Yet again the best steak, in Leamington, in the Midlands…and probably the UK.

Had the best steak I've had in a long while, it was cooked perfectly and tasty, it was very busy but staff went out there way to accommodate and fit me in

Probably the poorest service and the loudest place I’ve ever been. Booked online and when I turned up they didn’t have my booking. Ordered some drinks at the bar, barman so rude, he asked me to pay when I wasn’t sure where my drinks were. No one showed us to our table. Drunken blokes stood next us shouting. Just gave up and left. Give it a miss No one asking us to top up our drinks. Awful, would give zero stars if it was an option

I visited the restaurant recently for a Sunday roast. On arrival we provided our details and we were sat down. After about 15 minutes a member of staff came over to ask our details again, although we had already confirmed our booking on arrival. Only then were we provided with menus and waited another 15 minutes for somebody to come and take our order. Most of the time the staff did not even look in our direction of where guests were seated and spent most of their time chatting. We have been here around 3-4 times prior to this and, normally the food is amazing and I would recommend to anybody. When our food came it was ok. The sides are nice and generous portions. The meat however was dry and roast potatoes had clearly been cooked in old oil and been left out to go dry. We were then left with our finished plates for so long that I had to gain somebody’s attention to pay. We didn’t receive a bill, just told an amount and paid. Others around us were doing the same. Nobody once asked how our meal was. We were disappointed on this occasion.

Sorry but really disappointed, I find the staff really miserable, don’t engage with you at all. Popped in with my sister for a quick drink after an afternoon of shopping, so in need of a beverage. Staff all look very glum, music is shocking, I know you got get it all right, but you simply can’t go wrong with the middle of the road classics. All but 3 of the tables were reserved, and must say the seating is very uncomfortable. As with the facilities, they are awful, one of the doors in the ladies cubicle was broken, and they only have 2 and the other one had remnants in it, so clearly not cleaned regularly. And they don’t smell nice at all, but I find this with a lot of pubs, they simply don’t invest in good products and not cleaned enough. And no room sprays! Overall very disappointed. 😞

Sorry but my experience was one of don’t go back, the atmosphere was deathly, went in for drinks and the girls at the bar were really glum and unfriendly. When I asked for Tanqueray 10 gin instead of the Gordon’s it was almost roll your eyes moment. Music dire, why can’t venues just play music that’s sort of “middle of the road”, you know easy listening! Toilets awful, one door to the cubicle broken, the other cubicle dirty, and not cleaned enough so overall quite smelly, could do with some nice room sprays. Overall really disappointed.

One of the best roasts we’ve ever had, so tasty and filling. We can’t say the same for the staff though… Every time we need to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to come over and have our orders and it takes an hour to have the food ready on the table. Even if we want to order drinks from the bar, we need to wave some one to notice us. Definitely recommend the food but staff needs to get better and faster.

Sunday lunch was amazing, will be back for sure. One of the best I've had. Service was a bit slow to begin with but picked up, servers friendly and helpful.

Great food at great value. Service was perfect. We came in on a Tuesday so was not the buzziest of times but the atmosphere was still nice.

Service was amazing a lovely warm greeting as soon as we walked through the door. The waitress was really friendly and welcoming. Now the food - it was absolutely amazing, portion sizes large though for us but tasted delicious. The veg was cooked perfectly and the meat was amazing so much flavour. Definitely coming back here. Waiting staff and bar staff were efficient, attentive and friendly. The quality of the food varied but, again, the reaction to where it was sub-optimal was very good. Good choice of beers too.

Good pub for a meal or drink. Dog friendly as well. Service was very good and prompt. Good selection of drinks and food and the overall atmosphere was nice and friendly.

Proper alternative to Wingdom. The F&V wings are absolutely spot on. Smaller than wingdom but only slightly and flame grilled which gives them a totally different style. Rack of ribs was amazing, fall apart tender with a great sauce.

Nice pub, would be 5 star if wasn't so busy. People sat at/crowding bar who weren't ordering made it difficult to get served.

Can't provide feedback for food as we didn't eat. What food we saw though looked very nice. Really great place for a drink.

