Food arrived promptly, great communication with restaurant and food was amazing. Not too greasy, couldn’t fault any of our dishes

We visited on a Thursday evening without pre booking and there was no problem getting a table. The staff were very attentive and polite. We decided to have the buffet deal which was £24.50 and you could eat as much as you like. This was a good deal as it allowed us to try a variety of dishes which came in sensibly sized portions. As it was our first visit the staff explained everything clearly which was a great help. The food was all very well presented and came piping hot. The starters were all great and the chilli and salt spare ribs were especially tasty. The main courses again came in sensibly sized portions and if more than one of us ordered a particular dish we were offered the option of individual or large portions for sharing. All in all a very enjoyable meal and we will definitely visit again. In the evening there is plenty of free parking on the surrounding roads and Albany Park station is literally 30 metres walk away.

Went here for an after work dinner with colleagues. Booking was easily done. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and given our menus. They have very good deal - Eat as much as you like £24.50 p/p from Sunday to Thursday and £26.50 p/p on Friday and Saturday. Anyways food and drinks came very quickly. We tried Mixed Hors D’oeuvres platter, Crispy Aromatic Duck and Crispy Aromatic Lamb as starter. For the mains we got the Special Singapore Rice noodles, Egg Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice, sweet and sour chicken Cantonese Style, Beef in Szechuan style. All were amazing and I'd suggest the Stir Fried Roast Pork with Onion in Dark Soya Sauce. Also the sauce they served with starter is nice as an add on if you like an extra kick of spice. Highly recommended!!!

So I ordered sweet and sour chicken with peppers and extra crackers made sure with garlic shawarma sauce on top,50 minutes later I receive no crackers or peppers but a Heinz ketchup bottle for free for the waiting time.The portions were very little we had to go eat chicken shawarma after to fill ourselves up.But I will give 5 stars

First time of use: evaluating for a potential future group booking. We took a takeaway and was impressed with service speed, taste and presentation of food. Restaurant wasn't packed despite being a Saturday evening and parking very convenient in the station car park just down the road. Suitably impressed, will use again and will definitely try now to arrange a block booking.

Very kind staff, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. best dish I've had in ages. waiters took my order quickly and my food was done in a short amount of time. For me, I would describe Fortune Inn as the best restaurant in the area.

Visited here with my Mum on a weekday evening. When we arrived, we weren't sure if they were doing dine in as the place looked like it was closed as no tables were laid. We were then only given one a la carte menu to share (no one else was there) plus the wine list and the all you can eat menu. The food was very good but compared to the takeaways we gave had previously, the portions were very small. You also get no option re prawn crackers which are put on the table and cost £2.50 for about 10. We'll definitely stick with takeaways in the future as there was no atmosphere and very expensive for a mid-week meal.

It's Christmas Eve and fancied a takeaway. Delivery was quoted as over an hour or 20-30 minutes to collect. Got there 30 minutes after the call to be told it's another 20 minutes. Ridiculous!!

We ordered a takeaway including chicken with green peppers and blackbean sauce but not a green pepper in sight. Tasted nice but not as described?

We order from this place every week and it never disappoints. We usually get special fried rice, chicken chow mien, crispy shredded beef and crispy duck. It always comes hot and tasty!

We love this place. Everyone we bring here loves it too. All you can eat but they cook it all fresh. The cote du Rhone is really nice too if you like red wine.

They are terrible at communication. I tried ordering food. Less than 10 mins of placing the order, they sent me a text saying my order was canceled because they were unable to call me to verify the items I ordered. I’m unsure how I was able to get a text of the cancellation but NO call. I’m unsure as to why they even needed to verify my order. Terrible first time experience!! Cancelled my order without reason.

Useless will never use again ordered meal waited one hour did not arrive phoned and they said on its way still not delivered so we ordered from Beijing spring instead will NEVER USE FORTUNE INN again Terry Wright

Food is an insult to your pocket and stomach. I thought ingredients were of poor quality. Example the chicken isn’t fresh chicken. Shaped processed chicken

The food is nice, but seemed a bit expensive when you eat in. You also seem to get more rice in the takeaway portion.

