Welcoming & friendly with great food. Called in 10 minutes before food service stopped, Very welcoming and seated on a nice table in the bar as we had our dogs with us. Prompt friendly service from the bar staff and food delicious. Will be a regular visitor from now on.

We have been to the Framboisette many times - for special occasions, sampling their exquisite Taster Nights and taking part in their quizzes (always great fun!). We recently visited for their Steak Night, and what a special experience it was. We had the homemade fishcake to start with, which was out of this world! Then came the Sirloin Steak which was cooked to perfection, with their gorgeous chunky chips which are the best we've ever tasted - all accompanied by a bottle of delicious merlot wine. The home cooked food is always amazing with generous portions and reasonable prices, and Irene and the team are always so friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. Looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic place to go for a variety of occasions with amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. I've been there numerous times to lunch or dinner and to the exquisite taster nights. My personal favourite is the Cajun chicken but the slow cook beef is also delicious. In my experience there is always a warm welcome and fantastic food. Loved the taster plates from the recent German food experience.

Absolutely fantastic - generous portions of delicious food. Every time I've eaten here the service has been warm and welcoming and the meals have been spot on. There's a nice mix of traditional pub grub alongside a variety of interesting options. Highly recommended.

We live locally and have had several meals here. During lockdown we ordered Sunday lunch lots of times outstanding every meal. The beef was perfect and we got plenty of veg and a pot of gravy. The landlady/manager is lovely so friendly and the whole process during collecting meals during lockdown was safe and hygienic. Can’t wait to go back to sitting in for a meal.

Following two excellent group Christmas meals in '18 and '19, Mrs S wanted to Birthday it last night. ... Another excellent experience for 4 of us, smashing attention, service and food. 2 chicken, one lamb shank, one fish pie plus nice vegs, then chocolate brownies and stikky t puds all went down well, nothing left - so theres the proof of the pudding! And then mine hostess very kindly presented Mrs S with a box of chocolates! We might well go back for the next birthday amongst our group in the hope that ........!Lovely evening, enjoyed by all of us.

Visited there today with my family and some elderly relatives. We were confused with the name of the place actually being called "locomotion" out the front but in small writing you found the actual name of the restaurant.Service was really friendly and helpful. The menu had lots to choose from that suited my 8 year old daughter, us and our elderly relatives (smaller portions).I was hesitant choosing the fillet steak but it was cooked to perfection and worth every penny. The food was all very fresh and very tasty. Why not 5*? Two reasons: 1. It took quite a long time for the food to come out. It actually didn't bother us too much but may daughter got a bit restless. And it was worth the wait. 2. The decor is really confusing and dated - a mish-mash of styles - the serviettes in glasses, wine bottle decorations and tablecloths felt very 1970s!We came away happily full and felt the restaurant had exceeded our expectations and without a doubt will return.

Thought we’d try this restaurant and were well rewarded. Good menu, lovely staff and the food was excellent and well presented. We chooses off the lunch special menu the portions were good and very tasty. Will definitely be returning. Well worth a visit.

We have looked at this place many times and were unsure given that we believed it is a pub. Well it is, but with a twist, a rather nice restaurant room exists at the back. We were slighted confused at first as no meet and greet, orders are taken by the barmaid at your restaurant table.Food was generally good uncomplicated and value for money.One dish was described as excellent, I will have that next time.Worth a visit as they have what looks like some special offers (steak and wine) during the week.

We chose Framboisette to celebrate with a meal after our wedding on 11/03/2019 and they accomodated 18 of us with ease. The food was excellent and Irene and Jim and the team could not have been more accomdating even when we asked if we could traipse in and out to the beer garden for pictures. Irene asked lots of questions about what we wanted and then delivered everything we asked for. the service was terrific and the whole team are very friendly and welcoming. I would totally reccomend to others without hesitation. So impressed.

