Quirky little cafe that is tastefully decorated. Serves homemade cakes, scones etc. I would recommend this cafe to my friends for a champagne breakfast anytime.

My family and I have many great memories of French Fancy’s. Staff were always great and the food deliciously home cooked. The owners always took time to stop and talk to our children, making this tea house their favourite in Weybridge by a country mile. One cannot put a price on being made to feel welcome. We are very sad to see you close but wish you all the best for the future. Keep making those beautiful cakes !

Went for breakfast with family. My meal was a tiny portion of avacado on toast with egg, single slice of very thin bread and it costs £8.50!! I complained and staff told me someone would come to talk to me about it, but they didn't bother. The other meals were OK but there are far better places in Weybridge and lots of better choices. Avoid!

Had a lovely afternoon with friends celebrating 3 birthdays with afternoon tea. The ladies who run it could not have been more accommodating. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was mouthwatering. We recently hired French Fancies for a hen party of 20 people. The owners were very accommodating with allowing us to decorate the tea salon and play our own music. We had the whole salon to ourselves for 3 hours, where we played games, enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea and drank ample prosecco. Would definitely recommend as a lovely local venue for private functions.

We booked a table for 10 people for afternoon tea to celebrate a very special family birthday. Service was slow, food very extremely disappointing, cakes were frozen, sandwiches were thick doorsteps with cheap fillings and scones were poor. None of the food appeared to be home made or fresh ingredients. Overall an extremely bad afternoon tea. Sadly will not be rebooking.

My friend and I met for a late morning tea at French Fancy's. I had never been in the shop, as I usually am a coffee drinker in the morning. I got a teacake (quite simple, my choice, as I am not a dessert person). It was a lovely warmed teacake, and the server suggested Mayfair breakfast tea to go with it. There are a large selection of teas, so would like to try something a bit more "exotic" but the breakfast tea was excellent. The shop is very small, and it was quite busy. A good sign, of course ! But, being small, it was quite noisy. It was very hard to hear my friend...so if you are wanting a chat, I would watch out about what time you choose. I did read some of the reviews, and I must admit that I did not read that the shop closes at 4pm on the door. The review where the customer said that her friends ran late, and the owner was rude is a concern to me - the server should have politely warned the late arrival friends that it was near closing time and that they might want to head over to one of the many coffee shops in Weybridge if they wanted to continue. In this case, if I was the owner, I would have served them cake, even near closing time....it makes all the difference. If you want return customers. A couple of cakes on plates should not be a problem. In any case, it is a nice place to have tea - just take note of the closing hours plus possible noisy atmosphere due to size of the tea salon.

I have previously written a glowing review for French Fancies but last week I was taken aback by the rudeness of the owner. I arrived at 3 for a good catch up with two friends who sadly got held up and didn't arrive until 3.40. While I was waiting I order my tea and a biscuit ...all good. My friends eventually arrived and ordered there coffee and an iced tea of which arrived probably five minutes later. So we began to catch up and enjoy our drinks when my friend who was probably a third through her iced tea went up to order a couple of fancy biscuits to which the owner replied sorry we are closed! We were shocked we had no idea they closed at 4 and still all had drinks to be drunk! As we paid our bill five minutes later as it was clear we were overstaying our welcome I said to the owner that it would have been nice if she had perhaps told us when we ordered that they in fact closed in just under twenty minutes time. Her reply was rude...you she said arrived at 3! And it tells you on the door that we close at 4! Her attitude was appalling. All we needed when she took our order was a 'now ladies I just need to warn you that we do in fact close at 4 just so you know' we then had the choice to go elsewhere or not. Good luck to you because with that sort of attitude running a buisiness your going to need it! Oh and just one more point..the opening times are on your door...if you remember rightly the day was warm and when we arrived the door was wedged open so we would not have seen the closing time.

I recently spent a month in Weybridge visiting family and discovered this wonderful little place. Tashana and Suzanne are welcoming and friendly - they also allow dogs inside which to me is an added bonus. I ended up visiting very regularly (ok there was that day I visited twice because I had to try the cakes). Tashana even went out of her way to ensure I got my Turmeric Latte (which she has now put on the menu - try it - it's great). Food was always fresh and delicious and it is just a lovely place. Unfortunately, the weather was awful when I was there but they have a lovely little outside area too which would be the perfect spot to enjoy a prosecco. Thanks, Tashana and Suzanne for looking after me during my visit to the UK. I'll be back!

For my birthday this year we enjoyed a delicious gluten free cake from French Fancy's. I contacted Tashana three days before the big event and she was quick to respond and very accommodating. She even delivered the cake to our house. The cake was beautifully presented and a very generous size. It was moist, light and fluffy with a lovely fruity centre. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed it and all said it was the best gluten free cake they had ever tasted. We are fairly regular customers to the tea room, enjoying good coffee, cakes and yummy brunches and lunches. Highly recommend!!

