Do not go here!! Nobody in restaurant when we arrived Waited 45 minutes for frozen chicken that was like jelly in the middle, onion rings were cut in really old fat, kids pasta was swimming in the water it had been cooked in - worse meal I’ve ever had in all my life

Buena comida y servicio.

From Australia, my husband and I were taken here for Sunday Lunch by locals from Sheffield.. Superb traditional country Inn for delicious traditional Yorkshire fare! Roast beef and pudding to DIE for, with splendid greens we had been sorely missing.. An absolute TREAT!! Treat yourselves!! 🍷🌅😍

spot on for the money. Hubby and I had a roast on Sunday and it was really lovely. I had turkey and beef with all the veg and he had beef and ham. Both where great. This is basic food but really tasty. No frills but ya don't always want fancy do ya.

Our family four generations & age range 88 to 2 meet here most Sundays for a carvery. Easy access for mums wheel chair to pub and disability toilet. The carvery is a choice of three meats, Yorkshire pudding, roast, mash & new potato's. Cauliflower cheese, stuffing, roast parsnips, broccoli carrot, peas & gravy. A good plate full and we never leave hungry. High chairs provided and a dish for a baby is given when asked. Drinks are reasonably priced and usually have one local real ale on draught. TVs scattered round the pub for the followers of sport. Volume can be a little high some times when we are trying to chat. Nothing fancy but had a lot worse else where for a much higher price. Plenty of room and usually not too busy with eaters when we are there 12.30pm. Booking needed for mothers/fathers day

Good deals on meals, but they stop serving food at 2pm. Take your own ketchup as theirs is rank. Don't think they have free Wifi. The beer wasn't overpriced and has a few outdoor benches and kids play area outside which with a bit of work could be made much nicer. The music was really random from pop to motown and not really loud enogh to hear just not loud enough to not be annoying.

Now, I know going for a cheap (£3.50) carvery can be a hit and miss experience but unfortunately the food here left a lot to be desired. Two meat choices (as opposed to the advertised three) both cut with the same electric knife, not sure you're supposed to do that, and tinned peas, cauliflower, boiled carrots and potatoes all sat in water. Yorkshire puds (presumably bought in) and roast potatoes were ok. Nice enough surroundings I guess and the staff were ok but we Won't be back I'm afraid.

Went here for food and drinks with friends, the service behind the bar was very friendly. It seems to be a very well run family pub and would recommend it to anyone. Fresh food for as little as £3.00 and drinks most £2.00 you cant go wrong! It was one of the nicest meals I have had in a pub, I normally pay £10 per meal for crap food.

Went here with some friends for tea. Place was pretty quiet so we thought service would be efficient. How wrong we were. Staff didn't want to know when we went to bar. They seemed to be preoccupied with their friends and phones. One member of staff walked straight past when at the bar to talk to a friend. Had to shout someone from the kitchen to serve and place order. Upon receiving our meals, the girl serving the meals brought them out one by one. Not sure why, but surely she could manage to bring two meals out at the same time??? 2 people ordered the fish, but the fish seemed sparse; 98% of it was batter. 1 person had steak. This was tough like leather. The other person had scampi and this was the only meal where there wasn't really anything to complain about. Not once did anyone come over to ask if everything was ok whilst we were eating our meal. Upon finishing and when the person came to clear out places only then did they ask. When we informed her of our experience, she seemed a little taken aback, but didn't offer any way of explanation or offer to feed our comments back. Yes it may seem cheap and it may have been an off day. But when we were the only 4 people having food and maybe 3 or 4 people just having drinks, it's not as though they were rushed off their feet so not as to provide a decent service. Sorry, but that's just my experience.

Waiter gave us a menu and explained the process for ordering etc very promptly. Young lady behind the coffee bar took my order nicely and asked me to wait for the coffee for me to take to our table. No problem with that. However, whilst waiting, the initial girl and the other girl barista chatted very loudly, no rush to make my drinks. They were discussing a story between them and we're swearing f***ING loudly and persistently in front of me and other customers . Unaware this is not a great experience.

We heard that the Angel Inn had re-opened under new management, and that the pub had been given a make-over and were now doing really good food - so we thought we would go and check it out! We went along mid-afternoon on Thursday 25th January, 2024, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, a nice, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Louise the manager, who we took-to immediately, is so enthusiastic and passionate about running a good pub. They have a wide range of drinks and the menu although limited at present, is set to be extended, and they do Sunday lunch. The chef, an ex-army chef but with lots of civilian experience in restaurants too, is also passionate about providing great, home-made food. We very much liked the look of things, so we booked for Sunday lunch - we went along on Sunday 28th January - the food did not disappoint! We had a choice of beef, pork or chicken, or we could have some of each. The plate came out with the meat, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, along with it came a large dish of vegetable and a gravy boat. As promised, everything was home-made, cooked from scratch and as we expected, totally delicious! Then came dessert, we all had treacle sponge with custard, but there was a choice of jam sponge, apple crumble or cheese-cake, - home made, and it too was delicious!, and all at a reasonable price - well worth it! We will be back - but we are also going to go along mid-week and check out their menu offers - they are going to be getting wine and drinks offers too - what more could you want! 👍😁.

The Rutland Arms is an absolute GEM! I would move to Sheffield just to be close to this amazing pub. Food was AMAZING. Great selection of beers and punters too! And the staff were very friendly. We will be back!
