Frankie & Benny's in Leicester

A bit of an odd review to write, as the majority of the issues presented could not have been prevented by the staff working today. We ordered a couple of Calzone pizzas and some fries, nothing too crazy. The pizzas were delivered quickly, and were of good quality - my main issue was one of personal preference. I cannot stand garlic butter (not an allergy, just me being not liking garlic butter), and they were delivered absolutely swimming in the stuff. This wasn't mentioned on the menu, and if it had been I would have asked for adjustements to be made, or ordered something else. I cannot criticize the team working as they have presented the food to spec, it's that the menu wasn't clear about what you get. In addition, we also had to remind the service team about the fries, as they had been forgotten. Our server was OK and was apologetic about the food (I did say it wasn't hers or the teams fault, just me being picky), but the member of staff that took our payment didn't seem to care, even though we were leaving with a full plate of food left. I also wasn't overly keen about the 'pushy' nature of tipping - there didn't seem to be a way to not pay a tip (the staff, whilst OK, did nothing extra to warrant being tipped). You are presented the card machine with option to tip 5, 10, 15 or 20%, but seemingly no way to not pay. This leaves you with the only option to ask the server how to not pay a tip, and you might as well just say to them "You guys aren't particularly good at the job" In all, not a great visit, but not entirely the fault of the venue, less picky diners will probably have a better experience (the food would have gotten 4/5 stars if the menu communication was better).

It was my daughter's Birthday and she asked to go and have lunch at Frankie and Bennys. Unfortunately we waited over 30min for our food. When we asked where are food was the staff were very unfriendly and rude. No one came to apologise or sort our problem out. My daughter was very upset so we were forced to leave. We will not be going back.

Amazing & fast service. Angelika our server did an amazing job accommodating 7 of us while our previous booking at other place didn’t work out best. We will definitely consider booking a party for Christmas as she suggested. Thank you :)

We came this evening to celebrate my boyfriend’s 21st birthday, had such an incredible time, our serve Angel was so attentive, helpful and all round an amazing service! We even had Stevie Wonder’s happy birthday played as they brought his dessert out, amazing food and would definitely recommend to anyone!! Thank you Angel will definitely be back soon

Me and my partner love this place. We always go for meals out here- it’s like our lil date place. The steaks are always perfectly cooked and all food is delicious! The servers are so accommodating and we always tip for their outstanding service!

Ordered the BBQ chicken. Looks like they took the chicken breast and halved it. Fries was little with much of the plate space taken by the coleslaw ceramic green/white tub. Onion rings fine - small. Not worth £17.50. The chkn burger halloumi was better on both quality and quantity. Service was good. Had a 40% off mains offer which made it worth the quantity.

Took my Grandsons (16 and 12 yrs) for a meal on Saturday 7th September to Frankie & Benny’s Highcross Centre and we were served by a lovely lady called Mel who was so helpful and friendly. The food was very good and overall the experience was well worth the visit.

Taylor jade was our server, she was VERY pleasant and courteous. The food was delicious and nothing to complain about except the wife would of liked to order of the children’s menu due to a health condition but unfortunately we were told head office don’t allow this, which is pretty poor service considering we could of walked out and eaten elsewhere. Come on F&B look into this please.

came in today with my friends for my friends bday and the server her name was angelika she was lovely great service from her and very helpful and the food was nice but the chefs where very rude to the floor staff and as we was sat at the table waiting to pay we could hear the chef shouting at a member of the floor staff in front of the customers just thought it was rude as we don’t want to hear that and not very nice for the floor staff as it’s embarrassing for them and not fair

Staff were outstanding. Pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Food is Frankie and bennys, good but not outstanding. Worth the visit.

