Francos Fish Bar in Neath Port Talbot

This place is a joke cost £14 for a small chips and 2 rissoles, tbf were pathetic no bigger than a average size egg they are literally robbing everyone who walks through the door, they are lucky I didn't collect the food myself as I would have thrown it back at them what a joke. You people are mad to give this place a good reviews, i remember when it was just a shed with a blue door the food then was the best 👌 wouldnt even give to the seguls now ( RIP OFF SCAM OWNER WONT ALLOW OTHER BUISINESS TO MAKE A LIVING )

Great service, friendly, quick and adaptive - went down with my niece and parents were held up but no issues to get mains and desserts out at the same time. Food was fantastic as usual :)

Have been a few times as an eat in customer. Lovely service and usually good solid portions in the restaurant. Tried the takeaway on a weekend. Admittedly it was a very busy weekend and we waited about 25 mins for gluten free cod chips desert and drinks to take home. Turned out to be utterly inedible. Absolutely covered in oil (soaked through the packaging and everything including the car seats!) and the bites had hardly any fish in them at all. Was all greasy oily batter. Paid almost £40 inclusive of 2 deserts (lemon tart ok but nothing to write home about) and drinks. Very very disappointed. I understand being busy and needing to wait on a busy weekend but quality was so poor. Wont be going back.

Lovely food, excellent service. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family to visit here any time during the year.

The fish was fresh with lovely crisp batter, plenty of chips and mushy peas. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I had a caramel cheesecake for pudding and that was delicious too. Staff were brilliant and the place is dog friendly too. Well worth visiting.

I had had food from the takeaway side and I fancied a desert. I ordered a piece of cheesecake and a takeaway coffee I was told £9-50. When the cheesecake was given to me I opened the cardboard container and wondered where the rest of my cake was. I didn't touch it and said to the server I ordered one of those and pointed to the cheesecake in the chiller only to then realize that the piece I thought I was going to have was actually 3 pieces together, even then it was only the size of a small custard slice. I was so disgusted that they could charge £6.50 for the smallest sliver of cheesecake they could cut. I asked for my money back and left. I understand they need to make a profit and that deserts are not cheap but there is such a thing as insulting your customers.

Popped in here for lunch whilst visiting family, was lovely. Our table looked out over the beach front, the food was lovely and the staff were friendly.

Visited today to treat my daughter before starting school tomorrow. On arrival was a bit confused as to wait to be seated or not. Sign says wait, staff said to go ahead & sit. Nice waitress who took our order quickly and food arrived in good time. Had asked for the bacon to be crispy and on side of waffles which it wasn't. But was rectified quickly. The ladies toilet needed attention as there was water or whatever on the floor. Notified a waitress and was sorted out. Nobody was on the till when I went to pay so quite a queue had formed but was dealt with reasonably quickly. Should of asked for a receipt as £24 seemed expensive for waffles with bacon, half stack of pancakes with berries, cappuccino, mineral water and a passionfruit iced tea.

It’s an average fish n chip shop with high prices and a slow, slow, slow service. Be prepared to queue for a take away for 40 mins with 10 people in front of you. Then a 25 minute wait after. The staff don’t care, and seem to do nothing behind the counter. As has been said on other reviews - the bins are overflowing and never emptied. Sign of the times - bad service, expensive and no pride in work. If they had competition they’d go out of business.

Like chips? Try this place. Cracking chips. A real indulgence but absolutely smashing! Lovely staff too.

Have been here many times. To give an example, the last visit was brilliant. A lovely welcome where we felt valued. The food was excellent, plentiful and good value. We took the dog, he is very well behaved, the staff made us feel comfortable, even bringing the dog a bkanket as the weather was awful. We will go back the next time we are passing.

What a lovely restaurant with fabulous sea views. We took our friends here for dinner, we had starters prawn cocktail which was huge and almost a meal in itself, followed by fish and chips, obviously large fish, well it certainly was and covered the whole plate. Service was fantastic with the waitress having a really pleasant manner and smile and nothing was too much trouble. We then came for a second visit a week later with different friends and we couldn't fault anything this time either. Will definitely we coming back again.

Lovely service but some of the meals were awful. The gluten free fryer was not working so limited choices. The cow pie was inedible. Chunks of gristly beef in tasteless gravy topped with mashed potatoe that tasted like smash. Two mouthfuls and I couldn’t face any more. Disgusting don’t order it. To be fair the took the cost off the bill without me asking. Others had fish and chips which were good. Nice strong filter coffee and the gluten free apple pie was excellent. Beautiful views. I won’t be back tho because my meal was dire.

Not how it used to be... food quality is not good. Chips were cold and Gravy like jelly. Staff not overly happy if yoi go back and mention it! Think the owner thought more highly of his customers (locally) when we supported him in the old 'shed'. Has become greedy and prices have risen and risen (and I'm not referring to the current hike in food costs). Shame.

Do not know what has happened here but the standard has definitely dropped . Small potions , badly prepared and cooked food and ridiculous prices. £4-95 for a milk shake. Have to give this place a miss. Terrible.
