Fig Tree Cafe in Wirral

This is a hidden gem. Lovely food, friendly staff and very popular. I had to have some tyres changed at ATS up the road and spent a very pleasant hour here.

Cheapest ingredients, toast was the Cheapest bread , rock hard yolk on the egg, nice staff but really need to up you cooking game.. I paid full price so as not to offend but rubbish breakfast to be honest.. Tasty bites on laird street is the 1 for a breakfast. I'll never eat here again . Disgusting

Closed even though stated it was open on website, there was a women inside sitting at the back of cafe, door was locked didn't respond! This is the 2nd time this has happened so won't be going again.

They put alot off effort in their costumer service. Staff go above and beyond to ensure everything is just how you like it nothingvwas to muchbtrouble for our lovely server. The food is exceptional and amazing value for money. Throughly enjoyed my visit to the fig tree cafe and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

Stopped off for lunch here when we got a flat tyre on the way to Liverpool. They do an offer in the week. 2 courses for £8.95. We had the scampi and chips, followed by cake and ice cream. Lovely service and food excellent value for money.

Exactly what it says on the tin! Great food, lovely service very quiet when I went and I would defo go again. Very good value and very flexible - I didn’t want a tomato so they gave me extra beans free of charge. A little small inside so I imagine on a weekend it gets busy. Also limited options on the menu but such a good full English - I would defo recommend! Music was also at a really nice volume and great choice of radio station!

I’ve been in the ‘Fig Tree’ a few times and it’s ok. I’m local and want to support independent local business. I went in this morning, it was busy, I ordered scrambled egg on toast. Twenty minutes later out it came, over cooked scrambled egg hiding a burnt piece of toast. I was with a friend who has dementia so didn’t want to complain. I left most of my food and as I was paying mentioned the toast was burnt, the response? “I’ll let the kitchen know”. I’d like you to know that I won’t return.

I came here while waiting for my new tyres to be fitted, a short walk away at ATS , the cafe is conveniently situated on the corner of a junction with good access, I ordered a mega breakfast and wow what a breakfast, gorgeous sausages, fluffy scrambled eggs , well cooked mushrooms and piping hot, the cafe is tastefully decorated and the staff are extremely friendly, couldn't fault the place and will definitely return. (Not sure if the person below is reviewing the same restaurant 🤔)

Delicious English breakfast. Warm plates, speedy service, reasonably priced, pleasant surroundings. Toilets were a bit lacking in that the dryer didn't work and the loo was bit in need of a loo brush 😬 not that I used it, hence the lack of a star.

Small cafe in Pensby. Food freshly prepared & cooked. All very lovely. Have always felt welcomed when i have been here. Friendly staff. recommend.

Definitely would not recommend this cafe ,they appear to use from taste and smell very cheap products ,the coffee tastes dreadful ,you get that really cheap smell before you even taste it ,the same as the spread used on the toast . To top it all a black hair was on the plate of the breakfast ,with no apology from the staff member who was informed about it ,just I won't charge for that breakfast ,as if it would have been paid for anyway

We were greeted by warm friendly staff.lovely hot breakfast.clean surrounding and a great ambience.my only Negative comment would be,perhaps some cushions on chairs.bit hard on the old posterior.definately will visit again.

The Americano coffee was terrible and when mentioned the waitress just smiled. Toilet facilities very basic. Won’t be going again.

We visited here as its our local cafe having not been to one for over a year due to the pandemic. The customer service, food and price were all excellent. Seriously could not fault anything. I searched this place on Google and noticed one of the top results was someone ranting because of their sense of entitlement. Seriously? A 1 star because you think you're a food critic? This place is great

My sisters and I visited with our Mum , as it was the first time we have been able to take her out from her care home in over 12 months. The staff, Jen and Jan, were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to ensure that we had a good visit with Mum in her wheelchair. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and many pots of tea!!! We will certainly return in the near future .

Thank you to the staff at Fig Tree for making our large breakfast order yesterday 27.11.2020 for all staff members at the Covid Test Centre - Heswall Library, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we thank you for a great service all meals ready upon collection, it was a pleasure to support a local business too

Came here for years and never had a problem until recently. I was served a cold undercooked breakfast by a very rude member of staff. I think her name is "Karen" when asked why my bacon was still oinking and my eggs were still translucent I was spoken to in a way I am not accustomed too. I have never been spoken to like that in all my life and the cafe should be very ashamed of itself as it once was my first choice and now is my last. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Best cafe on the wirral hands down!! 🙂🙂 the prices are so good and its amazing quality food like really tasty. Put it this way my grandad comes all the way from brombrough just for the fig tree it's that good. The cafe is always clean and the staff are so friendly if you haven't eaten there yet you MUST try it I swear you won't regret it and I bet it will become your fave too. Amazing cafe really is 🙂🙂

It is best food and staff r very helpfull seving cooked breakfast but also caters for vegatarians and have many healthy options too a very comprehensive choice l give them 5 stars eaten there for over 3 years no complaints

Lovely cosy place, neat and clean. Freshly cooked food, quick service and reasonably priced. Menu is not extensive but sometimes that is a good thing. Free parking nearby. Worth a visit and support a local business.

I’d heard about the Fig Tree from family members so thought I’d give it a try. Had a great breakfast all freshly cooked and decent portions. The staff weren’t over chatty but at least the food made up for that.