This hidden gem has recently had a facelift and the decor is now tastefully up to date. After a small computer glitch (it happens to us all!) the Facebook page has had to be changed and is now "The Framboisette" (not just "Framboisette" as before). Still the same lovely management and staff and the food just as good as ever. We have been coming here regularly since moving nearby about two years ago. We particularly appreciate the monthly themed taster evenings (15 dishes served in groups of 3, tapas style) and the early evening fixed price menu with a good choice of starred items from the full menu, which changes every 3 months or so. Special menus are arranged for dates such as Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day etc.The restaurant is behind, and part of the "Locomotion" inn, formerly "The Sportsman". The public bar has been kitted out with an interesting collection of railway memorabilia, reflecting the area's connection with the old Stockton and Darlington railway. And yes, you can have the same food as a bar meal in the public or lounge bars. And if you are waiting for a train at nearby Eaglescliffe station, the train arrival/departure screen is available in the bars.

A group of 8 of us went today for the lunch menu. Brilliant price for 3 course meal. Just the right amount for lunch. Service was spot on and atmosphere was very pleasant. All our meals arrived in good time and all were very happy with our choices. Plenty to choose from too. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend.

We have been coming to Framboisette since it opened and the food is always excellent and the service friendly and welcoming. We had a meal here for our 30th anniversary and the provided a bottle of fizz and a balloon it was so special and very kind of them. I would highly recommend this restaurant for couples or families

I’m a local In this area and my family and I always come here to eat. The food is always amazing everytime!! Never had a bad thing to say about the place, the staff are lovely and polite and always so helpful especially Irene the owner!

We recently visited this “restaurant” for lunch. There was no other customers at any of the tables but this didn’t put us off although I wish it had. The initial impression was tidy and clean. The girl that served us was friendly and polite. That’s the gold bits out of the way. Two lattes were ordered.A short time later they arrived all but cold. More warm milk was requested to improve the latte . The food order was taken and about 5-7 minutes later food was presented at our table. It was cold, it appeared to be left over from the previous day. The waitress was polite though out but the food was a disgrace cold tasteless and most certainly not fresh. If your planning a lunch or evening out I would give this one a miss. There are far better restaurants in the area than this poor example

have been to this restaurant lots of times for lunch catch ups , dinner dates and family celebrations. The menu is fresh and always top quality, staff are happy to accommodate any of our requests. I actually should not be telling anyone because i would be devastated if i was ever unable to get a table.

From the outside you wouldnt know there was a gem of a restaurant inside. The menu has a good choice with a number of options for Gluten Free. Meals cooked from scratch and fresh. if you require extra vegetables or gravy just ask and they are very obliging to bring more. Very friendly service as well.

We visit here frequently. Food is very, very good & staff are very obliging - e.g. if you want chunky chips instead of rice etc they will change for you. Menu changes about every 3 months. There is an early bird offer which is very good value. Wine by the glass is good quality. There is also a pizza menu, a lunch menu & a Sunday lunch menu. We would definitely recommend.

Called in here today for lunch with my husband and daughter. First impression was leave but we thought no it’s local give it a go. We had wanted to visit the waiting room opposite but it was closed - don’t make our mistake LEAVE!

We have been coming here for the ‘taster’ evenings which are a great selection of foods from different countries. Last time was Canadian evening and the food was truly fantastic. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Give it a try you won’t be sorry.

After a visit to the fantastic Preston Park Museum - my wife and I with friends decided to have a late lunch before heading back north and home. We asked for advice at the Museum and they pointed us in the direction of Eaglescliffe Station and this delightful establishment. The decor is nice an modern, the atmosphere quiet and unobtrusive, the standard of staff and service excellent.

In the local park land and wanted something to eat. The cafe in the grounds only had ready made sandwiches with chips etc .....

