Had a fantastic meal here today, nothing was too much trouble. Really friendly staff and the food was delicious. For a chain pub they really excell I will definitely be back soon. Hopefully the sun will be shining so I can experience their large garden.

The nachos made me sad to be alive. Lovely cosy looking pub inside, nice people, but the nachos were as bad as they get. It was like someone took a bag of smart price nacho crisps, dumped em on a plate and then got one of those £1 pack of 4 mexican dips and dropped that on the top. The salsa tasted like ketchup. The sour cream tasted like yoghurt. There was a tiny amount of plastic cheese and guacamole that tasted of green. It felt like it was made by someone who had just done their GCSE in home economics. No decent IPA at the bar either. It was that bad we drove back to the previous petrol station for a bag of crisps after.

This is our second stay at the pub/hotel, and we will continue to visit every time we are taking a flight from Bristol. Customer service was top notch. We were quickly dealt with and given our keys to our room, and booked a table for dinner. The room was spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed! Tv, sofa and storage for clothes etc. We were in a front room, and there was a little bit of road noise but not enough to bother us at all! We also had dinner in the pub, it was of good standard and kept us full until the morning. All in all, a great stay! We look forward to coming back agai (hopefully soon)!

When we arrived we were advised that the menu was seriously depleted due to a delay with the deliveries.We chose 2 meals which were available and they arrived promptly, which, as it turned out, too prompt.The pies were cold! To the staffs credit the meals were replaced and the manager apoligised.Everything was very good from then on.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly and happy staff, the food was lovely and good value. Lots of choice for vegetarians. Plenty of parking.

This used to be a nice pub for a pre flight meal, unfortunately they had all tables reserved due to their new system so stuck us on a table we didn't like ( I like to pick my own table!) food was ok but pricey for what it was, wine was like water. Won't be visiting this pub en route again. Very disappointed.

Proper country pub, beautiful location, fantastic balcony/huge garden overlooking exquisite countryside. Great selection of pub grub classics at very reasonable prices. Hearty, delicious food (generous portions too), relaxed atmosphere, service with a smile. As Arnie said: "I'll be back."

Took the family to celebrate Mother’s birthday. Fab meal, great staff. Lovely old style pub close to the airport. Great value for money.

18/05/24 Booked a table as staying close by before our flight the next day. Carpark was busy but managed to get a space as it’s also used for the rooms upstairs. Need to put car registration in the iPad on arrival (wasn’t working on this particular day) Bar area was busy on arrival really nice friendly barman. Charming looking pub and nice and clean. Husband has lasagne he said it was very nice. I had the cowboy burger everything was nice but burger could have done with a couple minutes less it was a little tough not inedible just preference, Nice pint 🍺 Will return on our next holiday.

Wonderful food, very well priced. The staff are always very welcoming. Thank you. We are regulars ... and of course will be back.

We dine here every time we fly from Bristol. Been here many, many times and wouldn't go anywhere else. Wonderful welcome for everyone who walks through the door. Great food too. Summertime, the garden is great too.

We stayed on a Friday evening and had supper. Literally as soon as we walked in, the welcome was so friendly, it really makes such a difference. Check in was quick and efficient, the room was very comfortable and dinner was delicious. It's very much classic pub food done really well, and every member of staff that we spoke to was lovely and helpful. Great experience.

The Gluten free Menu was quite varied with a good choice of sweets. Great stop before or after visiting the Airport

Great start to our trip. Visited as a large family group to eat before continuing to Bristol Airport. Great food and reasonably priced. Staff were attentive but not overbearing and did not rush us to leave. Food was great for the price and was served promptly despite the large table size. We will be returning as a couple next year and staying overnight due to the excellent service received. The weather was awful the day we visited but the outside area looks like it would be great on a sunny day.

Went with a friend for lunch. Very bright, warm and welcoming. Lovely friendly staff. Good menu, great food and good coffee.

We came as party of 17, nothing was too much trouble with everything prompt, hot and good quality. Main meals and deserts ordered by everyone, with guests who came from all different parts of the country and expressed how good the meals were and how the pub accommodated us. Huge thanks to Becky, James, Kirsty, Lily, Tom & Zach who made the day special. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Stayed at the Fox and Goose overnight before collecting a colleague from Bristol airport. Location could not be better, 5 minutes from the airport and very easy to find and park. James was very welcoming after my 5 hour journey and check in was smooth and efficient. Paige was a great host and the food and service were excellent. My room was a little noisy overnight ....but what do you expect from a hotel on a main road so close to an aiport. It did not detract from the experience. Breakfast was hearty and well cooked. A special thanks to Ally for her attention and her bubbly personality...just what was needed before a long day's work!

