Disappointed in the quality of curry sauce and scampi’ only to find out they buy it from the low budget supermarket next door and then charge at very high prices

Full chips lovely, a lot of scrappy chips. Poor size portion and prices are now astronomical. Large chips £3.20 and sausages over £1 . A chippy lunch is not cheap anymore. Very small for large chips

Unhappy with the new prices. Way too expensive. I’d dread to pay for a full family chippy night Quality of sausage is now poor. Maybe changed recently but I’m not fond of them Some chips still hard today

Incredibly rude staff, asked my partner in front of a shop full of customers to leave. I’m guessing it was due to the response he gave them during lockdown when we tried to place an order by phone and there was no reply. By the time we go to the shop he was told that walk-in orders were not being taken - only for them to answer the phone while he was outside the shop. Incompetent service time and again. The order was incorrect although I had asked the girl to confirm my order, she clearly wasn’t interested. The fish was good albeit wrong order.

Went for Fish & Chips from this Venue for an evening Meal. It was p;ossible to pre-order by phone, but we could not get through, which was a good thing as they explained thay could not answer the phone as they were too busy. The Fish & Chips were freshly cooked with portions of a good size. Can recommend this Chippy. TIP. the staff suggested if you want sn evening meal you should ring in the afternoon and pre-order for a chosen time.

Staff don’t smile and act like they don’t want to be there Chips are bland. Good job for salt and vinegar Fish was lovely and batter crisp Very expensive

I visited after reading the reviews but honestly wished I didn't bother. Batter on the cod was soggy rather than crispy and the chips seemed like they had been refried, I wouldn't bother coming here, which is a shame

I decided at the last minute to go to Frasers. 2 young ladies working plus another lady in the background. I stood nearly 15 minutes in the shop, not in the queue, I was at the front. Ignored by staff. Both staff making up orders. Not a word to me. When I asked how much longer I was told that they were busy with orders!!! Well you know walk ins are just as valuable as phone orders. I took my business else where and had a lovely dinner around 20 minutes later. Thankfully there are other places on Main Street that are not so dismissive of their customers.

Delicious! Preordered for the family and everyone enjoyed it. Take a carrier bag as they’ll offer you a paper one for 20p - but that’s a good thing. Benches outside in case you are really hungry!! Yum!

Fitted me in today even tho it was booking only due to covid by 12noon I tucked into my fish n chips was really nice as always, Thanks to the Staff for fitting me in

Very disappointed today. Chips were very poor and tasteless although Jumbo sausage nice. Gravy was too watery. Chips, sausage and small gravy £5 - too expensive. Won’t return

Lots of choice here and all looked really good. Tried several diferent options on the menu and was well pleased until I tried the traditional fish and chips. Totally dripping in cooking oil, really bad. Taste was ruined by the oily texture. Sorry Frasers but what a let down.

Had to wait for fish to be cooked. Fish was lovely, chips with salt and vineger were nice. A little expensive

needed lunch and was glad we stopped at Fraser's the fish and chips were well portioned great batter and perfect chips, only down side was that we had to ask for table to be cleaned.

Frasers fish and chips is a nice takeaway compared to other fish and chips shops. I had chips which were nice and fish which the batter wasn’t the best but the actual fish was nice which you could take into St Bees which is a little sea side village with a nice view of the sea.

Had an hour to kill in Egremont and called in to Fraser's restaurant, great cake and coffee and the other food on offer looked delicious.

Been to frazers a few times 4 a take away hot chocolate, although nice prices never the same, today asked for a chocolate drink, price again different, drink luke warm definitely will not recommend

What can I say Frazer’s sells everything from fish n chips to baggets, home made meat n potato pie, lasanya, pizza , sit in or takeaway it’s all cooked fresh . Basically if it’s edible they sell it great food Great prices 👍

A popular busy place but even tho queues at times it's all worth waiting for. Quick and efficient service

Probably the best fish and chips in the area, friendly efficient staff. An expansive menu of other foods available. There is also a cafe / restaurant adjoining if you want to sit down and enjoy the tasty food.

This little gem looks like a traditional fish and chip shop but it is much more than that. The fish and chips are excellent but don't miss out on the adjoining restaurant where there is a good choice of either eat in or takeaway options.

