We went on a very busy evening and was told there would be a 45 minute wait for food. As we were with friends, the wait time felt much shorter and the food was amazing!

Very clean,spacious and modern.always been welcomed with friendly staff.never felt I've overpaid for anything(AND I'M REALLY TIGHT😂).

Decided to give the Freeman Arms a go as I heard they did breakfast from 12 to 1 and I must say, what a delicious breakfast it was. Food was great, as was the service from Ashleigh. She went above and beyond to make our experience the best. We even decided to stay for a few drinks as it was that good. A proper pub! Fantastic selection of beers on draught and such an extensive menu. Absolutely 10/10!! Can’t wait to come back again.

This pub is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely brilliant—so tasty I catch myself thinking about it later. Everything is top quality, from the meals to the service. Ashleigh and the rest of the staff are friendly, attentive, and really make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. There’s also plenty of parking, which is a huge plus. Whether you’re popping in for lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend for great food, great service, and a great time!

Great place for a quick lunch on a Friday. Ashleigh (bar maid) is very friendly and helpful, to the point she pretty much knows what we're ordering each week 😀

Staff are so rude and most unhelpful!! They stare and make you feel very uncomfortable. Not a very nice place at all. Never again!

Had the Burger of the Month Chicken Caesar today. Great service, the staff were all very kind and friendly. The food came quickly and was served nice and hot. The chicken from the burger was crispy and delicious. A great meal. Fantastic experience coming here for food. Would definitely come here again.

The food was spot on. Filled a hole for me and my friend. The drinks to follow went down a treat. So good we had three or four. We will be back for lunch and dinner as the staff made us very welcome and wanted. See you soon freemans arms

We was in for lunch today and what a great bunch of staff you guys have. The food was amazing. The chef done well And had a couple of drinks to follow my food. We happened to stay for a few drinks after as the atmosphere was lovely to stay in. I will be coming back for more food and drinks in the future

Service not great and the toilets were the worst I've seen, dark brown toilets, 1 super narrow cubicle and the other with no lock, pee all.over the floor..a good cleaner with a few bottles of bleach wouldn't go a miss and a lick of paint.

Because the staff are always helpful above and beyond with anything you require cannot fault the staff or the food every time we have visited them have been brilliant

Popped in for breakfast yesterday morning. Had the big breakfast. Was amazing would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Went to watch the football good tvs everywhere and had the cheese and bacon burger with side of chicken wings. Food came quick and the service was very good. The bar tender with the Purple hair in particular always made sure my glass was full.

Went for the Euro's, very good in reserving a table. It was a great atmosphere and food good. It was very busy but still got served quite quickly. Nice staff and would go there again for food and drinks. Great place to watch all the sports

We were here for the England v Netherlands Euro '24 semi-final. The place was heaving but the bar staff & waitresses were top notch & had smiles on their faces all night. Can't praise you all highly enough. Looking forward to the final on Sunday!

Haven’t been to this pub in years as it had drastically gone downhill, however since it’s rebrand I’ve heard good things so decided to give it a go at lunchtime with my husband for a bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to see new much fresher decor which gives a welcoming feel. The lunch menu was great value and included a drink. They serve inch’s cider on tap which went down lovely with our meal. Loads of choice on the menu and service was quick. Our server was absolutely lovely but I didn’t catch her name she had dark hair and was chatting to me about her daughter so hopefully you can pass the praise on to her. We liked it so much we came back the following week as well and will make it a regular thing! The pub has really had a turn around for the better & its nice to have a welcoming local back

I've been in there watching the Euros, and I must say the service by the waitresses has been excellent. It's been pretty crowded with boisterous football fans, but they've kept their cool, and continued to bring the drinks round on trays, with smiley faces. Well done girls!

I have been meaning to leave this review for a while, we have been visiting more frequently as this pub has just got better and better over recent years! Good pub food that's reasonably priced, really great atmosphere and the best place to watch sport, play a game of pool or just relax with family / friends. There are very few good traditional pubs left, so we're very happy to have one locally!

Always so welcoming in the Freemans, the staff are always working hard and friendly. The manager Lee, Ashley and his team are always on the ball and keep the pub, friendly and welcoming for all to enjoy.

Absolutely lovely pub...proper pub feel with friendly staff...got chatting to some regulars and the landlord...top find! Will definitely be back and the loaded fries were very tasty. They also do a pensioners menu so will bring my mum next time!

Popped in since we are staying locally. Great pub. Food is good and well priced and the garden is really good. Best of all, there's a decent selection of ales and the staff are all really friendly. Lee the landlord is a really nice chap and is very knowledgeable. Would recommend if your looking for a good pub in Ashford.

Went for supper and to see the England game. Food was hot and tasty and the staff were cheerful and helpful and doing an amazing job given the number of people in the pub.

Had an excellent meal with my son and grandson at the weekend I tried the steak an ale pie which was very tasty and huge my son had the chicken burger which he also enjoyed the staff were excellent and checked to make sure we were happy with everything we had so would definitely return again.

Short pints served here. Had to ask for it to be topped up. £3-90 for a pint of green king ipa 3.4% alcohol. Had just had a pint of Ruddles in Wetherspoons 3.7% for £1-79. No beer price list anywhere I did look. Very few people in at lunchtime on a Tuesday I wonder why? Toilets are the worst imaginable. Won't be going back.