Excellent service on both occasions we used the pub. Friendly, according and very hood food indeed. Will be visiting again for sure.

Not only was the food good and the staff lovely but one of them had gone through the separate gluten free menu that they had and had listed all the ones that were dairy free before I arrived. Great service!

What a lovely afternoon I had with my family to celebrate my brothers 50th birthday, at the fox and goose Sunday, James, Rachel, becki, kirsty, Tom and Ellie made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble and with the help of Rachel my mum was able to eat out with us due to years of mouth pain and restrictions on what she can eat, Rachel was able to accommodate from the menu and we can't thank Rachel and the team enough for a most enjoyable afternoon and what amazing food thank you again to James, Rachel, Becki, Kirsry, Tom and Ellie for looking after us so well , we will be back thank you, best wishes emma 😊

Lovely place and very friendly staff. I booked in advance online, which was easy. I had Fish & Chips which was fabulous. My friend had Chicken Burger, which she said was lovely. Will deffo go again. We have been a few times over the years but yesterday's was the best meal.

Wanted a nice relaxed place for dinner with friends. The pub is busy with lots of large families and people using Bristol airport. Order drinks and food at the bar. Food was really nice - Wings and Ribs sharing platter to start, then selection of mains and followed by dessert. Staff are very friendly.

What a joke four of us booked a table arrived in good time 7pm for 7.30pm at this point everything went down hillThis was supposed to be there special steak night but we were informed that steak was not on the menu myself I wanted to leave straight away how can you advertise a steak night but have no steak what a joke My companions were all unhappy but as it was now getting in for time they decided we should stay and choose something else off the menu another joke it turns out as around half the choices had been scribbled through as off the menu bear in mind this is for a 7pm evening meal I’m still not happy about it are all these good reviews I’ve read lies then In the end I decided as the others were staying I chose gammon steak with eggs Another joke as when it arrived the gammon steak was so small you could not see it under the two crispy fried eggs What a disaster I could go on about the rest of the good as well but I am just getting angrier as I write a massive breach of trade description whoever is calling themselves a chef in this pubThe only saving grace about the evening was the bar and waiting staff they were brilliant I am very interested to see wether the management answers this review I was really upset and as it was one of the parties birthdays my mood by your poor quality and supply of food was not a good night for them Unless you give me some sensible answers it is very unlikely we would ever return people can always have a bad night but it really is a joke to advertise and let people book then them them when they arrive that half the menus is scribbled out in pen Unhappy customer

Had a lovely couple of nights stay,our room was spacious and clean, no wi-fi but our mobile signal was good, very warm room and with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was really good, set us up for the day, we also had an evening meal, which again was very good, and a bargain for the price. We had a wonderful welcome, which continued throughout our stay, thank you.

We visited the fox and goose on a 1 night stay whilst in the area and had the best value 8oz sirloin steak I have had for many a year with all the trimmings for £11.45 each! I tried to say thank you to the staff by buying them a drink but they politely declined my offer.

We stayed here just one night to break up a long drive to Devon. Having read the reviews, I'd asked for a quiet room, and we were really disappointed to find a busy road was directly in front of the room. However, the room was spacious, clean and well equipped ... the only thing was that we couldn't open the window due to the traffic noise which meant it was rather stuffy.We ate at the restaurant on the evening and the food was good. We also had breakfast and both agree that it was one of the best breakfasts we've had - really enjoyed it.The cost of the room, including breakfast was very reasonable. All the staff were very friendly and polite and the room was great. Highly recommended.

We stopped off today on our way back from the beach. We were allowed to sit on the decking with our dog which was a big plus to us! The lady who served us was very friendly and it felt very Covid safe. We all had burger and chips and were very happy with our meals. Thanks very much!

Found this online when searching for somewhere to stay for mini break and not disappointed. We were in room 9 which has its own access. The room is a lovely size with a very comfortable double bed. There is a bit of a slope in the bathroom to be aware of but otherwise absolutely fine. The property is on a main road so there is a bit of road noise at night but never found it a problem. They do a cooked breakfast which is ordered the day before and cater for gluten free which was excellent. Continental choices are a bit more limited. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed overnight here on our way down to weymouth. Our room was lovely. Very comfy bed 🛌. Had a meal in the restaurant which was really nice. Would def come back here.

A warm welcome was given to two hungry (and rather muddy) cyclists. The large garden was well set up with lots of tables, and we enjoyed our lunch. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and it all felt very Covid-safe.

