The cocktails are amazing & 241 from about 5-9pm, amazing! I was at a party in the room upstairs and it was a perfect size and staff are lovely, shout out to the bouncer Mike ✌️

Visited Franklyns for the first time last night with my wife. Towards the end of the evening there was an incident between 2 groups of ladies. I believe a handbag had been stolen, perhaps some other items too. The security team were a disgrace. They handled the situation appallingly, they were abrupt, dismissive and awfully rude. We were shocked. If a member of my team behaved like that towards a paying customer who had been violated on my premises then they'd be furious. I strongly advice you look at your staff, we will not returning. My wife wants want to feel safe whilst out, i suspect the lady who had her bag stolen wont be returning either.

Overall we had a good night. The service was excellent and the drinks and cocktails were fab! So we left a good tip. My 2 criticisms - I like to eat off dinner plates, not narrow oval shaped plastic baskets that are as wide as your burger. Food was filling but pretty basic. Second criticism - it’s a busy, lively place which shows its a good venue, but for people who are dining, the music was getting louder and louder throughout the evening meaning more and more people were having to shout over each other! After our food we went across the road to drink and carry on our evening somewhere where we could hear each other speak.

Visited Franklyns for the first time today and had absolutely incredible Sunday lunch, 15 pounds, with dessert. Could not fault it. Food, Staff, ambiance, venue all 5 star. We will definitely be back.

Went in at 2pm.. Still not served almost half hr later... I could understand if they were busy but not 1 person in there. If you go take a hat, gloves, coat... its freezing in there.. Absolutely p.off I wasted a journey going to try it.. Should have took my daughter to the zoo.. Fumming

To start on a positive, the staff here are nice and service is good. The cocktails are also OK and there are good offers. Food, however is definitely best avoided. The most tasteless, dry macaroni cheese I have ever had. Nothing homemade here - all seems to be frozen and deep fried or microwaved. There are lots of much better options for food in the area.

I went for a meal last week with a friend and next day when I checked my receipt I realised we had been charged for someone else's drinks as well as our own. I phoned Franklin's and spoke to Paddy the manager and he couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, to be honest I was expecting the bums rush as I suppose I should have queried the amount on the night, but I was way off the mark. I went today and was refunded the cost of the drinks we hadn't had AND I was given a £20 voucher as way of any apology. AND food was tasty,filling, good value for money and the cocktails were very nice also. Will definitely be making a return visit

Cannot judge fairly as I was there for a family wake (funeral). The buffet served was very good with a good choice for all diets. They serve Guinness, that's all I needed to know. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Although when first arriving there was rush on the bar, service was very swift considering, after that service was immediate. Toilets were clean but upstairs, difficult for me, fortunately there's a disabled toilet downstairs.

We came in for a lovely 2 for 1 cocktail, both tasted great and looked amazing!!!, We decided to order the chicken platter and loved it!!!! Great service, worth a visit.

Came here for a family meal and a few drinks, cocktails were spot on, food was very good (new menu to the last time we visited) the atmosphere was really good considering around the Xmas period and staff very friendly and welcoming!

Had a good night with friends. Company and drinks were good. Food awful. Limited menu due to covid and lack of staff but what they served was awful. Mum goes to Iceland could do better.

Me and my family were served by a lad called Finn and he was very rude and unpleasant towards me and my family throughout the night. He kept spitting whilst speaking and it went over my son.

Visited on a Saturday night with friends, we have been here loads of times before covid and it was always lovely. The prices are so expensive for such low quality. Drinks are ok however the food isn’t as great as it used to, lower quality and we ordered the chicken platter and got given a big pot of stone cold jelly ‘gravy’ which put me off. This place isn’t the same as it used to be!

I came in to Franklyn’s for the 2 for 10 cocktails with my partner we didn’t book in for food but we were able to get some bar bites which were amazing the cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was just great will definitely be coming back

FOOD POISONING -Firstly the menu has not been updated so when we arrived and given a completely different and very limited menu we were disappointed. -Waited around 50 minutes for our food, music volume was overpowering it was difficult to sit and have a conversation shouting to each other for almost an hour whilst waiting. -Food arrived & we were given 3 small sauces to share between 4 people.. —WE ARE NOW CURRENTLY ALL VERY UNWELL! after eating at your restaurant we all felt sick within a few hours. I don’t need to explain what having food poisoning consists of, but don’t eat here unless you want to spend the next 48 hours in the bathroom.

First time back since no masks needed .. we were regulars here but the food was not quite as good as it used to be ,it was always excellent, no 1/2 price cocktails either which franklyns is known for , very disappointed , obviously under new management

We have been to Franklyns many times with friends. Last night we were served by a new member of staff Ollie, he was efficient, friendly and always busy doing something. I hope he continues to work there as we would be delighted to be served by him again. Thank you Ollie.

I called in for lunch last week with a friend, the menu was good with plenty of choice and the food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Reasonable prices. Nice friendly staff.

We went to celebrate my nieces 30th birthday, the atmosphere & cocktails were amazing aswell as the food, portion sizes are huge, I had the spare ribs and they were very succulent tasted amazing the meat fell straight off the bone deffinetly will pay another vist here all the staff very helpful and friendly.