Whether we go with friends, family or as a couple, we always have a great time. All of the staff are lovely, friendly and make you feel so welcome. There's always a good atmosphere, it has a nice beer garden and shows all the sports you need. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited the Freemans Arms to try the burger of the month. The food was first class and arrived quickly. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. A nice spacious pub with a good atmosphere, serving food and drink at competitive prices. I recommend a visit.

An enjoyable experience - food was great, atmosphere was so fun! We had the steak pie - it was cooked perfectly, and our server Caz was so welcoming and happy! I have never met such a positive person and it was a joy to be served by her. I aim to come back every week now! Also the sports on TV were good, love to see them. One last thing - shout out to the kitchen manager Seren, she cooked our food perfectly and even came out herself to see if we were enjoying ourselves!! 10/10 would come back

Had a lovely mixed grill at lunchtime which was delicious and all meat was cooked to perfection. Ashleigh our waitress was very attentive and chatty. We would definitely come again.

I am a manager/chef at a gk myself. Popped in 3 times over the week I was visiting home for my 30th birthday. Got a fair judge on menu as we ate from starters and mains aswell as having the Sunday menu. My friends had steak (which was cooked perfectly) I had the katsu which was also lovely. All food fairly priced. Now the Sunday lunch? Blew all our minds! The roast beef was some of the best I've had in a restaurant especially at this price point. Unbelievable value. Every single aspect of the roasts was top notch and all 3 of us basically licked our plates clean. Service is top notch, predominantly female bar team all great. Kitchen manager is a star and her food is fantastic. Cannot give this pub enough hype. Great food, great service. Lovely beer garden and loads of TV for sports. And the price point is so affordable for the amazing time you have there.

Went for lunch. Sent chicken back as it was cold. Food is very basic and poor. Manager was unwelcoming and abrupt. Bar lady with green highlights was lovely. Would not visit again.

Best local roast beef by some distance. Good enough to motivate this review. Overall a well run family friendly yet lively local pub with attentive and accountable staff, good selection of beers (and rum) and excellent quality and value foodwise all week. Well done to all involved

We went into have a meal today the 15th of March what a disaster waited not far off a hour for meal to arrive mushy peas were cold and Some of the chips were so hot in the middle and others were warm it seemed the dinner was heated in a microwave.Then we waited for pudding to arrive nearly half a hour .for such a simple meal it was a disaster Told the girl we were going and did not want the pudding .I have to say the girl who served us was very polite and gave a full Refund. We will never go there again

We went as a family for Mother’s Day. The waitress was friendly enough but didn’t point out it was buy food at the bar! Was sat there for ages til we noticed the sign 😂 The other waitress was even friendlier. The food was okay, but not exceptional. The only thing I’d avoid is the squid - my own fault really for ordering pub squid but it really was rubbery and the batter was undercooked. The roast beef was lovely, I’d definitely like to see more vegetables on it though! The burgers were decent. The kids meals were decent, they chowed it down. Very friendly with children, spoke to them like humans which is quite rare and we appreciated that. Considering how busy it was the wait staff were attentive and came multiple times asking if we needed anything. I’d definitely go again.

We went for Sunday Lunch. We had booked a table and as no one came to welcome us we went and found the table ourselves. When we went to place the orders we were told No garden peas only mushy peas, no garlic bread with the Mac and Cheese, it seems strange things to run out of. Service was quite slow, but when the food came it was very good. The waitress that brought the food was friendly. We ordered a desert, I ordered Blackberry and Apple Crumble with Custard, pity the crumble was heated in the microwave. I had no apple and two very small blackberries, in the sauce were cherries? The custard was delicious but the crumble left much to be desired. Would I visit again? Not really sure, but I would definitely pass on the crumble.

Okay for a local drink I thought tye menu could do with a few more things service great

What an excellent pub with really welcoming locals. I really enjoyed the food and also the friendly poker game. The staff were great and good screens to watch the snooker and football.

Staff here are amazing. Always super friendly no matter how busy it gets. Food is great value & not had a bad meal in here yet. Great music & karaoke nights out on. Often pop in to watch the football & always find a great atmosphere. Child & dog friendly. A great local!

Two stars for the lovely staff. Four of five meals ordered not edible at all. Two meals sent back, came out second time even worse. So bad I don’t even know what to say. A combo of raw veg and burnt to a crisp pigs in blanket that they have the cheek of charging extra for. Gravy came out looking like jelly on a plate. Hunter’s chicken rock hard you could break a tooth, chips looked like they’d been cooked seven time and carrots you could play hockey with so hard. Aside from the poor quality, absolutely shocking presentation too. No pride at all. Good just thrown on the plate. A very, very poor day for the kitchen staff. Nothing went well. Grateful for a refund and the kindness of the lovely serving staff.

I had the pleasure of being served by Sophie at The Freemans Arms, and I must say, her customer service skills are top-notch! Sophie was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Sophie recommendations were spot on. Her warm and welcoming demeanor made our evening at the pub truly enjoyable. Sophie's excellent service added to the overall fantastic experience at The Freemans Arms. We'll definitely be returning. She would make a great Manager.

Lovely, quirky pub. Decided to sit in bar area as so husband was in view of one of the many tvs. Service at bar was quick and efficient, food came when they said it would and was amazing quality
