Spring jazz evening was so good, the best jazz group I've heard in a while. Didn't get to try the food but drinks were ok. It was incredibly busy inside mainly because it was too cold outside but the band did great. Staff were lovely and friendly. Beautiful location.

Everything about this beautiful historic village pub ouses class. We visited for lunch yesterday and booked a table whilst sat outside in our car and were both fitted in immediately. On entry, it was evident just how homely and cozy this public house was with character in abundance, beams and old brickwork everywhere as well as a few well behaved dogs! The staff were very accommodating and quickly sat us taking our orders also in quick fashion. We both had mains only with a drink each, my wife had the fish and chips and I had the lamb shank, both were exceptionally tasty, my wife sliced me off a large piece of her cod which was better than any chip shop I had visited..... Perfect. My Lambshank was delicious 10/10, but the highlights of the pub were the staff. We were served by a very young lady who was superb, helpful and friendly and a huge asset to the pub. Everywhere, even the toilets, were so clean and tidy and full of character..... I have visited hundreds of Northamptonshire pubs and this tops the lot characterwise. A beautiful pub in a stunning village...... We will return. Visited 23rd March 2024

Had a delicious lunch today, service was really friendly. Had the steak sandwich with tasty rosemary fries and my friend had the mackerel and horseradish open sandwich. Would definitely recommend!

Love the Althorp Coaching Inn. We come here regularly for Sunday/Special lunches. The team are always super busy but friendly and attentive. I've seen past comments about the dogs. We love seeing the dogs and in all the times we've been, we have not seen them near the dining areas. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you to the team there.

I came today for a Mothers Day Sunday lunch with a group of six and from the moment we walked in were greeted with a warm welcome. Everybody enjoyed their meals and drinks. Every member of staff did a fantastic job for an our duration and I can’t wait to return.

Was having a little party for my girlfriend and we made a booking for 8 people. Over the week this grew to 20 plus guests, Jack and the team were unfazed and kept adding to the order and we all had a wonderful night, baked Camemberts, charcuterie boards, nibbles and amazing home cooked pizzas kept everyone fed and happy This is a gem of a pub that serves great food and has an attitude of what can we do to help make your day or night better rather than just say no. Well worth a visit, you will not be disappointed

Starters were lovely however one was forgotten, for mains we ordered the steak burgers which was the only nice main we recieved the other mains were the beef however staff didn't think to mention the beef was served rare but 2 of the dishes were pretty much still beating and cold 😅 aswell as we asked for a steak knife and was left waiting for about 10 minutes before we had to ask a second member of staff for it. We Ordered a side of pigs and blankets if you can even call them that it was 2 uncooked sausages on a plate of horseradish. And to top it all off a member of staff with blonde hair would not stop giving our table dirty looks which made us quite uncomfortable neither did she give out a daffodil to my mother which was made very clear that they were being given out to all mothers once paid 😠. Ridiculous!! However a staff member with dark hair working within the barn was very nice and helpful this was the only nice thing out of the experience. Found the whole meal quite disappointing which is sad as all I've heard is good reviews.

Such a lovely, warm and ambient setting especially with log fire blazing away. Our starters of soup and ham terrine with gluten free crosstini were delicious. Blade beef was divine, unfortunately the fish (and chips) was too oily for one of our liking. Both toffee pudding and pannacotta were a bit disappointing as they were either dry and on the bland side. Otherwise had a lovely evening.

Absolutely incredible. Can’t believe this place is only 10 minutes away and we didn’t know!! The dining room is very cosy and the lighting adds a great feel. The food was incredible, the service was fast and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the third time we've had lunch here. It's a half way point between four friends and we meet once or twice a year. We had a delicious lunch in the bar area and it was nice to beside a roaring fire on a chilly February day. I had the hake in cannelloni beans which was really lovely.. Friendly staff too and situated in a pretty village.

Excellent service and good. Lovely Sunday roast in a cosy setting next to the fireplace. Kids menu also great. We will come back.

I would happily highly recommend it. There were 15 of us and one guest was late, but staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The food you could not fault. Thank you to all the staff.