We came in today for lunch with our daughter . Absolutely delicious , Lovely bar staff everyone was so friendly and helpful . The chef even came out to check we had enjoyed our meal . Defiantly recommend visiting

Decent bar and cocktail menu. I have no experience of the food but it does look good. Only point for me is I didn’t like the draught lager. Amstel or Biere Morretti

Only had a couple of drinks early evening as had a meal booked elsewhere, but pleasent atmosphere and friendly staff.

Please get the bar stools removed from the bar in the evening. Trying to get served by squeezing between the seats is a nightmare . Your bar makes it's money by serving people drinks so why make it difficult to get served, please remove the bar stools and maybe put extra bar staff on and your profits will rocket !

Great bar, great staff, great music and the best burgers in the North.

Visit this restaurant for an 18th birthday celebration. The staff are so friendly and helpful and it has a really good vibe. The manager George couldn’t do enough for us really helpful and friendly making sure we had the best time. Would definitely recommend this place.

Food lovely Staff very helpful Nice and clean

We often pop in here for drinks before/after a meal elsewhere, and for the occasional bar lunch (we tend to avoid weekends as this is a real squash and it takes ages to get served unless you sit at the bar). With each visit, we have been less and less impressed with pretty much everything. Our biggest gripe on our last three visits, including this one, is the smoke. We always like to sit downstairs towards the front (this is where most of the seating is and it is lighter) but, if the French windows are open (which they often are), then the smell of cigarettes blows in from smokers half out on the terrace/half inside. Not pleasant if you are eating. Not sure whether we have just been unlucky as no other reviewers have mentioned this. Another issue is with general cleanliness. The first table we tried was a bit tacky, and at the second one there was something white and gooey on one of the seats, despite the booth having been ‘cleaned’ a few minutes before. As usual, the music was a bit eclectic and quite loud, but there was no atmosphere. This bar is probably more suited to youngsters playing at being trendy. From now on, we will be giving this place a wide berth.

Me and my boyfriend of many years just visited tonight for a last minute dinner date as their blueberry amaretto sour cocktail is my favourite of all. The food tonight was excellent and as was our server Erica with her great personality and service. Many thanks to the other staff also. Including the wonderful chefs and bar staff.Thank you all for the food coma.

INCREDIBLE Unreal food!!! Our service was by a lovely lady called Erica. She has such a positive attitude and good recommendations. She was prompt with service of drinks and food despite how busy the restaurant was. Amazing food with amazing service. I can't say much more.

me and my boyfriend dined here last week and we did enjoy the food- even though i realise that we ordered too much food, after everything had came. the portion sizes are very big. we had potato skins to start, which were very tasty. we then had a steak sandwich and a chicken burger, which filled us up A LOT, but was tasty. the service was good. we thought that it was very well priced, we would return.

Visited here for the first time last night. Very busy with a great vibrant atmosphere. Only stayed for drinks which were great, cracking cocktails and reasonable prices. Food looked good, will be sure to give it a try next time.

Came here for birthday drinks, the cocktails are amazing with such a variety that they offer, especially with the 2for1 cocktail happy hour. Also the food in here is top notch. They also have great staff in here, we were served by George most of the night and always made sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for a chilled atmosphere this is the place to go.

A really fun place for weekend cocktails with friends. The bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the place has a really nice vibe.

Visited approx half nine on a Saturday night , first thing that hits you is the smell of food , unfortunately greasy burgers that lingered , got drinks went grabbed a table , no mention of reserved so surprised to be told after getting comfy it was and could we vacate it in five mins then as if by magic another member of staff came almost straight over and said the same thing only leave it right now , ok fair enough we will try upstairs only to find I'd walked past a poorly positioned sign explaining that was a private party , go back there's no seats now so we are standing by a girl who keeps rubbing her nose sticking her finger right up it maybe it was the smell of the food or maybe the White powder down her top , decided this isn't for us so left , I was thinking this review would be average but on looking back its poor really due to moving customers out of seats , try using a reserved sign on all reserved tables it's not hard !

Two for one cocktails before 7. Burgers good but they messed my order up and served me the wrong one, I had it so I didn’t have to wait another 40 mins, disappointed though. Hubby said chilli served with his burger was the best he’s ever tasted. Not served with fries they have to be ordered separate but burgers massive.

Lovely little find in Heswall. Really well presented restaurant with scrummy food offered in tapas style sized dishes. We arrived as a family of 4 with 2 kids at 8.30pm. We were made to feel welcome but it was noisy at that time of night (I'm a southerner so not used to people partying on a school night) But everyone was having a good time as what apeared to be a private fncion upstairs. Erica who served us was lovely, very friendly and the food arrived promptly and was very tasty. If visting again, I would go by day but had to visit in the evening as we had been to the zoo and were staying in the area.

As an over 50, I wasn't looking forward to eating here, but a friend was keen.

Booked a table glad we did. A variety of burgers - all 6 of us happy with our choices coupled with 241 cocktails makes for a fun night out.

Visited on a Thursday night and whilst this is primarily a bar, the food is very good. The hanging kebab was lovely, the prawns were cooked perfectly. Would be a nice place to go for drinks accompanied with a few snacks and nibbles. Only slight complaint is the staff were a bit slow.

Great place for a night out. I was staying at my mates house in Heswel and this turned into our local. The Gin and Tonic were amazing with loads of fresh lime. There is an upstairs bar too with a balcony, great for a hot summers night and heaters for when it's cold too!
