The food and coffee were both delicious. The staff were excellent! Our large, normally well behaved labrador managed to stand up and up end a table with our coffees on. Not only did the staff member clean up and wipe the table clean, she did it in a friendly and pleasant way saying 'don't worry, accidents happen'. They immediately replaced our coffee, and wouldn't take payment for it. If you're ever in King's Langley, please support them.

Lovely little coffee shop at the end of the high street. I have visited here many times over the years and nothing has come close to their coffee quality. The team always deliver a warm greeting when someone enters. Their granola with coconut yoghurt is so good!

We were staying at the Premier Inn and had planned to go into London for breakfast but are plans changed. The place was clean and exceptionally friendly. It was welcoming from the offset, if I lived closer I would work out of here daily. I got there quite late for breakfast but managed to purchase fresh croissants, butter and jams with a selection of pastries. It was so nice I went back in the afternoon with my daughter. The coffee was warm, fresh and delicious. I was served with a smile by Jack who made the whole experience one to remember. I will return tomorrow before heading home. I will certainly be telling friends and family to try this place.

I'd heard great things about this place and it looked nice enough. I was not entirely sure about the sinks as decoration. Surely instead of filling then with polystyrene and fake plants and dirty items, the small display cabinet could be enlarged to display the food better? The decor was unfinished with ply board stuck to the walls. I was not sure if this was to try to be intentionally cool, but it just looked like a bit of ply wood stuck to the wall. I ordered an Americano with milk to go. The staff were pleasant enough, but I wouldn't call them enthusiastic - I'm sure the original advert for staff probably had this as a requirement, but it was lacking on the day I went . The coffee was given to me in one of those tiny polystyrene cups that you might get in a church hall after a service and run by old ladies who usually knit, the type of cup you get very milky tea in when you're desperate for something hot, but you're happy to hand over 10p for it. It is not the type of cup you fill with coffee that you charge almost £3 for. An Americano is usually a large drink for a start so I was shocked to be handed this in a cup so tiny and insignificant, but I thought, well obviously the coffee inside must be of such high quality that I'm sure I can forgive this oversight. Maybe they had simply ran out of the type of cups you would expect from such an establishment. But sadly the coffee was bad, and when I say bad, I mean really bad. I had one sip and threw it in the bin. I genuinely say this, but if I was the owner and I had run out of cups. I would rather give it in proper mugs and apologise and encourage people to stop and sit instead. But to offer such substandard coffee is I'm afraid, quite unforgivable. I could not see any other coffee shops along the road, so they have the monopoly in the area. But if there are any would-be coffee shop owners out there looking for a new place to open a coffee shop, I would encourage you to open here in town. And please don't worry, because after all, you will not have any competition from Fred and Ginger.

We called in here whilst on our way to visit the nearby Harry Potter Studio. It is literally 5 minutes away so we checked a few reviews and decided to give it a go. Well the reviews don’t lie, this place is a real gem. We managed to squeeze in to a little corner table and opted for a warm teriyaki chicken sandwich and one of the bean salad options, followed by a selection of the cakes. Wow, the sandwich as delicious and the salad really tasty, but the best bit was the cakes and coffee after. The real favourite being the pecan and cranberry flapjack, absolutely delicious. So good we bought a bag of it and some extra brownies to take home. Coffee probably one of the best you will ever taste and the staff were really friendly. Shame we didn’t live closer, but then if we did we would be in all the time….

For a relatively small place there is a lot of choice. The shop itself is not in the most accessible place on the High Street but despite this it is always very busy.. I think that is testament to what a nice place it is.I believe they have opened another Fred & Ginger in Berkhamsted and that is just as successful and that branch is also not in the best place. Fred and Ginger in Kings Langley looked enticing when I searched for places to have coffee. Their website looks fantastic and according to it 'Alongside our bespoke house blend from Campbell & Syme we also offer an ever changing guest espresso and filter coffee option to showcase coffees from different origins and roasteries.' On arrival, however, the place looked small and packed, with very few pastries available. No croissants, and when I enquired about the coffee varieties available I was informed that they only offer house blend and decaf. Sadly, even their pricey house blend was disappointing.. The staff was friendly though.

We visited as soon as the cafe opened on Sunday morning- quite a queue had formed outside waiting for the doors to open, showing its popularity. We tried the sausage rolls, filled and toasted croissants, almond croissant/pastry and toast. I think what I really like about F&G; is that, as a fifty+ yo man, I almost don't fit the atmosphere. But they get it just right. It is stylish, with lots of attention to detail - but it is still essentially contemporary/country cafe. Cool - but not achingly so. Bustling, with mostly young helpful staff, great coffee and food - there is always a buzz. In fact, if it is busy sharing a table with people you didn't come out with may be necessary. Saying that I have always enjoyed making new friends over coffee!

I drive and walk past Fred and Ginger nearly every day, and yet I never went in until today. Don't know why I didn't: it looks inviting enough from outside, and it's got a nice vibe. Meeting a friend for lunch, I thought it would be the best opportunity to finally visit - and it was as good as it promised to be. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious (the salad looked a bit "too healthy", if you see what I mean, but it was really delicious), the selection of cakes was great. The location is also good, on Kings Langley main street, the big glass front lets you watch the world go by while enjoying your food. I will visit again, but maybe for an afternoon tea rather than lunch: the cakes looked very good.....

The unfortunate factor that gave us a negative experience was that of the heat. WHY have the company not invested in an air conditioning system?! My favourite thing about this place has to be the staff. The service is impeccable! Every single one I've been served by has been polite, attentive, and they never seen too busy to chat with me and other customers despite the place always being packed, and seem to have a genuine interest in your life. No one I know has any complaints, and I'm going to keep coming back because it's the loveliest place ever! Well done guys!

My wife and I sat outside on a glorious summer's day for a mid-morning coffee and cake. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was just right for a relaxing hour.

My partner and I popped into plates on the off chance they had space on a Friday night, luckily they had space! we were actually on our way to an Indian restaurant around the corner, and I am so glad we took a chance on plates. They had a set meal (including meat) for £48pp and I must say it was well worth the money! We had to take our food away because it was so much. The flavours were incredible, we loved trying Pani puri- such a fun experience, all of the meat dishes were so tender and delicious. I don't have a bad thing to say! The stand out dishes were the tortilla, chicken curry, greens & paneer, and the rice, poppadoms and naan were better than I have ever tried before! Service was amazing, we loved the personal touch, to be able to speak with the owner & chef. If you have tried plates for brunch, you must try their Indian plates! Incredible- coming from someone who generally is not a fan of Indian food..

Great selection of beers, including local breweries. Wine portfolio is excellent. Drink in for a small corkage or take away. Great service. Not stayed for food yet
