Frankie and Bennies in Northampton

Went today and the food was awful. The food was undercooked or cold, the manager was rude and very dismissive , and rude to her staff!! Very slow to take order and to get check to pay the bill. Overall terrible experience.

We visited on a Friday evening. We were greeted by the same lady that served us throughout. She was brilliant. Arguably the best waitress I've ever had. Polite, thorough and efficient. Said the name was Aaliyah on the bill although maybe wrong. We ordered from the set menu, great value and enjoyed the food. Will visit again.

What a great way to start a day! A warm welcome from Anita and fresh coffee brought as soon as we took our comfy seats in the sun. Then the breakfast was fabulous – we had the Veggie Fry Up and the Vegan Fry Up. Both were generous portions of really tasty ingredients, all perfectly cooked. The scrambled tofu was particularly brilliant. The teas and coffees were spot-on too. Highly recommended.

The entire visit wasn’t great at all. The staff all seemed like zombies and moving at such a slow pace it was weird. The food was some of the worst food we have ever tasted. Out of 4 of us not one of us enjoyed the meals we ordered. Quite frankly it was disgusting. None of us are really complainers so we eat as much as we could stomach (which wasn’t a lot) and politely told the waiters we were finished and we all left hungry. a lady who i assume was the manager noticed we had barely touched the meals and asked if everything was okay to which we politely just advised that it wasn’t great and we didn’t enjoy it but it was fine we just wanted the bill. To which she apologised profusely and admitted she was aware the food wasn’t great which says a lot. She did however discount the bill by a decent amount which was nice of her as she didn’t have to and we would have paid the full price so this was appreciated.

Came for lunch today, order was taken quickly with a smile, food arrived at the perfect temperature and we very tasty!

The service was great, the staff are lovely. Unfortunately there’s little that can be done to overcome a woeful menu full of poor quality ingredients and lacking in inspiration or imagination. £40 for two and a child including drinks isn’t hugely expensive, but there’s little in the way of value for money at Frankie and Bennys.

Offered a free main meal (.Birthday ) Showed the email on being seated. Checked what i could order before doing so. After the meal I was informed it was the cheapest meal free. Not what I had ordered. The staff were quite rude and huddled together laughing about this. I notice many branches are closing I expect this one will be next.

Very loud atmosphere so not for the ones who want to chill. Bbq chicken wings the best on the menu. Halloumi burger dry and not tasty, waste of money; my daughter had to leave it and nibble on my food. The waitress was a bit too much but might be her personality. Also, please stop telling your employees to go to people and ask how is their food after first bite, I really hate it and I believe staff hates it too. Mocktails taste much better that cocktails;( . Personally I think the food is a bit overpriced, I did enjoy some of the things but the £15 for a burger… is kind of too high. Its was 2 adults and 2 kids and bill came to £125 for a dinner.. that is a lot, and no desserts were included.

Me and my wife attended frankie and bennies @ riverside in Northampton and the service was exceptional. My wife wanted the new york chicken but didn't want chicken breast but wanted crispy chicken instead after a conversation from the waitress with the chef ( mancin) he went above and beyond to provide this for my wife, This meal was cooked to perfection and was cooked and delivered with the highest standard. If your ever in near this restaurant do not hesitate to pop in you will not be disappointed.

Amazing service from Aaliyah. Nothing was too much. Very attentive and the food was great. The manager is also an asset. Would definitely recommend

Went out for a family meal this evening and was served by Aaliyah. She was very attentive and listened to specific requests (some of our requests were a little different “a rare pizza”) food was spot on and service was perfect 5* from us! We have an early evening meal with our friends and children today for the first time in over 6 months. We were served by Aaliyah, she was attentive and made sure she double checked our order was correct as we had lots of menu changes (fussy eaters and children) and none of our requests where too much. The food was perfect and served very quickly, we all left with happy full bellies and will definitely be returning again soon!

An absolutely brilliant restaurant, making the most of the current climate! They've not been open long and it shows - there's a great atmosphere, the restaurant is clean and the decor sharp, and all the staff were on their top game. The food was excellent - I had a Sirloin Steak and it was delicious. Annette was our waitress - give this lady a raise! Fantastic service and made the whole trip worthwhile. Front of house wasn't so good but fair play to the lad, he tried his best. If you've eaten at an F&B's before - this is that experience, with everything delivered to a standard of excellence.