I recently visited Frankie & Benny’s in Highcross, Leicester, and it was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. The food was poor at best, starting with the garlic bread, which was undercooked, greasy, and unpleasant. We tried to raise our concerns after we’d eaten, as no one checked in on us during the starter, only to be told by the manager that they "must have been good enough for us to eat." The service was painfully slow—15 minutes just for drinks, 45 minutes for two garlic breads, and another hour for mains. To make matters worse, the kids' meals were missing the carrot and cucumber sticks mentioned as being part of the kids' meal on the menu. The Arrabbiata ordered by a member of our party was completely bland and lacked any spice, and when we complained, the only solution offered was to bring over some chilli flakes. The manager was rude and dismissive, brushing off our concerns and claiming the service was "fast for his restaurant." This was laughable, as we’ve been to other Frankie & Benny’s chains that took half the time and still apologised for any delays. To top it all off, when our desserts arrived, we were handed the bill before we’d even finished eating, and they failed to properly apply the offer, which had been handled differently at another location. Overall, the food was poor, the service even worse, and the manager’s attitude left a terrible taste in our mouths. Avoid this restaurant at all costs!

Fantastic service. Our server, Angel, was alone for majority of the time we were there but she was very attentive and made sure all of the party were tended to and happy.

Angel served us in Leicester Highcross and was super kind and helpful!

My partner and I visited this restaurant around two weeks ago for his birthday meal, just two of us. We were waited on by a lovely lady named Angelika (I believe; if I’m wrong I extend sincere apologies for the error). She was so very attentive the whole two hours we were there for. We had reserved our table a few days in advance, and I’d requested in the notes to be seated at a table either in the corner, against a wall, or in a booth out of the way — as both my partner and I suffer severe anxiety around people. I also mentioned in the notes that it was my partner’s birthday that we were celebrating. When we arrived, she greeted us pleasantly and showed us to the most perfect table in the restaurant — not only in the corner, but against a wall AND in a booth as requested. She told us she had chosen the table herself, but if we wanted to move she would accommodate no problem. She held friendly conversation with us which put us at ease (we are both autistic, but I in particular get very anxious talking to strangers). She then gave us enough time to decide on drinks (I am very indecisive and struggle with making even simple decisions under pressure) and she was more than happy to stand and wait by the table patiently while I chose what I wanted. Most waiters I’ve encountered in the past either give off body language to suggest their impatience, or walk away from the table altogether — but she made me feel like a human being, which is something I rarely find. Once we had ordered, drinks came in a reasonable timeframe. I must add that we went on a quiet Tuesday evening, around 7:30PM, so if anybody wants quick service then that’s a good time to go. Food came out hot and fresh, and was beautiful. When we asked for more marinara sauce, Angelika accommodated with no issue. I did find a hair in my food, which would usually knock my score down by a star — however, all the staff were extremely apologetic, and what made it all-the-more humorous was the fact nobody in the room had hair that matched the strand in the food. We are still trying to figure that one out two weeks later. Also, by way of apology, we were given a discount of £10 from our bill for the inconvenience — something we didn’t expect nor ask for, as we had expressed our understanding at the time, that mistakes and accidents happen. With dessert, Angelika sweetly put a candle in my partner’s dessert, and changed the music in the restaurant to Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder and presented the cheesecake to my partner. My partner was a good sport about this and thoroughly enjoyed this personal added touch; and it gave me a good laugh and a video to remember for years to come. Angelika went above and beyond for our visit, and we are so grateful for the experience she provided us with. Even with the hair in the food, it didn’t deter us from visiting again in future, as it was dealt with professionally and lightheartedly. The birthday boy LOVED the entire meal, and that’s the main outcome I wanted. Thank you so much to all the staff at Frankie and Benny’s — particularly Angelika. We will definitely be back at some stage!

This chain of restaurants is not what it used to be. The menu is ok, but it doesn't inspire you to return. I guess this is reflected in the fact that we visited on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was less than half full. However, the service we received was excellent.

I visited Frankie and Benny’s on a bank holiday and was served by the lovely Angelica. She was really friendly and welcoming and offered us an amazing service.

Not usually one to complain but had a very bad experience here today, decided to dine here as our 5 year old daughter was hungry after a day out shopping. As soon we walked in the waitress looked us up and down, very cold greeting, wouldn’t have hurt her to crack a smile, food came before drinks, very average food, no check backs, would not return

We went to eat relatively late into the evening but they were great and accommodated 6 of us. A big thanks to Angel who was our server for the evening, she was really friendly and accommodating!