Having tried all the cafes in the area I can safely say this is the worst by far, got 7 sandwiches to takeaway for the lads at work the bread was stale, filling tasteless and the hot chocolates tasted like a mild chemical cleaner. Avoid at all costs. Shockingly bad and fuming that I wasted £30 there

Just popped in whilst waiting on a nearby shop to open and glad we did. Very pleasant staff, lovely cake and coffee and very welcoming to our French Bulldog, even cooking him a free sausage and providing a bowl of water without us asking. Thank you.

Nice little place with a good selection, if you want an all day breakfast or a cuppa and a cake its definitely worth stopping by. The service is good and always friendly.

I visited fig tree once a week with 2 friends and have a catch up.The staff who normally serve us is amazing I believe her name is jan and the young blonde lady who works house of front. Them two are so polite and such a good service I went in Monday 18th of March 2019 the girl who works behind with black hair her attuide is terrible and without being nasty she carnt cook and her whole posture isn't right for that type of job unfortunately I wont be returning and neither will my friends such a lovely friendly cafe with some great staff and she has let it down

Local cafe in Pensby. Does breakfasts, lunches and Sunday roasts. They also offer filter coffees and speciality coffees. It's not bad.

Lovely little coffee shop, the English breakfasts are awesome and unlike other places it's actually hot 😁. Well worth a visit.

Had all day breakfast & coffe this morning. Food very nicely cooked. Place looks nice and clean. Very reasonable price. Lady serving/cooking seemed friendly & polite. Would be happy to visit again.

Was recommended to go here by ATS whilst having my car's tyres changed. It was a lovely, clean and welcoming cafe with radio and television available. The menu selection was varied and I had a mega breakfast which was rather large with a latte. The prices were very much value for money.The food arrived promptly and was lovely, hot and cooked very nicely. The staff were warm, friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for a lovely first visit which I hope to return soon.

Visited this lovely cafe for the first time today. Everyone was very friendly and our delicious breakfasts were served quickly and with a smile. Highly recommended.

we called in here yesterday after visiting the florist a few doors away, all 4 of us enjoyed our meals, nice friendly place, food was nice, chips served in a small frying basket, nice touch indeed, would go again if I was in the area, make sure you take cash because they have no card machine, but this is no big deal because at the other end of the row of shops there is a Co Op with a free cash machine, all in all a nice little place, give it a try

Often get toasted sandwiches from here on a Saturday morning. Never had a problem, the food is nice and the service is good. Recommended.

Just stopped here for a coffee and chat and sat outside on their small terrace which is on a main road. The coffee was good and we were surprised by the low cost charged. This cafe also delivers breakfast locally, as well as roast meals. Pleasant waitress

Had meals in at the Fig Tree previously and they've been absolutely fine and particularly good value. Had to say about the Sunday Lunch we had delivered yesterday - brilliant! Everything you could want, good portions - even for me! - and fanTASTic value, delivered piping hot to your door - with a smile from Jenny :-) BIG Thanks. Forgot to say, this was a present for my wife to save her cooking one Sunday. Greatly appreciated, as you can imagine. (Good for getting a few 'brownie points' fellas!)

I have started going to the Fig Tree recently for breakfast and Inhave to say the place is wonderful. Great food and friendly acommodating staff . There is nothing these people won't do to see that your needs are catered for. The food is superb and as far as breakfast is concerned it is probably the best breakfast on the Wirral and I have tried many cafes. The prices are very reasonable and provide excellent value for money. I would be happy to recommend The Fig Tree to anyone but really the breakfasts are out of this world

My husband myself and my daughter went for breakfast on Christmas Eve as we always do as it is my husbands Birthday. When we walked in a man was sitting at a table for six and the very young waitress asked if she could move his table over so we could have a table for four. We sat down at the table which wasn't clean and waited for about 10 minutes and had still not been asked what our order was. A regular came in and the waitress went straight to him with a pot of tea. I asked if we could order and also asked why the man had been given a pot of tea when we hadn't been asked for our order. The waitress said she hadn't seen us and I pointed out that she had because she has moved a table for us. She then took our order grudgingly. Two breakfasts were brought out for my husband and daughter and we were asked if we wanted any sauce to which I replied brown please and the girl red and handed me red sauce. The woman on the next table who had come in after us and was actually eating her food gave me the sauce from her table. At this point we had still not received our cutlery and our table had not been cleaned. The older waitress started shouting come on girls get some cutlery out now! My breakfast arrived and it was completely wrong so I said this is wrong to which the older waitress shouted well that was what was on the chitty! I too her the chitty was wrong and the service was awful. She yelled across the café excuse me madam but we are very busy. She then screamed punched the counter and kicked a cupboard. We got up then and said we were leaving. Another waitress came over and said we hadn't paid to which I said my husband had one coffee and we wouldn't be paying. It was a very embarrassing experience and looking at the earlier reviews it seems I haven't been the only person to receive this horrendously poor customer service.

Absolutely awful. The staff have not been trained at all.... Had to prompt the waitress for our drinks.....And cutlery......And sauce. Terrible service.....avoid.

Went in there with a few friends and the waitress looked like she hated every second. Sever was very rude and passive aggressive. Would not recommend.
