Emre Smokehouse & Grill in Leicester

Fui aquí anoche por el cumpleaños de mi nieto. La cena más agradable, plato de carne era muy bueno y pequeños platos de patatas fritas cargadas y mozzarella eran excelentes. Es muy atmosférico y el servicio era bueno y amable. Solo pequeñas quejicas, los cócteles son caros y los platos necesitan calentamiento o la comida se enfría demasiado rápido! En general, recomendaría encarecidamente, gracias. 👌

Raj was an absolute boss, food was lovely, not too busy and the atmosphere was very nice

RUDE/UNPLEASANT Arrived at 7:15 ordered by 7:30 received the food by 9:30 was cold and had to be sent back due to not being what I ordered service was slow and rude never asked if the food was okay and when told they had missed items I was told I never asked for them this has to be the worst place I have ever been in Leicester and should be ashamed of how they handled customer service and as for the management they need to be sacked this was my little sister birthday meal and was left in tears I will never recommend or come back to this establishment

Waited 20minutes for a booked table.

Absolutely amazing and fully halal. No alcohol sold on site. Every item was delicious and the food cane very quickly. The space is beautiful and the service was incredible, Mohammed and Mandeep were so lovely!!!!

First time I came it was horrendous. I then came about 3 months ago and I was very impressed. Although it’s not the cheapest and certainly not value for money, it was something different and I enjoyed it. I visited today, I called and booked a table for my family. On arrival I was advised that the heating had blown and some seats were not available. I really wish I walked out then as it was freezing in there. I ordered a T bone medium to well. It was served alive. Not even rare, not even raw, it was still breathing (see pics). I complained and waiters said they’re sending someone but no one came. I ate what I could as it went cold and had diarrhoea the next day with a vengeance.

Really amazing atmosphere inside the restaurant. Really nice decor and really peaceful too. Service is excellent as well and you will have a good time. The starters were definitely a big highlight. The mozzarella cubes were really good, and the prawns too. Mains were good as well but nothing stood out in particular. Steaks were cooked decently enough and were enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend the tiger shrimp unless you really enjoy it. One thing that could definitely be worked on are the mocktails. Alot of potential to put some research in and make them much better and higher quality. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

En primer lugar no hay aparcamiento en el lugar, así que es una calle concurrida y residencial. Buena suerte encontrando un lugar. Tuvimos que subir y bajar un par de veces para encontrar algún lugar. En segundo lugar, al acercarse a la entrada, un scooter deliveryoo a punto de tirar a mi hijo al piso al retroceder para salir del lugar sin mirar a dónde iba. Así que ese tipo de escenario. A la entrada nos recibieron y nos dieron un asiento en los sofás mientras esperamos en nuestra mesa para estar listos. Esto fue bastante agradable. Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa después de unos minutos y nos sentamos más cerca de la puerta, así que tuvimos el frío ampollas sobre nosotros cada vez que la puerta se abrió y cerró (- 1 grado fuera) Estaba tan frío durante todo el tiempo que estaba allí y casi me senté en mi abrigo, pero en su lugar simplemente soldé. De todos modos la comida finalmente salió después de 1 hora 15 minutos de espera. Éramos una familia de cuatro y habíamos pedido por adelantado una cena dominical compartida para dos y luego dos hijos pedidos separados cuando estábamos allí, así que no es como si fuéramos un grupo grande. Cuando llegó la comida, las comidas de los chicos estaban bien y calientes, pero nuestra cena del domingo era una historia completamente diferente. Así que nos dieron platos helados para poner nuestra comida en el plato compartido para que cualquier cosa que pusieras allí se enfriara casi instantáneamente. El pudín Yorkshire estaba helado, la salsa era una olla pequeña, pero también fría, las patatas eran mediocres, la carne estaba bien. Las zanahorias estaban muy bien, al igual que la cremosa espinaca de champiñón. £ 65 aunque para la cena del domingo esperábamos que fuera mejor. A nuestros hijos les quitaron los platos en cuanto terminaron de comer así que no esperes a que terminemos los nuestros o a que su barriga se asiente en caso de que quisieran meterse con algo que dejaron. Así que eso fue raro y no lo había experimentado antes. Pedimos postres. El domingo compartido era un crumble de manzana que estaba frío como piedra, así que les pedimos que lo calentaran por nosotros, tiempo en el que las natillas acompañantes se enfriaron y todos estábamos seguros de que el hombre preguntó si nos gustaría que calentara eso por nosotros, de lo que dijimos que sí por favor, pero luego inmediatamente vertió las natillas frías sobre el crumble ahora caliente. Todos estábamos desconcertados, pero mi compañero lo mezcló todo. Se supone que era un compartidor, pero solo era suficiente para él. No tenía sentido que lo tuviéramos. Se habían quedado sin domos de chocolate que mi hijo quería así que tenía algo más. Toda la noche fue una absoluta decepción de todas estas pequeñas cosas que solo seguían sumando, así que pagamos y salimos de allí. La decoración era agradable y las zanahorias. Eso es lo que me llevo. Tampoco cenar el domingo, comer algo más. Oh, yo quería la piña a la parrilla de postre, pero el chico dijo que será una espera de 20 minutos, ya que se hace fresco en el lugar - básicamente me aplazó tener que esperar tanto tiempo y también me hizo cuestionar todo el “hecho fresco en el lugar” ... como no es todo no? Yeh no recomiendo. Es una pena que tenga tanto potencial.