Was recommended here by a friend and must say it was a great recommendation. We had the buffet and the food always came out hot and tasty. The staff was also friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back again!!

me and my husband went to this resturant after looking at all the positive comments their were comments you can not always go buy as we got their we was not welcomed anything we said we got head shakes as to yes or no and the starters great but everything else after was cold food with an attitude no people skills we were watched contestant eating our food while they speak in their language behind their mask laughing was very uncomfortable we could not eat any main no flavour 8 dishes went to waste when I wanted to make my main order I was told to order a little then I can always order more which was a check I'll order what I want to eat I do not recommend they should not be trading we would never go bk.

I went here last night with friends as we wanted to eat at a buffet - we were the only people here, thanks to the football! We went for the 'all you can eat' option. The food was delicious and served quickly, and was all made fresh (and not greasy!) The service was fantastic and we had a wonderful evening. The staff were so kind and friendly. We'll definitely come again when we're next in the area. Thank you so much!

Love this restaurant! we can't praise it highly enough. The food is always good. Tasty and piping hot! There is both an a la carte menu and a buffet menu - we usually eat the buffet menu as there is oodles of variety, and all the usual favourites are there; mixed starters, duck or lamb 2nd course, sweet dishes, spicy dishes, sizzling dishes! The staff here are so attentive and really welcoming. So for such good food you'd think you'd pay a fortune - but no! both offerings are easy on the wallet! The buffet is especially good value! We have used the fortune for take away food as well, we have always called directly, and the food has arrived on time, still hot, and as good as if we were eating in! Quite Simply, we love it!

My partner and I ordered through Just Eat and it never came! According to Just Eat the restaurant said they had delivered it! They took our money and didn’t deliver the food! Will never order from here again, we feel completely scammed!!!

Food did not arrive at all called them after being 30 minutes late already to see what was happening and they said the delivery driver has just left....... no food arrived and the restaurant marked the delivery as complete with the company I ordered from a complete scam of a takeaway closed soon after and did not answer the phone! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Just had a delicious takeaway from this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. Even though its Monday night during a pandemic it was lovely to see 3 tables of diners. Will definitely eat in next time

My family and I have been ordering takeaways from Fortune Inn since it opened a few years ago. For us it is hands down the best Chinese in the area. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal from this restaurant. Every dish we have ever ordered always tastes fresh, is packed with flavour and is never greasy (a problem I've found with some Chinese restaurants). My only slight gripe is... on the couple of occasions we have eaten in the restaurant there hasn't been much of an ambience. But... the food and service has always been amazing.

Love this restaurant, I am not living close by but still like to go to this place once in a while. Used to order dishes, but tried the buffet a few days ago, very good for value and starter was brilliant! Super friendly staff and felt welcomed every single visit, highly recommend!

First time coming back since lockdown, food is as good as I remember. Service was excellent and we had a great time.

Food looked and smelt vile! Chilli beef was like jelly as it had clearly been left for days and then reheated. Vegetables were dry and spongy so were quite obviously old!!! Lamb smelt off and was slightly green!! 🤢 I contacted the restaurant to complain and they sent me another ‘freshly made’ order which also went straight in the bin as it was not much better than the first lot of food. Put me off Chinese all together, DISGUSTING!

I really like the Fortune Inn, the food is better quality than your standard Chinese takeaway but still reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, helpful and child friendly. The restaurant is a pleasant place to eat in but we generally go for a takeaway as we live locally and have young children.

We have eaten at the Fortune Inn many times and liked it but last evening we eat there and the food was awful. The crispy duck pancake was all dried up and not crispy like it had been kept warm and the pork as one of the main meals again was all dried up. The prawns in ginger were not properly cooked and there were only 4 prawns. When we pointed this out to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders so we won’t be returning which is a shame.

Gorgeous food. Always fresh and delivered hot! Staff are very polite and the restaurant is always extremely clean. I've been ordering from here for two years and we always enjoy it! Never had a bad experience. Some Chinese takeaways are really greasy. This is just perfect!!

