so you don't know when its yours that's ready.Went back to join a group of people waiting at the side as others seemed to get served that had gone to the counter after me.Woman brought back her breakfast complaining it was cold,i was asked what I was waiting for and seeing 2 breakfast with toast on the serving hatch said 2 full English but not toast,another man said he was waiting for toast, so the waiter took the round of toast off and gave it to the man and passed the breakfast to myself.The food was served on cold plates hence the food went cold pretty quick,went back to the tables and only after the wife commented on something we realised we were eating the smaller and cheaper traditional breakfast,went back to complain and was given a refund of the difference.The member of staff was polite and friendly but the serving system was useless. Stopped at a different service stop on our return journey and would advise anybody else to do the same!

At 7pm we broke our long journey. Fresh food is in a food hall almost next to McDonalds. I requested a jacket potato with fillings to be told there were none left. Reluctantly I requested an £8 'freshly made' burger instead. Despite being advertised as 'freshly made' the kitchen had to be asked if there were any left.My wife asked for lasagne. Again the kitchen staff had to be consulted first.When they arrived the burger was rubbery and tough and I could not cut into it. The cheese on top was not melted showing that the burger was only just warm. My wife's lasagne was pre prepared in a dish and warmed up. The mince was the sloppy almost smooth really cheap stuff and tasted horrible. My wife asked for ketchup for my burger and was told they had none despite a shelf full of it being on the shelf behind her.I took them back straight away and asked for a refund. The girl serving was embarrassed but the manager was quite surly. I opinioned that the preparation had been rushed as they were obviously trying to close but was told that they were open for another two hours yet. Strange the tables were being sealed off by stacking chairs in the access. I think that the staff were hoping for an early close and customers just got in the way.A horrible experience.

En route to Wales from Manchester my girlfriend and I decided to stop off here for some refreshments at 11:30. After a brief discussion about what/where to eat we decided to not go down the Mcdonalds route but opted for the breakfast menu at the 'fresh food cafe'. Looking at the menu we saw an option for a full breakfast for myself and eggs on toast for my girlfriend as they were available until midday and having checked my watch to see it was still only 11:40 my girlfriend proceeded to order said items. The cashier then informed us that the breakfast menu was finished and I would now have to have a brunch and my gf couldn't even have any toast!We bit the bullet despite protest and I ordered the brunch and when the assistant (a different one from on the till) came to where we sat with the food my gf asked why could she not have toast and was informed "I will see if I can rescue the toaster". Anyway we was brought 2 pieces of toast and informed we owed £1.99 for the privilege. So a total bill of £16 for 2 coffees a brunch and 2 slices of toast. My advice is next time, at £2 for 2 tiny slices of thin toast, the toaster can die. Don't bother 'rescuing' it on my accountAs a previous poster said, no wonder the Q at McD's was so big!

With my wife we called in on our way back from a holiday in Wales. The Thai soup and the latte coffees were really good. The facility is really clean. The serving staff were polite and pleasant. The only negative was the waiting time for two soups. By the time I got them the coffee was nearly cold. Try the soup and little loaf, great.

3 breakfasts for almost 30 quid...you'd expect it to be good! All day breakfast that cost around 7 pounds (1 pound extra if you want TOAST, robbing fecks)... one egg, one tiny sausage, one piece of bacon (it was obvious that the meat had been sitting in a hot cupboard or something all day as they were solid). Cold beans. No hash browns so we were served roast potatoes, nobody asked if we wanted roast potatoes instead (???). There were no mushrooms and they didn't even let us know or give extra anything, just served the plates without mushrooms. The linda mccartney sausages were uncooked and tasted just weird-they're really nice when cooked properly so that was disappointing. They should be microwaved then fried not oven cooked in the morning and left sitting around all day. Another member of our group had a breakfast wrap and the (meat) sausage in that was raw in the middle. I feel bad for those working as the place is a shambles and management really need to sort it out. Fortunately we got a refund and the people working were clearly trying their best with what they had but oh does this place need managing. You can't give such a tiny amount of poor quality food for 7 pound (8 with burnt toast) it's totally unjustifiable. Luckily mcdonalds is right next to it...

Quite possible the worst breakfast meal I have been presented by a commercial enterprise . The service was pleasant and friendly but offered no indication of the disaster that was to follow. We ordered the full English breakfast which on the hoarding above the counter looked reasonably appealing, showing as it did, two eggs , sausages and beans presented on a full plate . However what turned up was bore no resemblance to the advert. It was indescribely ugly . A single sausage that could have been used to level a wall . A single egg that had no semblance of a yolk . The beans were beans . The mushrooms were a blackened mulch . I shall resist comment on the bacon . The only thing that saved the disaster was the coffee . Over the decades motor way service centres have had a reputation for poor food. I'm afraid that fresh food cafe was anything but fresh I do hope they improve

This place is located within a group of cafes next to a hotel and major service area off the M56.I went here for breakfast and was delighted to see pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, a favorite of mine from when I lived in Canada.I was not disappointed by my choice, beautiful fluffy pancakes, crispy American style strip bacon and oh so sweet maple syrup. I will be having this again!Plenty of variety at this place or with the Costa cafe or McDonald's. The venue is open 24 hours and I was able to get a late night meal the night before and a decent cup of tea.