Siempre ve a mi sitio. Tiene que ser el mejor de Leicester. La decoración y el personal siempre en su punto. La comida tiene que ser la mejor con grandes sabores.

Really nice restaurant, lovely food, if a little pricey. Good on-street parking and helpful staff. It was nice but a little bit cold in there. I would go again but in the summer!

Just visited this place today and I have nothing bad to say about it From the staff to the food and also decor everything was amazing. The service was spot on from the minute we walked in. The staff were friendly and very attentive. We ordered the tomahawk steak which was incredible (10/10) and also the Sansebastian cheese cake, arguably the best one in the UK. Every detail, from the presentation of the food to the seamless service, was impeccable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to a fantastic meal, this restaurant will exceed your expectations. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I will be back I would also like to Thank Muhammed for his service

Friendly service good recommendations

The food was good, service was amazing! Prices were very high which is reasonable however multiple times i witnessed the manager/s penalizing the staff for no apparent reason. A restaurant experience is better when staff shows genuine smiles and happiness however, whenever they spoke or smiled the tall lady in the head peice would glare at them or tell them off. She was very bossy and appeared very rude. This upset me and my wife as we have been to this restaurant three times now and we always overhear this nonsense. Ontop of that my tip for my server was not taken and put into a jar instead ? Why is this? Probably because the greedy managers want more of our money. Do not go and give this place your money when the managers clearly do not respect their staff and probably underpay them while charging us service charges which probably is taken by their greedy selves. Do not go here unless you are willing to pay extortionate prices !

We ordered the dynamite shrimps and lamb chops for Starters which were really nice; It was not too hard nor dry. For Mains we had grilled chicken burger and miso glaze ribeye which again were juicy and nice. The venue is spacious and has elegant decor. The staff were kind. 10/10 recommend this restaurant.

The food was really good, I had the lamb chops and the taste was amazing, the only thing that like it down is that it wasn’t tender but, besides that everything was good, from the mash potatoes, chips, the drink, and out waiter Anya, she was amazing, very welcoming, she had the best recommendation, she checked in on us multiple times as well as Hamza, he checked on us a few times too. The service was quick, maybe the quickest I’ve had despite them being so busy It was an amazing experience and birthday. Will defo be back!

No tendría prisa por ir de nuevo y no lo recomendaría a otros. La comida era muy agradable y salió a su debido tiempo y el ambiente era encantador. Para una iglesia es de esperar que esté un poco fría, pero está bien calentada y la decoración crea un ambiente cálido y acogedor. La caída que arruina toda la experiencia se reduce al servicio. Aunque durante parte de la noche nos atendió una señora encantadora y a pesar de que lo compartió comenzar su primer turno ella fue genial. Pero durante el resto de la noche nos atendió un caballero sexista que fue increíblemente grosero. Solo saludó a mi BF en la puerta y me ignoró cuando tenía los detalles de la reserva. En la mesa solo hablaba con mi jefe y me sentía que ni siquiera estaba allí. Nos hizo sentir muy incómodos a los dos y es necesario abordarlo.

La comida era muy buena, pero el servicio era muy pobre. Fuimos como un grupo de alrededor de 25 personas. Pedimos por adelantado, los entrantes fueron todos primero, pero no había señales de ningún plato o cubierto. Pedimos agua embotellada pero no había signos de tazas. Cuando llegaron nuestros cubiertos y platos la comida estaba fría. Siento que los camareros necesitan estar mejor entrenados un poco más y asegurarse de que los cubiertos y platos y tazas estén allí antes de que llegue la comida.