Went here a week ago with family and was surprised at how nice our meal was. We had a lovely meal, I had potato skins to start with and the staff were very accommodating as one of the party didn’t like garlic mayo so they swapped it for sweet chilli sauce instead. I had the chicken and bacon pasta and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Another member of the party and got a parmo who said it was lovely. My boyfriend got a pizza and it was huge, we ended up taking half of it home. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely and the Eton mess looked amazing and tasted just as good. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff were all lovely there as well. Very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend and return again. Thank you

We took some french visitors early on a Friday evening, there were 12 of us in total. We had pre-ordered which made it easier for us and the restaurant. The french are a hard crowd to please but they all thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the only complaint being from a few of the ladies that the parmo's were too big. Would definitely recommend as it's such good value for quality food and the service was excellent.

I visited the Locomotion/Framboisette yesterday for a few pints and a meal, The staff were very friendly and helpful with good banter. Food wise I had the 8 oz steak gourmet burger of the menu and it was excellent.

This is my local, I'm in here atleast 7 days a week, food and drink are always top notch, all of the staff are always welcoming and friendly, Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.

I'm eaten here many times, it's always great - the food, the staff and the experience. My favourite visits are the taster nights such as 15 tastes of Belgium but I've learnt to book early as the restaurant sells out quickly. Fantastic that I can also eat in the bar and lounge and have my dog with me. Simply not enough places are dog friendly. Great to see the bar done out too with some genuine local heritage we should be proud of, all to do with the local railways.

Was really looking forward to coming to this restaurant but what a disappointment. We were the only people there throughout lunch service. Starters were lovely but then our mains arrived. Presentation was lovely but both the fish and chicken course was raw in the middle and no one likes pink chicken. I made server aware who took my plate away, removed the chicken and returned with the fries.no alternative given and wasn't asked if I'd like another made. I didn't eat the fries either as they'd been in intact with raw chicken. We politely refused any desserts and instead asked for the bill. To my astonishment we were charged for the whole meal even though my daughter couldn't eat her raw fish and I couldn't eat any of mine. Explained why I wouldn't be paying the full bill and the server took it away and took £2 off. I then had to say yet again I wasn't paying for food I couldn't eat. It took 4 attempts of her going back and fore trying to work it out. In the end I gave up, paid and walked out hungry. Even though my starter was £4 I was still charged £5.95. I will not be returning to this restaurant..........ever

This place was recommended, never been before but at the back of the locomotion pub was Framboisette, a lovely little restaurant. We were the only ones in midweek and service was quick and friendly.

This restaurant in the Locomotion pub is a good find. We had the early bird menu and it was super wih enough choice for us. Well presented dishes of food and good priced wine.Maybe a few more vegetables, but we could have ordered them separately. Try the local chicken dish and eat it all if you can. Delicious.

Had lunch here Thursday 13/07/17 we usually go into Yarm when i meet up with my girlfriends,but having received a leaflet advertising here,thought we would give it a go, the first thing was the easiness of been able to park right outside,The Locomotion pub in which the Framboisette Restaurant is situated is very clean is as the Restaurant,very pleasant staff ,The Food was Delicious ,we each had a main course and a sweet ,each was beautifully presented ,would recommend,and will be going back.

Called in for lunch recently having read good reviews about the place. Was a little surprised that we were the only two people in the place for the whole time we were there, which I must admit felt a bit strange!

Visited here for Valentines, didn't know what to expect but pleasantly surprised, attractive decor, relaxed friendly atmosphere and staff, the set menu was small but great choices, my steak was over cooked but quickly sorted and the food was very tasty and an excellent standard, stayed for another drink in the bar after and were in no rush to leave.

Have visited this restaurant two weeks running. On both occasions the food and service has been superb. Tonight was a specials night with food from Sicily. The restaurant was full but the food was served quickly and efficiently. Could not fault the service or food. Give it a go you won't be dissapointed.

Definitely could do with a makeover but very friendly and welcoming staff. My dinner was frankly disappointing with no green vegetables with my main course of sea bream on a bed of crushed potatoes. My starter of jacket potato skins were soggy and not the best. Having said that I felt the price was not too unreasonable.