Aaliyah was our waitress I’m sorry if the spellings wrong the printing on the receipt was a bit faded. Anyway family of four had a table booked at another restaurant on the retail park when we drove in it was said I wonder if these would have a table for a walking. They where great not being for the area I did use google who recommended 10 places to eat but never mentioned these. So after being asked if we wanted to use our phone to order or have a person obviously people beat phones hands down. Order drinks and mains for us and even though my son will only eat a limited menu because he’s funny about food some times they arranged for his burger to be salad and sauce free and with the cheese, so he was happy my partner & I had the New York chicken with the half ribs TBH they are great our younger daughter had the bigger children’s meal with 2 pizza she was very pleased and finished the lot and some of our sons too. Then on to desserts yes I’m greedy so I always ask what’s the biggest and was served a very nice chocolate brownie ice cream it was great partner had the New York cheesecake would recommend both of these desserts. The kids had chocolate chip ice cream with banana both enjoyed all in all great evening and the beer came with an ice cold glass that made everything perfect. Staff are friendly and helpful and the one way system keeps you feeling very safe. 10/10 made a great day even better. Thanks

Recently ate here on a trip with work. Very good food and staff were friendly and talkative. The food quality was brilliant but a little bit on the pricey side. Overall a very good dining experience.

We had a Valentines and birthdays celebrations, special menu, was tasty, the service good and the birthday candles on the ice cream at the end tipped us both over into a food coma, was a great evening

Went with my Grandso. Good resteraunt. Buzzing as half term holiday. Wanted the luch fish and chis, but sold out. Had the steak with fries. Excllent and the ginger beer was good also. Will return

We both had burgers that left us uninspired. I opted for a black and blue burger as I love blue cheese. There was evidence of the cheese but the burger was tasteless. Sadly the best bit of the meal was the chips. I was lucky to have a 40% voucher without this I would have complained at tasteless over priced burger

Called in here for breakfast while having the car serviced nearby. Friendly staff and fast service. The full cooked breakfast was tasty but went cold in seconds! Whether it was cold plates or not I don’t know but food should not go cold so quickly!Will probably try this again at some point but a bit disappointing for our first visit to this chain. It is open at 8am which is a plus whilst the Harvester next door doesn’t open until 9!

It’s great for what it is, a traditional basic English menu with good selection of stuff on offer and ok on price

If i could have given this 0 stars i would. The whole meal was awful. We were served by a moody waitress. The doughball starters were stale and had to be sent back. The food took ages to arrive and the restaurant was only a quarter full. The ribs were a tiny portion. Carbonara was tasteless with stale garlic bread. Was just really poor. We did conplain and they deducted carbonara and half price for the doughballs but not impressed and definitely wont return.

Breakfast at Frankie and bennys riverside was amazing as always. So many enjoyable meals here we just love the food and the atmosphere.

excellent food--but best of all, the atmosphere is great--there was one happy birthday table, with a good 'happy birthday' song and cake- children are very will catered for-the manager is excellent and knows regular customers names and special requests---he sets the standard for all the other staff --i would heartily recommend a meal here at any time--and particularly for a family occasion

We popped into frankie and bennys today for lunch, we disliked the vibe in there, the waiter wasn’t very friendly, we disliked our table, would have much preferred a quieter table, we had to ask about food which wasn’t on the menu we were given, the food wasn’t very nice and ended up paying a lot for under average food and service.

Table for two this evening with a friend for a catch up, was expecting usual good service and food as had previous been a fan of this chain and had been regularly. Unfortunately after tonight I think we won't be returning. Menu has changed which now serves basic foods, not alot of choice and has ruined the quirkiness of the place. Rude waitress which instantly a bad vibe. Small portion sizes for the price and burnt too - not very hot and considering how quickly the food came, it seemed like some of it kept on a hot plate. For what was £36 for two people, we were extremely disappointed and have paid McDonald's a visit on the way home as was still hungry...

Dropped in here today with wife for a quick lunch whilst shopping. You will see from my reviews that quite a few are for frankies and restaurants of this type - mostly mixed experiences. Nothing quite like this today though. Summarily , order, service and food were all good , no complaints . It was when I asked for the bill and tried to use a valid discount code from the app that it left a bad taste in the mouth.

I have a nut allergy. The waitress asked me to come and choose a dinner from the allergen menu on the till. I chose cod and chips - kept it simple. My order was taken. Then the manager come over to say that I couldn’t have fish and chips or any meat products as they fry it all in the same pan as other foods that would/may have nuts. They could only serve me salad. I have never been told that a restaurant can’t cater for me. If they provide an allergen menu then they should provide the food. I would presume this is the same for other allergens or intolerances. I went next door to the Harvester and they confirmed they would cook any meat dish in a separate fryer/pan etc. Frankie and Bennys need to provide a service that is fit for purpose. Very disappointing and can’t actually believe what happened in 2019!!

We prebooked our table for three before a cinema trip, the restaurant was busy but we were quickly seated and drinks order taken.