We come here regularly for a bite to eat, i have had take away food here, but enjoy sitting inside, large menu ith traditional fish and chips, huge selection of sandwiches and lovely home made cakes and tray bakes. Lots of choice for food and for drinks, always enjoy my lunch here

Really yummy fish and chips, very good quality fish cooked perfectly. We ate in the cafe side and were a party of 14 and all served very quickly

We recently finished walking the coast to coast raising money for Southmead Hospital Charity. Our start point at St Bees was made several times better by stopping off at Frasers to pick up several meals from this particularly fine example of British Fish and Chips. What a great way to start such a beautiful coastal walk. The good people at the StoneHouse Farm B&B; recommended Frasers to us and they were right to do so. Many thanks.

Fish and chips as good as they can be. The fish is moist, not totally dried out like some, I guess because they buy decent size fillets and know how to cook them. The chips are very good also. They have a god take away menu and you can ring up and beat the queue.

Feeling at a lose end, run out of liquid for the washing machine too! so went into Egremont to the Factory Shop Toft's got what I needed and bought a few little extra bit's and pieces too!, when hunger struck! my first thought was Frasers@32 for a deep fried battered, freshly landed piece of Cod, ( I know a fresh piece of fish when I taste it as I live next door to a local Fisherman! and my fish today was very fresh!) served with proper chipped potatoe's none of your pretend chip's served at Fraser's and their mushy pea's are to die for!, I had a small portion and that believe me that was far from small, it was served very quickly and pipping hot, and I also had a pot of tea freshly brewed, believe me when I say, I realy enjoyed my meal, I've been serveal times with my friend while shopping in Egremont, which is a lovely wee town with family run shop's, a very good butcher, as well as a couple of small super market's, plus a couple of good Charity shop's too.

When straight out of the pan it is excellent, but if its been there a while its not so good chip portions can be mean sometimes avoid good friday .....packed

We had a large portion of cod which had very crispy batter and good chips. Good also to be able to eat in.

Fish and chips, mushy peas, bread and butter. Drinks are cans of fizzy juice or you can have a tear or coffee. The quality is excellent and the place is clean. Staff are helpful, simple food, simply served, perfect!

We had a fish and chips here. Everything was freshly prepared and the fish portions were huge. We could have comfortably shared a fish and chips between two people. Very nice!

Estábamos en la calle. Las abejas y tenía un coche de Egremont a hacer un poco de compras y conseguir algo de pescado y patatas para el almuerzo. El pescado estaba recién preparado mientras esperamos y las patatas fritas eran bien preparado. Se obtiene buenas porciones de tamaño aquí.

En un reciente viaje a los lagos occidentales, me apetecía unas patatas fritas, no había chip Holmrook seascape, así que nos dimos un paseo en coche a egermont y fue un largo viaje en coche. Y las patatas fritas encontramos Frasers era encantador, muy bien...

Had to wait for cod to be cooked as the haddock seems to be the local dish but it was worth the wait, a lovely large cod in crispy batter and the mushy peas where a treat all slightly let down by the chips, not quite cooked enough, but overall a very enjoyable supper if slightly on the expensive side.

Quite a busy chippy and restaurant. Staff are pleasant but one in particular needs to change her career route if she doesnt like working there. Expensive prices compared to other restaurants and cafes. Very clean place, tables and chairs outside, beautiful when the weathers nice

A visit to Egremont is not complete without a visit to Frasers for egg and chips. Great service great food. My partner and father had fish and chips and they enjoyed their meal too. Save room for pudding especially if they have lemon merengue pie.

Just had an excellent fish and chips lunch. Crunchy, light batter on a slim, moist and tasty fish.The waitress was so friendly.

My friend and I called into Fraser's for fish and chip's after we'd visited the computer shop opposite, and before we ventured further into Whitehaven, because our tummy's were rumbling! I do recommend that you do too, it's lovely, clean and welcoming, the fish is totally fresh I don't think you could get it any fresher! beautifully cooked, the batter out of this world in it's lightness, chip's good and crispy and the mushy pea's just right, good cup of tea too, bread and butter fresh, what more could you want! nothing I would venture! do try it when passing through Egremont next time! 10 out of 10!!!!