Very nice warm and welcoming place and atmosphere. Staff really friendly and helpful, especially Molly our waitress who was super friendly. Food good and deserts were lovely. We will be back!

Stopped on our way home for a meal, staff were welcoming and friendly, the service was quick and efficient. Food arrived piping hot and was very tasty we both had the steak and mushroom pie. There were hand sanitisers at the entrance and outside the toilets. Our overall impression of the hotel was that it was well kept and clean, a future destination to stay if we visit this area in the future. For the following questions we did not stay over night so cannot comment.

Good food. Lack of choice, had to have my fourth choice. No lasagne, no bolognese, no pie. Only 4.30 so don’t know what would be left for evening as all tables booked.

For a chain pub serving the classics we couldn't fault the Fox and Goose. The covid distancing and cleanliness was top notch, the staff friendly and polite. The food arrived promptly, was well cooked, even a rare steak, and we all enjoyed our meals.

Stayed for 4 nights while exploring the area. The room was warm and the staff were welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, especially as my partner had certain dietary needs. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meals we had were delicious. We used the nearby Long Ashton P&R to get into the city centre, only 10min drive away.

We fancied eating out for Sunday dinner and didn’t want a carvery so we gave the Fox and Goose a chance. Sunday dinner is a fixed price for either two or three courses. We went for two courses and chose prawn cocktail for a starter. The prawn cocktail was as good as I have had at any pub. The choice for mains are beef, half chicken and pork, or you can pay extra for lamb.We chose chicken. Once again for a pub lunch chicken dinner it was pretty good. Chicken was cooked well and not dry. Veg not amazing but not bad.Service was ok through meal. Would return and eat Sunday dinner here again.

Visited recently for lunch with friends and ordered from the good-value lunchtime menu. Food was first class, service good and the surroundings superb - very cosy and warm. Will definitely be returning in the future.

We travelled from Cornwall to the airport. Brother in law also joined us from Crowthorne. I booked a table for lunch for 1200. I checked on google opening times which were from 1100. We got there at 1115 a party of 4 adults and small child. We attempted entry but were told very firmly that they did not open until 1200. This despite showing 1100 on google and on their own board outside the pub. We went elsewhere. So if you aspire to get Ryanair levels of service go here and meet with Basil Fawlty’s relatives. Another vehicle waiting in the car park got the picture and went elsewhere too. Maybe they don’t need your business ! I can’t recommend ! A little courtesy and an offer to sit in and use their facilities, and wait until 1200 maybe with a coffee would have been what quality service would look like !

Spent an afternoon with friends; nice meal, pleasant atmosphere. Food plentiful, maybe a bit rustic, but quality fine. Car Park quite adequate, but a bit tricky to get out of if heading towards Bristol. Would certainly go again if in the area.

We had an early flight out of Bristol Airport and decided to stay nearby the night before to save the stress of an early morning drive to reach the airport. We are so glad we picked to stay here and would definitely do it again as we have often had an excellent meal here on the way to a flight and so knew the place as a pub/restaurant but not used the accommodation facility.The room was perfect and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Cooked breakfast at 7am too was perfect and set us up for our flight and saved us buying an overpriced breakfast at the airport.Direct booking was easy and at a price of £63 was great value. The staff here were very helpful and efficient so altogether it's a great place to stay.

What a load of crap -;steak tough - chips cold - cold plates onion rings probably cooked last week and heated up - normally eat at stag and hounds so thought fox and goose being the same brewery would. Be equally as good - stag and hounds 100%. Betters half the price at stag and hounds - will never eat there again - eat out many times a week in same area - worst ever meal. - No stars!

The Fox and Goose is good place for an evening meal if staying near Bristol airport for an early flight. We each enjoyed a delicious minted lamb steak at a reasonable price. It’s a popular pub, especially for meals out, but I was disappointed that the only draught beer on offer (apart from lager) was Hobgoblin, a dark ruby beer not to everyone’s taste. The pub is one of Marston’s who own numerous breweries making very many different beers but none of the others were available, not even Pedigree.

Visited after dropping car off at b&b before flying to kefalonia . Lovely welcome good beer and wine good excellent! Tall blonde lady served us our food and drink was excellent owners should be glad they got staff that care will reccomend for anyone flying from bristol airport thank you !

Came here for dinner the night before flying out of Bristol Airport, staying nearby so seemed like a good place to eat. Food arrived within a reasonable time despite being advised it could take up to 45 minutes. Hot and tasty and we headed out with full bellies. And then the fun began...

