Framptons Cafe Bar & Kitchen in Tunbridge Wells

Surprisingly nicer menu than what my impression was outside. With vegan variations.

I researched a few places online and Framptons was the winner. I am pleased to say my expectations were exceeded in every way when I visited, which was for the sole purpose of having a porn star martini.

Great service and food and dog friendly to boot.

Dinner was dreadful. Three burgers, all the buns were cold and stale. The beef was sent back twice as not cooked as requested. Wasn't busy at all so no excuses. However, I've heard lots of good things so hopefully a one off. Went again recently and equally awful. Not all food choices available, wine we wanted not available. Waitress mixed up the order and broke two glasses. Then they closed without offering us dessert. Food was really bad. Never going here again, should have learned the first time around. Had to request a discount.

Nice place for a drink or light lunch

Went to Framptons on a Saturday night with a party of 6 and all wanted steak.They only had 2 left.So the other 4 asked for Roast Chicken and they only has 1 left.Most of us had to have burger & chips instead. Even though the food was very good whatever we chose in the end I can’t believe that they has not stocked up on chicken and steaks on a Saturday night for a 7pm booking. If your going there for steak then maybe give them a call beforehand to make sure they have got some!!

New favourite place in pantilles. I see why people walk past it as it right by the road but it is fantastically quiet and has a rare three windows walls. Previous bank vibes with vault and exposed brickwork are beautiful. Best burger I've had in a long while and reasonably priced. Defs going back again.

Recently visited (25/08/24).Unfortunately to our disbelief there was only one person serving . This lovely Romanian Girl was extremely under alot of pressure dealing with a very busy lunch time serivce. Turned out that her manager was on a break and left her on her own . This was totally unexceptable. The only one member of staff had to cover both downstairs and upstairs . So when coming upstairs this ment downstairs was left unattended. This is a absoult NO on all grounds . On saftey grounds aswell as leaving the bar totally unattended. My friends and i decided to have drinks upstairs where by the the lovely female staff did come upstairs to take out food orders eventually. On a good note though. The Sunday roast was absoultly delicious 😋 😍 I actually thanked and shook the hands if the chefs who had to step in and serve us and the other customers who were seated upstairs .. It was such a shame really ,because the food was absoultly delicious 😋 but for such a busy bar and restaurant to only have one membernof staff serving during a very busy lunch time was very disappointing and very badly managed. Shame really, because the food was delicious and the ONE member of staff was so so nice and did her very very best. So the manager/ management need to have a serious look at thier operating system. And NOT too leave just one memeber of staff on thier own to cope with such pressure . Customers were actually leaving due to the long waiting times.. I hope this review is read by the manager/ management . Because if i were some health and safety inspector,? Then i am sure you would be facing some very tough questions 🤔.

Friendly bar on the edge of the Pantiles. Great food, especially Sunday, and a wide range of beers and wines.

Good happy hour deal but it was really slow to get served despite there being no one else at the bar (the one staff member working was making cocktails for another customer). There is no baby change facility and the toilets are up stairs (with no space to change a baby). Sometimes they let you change downstairs but this was not available on this visit.

Having not tried the food I have to give 1 star. So this is an invalid score. The bar staff are knowledgeable, Quick and have loads of banter and keep me wanting to spend my money. I love the décor and the seating arrangements give a friendly and inclusive atmosphere in Framptons. LOVE IT!!!

We went for a random drink and ended up staying for a Comedy night. Lovely atmosphere and I would go there again.

Never been here personally but again iv heard its very nice and qiute popular with people and I'm going with the reviews iv heard and I might try it

Visited on a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was quiet which is normal on the day we went, but we quite liked that. Really like the restaurant decor. The staff were nice and friendly. THE FOOD!! The food was amazing, the best mac and cheese I've ever had, and the burger was so juicy and delicious! Visited here as it was very close to our hotel, and so glad we did! Would definitely come back if in the area again.

As all other places on Pantiles, quite pricey. Visited this place on a bank holiday weekend, lunch. At 12 pm it was pretty empty, could easily find a place. But it gets packed later. Ordered sunday roasts, 2 adults, 1 kid. 1 Juice and 2 cokes. Meat was soft and well cooked, vegetables were delicious. Yorkshire pudding was however a bit overcooked, bitter. Bill was 65 pounds.

The prices at Framptons are typical of The Pantiles—slightly high but still affordable, with the ambiance justifying the cost. The only downside during my visit was an encounter with an attendant who was on a phone call when I arrived. He continued the call for more than four minutes before attending to me, which seemed unprofessional. Despite this, he was pleasant and we had a nice chat once he was off the phone. Overall, Framptons is an interesting spot with good service, albeit with a bit of room for improvement in staff behavior. I'll definitely give them another try.

A great spot with truly delicious ans fresh food - the salads are as amazing as the burgers. Have been a few times, last visit there was a minor issue with my order, but the way it was handled and resolved only made me appreciate this gem of a restaurant more.

Stop by for lunch with a group of five friends, waitress was very pleasant and took our orders, food took around 45mins and when it arrived most of the dishes were lukewarm with mine being cold. I sent it back and it was replaced but at this point I lost my appetite with one other friend leaving their meal. I’m not sure what was happening in the kitchen but I’m not letting this put me off Looking at previous reviews they have been good, it’s just this day they definitely were not on their game. We did complain to the young waiter/barman but he just shrugged his shoulders and really did not seem interested.

Always like the atmosphere of this venue. Great team & the food is always on point! Today’s triple roast definitely hit the spot especially with a crumble and custard to follow. If your hungry & fancy a banging roast, then please do book & give them a try.