A cool and lively venue with a great atmosphere. We went for a family meal and were certainly not disappointed. Food was excellent and portion size was very good indeed. My tip if dining here is don’t eat during the day as the food will more than fill you up!

A Christmas drinks party with friends, we booked the standup table for 10 which was ideal at no extra cost. Good drinks choice, great decor and a lively Saturday crowd. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

Where to start? Firstly, I have never felt compelled to leave a review, but having been robbed of £30 for a two course meal (questionable) I have been converted. Set the scene, office Christmas lunch. First disappointment, nothing festive on the menu. Ok, will work through that. Second disappointment, the food served was nothing short of bland and basic. Beetroot Wellington was my choice, it was a 3" at best round puff pastry round, filled with beetroot - I could see it - but not sure what else.....bland pastry was the most I got. Third disappointment, the service was incredibly slow. 3 hours to serve a 3 course meal. Diabolical. A colleague ordered a rare steak. The fox and Vivien waiting staff don't care to learn that a steak is cooked to your liking, and when asked what steak it was that they were trying to serve him, confirmed it is "pink". This was steak, not duck .... nevertheless the steak was positively medium, not rare! I skipped a starter in favour if a dessert, given that there was a cheeseboard on offer. Yum. Or now, I stand corrected. The fact that my 5 year old nephew could have put the 3 crackers, 6 grapes, celery leaves, and 3 very slim slices of Brie, cheddar and Stilton...oh how unadventurous.....on the plate in a not dissimilar way says it all. No butter but plenty of chutney. Never have I eaten cheese with chutney and no crackers ......but I have now!! ......awww bless. Maybe this pub is for the pretentious, but it's not for someone expecting good food and to spend their money well.

No problem, he said, took my name, and said all was good for an 8 PM booking. I have lived for many years in Leamington, but never eaten at this lace. I saw some nice comments about it recently on one of the local online groups, so decided to give it a try. WHAT A MISTAKE! We arrived on time, the place was moderately busy but not crowded, and after attracting the attention of two female staff in heavy conversation at the far end of the room, we were seated, drink orders taken, and the menus provided. We chose from it, waited 15 minutes, and then managed to get someone to come and take our order. Two NY Strips plus various extras. We then waited. And waited. After a further 45 minutes, at 9 PM, we persuaded one of the staff girls to come to the table. She said they were busy and it would be another 20 minutes. We told her to cancel our order, because we were leaving. We paid for our drinks, I told the girl firmly but politely ,of our disgust, and that I would be in touch both with the management and on social media. No apology was offered. We left, our evening totally ruined. Frankly, in all my long life I have only walked out of a restaurant a couple of times. Your treatment of two new, local customers interested in this much-touted restaurant was simply disgraceful. I

Very disappointed. Was part of a party on Friday night for the Christmas menu. Food was excellent but it was like eating in a fridge! I appreciate it was a very cold evening on Friday but the pub was freezing. It was far too cold to comfortably eat dinner . I ate my dinner with my coat on. Food was excellent but had to wait a hour in between each course . Mentioned how cold it was to the staff several times no heating was on in the pub and no apology. It came highly recommended but won’t be returning. It was like eating a dinner in a walk in fridge

Delicious Sunday lunch with good ingredients, everything cooked perfectly. Great front of house team excellent too and extremely good value.

My second visit as my friend Andy McBride lives locally we were a group of guys x 5 we had the ribs and chicken wings etc the place was absolutely buzzing great music amazing food and service I can’t wait to come back again this month a big thank you to Tom who looked after us he was so knowledgeable and fun we had the best time it has live music leamington its mega 😜

Nice pub and restaurant, it was clean and inviting. I decided to get a meal and was it a good decision. The burger was delicious and cooked beautifully. The staff was friendly and the toilets were clean. Would recommend for a meal and drinks. 👍

Great beer and loads of screens to watch sport!

We went to see a crucial world cup game (England Argentina) but whilst the screens were showing it, there was no sound. What's the point?

Went for dinner & the food was amazing. We had steak and different sides it was cooked to perfection. You can take dogs too which is a bonus.