Called here for lunch,we ordered jacket potaoes and a latte.The potato was lovely,oven baked with a good side salad with homemade coleslaw.Reasonable priced and the service was good.Would call again

Called in with the wife for lunch on her break.We come here quite often because it's just up the road and the food is good.We both had jacket and cheese and beans with salad.Well presented and nice and piping hot.Move waitress is always running around because it's a busy spot. Not sure what's she's called but she's always there. Little blonde girl early twenties. Really good at her job. Even when it's busy she's always smiling and polite.Maybe coffee is good to.We come here for fish and chips every few weeks with the kids. Done fresh with nice batter. Frankie always has a little chat with you while she's serving. Cracking little place.

Went tonight to buy Fish and chips for our supper,the fish was fab,large,freshly cooked and lovely. The chips where so disappointing ,such a stupidly small portion compered to the size of the fish.My 7 year old( who does not eat alot) wondered where all her chips had gone and my 11 year old who had just done a 25 mile cycle ride needed at least double the potion he received....could do better

The cafe is attached to the chipshop but serves really good coffee. On a Friday morning there was a good crowd in which is usually a good sign so we sat on the last vacant table and were not disapointed.Charming young lady serving which is always nice.

Let me ask you this. When you want fish and chips, or the odd jumbo sausage where do you go? You go to the best chip pie in the area, and as far as I'm concerned it's here.Don't know who complained about grumpy staff, but they probably got the wrong place. Always a queue, often out the door. Speaks volumes eh?I would call in your order first if you need quicker service, but for all said and done we keep going back for our Friday treat. Lovely

I went bought takeout food from Frasers several times during my short stay in Cumbria. Every time I went in the staff were unfriendly and often grumpy. They made me feel uncomfortable when ordering by the way they spoke and looked at me. The food was nice and that was the only reason that I returned a few times. Please ask your staff to cheer up and serve with a smile.

I have to say I was at age conern at the day care centre at egremont over 21 years ago and I can remember fish and chips and they 10 out 10 so I would say go try they fish chips on a summer day and they are best from stephen mc donald

Every Friday from work we order from here. Excellent menu and everything is available even early in the morning. Fish and chips if you want! We usually get a selection of sandwiches. Chicken club is a favourite! All the food is well presented and lovely and fresh.

Great fish and chips, usually very busy however so usually have to queue. All fish cooked fresh and good selection of salads etc too

The fish was fresh, white and well cooked, the batter was crisp and yummy! You could choose large or small to me they were both large, chips and mushy peas were served with it with a slice of bread and butter, tea or coffee for £7.50 ........bargain.Will definitely return when in the area. The place was small and drafty if you sat near the door, but clean and friendly staff.

After walking up scafell pike myself partner and friends was recommended to frasers, it was a thirty minute drive from where we stayed but was well worth it, the price was very reasonable 12 pound for two cod chips and gravy, unfortunately the seating area was closed so we took them out, the gravy was put in a separate tub luckily as it was very very thick and tasted like oxtail soup, the chips and fish was fantastic so made up for the disappointing gravy, our friend had peas instead and said they was lush, I would definitely go with mushy peas if we ever went again.

We have eaten in many Fish and Chip shops, but this one is one of the best the Cod was lovely and white and fresh and there was plenty of chips. The service was good too!! Well done

Call in here quite a bit for lunch.It's always clean and warm inside.The staff are always friendly. Food was well presented. I had fish and chips. Very very nice.My partner had a baguette. Sausage and onion.We'll keep coming back.

Just been to fraser chippy the other day and ordered a meat and potato pie with peas and gray for the step son. The price was £4.30 for this. The size of the serving of pie has HALVED since the last time. the thing was swimming in gravy and the peas looked like they too had been watered down. The step son said it tasted fine, which I guess is something, but at what price. I could have gone across the road and got the same thing for over £1.50 cheaper....... In fact we did for the rest of the order and will be from now on. Come on guys, your food was the talk of the town, still is but not for the same reasons now sadly.

Got a decent size tray of chips, which were a little greasy but the fish was a little dry, feels like its been in the display for a while. couldn't finish the portion and it did feel like the fish was a little over cooked but it was a quiet Monday so maybe its been sat a while.