Having purchased a voucher (2for1 afternoon tea) I was looking forward to trying somewhere different for an afternoon tea with my family. The website and menu offering looked good. Sadly the promise did not live up in reality. Whilst the surroundings were pleasant, sitting by the front door which was left open next to a pedestrian crossing was not ideal. The table was laid up nicely and when the cake stand was delivered to the table whilst looked impressive was quite average. Sandwiches were clumsy looking, scones a bit dry and whilst several bits of cake were on offer, the shop bought fondant fancies cheapened the offering. In the menu it is stated that macaroons and mini eclairs are included in the afternoon tea but were missing. When I queried this I was asked what flavour I wanted and one macaroon was brought over for me but nothing for my husband and daughter. Coupled with a no show of our prosecco until I again queried it, too many people serving but not ensuring everything was satisfactory. Sadly the website and photos create a very different picture to what the customer gets. A shame really as it could have been so good. I agree with previous comments about Weybridge prices and not as good as other local offerings.

I have visited French Fancy on a number of occasions, enjoying breakfast after a class; lunch with friends; a slice of cake and a pot of tea with my mum; and we have also had afternoon tea on mother's day. So when it came to finding the perfect cake for my daughter's first birthday, French Fancy was my first port of call. The cakes are always delicious and there is consistently a variety of flavour combinations. In fact, once there were three slices of different cakes for two. Tashana was incredibly helpful with the design of the cake and when we collected it, it looked amazing! It tasted incredible, with all the party guests asking after the lady who baked it! It was so light and fluffy, I will certainly be buying more of our occasion cakes from French Fancy.

The restaurant is very attractive and the service was obliging, but my meal was terrible. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and bacon with coleslaw on the side. What I got was a pile of shredded red cabbage and carrot without mayonaise or any other dressing to moisten it and a hot "jacket" potato which showed no sign of ever having been introduced to radiant heat. It was very hot but the skin was flabby and translucent. The waitress assured me it had been baked not microwaved, but I can't imagine how they got that result in an oven. I know I had cheese because I saw it, but I certainly didn't taste it. On the plus side, the bacon was tasty.

The mother and daughter team run a fabulous "shop" - reasonably priced and the kind of service you only find in owner-managed establishments. An absolute must of you're in Weybridge around tea and scone time; the leaf tea comes in a proper sized pot with a timer, will delight tea lovers. The scones are made on the premises and are truly the best I've tasted - juicy, no crumbles and more than enough cream and jam. A visit for tea and scones is a must for all our guests from abroad. I initially had high hopes for this place as I love nothing better than finding a great tea room that serve gluten free cake. My daughter had visited just after it opened and had reported great things, and told me that she had noticed they sold Gluten Free cake. So as a treat this afternoon we thought we'd pop along. Disappointed is how we were left feeling. They only had one GF cake and it was a banana and dark chocolate cake, so that is what I ordered. the cake did not taste of banana in the slightest, and all I could taste was an over powering taste of burnt fruit, almost like an over done Christmas cake. The only thing going for it, was that it was moist, which is somewhat a rarity when it comes to GF baked goods. My daughter had a red velvet cake, that was far from fresh and particularly dry and crumbly, the saving grace being that my daughter said although very dry, it did taste very nice. The tea selection is good, but I would expect nothing less from a "Tea Salon". When I went to pay, I told the lady that the cake was very bad and that mine was inedible. She couldn't have given a jot. She just said "well no one else complained" then tried to charge me £12.60 for it, even though there is an advertisement on the board outside for "tea and cake for £5". So I queried the total, her reply "oh yes, so it is". Really really poor service, and a great disappointment. I won't be rushing back.

We pointed it out and said we expected poached eggs to be soft. We were told we would have to wait ages for replacement eggs as we'd be at the back of the queue. My husband said shouldn't those that have received their food already be priority? Was told no you'll be at the back of a queue they'll take ages! Not a friendly face in site by this point!

Firstly, a salad should be more than a small bunch of leaves, a slice of tomato and cucumber with it would have been appreciated. Spinach and mozzarella quiche small portion and I don't know how they made the filling so thin. Croque Monsieur was no more than a ham and cheese toastie. If this is a new cafe they need to concentrate on the food as well as furnishings. Sorry, not recommended!

My partner and I came out a little while ago for a little date to watch the rugby. I learnt when we arrived that their cocktail menu is very bare. (DON’T come, if you’re coming for cocktails - even the basics ones! also NO food being served even though the website says they do!) I made my disappointment clear to the very young looking bartender about not having any cocktails. He said he could make me an off menu ‘special’ cocktail he learnt while he was living in Africa. It was special type of customer service I had never experienced before! My partner had a very fine New Zealand Savvy B. All negatives aside, the pub is very affordable for it being in the centre of Weybridge, cozy decor and both were staff were excellent. They also have a pool table at the back!! Don’t see that too often nowadays. Recommend if you’re ever in the weybridge area and in need of some cheap booze!

Ryan - what a star- friendly attentive and professional. Thanks for the lovely service and great food. Treacle tart! This isn’t seen on enough menus! Well done hand and spear

I really miss the place that did a roast in a massive Yorkshire pud as you walked into the services. That was some time ago now! Always busy here, a popular stop but nice food options and clean toilets.

Disappointed. Walked in and it smelt funny. Tea pot filthy. Coffee bitter. Didn’t drink and walked away to Mada Deli up the road.