Very slow service. Roast beef was pink with loads of fat. Staff not interested. Much nicer places - New Inn, White Lion, The Moorings - one of our party was under the weather and we asked if we could buy a meal and take it home. They said they had run out of boxes?? Said if you plate one up I will bring the plate back in the morning- wouldn’t do it - very snobby place.

Had the lamb Sunday lunch last week the meat was lean beautifully cooked, actually crisp roast potatoes not always case at most places. Good selection of vegetables roasted roots, cabbage with peas mixed plus leaks in lovely cream sauce. Only slight down was Yorkshire pudding was too crispy for me but just personal taste. All to together we looking forward to a return

We were visiting the area for just one night and spotted this place on TripAdvisor so thought we'd give it a go. Our initial impression was a very busy and loud pub but then we were guided to our table upstairs which was a completely different atmosphere. Beautiful decor and nice ambiance. The food was the best we have had anywhere in such a long time. The garlic sourdough was very tasty and we highly recommend the steak and the chicken burger. The prices were about the same as everywhere these days but at least it was worth the money unlike many other places we have visited recently. The only negative is that we live too far away to visit again any time soon. Highly recommend.

Sorry to say all the hand pump beers were off. There wasn't any dark rum. Can not rate the pub. Will try again. See can leave a positive review

We went for a family birthday party and the atmosphere was great. No great real ales but the cider was good, food tasty and staff brilliant

1st class service, food & proper beer to drink, not just pale ale and larger, so all good there. The not so good, the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat on, the bars on the backrest cut into your buttcheeks, my wife had bruises. Also such a loud environment, deafening! Could really do with some sound absorbing material, we were literally shouting across the table to be heard, otherwise all good… 😁

6 friends for a 7 pm table … from the moment we arrived - genuinely excellent service - it continued throughout the whole evening . Drinks outside … asked if we would like to order outside and go in when the meal was ready ? Perfect service . Every part of everyone’s meal was simply outstanding ! Meals that varied from fillet steak, rib eye ,, wings through to superb vege burger . Everyone said that it was amongst the best we have had anywhere . Side dishes including blue cheese wedge, caprese salad and truffle Parmesan fries were all excellent . Prices were reasonable and definitely value for money . An all round superb meal and outstanding subtle service . 👌👌

Can’t go wrong with the BBQ ribs and chips from here! Decent spot to watch the football as well.

Lovely place, friendly staff. It's veeery popular though so if you want food, be sure to book well in advance. If you're just after a well made drink, you can walk-in most of the time. They're currently re-doing their cocktail list but can make most of the classics on request for ~£9 a go, worth the money because they make them strong! I recommend the Espresso Martini for both a good coffee and alcohol hit!

Our favorite place in leamington spa , especially service and food. It’s busy however staff are always great and do their upmost best to make a great experience.

Very busy on a Saturday night, so it was a good job we had booked. It had a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly and hard working. All 4 of us had burgers and they were very tasty.

Astonishingly good meal. This place does a steak meal that will blow your socks off, as good as any I have had in the top NY spots and I would say the best one I have ever had in UK\Europe. I had the T-Bone and my wife the fillet, with a bottle of wine. We skipped the starters so it took a little while for the food to arrive, which makes absolute sense as it's all prepared fresh as can be and clearly the meat is rested beautifully. We had a drink and enjoyed each others company while waiting. And I assure you, the meal here is worth waiting twice as long for. The service is top notch too, very relaxed and informal but it's on point. I cannot rave about the Fox and Vivien enough to all my friends and family!

We recently held my daughters 21st party in the fabulous function room above the pub . Chris and the team were very helpful throughout , and helped to make the whole event seamless and stress free .

We had a Sunday roast in aid of Mother's day. The food was absolutely lovely, beef was melt in the mouth & veggies were to due for. There was a vegetarian option on the menu but no info regarding dietary issues, none of the staff asked if there were any food items which need to be avoided. Also, one of the ladies toilet cubicles was almost impossible to get in to without twisting & contorting. So, 3 stars for the quality of food & service.

Sunday roast absolutely outstanding

Had a Sunday lunch here, a nice meal with good vegetables. However, we waited an hour for our food to arrive. The service was somewhat haphazard, friendly but not very attentive. Would advise booking to eat earlier in the day.