We have just had a lovely Christmas meal for a party of 16 at the Framboisette,the staff couldn't of been more helpful or friendly inspite of people arriving late,everything was fresh and hot ,the staff unflappable as most couldn't remember what they had ordered!!Thankyou Irene we all had a lovely evening

The staff and service were exceptional..we felt very welcome.. Nothing was too much trouble .. Food was amazing and the service was superb. We had a large square table( seated 14 ..but could have been 20) this meant we could all chat . Fantastic would ( and have recommended ) to others. Prices were so good everybody in the party felt they had value for money .

Fantastic evening here, food was amazing and the service was even better. Can't wait to come back and try more food, also prosecco with raspberry syrup is a must try! 3 of us with 3 starters and 3 main courses every dish was beautifully presented and just as tasty, as photos show!

We visited as part of a group. Despite booking well in advance the staff and kitchen struggled to cope. Some food was served cold, others got the wrong main, and they failed to bring it all out together meaning some people had almost finished one course before others were served. May be ok for couples and families but no good for larger groups. Dissappointing.

Decided to visit having lived around the corner for just over a year and we both really enjoyed our visit. We had the early bird special, £10.95 for 2 courses, with Sardines and Mushrooms in Brandy Sauce to start followed by Beetroot and Broad Bean Risotto and Black Pudding and Chorizo Risotto. Food was very tasty and service was very good. Will definitely be back.

Came here this morning from our hotel from hell and was greeted by a lovely woman who took our order and Made up the best breakfast we have had here so far the public house was clean and the staff are friendly well done 🙂

The Restaurant is attached to the Sportsman Pub next to Eaglescliffe railway station. Only a ten minute walk from the Parkmore. Superb food and service. Really good value.

After living in the area for almost 3 years I can't believe I haven't visited this restaurant before. I joined a group of friends here last Friday and we had a wonderful evening. The menu had something for all tastes I had the venison I asked for it medium rare it was perfect and for dessert I had a banana crepe which was also excellent. Great value for money very attentive and polite staff great experience will most definitely be back thanks to all the staff at framboisette for a wonderful evening.

A group of us (all ladies) went here to celebrate my retirement, following 2 previous visits for meals which had been very good. The staff could not do enough to make our evening really special. We had arranged entertainment (Simon Carter - sings swing really well & dresses the part!!) & staff accommodated this without issue. The food was extremely good and service was excellent. Full marks to everyone there!!! For note - the restaurant also has special event nights with either food or entertainment themes.

A well presented little gem in the heart of "Old Eaglescliffe". Lovely decor and attentive staff made for a meal to remember, which it's self was delightful. The Sportsman's Hotel in which the restaurant is located proved to be a friendly and lively venue for post dinner drinks as well. Would most definitely recommend and will most definitely be back.

Menu looked good but the meal had no taste and was of poor quality. Seemed to be only one person working taking orders and doing the cooking.

This was our second visit to this lovely establishment. We went for the early bird special, but it was of very good quality, served by the very friendly owner. Delicious fish and a nice dessert which we shared afterwards.

Been here twice & going back for party in June. Quality of food is very high (chunky chips are delicious) - shame they have stopped the steak & wine offer on Monday nights. It's a bit different to other restaurants.

This Place is an absolute hidden gem. I have eaten here numerous times and have never been anything less that overjoyed. The food is exceptional very time. Couple this with a lovely warm atmosphere and great friendly & helpful staff and you have a winning combination. This is my favorite place to eat and I particularly enjoy the "themed evenings" as they give you a chance to try things that you maybe wouldn't be brave enough to normally. I truly can not recommend this place highly enough, its great for special occasions and also romantic meals for two. Cant wait for my next visit!!!

I was not aware this place existed until recently..(only been open 5 months),and I am so glad I visited.We booked for 7pm,as our original intention was just to eat off the set menu available to order until 730pm.We were greeted by a very friendly,and pleasant lady.who invited us to pick a table,as it was quiet.