Unfortunately, what used to be a lively local is now empty and devoid of atmosphere.

I have really liked Framptons and the food they serve for several years. Staff very friendly and atmosphere pleasant. A few months ago they changed the burger they used to serve (which was excellent) and replaced with 2 small burgers (of not such good quality). So I have to give only 3 stars for food. It would definitely go back to 5 stars if the original burger quality returned. Any feedback from the manager appreciated.

We've had breakfast here a couple of times now and it is excellent. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They were more than happy to make substitutions on the breakfasts for example. The food is delicious and comes well presented. Whenever we're in Tunbridge Wells we will definitely be coming here.

Shame inconsistency in menu items - with so much competition around, should be on top of your game! Great bar staff

The Ceasar salad was nothing like a ceasar salad, And it cost £14..The walls and pieces of art, we're all dusty and dirty too..I won't be going back.

Had a great late afternoon lunch at this lovely pub on the Pantiles. Love the food and the staff were so friendly. Not a massive food selection but what is available tasted great, I would definitely recommend coming here!

Nice to have a drink. This time we didn’t eat here, we passed at an hour the kitchen was having their break, but we certainly come back another time to try the food.

Excellent Sunday roast, probably one of the best in town. I’m knocking a star off as service was unfortunately very slow.

We had the best Sunday lunch for my dad’s birthday, the food was incredible and the staff were so attentive especially the sever with long brown hair who helped us with a surprise birthday cake. I was bragging at how Framptons has one of my top ratings for roasts and they certainly delivered.

Excellent Sunday roast! Shame I live in London and I can't go more often. Sirloin to die for and so were the roast vegetables. Potatoes not my favourite but the rest was yummy. Friendly helpful staff and the pub looks lovely, cool deco.

Really excellent lunch. Had brunch, and all our food was really nice. Great for the reasonable price.

Walked in for a quick brunch. Greeted warmly and shown to a lovely table. The service was efficient and attentive. Had a black coffee with poached egg, avo and a spritzy salsa. Left this place with a small bill and a full tummy. Just the right atmosphere for TW.

Good food, but very long wait, especially with children.

Great Location & Staff. Soundtrack first class... only let down by the table of Overtly Loud Tunbridge Toffs with competing egos. Only recommendation... turn the Tunes up.

Great food. Staff were fantastic, very busy for them as a large party in up stairs but they coped well.

If you want to eat here probably best to pre-book. They don't mark their tables as reserved and staff can be quite rude if you sit at a table you think 'unoccupied'. Won't bother going back.

Divine Sunday roast - I had the pork roast with Yorkshire pudding, burnt apple sauce and seasonal vegetable, all cooked with so much flavour and care. Also really lovely atmosphere and decor, clearly a local favourite.

Excellent food and great atmosphere!

Went for coffe and pastries on a Wenesday morning. No food at all and coffe was average, drinkable but slightly bitter. Nobody else there. Very disappointing. This is the second time we have tried Framptons. The first time the place was empty but they would not seat us because every table was reserved. So half an hour for breakfast was not possible. Terrible place.

Met with a friend here for drinks and something to eat. We didn't get a chance to eat as we had arrived too late however the bar tenders were very friendly and helpful. We ended up having a few glasses of wine and packets of crisps. As it was late in the evening I feel the lighting was too dim, made it difficult to see and read the menu or take good photos. I understand the lighting is to create an atmosphere but could use a little more lighting. The set up is super relaxed and welcoming.

Convenient location to drop by for a drink when visit Pantiles and friendly staff but not many tables which already had been reserved on saturday morning, also a cup of coffee was not cheap but served in a small cup and not very hot.

Dropped in a couple of times during our visit back to Tunbridge Wells. A cool New York loft style. Friendly and lively atmosphere, with knowledgeable and talented bar staff delivering some great cocktails. Happy hour for pairs of these great cocktails at £10 can’t be beaten. Quality!

We had an amazing meal here on Thursday. Connie, Asa and Sam were so friendly and helpful, the service was really great. The food was absolutely delicious - the fresh catch of the day was the nicest fish I’ve had in years. We’ll definitely be back.

Beer good. Amber ale? Idk but was good. I love that in the gents (a bit of an upward treck) allowed you to “go” into a cut out beer keg… full cycle!

Very welcoming service, great decor. My wife left her purse and a potential panic was immediately averted when we were told over the phone that their attentive staff already had it in their office. I can't promise that every betrayed purse in this establishment will be recovered by these heroes, but kudos to them on this occasion.

Had the £10 burger, but it's really £11! £1 service charge. It was tasty (although not as good as it once used to be). Please bring back proper plates & throw away those awlful camping plates!

Both steaks were perfectly cooked, mac and cheese was very flavourful, staff service was excellent too. Deep fried squid was unfortunately chewy but that was the only negative, definitely will be back soon

Nice bar/cafe with a relaxed/casual atmosphere...

Visited a week or so ago and ordered espresso martinis all night which went down a treat with my friends and I. Credit to the fringed bartender behind the bar, great drinks and sharp chat.

Quirky bar, old bank, kept its theme. No lid on my drink bottle that cost £12 and no jokes or sympathy when mentioned, staff could have a little better customer service but cannot still complain :)

Staff were very pleasant and service was good, but the pork belly was tough and mainly fat with underdone chewy 'crackling'. However, the roast potatoes were stupendous and the vegetable helping extremely generous. Because of that I'll come back again and give it another chance, but maybe not on a Sunday when the menu is limited to roasts.

The food was good but small portions. Not too fond of the interior decor which is sort of under construction look.