After a birthday drink with friends in The Albany pub we decided to have some dinner. At 8pm we tried this Chinese for the "all you can eat" buffet. Turns out the buffet wasn't available but you could order off the menu!! This is the 4th time we have tried to have the all you can eat and every time we are declined service but can order from the menu! Restaurant was empty and I'm not surprised! Will not be attempting it again!

We have eaten here on many occasions and will keep coming back! As a couple and as a family. We simply love it!The food is fantastic! Piping hot! Flavoursome, great portion sizes and the “all you can eat” is excellent value for money. The service is attentive without being over bearing and always friendly! Went for a meal with my friends (10 of us), they put up a large round table for us. Great service from the waitresses and the food came out quick. The food was very nice and came out hot. Definitely coming back again

In Bexley Village is the best Chinese restaurant.

Two couples, old friends out for a good meal and conversation. The Fortune Inn was the perfect venue for us. Staff were welcoming, polite and gave us all the time we needed to settle in and peruse the menu. The food was excellent, in particular the sizzling dishes. I would strongly recommend the sizzling beef fillet in black bean sauce - it was absolutely delicious.

Absolutely discussed with their mannors, laughing at us down the phone because they got our order wrong. Come and took the food back while laughing. Very very rude

We went into this restaurant looking forward to a nice family meal and came out extremely upset and shocked by the whole experience. We found the staff rude and unhelpful and really did not want to attend to our family needs.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, let alone anyone with kids. We have never had such a bad customer service as we did at this restaurant.

Went into this 'restaurant' (I use the term loosely!) with my husband and daughter. The staff were so rude! Chose the all you can eat option and the food was below average and cold. Tried to discuss this with the waitress, who couldn't have appeared more bored if she had tried! Having read the other reviews I was expecting attentive waitresses and prompt table service, I couldn't have been more disappointed. Much better off going into Bexley village. I would not go to this place again.....

dont touch this place they charged my daughter £11 for my 2 year old grandson I used to go in here quite a lot but not any more the rudest manager ever my daughter spent £70 in there as it was how can you justify this greed

Went for the all you can eat buffet on a Saturday evening. Had a lovely meal! The waitresses were very attentive and every portion was a good size. We had a large selection of starters and some mains. Each was very impressive. It’s cheaper on week days than weekends but that’s expected in all restaurants. I would suggest booking at weekends as they are usually very busy but I’ve got a table on a week day without booking. The takeaway option also seemed very popular with lots of people coming to pick up but I have not yet ordered takeaway. Very good all round.

First time visit to this restaurant and pleasantly surprised. Although busy the food came to the table promptly and was very nice, we will visit this place again. The menu is either fixed price buffet style or a la carte. If you choose buffet style a different menu is given and the food you choose is cooked to order, none of that serve yourself from food warmers here!

Excellent...as always...best kept secret in Albany Park/Sidcup

I have not enjoyed a non greasy Chinese for many many years.. We were going to our favourite Indian restaurant in Albany Park in August 2017 only to see a notice that they were away on holiday, since we always walk from Bexley village we were ready to eat, we walked into the Fortune Inn were greeted by warm friendly staff. We enjoyed a 3 course meal that had on offer a wide range of vegetarian options for me incredible, hooray! the house wine was good and Chinese beer for Hubby.

Terrible staff working in Fortune Inn, found them very rude and not helpful or understanding. They were very rude to my friends/guests who were with me and it was very embarrassing. Sadly none of the staff have any manner and seem to be forgetting who is paying their wages, the customers so it wouldn't hurt to learn some manners and learn how to speak to people.

Food and service is excellent. The all you can eat menu is brilliant value.