Went here with some friends I hadn't seen in ages. From the minute we walked in we were looked after by the staff. We were given time before our order to meet and greet old friends. We all ordered different things and the staff allowed us to have things of other menus so it was a mixed order all dealt with without any fuss or bother. When the food came out it was Loverly and looked great. Everyone enjoyed there meals and we agreed that we would return again soon. The desserts looked wonderful so full of colour. Fantastic night. Thanks to all the staff.

Had lunch here today. The beef was beautiful my wife had the pork it came with plenty of veg, mash and roasties very nice place for Sunday lunch. Staff were great and very helpful. Be back soon.

It's been awhile since I was last in this area and I remembered the meal I had here last time was superb. I opted for the chicken wrapped in Parmasan. The chicken was spot on. Loverly and juicy. It came with sauté potatos and mustard sauce. All went well together. I've had 2 meals here now and both excellent. Can't wait for next time.

I ate here on Saturday night with a group of friends and it was fabulous, It was only at the end of the meal when we chatted to the waitress that we found out this was a relatively new restaurant, and the staff and owner were from the Brasserie in Yarm. I had eaten there many times before, had I known they had moved I'd have eaten at Framboisette before now. Lovely atmosphere, good service, delicious food.

I've been several times to Framboisette but this was my first visit on a theme night, which was Tapas. It was a set menu with lots of courses to their usual high tasty standards. Greek beer and Spanish wine to match the theme. I'll certainly be going to other themed nights. Excellent!

1) Took 1 hour for starters to arrive

Not been for a while and missed the place. Went with a couple of friends. We went on monday night which I found out that they have introduced a steak night. 2 steaks deal well priced and extremely beautiful tasting. I noticed that they have changed a few things on the menu so looking forward to trying some of the new additions when I return. As always service was great and the staff polite and wonderful.

I was recommended to try this restaurant whilst staying at The Sunnyside around the corner. The staff made me feel very welcome on both nights that i dined there - unfortunately alone as had quite a romatic feel. The food was excellent with a good a varied selection. will be back in a couple of months when back in the area

We were visiting some friends in Yarm last weekend and heard the Brasserie had moved to the Sportsman. We were driving past and popped in for a bite to eat. What a great venue! Completely transformed from how the pub was a few years back. Great family friendly vibe, the staff ever so pleasant and welcoming and the food was just fabulous! The Brasserie used to be my favourite restaurant many years ago so I was excited to see what Framboisette had to over - it didn't disappoint! We had such a fun night and the staff really looked after us. Will most definitely be paying them another visit when we're next back!

What a transformation! I hadn't been to the sportsman for 5 years when we drove past it last weekend. We were in Yarm visiting old friends. We heard the pub had had a revamp and a new restaurant had moved in so we thought we'd give it a try. The service was fabulous, the staff were friendly and inviting and it was an all round nice experience. The food was top notch and good value for money. I don't normally write reviews but after our evening there I thought I would. Very different place to what it was 5 years ago. I'd recommend for families or a big group like ours. Fallon

Really enjoyed our Sunday Lunch today, lots of choice of freshly cooked food. Comfortable surroundings and nice atmosphere.

Went here as a family for a celebration meal we were met and shown into the restaurant by the nicest of staff who continued with excellent service all through the evening. We were given the menus which seemed to have something for everyone. The food arrived and we were not dissapointed they were all good sized portions with plenty of flavour. The prices were very reasonable too. We had a great evening will return soon.

Nice little restaurant that has opened at the rear of the Sportsman - a well known pub near Eaglescliffe station. The food was fine if unambitious and we enjoyed the whole evening. The restaurant itself needs better ventilation as kitchen smells were permeating the room and this gives a poor first impression. Service however was very good and with some attention to detail the restaurant could do very well. Worth a try

Ok room in back of quiet pub. Eaglescliffe is a nice area so this place will probably do well in the long run. Food was ok but totally lacked atmosphere, preferred it when it was on the high street in Yarm.