Very friendly and welcoming can not fault the service food and the staff 10 out of 10 and will be coming back

We visited for breakfast on Thursday and was very impressed. The food was lovely and the service was much better than I remembered previously. We were greeted by kirsty who was very polite and was very impressed when asked if we had any allergies.. We visited for breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived around 10.30am and the restaurant was busy. The manager, who is always very attentive and helpful, seated us immediately and took our drinks order. We then ordered our meals, the Traditional Breakfast, the Breakfast Stacker and scrambled eggs on toast. The food and drinks arrived within five minutes! The food was hot, tasty and good quality. The staff are always friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was happy. Will definitely have breakfast there again.

Visited with my partner and was greeted warmly during a busy period and sat at a table offered drinks right away and waited 5 mins before being checked on by Sandra asking if we was ready to order I advised I would like some more time and was then seen by hoini to take our food order. We received our starters very quickly and when requesting our mains was offered more drinks and waited around 15-20 mins for our mains to be delivered and was delicious service from all staff was brilliant and would highly recommend to anyone to visit will definitely be returning

We are frequent visitors of F&B; Riverside - We often ask to sit in Milena's section, she is friendly, helpful and always cheery and is swift to respond to customers and always tries to meet their needs. - In fact all the staff there are good, it is just that Milena stands above the rest. Food is tasty, service mostly great and place is clean. it has a fun vibe with the music that plays, and quite often we start joining in.

Love the traditional breakfast great value and eggs were cooked superbly. Loved the herb potatoes a different twist which makes the breakfast scrummy. Lattes are divine and a great kick to start the morning with. Food arrived quickly and waitress delivered our food with a smile..nothing was too much trouble . Thanks sandra and Kristy

had good time till the food i had bbg chickem pizza she had a chicken passta we were happy eating till my gf found a hair in her food witch i complained about was given a new meal witch was told was freashley made in the matter of minutes so clearly just microwaved when it came to paying i was told it was a chicken hair in the food witch i found funny as they have feathers not hair lol manager was very rude stay clear

Nice restaurant but not run by Italian people food didn't taste as good as other Frankie and Benny's it tasted a bit stale Bolognese also cold, cheese grater broke over our meal but waitress apologised and said she will have to go back to IKEA to purchase.a new one I for one was not very impressed with this restaurant clearly the staff didn't seem very well trained, meals need to be a lot hotter, cheese grater needs to be of good quality and not plastic. I cook authentic Italian food and theirs does not measure up there is no flavour whatsoever ,not Italian,

Me and my husband both enjoyed our meals. Different pasta dishes to each other, both very happy with our choices. Waffles for dessert - lovely! Great service from Dev, attentive but not too much, friendly and made us feel like old friends. Thank you!

We visited at lunch time just after schools broke up.

Our granddaughter and her boyfriend came to stay with us and we decided to take them to one of our favourite places to eat one evening for dinner. We had booked previously as it always seems to be very popular and busy, especially as it was Saturday night, so it would be prudent to book if you are going to eat there. The food was as good as it always is and can recommend the mushroom bruschetta to start with followed by the king prawn risotto - absolutely delicious. The staff are wonderful too, especially our waitress for the evening, Annelle.

We visited Frankie and Bennys at the Northampton Riverside. We were seated and greeted by a very friendly professional chap named Dev. I chose the mixed grill which was cooked to perfection. My partner requires a gluten free menu and she plenty of choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will soon be back.

Parking is free which is good but at lunchtimes it is very busy so service is slow. We had a mixed meat platter and when it came a lot of it was cold or overcooked. My milkshake also had no ice cream in it - it was basically just milk and very tasteless. Usually this chain serves good meals but on this occasion (Saturday lunchtime) we went away very disappointed and would not go back at this time again.

Not been to a Frankie and Bennys in years so thought we would pop in for lunch, seated straight away, had to wait at least ten mins for our 2 drinks.

Took my grandson for a Birthday breakfast as a treat. what a let down. All four meals came at different times none of them was cooked properly ie cold tomatoes under cooked bacon. Toast that was an insult to call toast. The poor waitress was on her own trying to do everything from drinks to taking orders etc etc.

I visited here whilst shopping as it was conveniently placed. Wish I hadn’t bothered. I had my daughter and almost 2 year granddaughter with me. The youngest was tired so we only ordered her a side of beans thinking she wouldn’t eat anything- she actually ate her body weight in beans and was happy. I have recently given up meat so had the vegan burger. I cannot imagine there is a vegan / vegetarian / pescatarian alive who wants to eat a fake meat burger, we are generally people who care about what we put into our stomachs and something more nutritionally worthwhile would be much better, something bean, pulse, vegetable based...

This breakfast will be very hard to beat.

Rude manager, rude staff, over priced rubbish food and beer tasted like pipes need a good clean- Sam Adams tasted terrible. Won’t be back anytime soon