Use the Fox and Goose regularly, firm favourite of all the family at the moment. Booked a meal for 15 on Sunday 25th at 6 pm. Advised pre-order as stock runs low on a bank holiday. Order came out perfectly correct even though we changed one of the orders quite late the night before and enjoyed by all. Staff were attentive even though they were really busy.

Booked at table and when we arrived the table hadn’t been booked. Order fish and chips. The fish was over cooked and greasy. You could have bounced it off the floor. Chips were cold and so were the peas. We then sat there for an hour with the plates on our table. Disgusted and won’t go again. Avoid

Stopped in our way home from the airport and was disappointed to be honest the menu looks lovely but the food was all instant food not cooked fresh I had the pie, mash and veg, the mash is just powdered mash the pie was the hardest pastry I've ever encountered and the wifes tikka masala was a microwave one it was not what we were looking for at all

Called by on way home from Bristol airport. Only 5mins from airport. Nice little pub, variety on the menu. Nice staff. Nice food, reminded me of weatherspoons / marstons. Reasonable prices.

Stayed 2 nights for a family wedding and the main problem was the noise from the main A38 as we had room at front and despite being the warmest weekend of the year we couldn't have window open, and being a very old building no air con in the rooms.. BUT this isn't the hotels fault.

Went with the intention of having a family meal before going to hotel. Only 2 staff behind the bar, 1 of which was taking only food orders. Spent 20 mins trying to get served a drink, sat outside down at the grass area. Went to order food after 10 min wait, only to be told they dont serve food to that table, even though it had a table number. Drank up and went to another pub a mile down the road for an excellent home made meal. If they had more staff serving then it could've been much better

Omg I've never ever had such a bad meal in life. I started with halloumi cheese. It was so thinly cut and salty - I couldn't taste anything except fried cardboard covered in salt. My chicken pie, looked like dog vomit and if that's what dog vomit tastes like I know now. Cold mash and gloopy gravy. Please avoid until they sort their food out!

Stayed locally before heading off from Bristol airport. The food was atrocious starter king press bland and the 28 day rib eyes tasteless.

Very friendly staff, food was lovely and the service was even better, we have visited twice now and each time we have had a lovely greeting as soon as you get there, the garden is nice but did not use it on this occasion.

Ordered two roast beef dinners, parsnips under cooked, only veg broccoli and a bit of mixed carrots/swede, beef had more vessels and fat than meat. Waited so long for plates to be removed, did it ourselves and then had to ask for our dessert. Won’t be going back!

Nice garden, but very poor food. I had fish & chips (over £9). Very small piece of over cooked fish in dark brown batter with tasteless chips, some of which must have been in the pan from last frying as were greasy & dark in colour & rock hard. My partner had burger & chips, his was no better with over cooked burger & the same poor chips, won’t be returning☹️

After a tiring day, we wanted an early dinner. We hadn't booked, but they fitted us in easily for later in the evening. Seated near the door to the patio area, we could enjoy the view. We opted for starters and mains. These arrived relatively quickly and we enjoyed these with an ice cold drink! Black pudding hash cakes, smoked haddock tart and both of us opted for meat pies: the mighty meat and potato pie and steak cheese and pedigree ale pie. Lovely and filling, and as the rain had stopped, we could sit outside to enjoy some of the evening finishing our drinks.

Nice setting, staff not interested in non-locals. Locals prioritised over visitors. Sloppy management.

Were seated in the raised area close to an open log fire. Varied menu. Food and drink reasonably priced served by really nice staff.

Called on way to airport and had the roast lamb dinner. Worst Sunday dinner I've ever had. Roast potatoes had a horrible taste the cheesy cauliflower was all mushed up like baby food, lamb overdone and gravy like water. We waited an hour which was fine as we had been told when ordering it would take that long but expected it to be nice. Def won't be back!!!

We called in on our way to the airport. We had an hour or so to kill until it was time to pick up our daughter so stopped off for a coffee. However when we saw the food being brought out we decided to partake. Delicious! Very friendly staff.

Fantastic place. Staff lovely. Nothing too much trouble. Came as two couple and they made sure we had room close which is rare for hotels.

Booked table in advance on line which was nice. Travelled as a family and called in for lunch prior to flight as we have done before, the standard and staff has improved immensely. Was very impressed with the helpfulness of all the staff, location was full for time of day so glad I booked, garden was very impressive with its deco and views. Food arrived prompt and must say we all enjoyed, will be returning soon.