The food was very expensive for the amount of food you get. The chips were not fresh at all. It took a long time to bring the food, about 40 minutes. When they brought the bill, I saw that there were 3 items on my bill that I had not ordered at all, which was about 38 pounds extra. When paying the bill, the waiter charged me again for another 5 pounds extra, which I understood and when I asked why, she said ,it was for the service charge. it was written on the menu, groups of more than 10 people or more have to pay a service charge and in total it is 10% extra on the total amount. I started to challenge them and they said they could not refund the extra money because the store system does not allow it and when I said to refund in cash, they said we did not have enough money in the cash register. Finally, after waiting for 20 minutes to get the money, the person who introduced himself as the manager gave me the extra money in complete rudeness and disrespect. Not a good restaurant at all and I do not recommend it at all. I recommend to everyone who has been to this restaurant to check their receipts carefully because they have definitely been overcharged. We were a group of 6 and none of us were satisfied with the restaurant service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME IN THIS RESTAURANT.

A Horrible Experience I Never Want to Repeat This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food quality was atrocious—felt like it was sitting there for days. The staff’s attitude was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. As for the service, it was a complete disaster; even getting a glass of water took multiple requests. The atmosphere was no better—loud, chaotic, and absolutely filthy. Save your time, money, and sanity—avoid this place at all costs!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was shockingly bad—staff were rude, unhelpful, and acted like they couldn’t care less. It took forever to get our food, and when it finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. To top it all off, the bill was outrageously overpriced for what we received. I felt completely ripped off. When I questioned the charges, the staff was dismissive and didn’t bother to explain anything. Avoid this place at all costs—it’s not worth your time, money, or frustration.

This place is absolutely stunning! It seems like it might be a converted church, and I love how they’ve preserved the original architecture while blending it seamlessly with modern decor. The atmosphere is truly unique. Now, onto the food—absolutely epic. I’m not usually a big steak eater, but the T-bone was cooked to perfection, and the meat practically melted in my mouth. The lamb chops were a solid 10/10—full of flavour and perfectly tender. The bao buns were just as impressive, with soft, fresh buns and chicken drenched in hot sauce that was simply divine. The customer service was excellent, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

We went along yesterday for the Sunday roast. The place is very pretty and the staff are super pleasant. They do everything in their power to make your meal rememberable. However, the roast was very disappointing. Lacked flavour and the portions were tiny. The nicest thing on the whole platter was the chicken. For £65 for 2 of us, it’s overpriced with not much to deliver.

Absolutely loved my experience at Emre in Leicester for my Birthday! The food was incredible. The atmosphere was fantastic too - a really beautiful and inviting space. What really stood out was how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was, and the fact that it was a churches previously! it adds to the whole dining experience. And to top it off, the service was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend Emre to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a wonderful setting! Beautiful ambiance created in an old church. Temperature was nicely maintained in this huge place (we went on an icy night), though toilets were freezing! Service was ok as the food was delayed. Long wait for the mains after finishing the starters. Cocktails and desserts were really good. Food was tasty, but I have given 4 stars as there could be more vegetarian options. Overall, a cute place to visit.

28th November 2024 Clearly this place has made their money, and simply do not care anymore. Ordered the Cote de bouef Medium Rare It came very rare. Mentioned this to the staff, who told the manager, and nothing was done. The smoked chicken wasn't smoked. It was oven chicken. Below is my original 5 star review, which is now 3 star: Had a great night here with the family! We ordered: Emre Salad, which had sirloin strips Smokehouse Platter, which had beef ribs, smoked chicken, and smoked brisket Fillet steak with buttered veg Rib-eye with mash Cheesecake Kunafe The decor is stunning, and genuinely impressive. The Emre salad was delicious, but the only downside was the dressing tasted a little too much like salad cream for my liking. My medium-rare rib-eye was perfectly cooked, and my wife ordered a medium fillet which was slightly under (it happens). The smokehouse platter was lush. Brisket did not require teeth to eat, and was moist and juicy. The ribs were equally tender, but still had enough on them to be ribs. Smokehouse chicken tasted like a lemon salt and pepper rub, which I also enjoyed. The fries on the platter were fluffy, crispy, and very well seasoned. Kunafe was delicious, wasn't overdone with syrup, and the ice cream was of a decent quality. We turned up without a reservation, and thankfully a table didn't show up so we were seated within 10 minutes. A lot of the bad reviews seem to be due to teething issues, and it's understandable as this isn't a small restaurant. We did need to remind them a few times about the cheesecake, and some of the sides need a little work (Buttered veg can be improved by using fresh, not frozen veg, the mash was good, but not amazing and the coleslaw was too sweet), but aside from that, I think these issues will be ironed out in time, and thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I use the word experience, because that's what it was. The meat is the star of the show, and if you actually understand beef - You'll know this is probably the best (halal) place in Leicester. Highly recommend you try this place.