Such a great place to go, in the countryside and right on the door step of Althorp House. Great food, great atmosphere with friendly welcoming staff! My favourite spot for lunch, dinner or for a midday coffee/evening drinks catch-up!

My partner brought me here as a treat for my 50th birthday, as she knows I love a good pub Sunday roast. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last! The building and decor is gorgeous and very quaint inside and exceptionally clean; the staff were welcoming and friendly. The food…..absolutely delicious! We were able to have the gluten free roast and a chocolate mouse dessert and both lived up to expectations. Can’t wait to come back again for another treat Sunday lunch (or midweek meal!)….thank you!

Really want to give a 5 star as the lunch we had previously, was amazing and greatly bigged it up to friends. Our Friday night dinner with them though fell short. If I could offer advice instead of complaining? 1. Bring new cutlery after starters 2. If mains are delayed, offer a free round of drinks and bring bread or nibbles 3. If one person in the party isn’t having a starter, bring bread or nibbles, especially if mains are delayed 4. Updates on the food are always appreciated Food was great, once we got it. We will be back as we hope this was just a one off.

Went for lunch on xmas eve 2023. good service but small bowl of bland cassoulet (£16.00) with half a slice if toast (not the flatbreads advertised) was disappointing. Beer was kept well.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Although the staff are friendly and polite and the place/decor is cute and atmospheric, the food was disappointing. Considering the prices of this place, we were expecting the food to be lovely, however… the pie was dry, not a lot of meat, and had no taste/flavour and did not come with seasoned vegetables as the menu stated (just broccoli that’s it), and the Camembert did not come with grape chutney as the menu stated (a super sour cranberry sauce instead which wasn’t great). Also had to sit in my coat for the first hour as they must have thought 1 small log on a small log burner would heat up the entire restaurant and didn’t have any heating on? I would actually expect better food from a Greene king chain restaurant or something, very annoyed to have paid all this money for something bland and different to the menu!

Lovely old pub, in a gorgeoys village. We were a bit disappointed by our food however. We both had the roast lamb and found the vegetables good but the lamb a bit tough and distictly second rate. Portions were also rather miserly.

The pub was packed & the table we were offered stuck out into the gangway. It was next to a large table with family & their dog. When I said I didn’t like the table they said it was all they’d got so we left.

Due to work commitments am a frequent visitor meeting clients on different days and times during the week. Very disappointed at the lack of service behind the bar it's appalling. After waiting for 10 minutes plus I left without being served. I was not the only one!! this is not the first occasion Walking back to my car 3 members of staff including management were sitting under the canopy smoking and chatting. this seems to be a regular occurrence for staff to be on breaks at the same time I was assured previously by the manager that things would improve. Clearly this has not happened . I'll be giving the Saracens head a try. Can't recommend the bar service.

We went for lunch and ate in the restaurant shared with friends who were visiting from Leicester on Tuesday 17th. We booked a table next to the fire, it added to the ambiance so much and the lovely guy who greeted us and served us kept the stove well stocked with wood. The choice of food on the menu was good enough to suit all tastes. It was well cooked, nicely presented and very tasty. We even gave the dessert menu a test……… The 2 gents tried the Brington Bitter and claimed it to be a great pint served at the perfect temperature. Everyone goes the extra mile at the ACI

Disappointed with sunday lunch, lamb was nice, half a carrot and half a parsnip, green beans, gravy lovely cold roast potatoes, large pudding, they want you to buy veg as side dish which are expensive, i have visited before not for a long time so thought we wud give it another go as love the setting but unfortunately didnt live up to my expectation's, my friend was disappointed the her afters had pear pudding which was very small for £7.50!!, staff lovely but wud only visit for a drink again

Gorgeous old coaching in. Loved the character and service was fab. A little disappointed with the food. The kids meals were ‘ok’, my pie was not the hottest and only had a small amount of chicken in it. Seemed a very expensive meal for what it was to be honest. I’d return but probably choose something different. Lovely little seating areas and dogs welcome. Wished they’d cleared the giant cobwebs overhead.

We are locals and have used this venue many times over the years. The atmosphere is great, the staff strike that perfect balance between professional and friendly. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced, We would recommend booking in advance because it is so popular.