We popped in for a light meal en route to the airport. Decent menu including light platters which were good and reasonable value too. It also has the advantage of a nice beer garden should the weather be kind as it was on this occasion. The airport is less than ten minutes away.

Prior to our flight to Crete, we decided to skip the souless hotel atmosphere and food , and ventured out to a local pub, the bar staff are friendly and welcoming , the food was fine and they had a varied menu, the garden was lovely to sit in as the sun went down , all in all we enjoyed our visit.

My boyfriend & I were staying at the Town & Country lodge for the night before our holiday, we had travelled from Exeter, we had been on a strict holiday diet for months & decided to reward ourselves with some “tasty” food. The pub looked appealing, with beautiful hanging flower baskets outside. We looked up the menu online and everything sounded exciting and tasty, so we chose to treat ourselves and eat there.

Unfortunately the staff don't know what they're doing. Incredibly inefficient. Unbelievable wait for food. It's a pity as it is a great location and could have so much potential. From the outside it has promise but unfortunately delivers nothing.

If one is looking for a good nights sleep, not the place to go. On main road with traffic all through the night. Staff helpful. The plumbing in my en suite was so noisy as to be laughable

Good food, pleasant staff, reasonable prices. I would recommend this place for a pre flight meal. I had a lovely homemade pie which was very enjoyable. Hubby had gammon which was very nice too.

As the title says we visited here today as it was a beautiful sunny day and we remembered it had a nice decked area and garden. We got a table on the decking and ordered food. They really could do with some umbrellas as there were none anywhere and the sun was beating down, yes we could have gone inside but it’s a shame to do that on such a nice day. The food came, 1 steak, 1 burger and 1 chicken/steak combo. Verdict was bang average, my chicken was over cooked and as reported on the menu it was half a chicken!! Well it must have been one small chicken.

Stayed one night on the way to Bristol Airport. It was easy to find and to get to. Car parking was good, and rooms were clean and comfortable, if a little dated. The restaurant served a good range of standard pub fayre, which was cooked to a decent standard. The staff were very friendly, and the manager very helpful. Please be aware that the rates are advertised as B&B;, but breakfast doesn't start until 9.00am, if you gave an early flight as we did, then there's no breakfast option. Still great value for money, and will use again!

Stayed here last week to go racing at Wincanton. We got a lovely large room which was spotless & very comfy bed .Had a meal in the bar after the racing & it was excellent,great value for the 2 steaks .Unfortunately had to leave very early in the morning for a flight so missed the breakfast .Staff all very pleasant & will definitely stay again .

We were here in December (review below) and had a very good experience. Based on that, we decided to re-visit for a pre-Mothering Sunday treat for mother in law (we had to travel home on Sunday itself). We went early - just before 7pm - and were able to get a table for 3 without having booked.

Went here for lunch (party of 4) Wed 14th Feb 2018. Not a first visit, been here before with Ok results on food, but nothing special. However this visit was a bit of a disaster, 3 cod and chips (the menu said 'fish and chips') checked pre order that it was cod. What seemed and age, waiting about 35 mins from time of order to table delivery, and it was luke warm, and the cod had been overcooked, as shown by the really dark colour of the batter. I like crispy, but not tooth breaking crispy!. All three portions were the same. Shame. Chef obviously has not pride in his work, this should have been binned and re-done. We spent £40 on 3 substandard meals.

My family had our mothers wake here and everyone was very happy with the way we were treated. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the buffet we ordered was very good and we had no complaints at all. I would like to thank you for your excellent service and will be happy to recommend you to any one.

We, had not booked for a family of 8 incl 3 young children, early Friday evening to have meal before going to Bristol Airport. A very helpful landlady (I think) asked although they were fully booked, would we be happy to sit around a couple of tables. There was a wide selection of pub food from a very reasonable priced favourites menu to the full menu. We selected meals from both, everyone was very happy with the speed of service and the quality of the food plus the total bill was very reasonable.

Booked a very last minute pre-Christmas family meal (24hrs notice) and the only available table was for 6 (there were 7 of us) but I agreed we could squeeze in. On arrival, they had kindly added another small table on the end, so we had plenty of room. Staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing, and the food was universally good. We were left with time to chat but not so long as to feel we were waiting for our food to arrive. We've been having these meet-ups for 20 years and this was one of the nicest.

Despite being very busy, a table was cleared for us and we were made very welcome. Asked about a booking later in the month for 10 of us and the location of the relevant b & b (bearing in mind they "do" rooms here - we're only using the b & b for airport parking, but they didn't know that initially) the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