I had dinner with friends, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the charred lamb chops and chicken bao, both of which were delicious. The Blues mocktail was refreshing, and the portion sizes were great for the price. The service was excellent—the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The heating circulation wasn’t ideal, possibly because we were seated in the corner, but it was still manageable. However, there was no heating in the washroom, and it was freezing cold.

If you are a food lover and want to spend quality time. To be honest, you are in the right place.

Great food and service in a beautiful building.

Starters: 6/10 Dynamite Prawns were very nice. The Beef Sushi was not anything amazing but not too bad. Main: 3/10 Cote De Boeuf was presented well and before serving the waiter put on quite the display with the fire and dry ice. Once served I noticed that the steak was very undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked Medium, what I got was more like Rare. I sent the steak back to be cooked further and it comes back well done and too dry. At this point it had ruined my appetite and I asked for the bill and left shortly after paying it. Service: 2/10 No one really came over once we were seated. We were looking around so we can order and in the end I had to flag someone down. Service was also very slow, even tho we arrived when it wasn’t too busy

My 2nd visit here and this time with guests from the food capital of the world, Istanbul. We were looking for a place which offers great food and ambience in equal measure. However, this time round everything exceeded our expectations. The food and service could not be faulted. Everyone who tended to our table was exceptional but the 2 that stood out were Zachariah and Muhammad (I believe it was his 1st shift at the restaurant). I would recommend the briskt, miso steak and short ribs. We will be back soon with even more guests!

Firstly, the service was absolutely abismal. The waiter was rushing us to order as the kitchen was closing soon. Next, the food was mid. It was average, emre burger is extremely greasy, dripping with oil. Waiter took away my date's plate when I hadn't finished eating, this is extremely rude. In addition, he decided to take away our drinks that we hadn't finished. So disappointed, I don't recommend. REFUND THE PPL DEM

Honestly, can’t fault them. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The service is a little slow (given that I had to ask about the same thing three times) but Anya as our main server, was the very best. Her hospitality is amazing. If I had to rate her hospitality alone I’d say it’s 5 stars.

Was not aware that Steak and Lounge is closed on a Tuesday so was quite disappointed that won't get a good steak today. Then thought let's try out a place I've not been to. So we went to Emre steakhouse. Not having any expectations we ordered the Fillet Steak, and boy how good was the steak. Cooked to perfection and tasted great. Sides was chips and peppercorn sauce. The chips could be better but peppercorn sauce was one of the best I've had. For dessert we had the san Sebastian cheesecake and that was so fresh, soft and delicious. Reminded me of Istanbul. Definitely the best I've had in the UK. Overall a great experience. The place is pricey but dont mind paying for quality food. Service was really good and the place is spacious and elegant.

Beautiful surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff. It is quite difficult to find decent smoked brisket/ribs. The meat here was very moist and fall off the bone tender, by far the best halal smokehouse I have visited. Very much look forward to going back again!

Decor and atmosphere are flawless. Really elegant, ambient, and warm atmosphere. Seating, cutlery, glassware etc. were good quality. Staff were generally really warm and welcoming, although, as a nit pick, no one asked how our food was, and no one saw us out as we headed out. As for the food, unfortunately, it just didn't cut it for me. Add to that the price tag, I really expected to have some really good food. The porterhouse steak I ordered was dehydrated, an adjective which simply should not go in the same sentence in which steak is mentioned. The chips were OK. For a steak meal which is supposed to be premium accompanied by a premium price tag of £42, I really expected the chips to at least be steak cut chips, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The dynamite shrimp was good, exactly as I expected. A slightly smaller portion, but the quality and taste made up for that. Mocktail was again, something I expected to be to at least a decent standard. Unfortunately, the passion mocktail consisted largely of cheap supermarket-tasting mango/tropical juice. Finally the baklava for dessert was not fresh. It was super soggy. For around £8, I was expecting it to at least not be soggy.

The experience was just okay. Not the best. Our waitress wasn’t friendly but I didn’t mind. We ordered items from their small plates. The dishes arrived to our table cold / lukewarm. Didn’t enjoy the beef sushi because it was cold. We were also informed they don’t do a fire show anymore for the beef sushi which was a disappointment as we were looking forward to it. The mock-tails looked great but tasted like something you’d get from the supermarket. But they looked great. We enjoyed the lamb chops though. They were tasty. I told the waitress it was my birthday but she didn’t seem interested. I would recommend coming here for a quick meal but I’d go somewhere else for a birthday dinner. Overall 3/5 because of the interior and building

The fillet steak with chimmicurri was to die for. The service all round is attentive had a slight issue with the burger which management dealt with. Didn’t take anything away from our lovely evening. The chocolate dome pudding was 10/10 and I do not like desserts. Finished off with a Turkish tea. Perfect. Thanks for a great evening we will definitely be back