Now I know that title is a very bold statement to make but myself and my partner have eaten steak all over the world in many countries, fillets, Chateaubriand, Wagyu fillets and nowhere beats The Fox and Vivian which is right on our door step! We always order our favourite Fillet steak with Truffle & Parmesan fries which are also the best! The sides of pop corn shrimp and the Mac and cheese croquettes are a must also! If you go here to eat, you have to go all in! :-D You also get a very generous portion of the sauce of your choice. The service has always been great, the chefs are trained to a high standard to deliver the high quality of food every time. We had an amazing fillet steak on The Palm of Dubai which was very expensive but it still didn't quiet beat The Fox and Vivian. Highly recommend and I advise to pre book.

Lovely atmosphere but shocking customer service. We went to this pub in two occasions as we wanted to give it a second chance, so we went last night but ended up being served by the same very rude young lad who was notoriously disgusted by having to serve customers. We were not drunk, rude or demanding but his actitud was that bad that we didn’t want to order another round so we don’t annoy the guy and we just left. This is not the first time it happens either with the same member of the staff so that’s why sadly we won’t be back.

Excellent customer service. Lovely atmosphere. Incredibly accommodating staff, very pleasant and helpful. Interesting menu, I went for the burger. It was one of the best I've ever had in uk. Bearing in mind, I live in London where we have a wide range of burger places, and I'm very fussy when it comes to red meat. this was high-quality meat, cooked at perfection. Yummy bun, great sauce. I went for the first one on the menu, Wagu, Japanese meat, SO yummy. Great quality malbec on the glass too, which is always a bonus, and they have oil neck which would be my next option. Highly recommend this place

This was high on our to do list after moving to Leamington following recommendations. Love the atmosphere - casual pub, nice friendly vibe and it’s dog friendly. All big ticks. Had the house rose which was lovely. Fizzy coke (which is so rare in pubs now a days) but more importantly, the food - we both went for rib eye and my god were they good. Cooked to perfection, so tasty - steaks came with chips, mushroom and broccoli all cooked to perfection. knock out 10/10 meal, and I’ve paid double the price before for meals that were nowhere near as good. I’ll be back soon!

We have just had a fantastic evening celebrating my mums birthday. We went as a family and they were fantastic with the kids and amazing with the birthday girl! I have heard lots of amazing things about the Fox and Vivian and decided to give it a try as have heard they do the best steak in town! It’s true! They really do! The burgers were fantastic also. So much food, really get a lot for your money. My husband was particularly impressed with the “abundance of peppercorn sauce”!!!!! The staff are super friendly and very attentive. Great atmosphere but relaxed also. We will definitely be returning as it was such good value for the amount of food and drink we had.

Group of us with the football being promised upstairs. TV didn't work so half the party watched the football and half stayed upstairs. Could have been resolved or at least told about but manager/owner pouring/drinking beers without serving anyone else. Heard good things about this place but not this time.

Went during a work function, staff were great as was the food. The function room was slightly smaller than I'd expected and they closed it earlier than they'd said but beyond that it was good.

Decent meat pub with a lively atmosphere and dark décor

Had a family party yesterday for my sisters 70th, organised by my eldest niece. We had the whole of upstairs to ourselves, no restrictions didn't order food till about 3pm(although 1.30 / 2pm was originally arranged) we were left to our own device's. But when we were ready staff were efficient, prompt and polite." BEST SUNDAY ROAST IVE EVER HAD IN A RESTAURANT ". Took a doggy bag(which wasn't frowned on, as I so many other establishment,s). Zero stars if I could! Went in for a lunchtime drink with my partner and her daughter after some shopping at the Christmas markets Firstly I’d like to state that all three of us have worked in the hospitality industry, my partner even ran her...

The food was great, so why 2 stars? So many mistakes. Bringing out 5 medium steaks just casually saying “we did them all the same” despite none being medium, constantly bringing the wrong food for our group, and the whole setup felt like a money grab last night with the focus on the football game but we’ll still take your money for your group meal. Barely any table service, and also the table was ok for 8 ppl max but we had 10, resulting in spillages aplenty including my £60 shirt getting ruined. All this would be ok if you don’t command top prices, but you set your bar high then so do I.