Hemos comido cena aquí la familia varias veces, y cada vez la comida era de regular a buena. Los platos son geniales para los niños, más suaves, no demasiadas verduras (8, 5 y 2 años) para ahuyentar a ellos! Yo estaba dispuesto a pagar el precio completo del menú para los otros dos niños y mi marido y yo (casi $15 por niños y casi $25 para adultos), sin embargo, es sorprendentemente, los platos que trajo era pequeña. . . Quizás suficiente para dos, quizás tres personas. . Bien, supongo que. Como nos solo de 2 adultos y 2 niños (pequeños) comer correctamente" (5 y 8 años), pero cuando llegó la factura, que me habían cobrado los $15 para el bebé, así como en cargos de servicio de $12 que era obligatorio. Me cuestionó la carga para mi bebé, y fue informado de que el "todo" tiene que pedir mesa el mismo menú, cosa que no sería permitido, y habría que pedir a la carta. Aunque esto no se explicó con antelación pidiendo, una también no había sido un problema en todas las anteriores 3 x que habíamos visitado. Una lástima, me explicó que yo había pedido un arroz separado para el bebé y me preguntó si realmente pensaba que un niño de 2 años a comer comida de $15 vale la pena - ni él tocado otros platos, pero insistían en que debe pagarse el precio completo. . . . No pensamos volver.

Encontrar un restaurante chino que puede improvisar algo sin gluten es una rareza. La variedad es más pequeña, por supuesto, pero comer aquí regularmente y nunca he tenido problemas. El personal es encantador y la comida siempre es deliciosa!

Mi familia siempre pide de aquí y ha sido una larga noche de sábado a medida de nuestros aunque últimamente estamos encontrando el tamaño de las porciones son cada vez más cada vez que orden. Las bolas de cerdo son la mitad del tamaño que solía ser, y los fideos Singapur era simplemente fideos - casi sin camarones, carne, etc.

Si estás buscando a pagar altos precios por los alimentos servidos en platos minúsculos, este es el lugar para ti. . . Nunca había sido tan pequeño sirve de Chow mein en un plato antes en mi vida. Después de un largo día de viaje de vuelta a Reino Unido con mi novia pensamos pop aquí algunos alimentos, ordenados 2 especial chow meins y una porción de bolas de cerdo para compartir. Cuando la comida llegó a la mesa pensamos que nos había malinterpretado y que habían 1 porción nos sirvió en dos platos porque queríamos compartir, pero este no fue el caso este pequeño plato parecido a un iPad mini rectángulo era una porción. Y las bolas de cerdo no eran mucho más grandes que malteasers. Nos estaba y en 20 minutos y no nos comen rápido y fuimos directamente a la co op para conseguir un bocadillo porque todavía hambre. Muy de moda interior y obviamente de negocios no es próspera porque estaba completamente vacío, pero las porciones de cortar por la mitad es una estupenda manera de perder aún más negocios. No vamos a volver de nuevo.

Restaurante agradable y la comida es una maravilla, pero muy caro para el tamaño de las porciones que te dan, que parecen estar cada vez más pequeños vamos en allí. Los camareros y camareras son siempre estuviéramos pasando encima de su vaso o ofrecen más...

Un restaurante encantador con un personal muy amable. Toda nuestra familia le gusta la comida que ofrecen y está convenientemente situado para recoger en el camino a casa desde la estación de tren de albany park.

El servicio es muy pobre, me dijo que en media hora y nos llevó 2 horas y no parece que se preocupan cuando llamamos, la comida está bien pero lo mejor, si quieres tu comida rápida no pida desde aquí

This Chinese was Yummy!....iv been trying to find a nice local take away for many months and one that doesn't drench their food in oil and throw it together. Thank good I read some of the other positive reviews and tried this place out. The food was perfect. Rice was nice and fresh and the Chow mein wasn't soaked in oil. Chicken balls were also lovely and the sauces were really tasty. 2 happy customers! The lady who took our order was very nice and wasn't rushing me through the order- Thank you Fortune inn we will be returning customers.

We visit here regularly, whether it's for a takeaway, to eat in the restaurant or have a delivery. Good menu, very reasonably priced and food is lovely. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