As a regular trip advisor reader this is my first time at writing a review. After a fantastic night on New Year's Eve I felt it only fair after reading a previous review. We were a table of 2 at 8pm. When we arrived the restaurant was packed yet the service we received was second to none - friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Both of our meals including the lamb stiffado (not curry) were faultless. The atmosphere we considered lovely.... grown up with no silly gimmicks, just good food and service and at £35 for 3 courses extremely good value compared to those in Yarm. When we booked our table we were advised the restaurant would close at 11.15pm but that drinks would be served until 1am in the lounge so around 11pm we decided to join those in the lounge and got chatting to some very happy people who had also dined that evening. All in all we completely enjoyed our night and have already booked for Valentine's dinner. Thank you to all the staff who helped make a wonderful experience.

The restaurant was really just "OK". If I could give 2.5 stars I would.

The restaurant moved here from Yarm high street and is situated within a pub. The entrance isn't very welcoming. We had to go in the pub as we arrived at tea time and the restaurant wasn't ready. On entry the pub is very 80's. We were served drinks by a very friendly girl who made us welcome and got us menus for the restaurant. We ordered a steak and a chicken dish with a bottle of wine. We were shown to the restaurant and our table. It was like stepping into a different world the decor was very elegant and comfortable. Our meals eventually arrived and were nicely presented and tasted ok but nothing special. We ate most of our meal alone until two more tables came in and created a bit of atmosphere. We had coffee and chatted for a while....no more diners.....this was the week before Christmas! I feel this restaurant is confused, sharing the facilities of the pub isn't ideal.....we had very mixed feelings as we left.

I've eaten her midweek several times now. The menu has plenty of choices in like and seems to be changed on a regular basis, which is perfect for the likes of me eating after work midweek regularly. The food has never been less than delicious and the service polite, timely and with an attention to detail. Thoroughly recommended.

This is my second visit here now and it was as good as my last again in the area on business. This time there were a few more people in as there was some Christmas parties in and the happy atmosphere was buzzing get around the place. Certainly puts you in the mood for Christmas. The staff were attending get to everyone in a very friendly way. My food was great I had the chicken in peppercorn sauce with crush potatos. Extremely juicy. I followed up with a banana crepe in hazelnut syrup. Perfect sweetness. I would highly recommend this place.

Visited here with friends last week after getting off the train from York - the station is 2 minutes walk away. On first impressions from the outside it didn't look anything special but once in to the restaurant I was very pleasantly surprised. A friendly young lady greeted us and looked after us all evening very well, helping our group of fussy eaters with menu choices and drinks. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed some beautiful food in a cosy, relaxing atmosphere. Can definitely recommend the duck.

Visited here today (22.11.15) and we were not disappointed. We had drinks in the bar area first then were seated in the cosy dining room. I love a dining room that is well lit with candles and atmospheric lighting and it was! We all ordered different starters, all were yummy. We then ordered two chicken dinners and two beef dinners, they were also delicious and the beef was exceptional (as said by my husband!) 2 out of the party had desserts and they were also nice. £16.95 for 3 courses was very good value for money. All in all we will be visiting again as the service, food and ambience were all great.

Although the menu looked fine online, when we arrived it was empty, on a Friday night in what is a fairly busy area. The quality of the food was poor, as was the wine. Such a shame.

Went with the family for Sunday lunch and the food was great and also plentiful everything was fresh. Homemade yorkies and stuffing. The gravy was very good. The service as always was terrific. Loverly little restaurant. Love eating here. Great night out as the pub is attached for drinks after.

Went with a couple of friends on a busy Saturday night for my birthday, service was excellent and they catered for a friends special dietary requirements although it was short notice which we are extremely thankful for. Food was absolutely lovely and with a reasonable service time considering it was very busy. Would recommend this cosy little place to anyone with decent taste in food :D top notch !!