This is a local restaurant almost next to the Albany Park rail station. The area is small and quiet, nothing special, and maybe not a place where you would expect to find a good and clean Chinese restaurant, but the Fortune Inn is one of those local restaurants that you 'd expect to find in posher and busier streets. We usually have a take away from here, and my previous review was about this aspect of the business. A couple of weeks ago we decided to sit in and we were very impressed. The take away menu is priced per item, but the sit-in menu is an 'all you can eat' fixed price per person. During the week this is about £17 per person, and during the weekend I think this is around £19 pp. This may seem expensive at first, but if you are hungry, and considering that duck and seafood are expensive everywhere, the price is good as two or more people can try and share a lot of different starters and main dishes which would otherwise be very expensive. This deal also gives you the freedom to try many different Chinese dishes that probably you would hesitate to. This is not a buffet, which means no greasy pre-cooked food! All food is prepared to order. Everything we tried was excellent and very well cooked. The fried items were golden, crispy and light, not brown and soggy as in other places. You couldn't smell / taste the oil at all. In other places, Chinese noodles leave me feeling bloated because of too much salt, oil or allergens used in the cooking, but not here! We ate a lot of food but we felt great the rest of the evening. The staff is very attentive; a young waiter in particular is always smiling and he is very polite. As long as you eat and don't waste the food, they will keep cooking for you and serve anything you choose from the menu without any fuss at all. Also, their hygiene rating is now 5* which is truly excellent.

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago with friends and made the most of the buffet menu...It's not a buffet where the food is already prepared and keeping warm under a light, rather the set list of options (which to be fair are many) are cooked to order This means that it's all fresh and hot and all the selections we ordered were very tasty.Usual favourites such as duck pancakes, sweet & sour prawns, crispy chilli beef were all lovely as were all the other additionsIt's not the most beautifully decorated eatery but what do you want for a fixed price of £18 per head? It was clean, tidy and comfortable though.You couldn't fault the food or the very smiley, helpful and friendly service from the young ladies serving.I liked it in here and will go back again that's for sure

I must admit that I am a regular to The Fortune Inn: eating in and takeaways. The food is always hot and I love that you order from the menu rather than self-service. The staff are always polite and can't do enough for you.

The all you can eat buffet does not disappoint. There is a fairly wide range off dishes to choose from all of which are cooked to order and are delicious. Portions of some of the main dishes are slightly on the small side for my liking, but, it is not a problem to order more if you are still peckish.The staff are attentive and the place is clean. Overall it is well worth the money, especially if you go during the week when the all you can eat is cheaper than the weekend.

Have been buying their takeaways regularly for some time. Although the chow mein is generally very good, the portions have been getting progressively smaller.

I usually don't have Chinese takeaway food because of the fact I'm Chinese and cook the food at home. But tonight I decided I cannot be bothered to cook so I decided to look for Chinese takeaway food to eat. Came across this lovely little hidden beauty by Albany Park station.Walked in to order then saw the plates of food everyone was eating and it was nice and packed. Saw a table and decided to eat at the place instead of ordering takeaway with two of my friends.Food was totes delicious, perfect portions and the place was clean (which a lot of other Chinese places are not!) there was the 4 star hygiene rating when I left so I was mega happy with my lazy no cooking evening! I've been here twice in quick succession. The restaurant is decorated very tastefully and has seating for around 50, which is much more than I expected. The service is very good, with our starters being delivered quickly and then offering us a slight pause before main courses. There was no feeling of being hurried or rushed. The food was of a very good quality and I'd happy take friends, family or dates back.

Fortune Inn is a Chinese restaurant in Sidcup, next to Albany Park rail station. It also offers delivery and take-away food. We've only tried the take-away, so the review is about this aspect of the business. The restaurant looks clean and tidy, and there are chairs available for those waiting for a take away. They get a 4* hygiene rating, which is very good, better than most of their competition. The prices are quite typical for Chinese food, which can be expensive, but they are lower for a take-away, and this is clearly communicated in-store. Looking at their website, I noticed that it is basic, and the prices have gone up without the site being updated, so visit and ask for a new menu. As it looks like a typical local Chinese restaurant, I didn't have high expectations, especially after being let down by another Chinese restaurant in the area (see review). However, their take-away menu is extensive, with many noodle dishes. They even have Ho-Fun noodles, which I particularly like, and they went to the trouble to cook for me a combination that doesn't exist on the menu, Ho-Fun with roast duck. To my surprise, not only was it tasty and as I've had it elsewhere, but also, it had generous pieces of roast duck in it. The Sesame Prawn on Toast was also good, and we could taste the prawn bits in them. The staff was very helpful and polite. I'll visit again.
