Haven't been here for ages and they didn't disappoint highly recommended

Fairly decent enough, standard Western Chinese with all your classics in a nice decor - quality was quite reasonable for the price but found some of the food a bit on the greasy side like you get from a take away. Personally prefer more authentic Chinese cuisine.

First and last time here. Spontaneously decided to stop for a takeaway on a cold night late home from work. Advised cash only for orders under £10 - really, in 2024? Like many people, I don’t even carry cash any more. Won’t be returning. Menu not that great either.

I popped down to Bamboo on Christmas Eve 2023 for a takeaway. Ordered, paid & away in 15 minutes. All food was absolutely superb. I drive past 'other' Chinese restaurants to dine here & highly recommend them to everyone.

Being going here for decades mainly for takeaway. Excellent food much better than any other Cinese I know. Friendly family staff.

Shame as we’d started ordering from here but unfortunately I have to echo another review - portion sizes were small, chicken chow mein contained minimal chicken and was a bit flavourless, chicken in black bean sauce was really chewy and the staff come across with a weird attitude which doesn’t feel accommodating as a customer.

The spring roll / prawn toast and ribs were very overdone It's a shame as I was recommended by a friend first time ordering . Was looking for a new nice Chinese but I wouldn't order again based on the starters . Ordered at 5.50pm so no excuses really as it was very early.

Portion size is ridiculously small and extremely bland. The sauce prices were expensive too. My friend and I didn’t feel feel very welcomed by staff

Lovely food, small positions and price higher than other Chinese restaurant, but tasty.

The place was amazing. It was clean and quiet and the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The food was good and was happy with the prices of the food however after leaving the price we realized that the total cost was slightly more than we expected. This may have been because they might have given us mineral water instead of tap water. If you are reading this review and going to this place, I recommend you requesting for tap water

Got a take away from here, food was awful. Lazy attempt to provide expected food…1/4 of duck not shredded, spaghetti like noodles with large chunks of chicken in a tasteless watery juice (Chicken and noodle soup) random bits of fried batter in the mixed hors doevres along with a battered, deep fried mess with all sorts in the filling that was meant to be a pancake roll. No sauce at all, ribs were dry and the all this for just under £30! Over priced, poor quality, nasty food. Binned most of it as was uneatable! Yuk!

Had a lovely meal on a Saturday evening. Got a table at relatively short notice. Mixed horderves for starters, everything was really nice, a minor issue was that the chicken satay was covered in peanut sauce which we didn’t know. Due to this I asked if we could have them plain, to which they obliged with no issues. We had prawn crackers on the side, however these weren’t included as complimentary which I found strange they charge £2.50 for a basket which I think is a bit cheeky. Duck was tasty, and then the mains were also very good, again only a little niggle but the crispy chilli beef didn’t have much sauce, but that’s just personal preference it didn’t effect how good the dish was. Overall had an excellent meal, would return.

Food is always nice but the set menu was actually cheaper if you bought the dishes separately so make sure you check before ordering

The food was really nice but for some wild reason we was made to feel guilty for not paying the service charge. What the hell has the UK become!! But will definitely recommend, paying the service charge to avoid that experience.

We have used this Chinese Restaurant for a takeaway 4 times in the past 2 months, and have found the set meals to be of good quality and at reasonable prices.

Since the demise of Beijing Spring, we have been using Bamboo in Old Bexley, And I have to say they are great, polite, good customer service, great food, what more can you want from a restaurant. BRAVO to them.

Couldn’t fault the food it was nice and very tasty. However the service wasn’t up to standard. Food was coming out at different times. Starters coming out with mains. It was very unorganised to say the least. Member of staff was very rude when they got one of the orders wrong.

Would be helpful if they stated on the menu Thai Green curry contained Pineapple and ALOT of it, could not eat it, waste of money.

So you go to eat here and park at side of restaurant a ticket comes through door and on further investigation the owners of the Chinese are responsible for issuing the parking tickets as its there land. SCAM. They add service charges when you eat in and fine your car when you take away. Foods average these people are really take the P. pure greedy.

Great little Chinese Restaurant on Bexley High Street. Always wanted to pay a visit and few days ago finally had a chance. Very friendly and welcoming staff. All of our dishes were served hot and we found them delicious. Have tried Chinese food all over the world and I can tell their food is far better than any average Chinese restaurant . Would love to go for a meal again.

Were told have 1 hour to be out even though it was early and not busy? We were over an hour because the food kept coming out at different times, my mate had his mains snd was wsiting ages for his rice while i was sitting with a bowel of noodles i didnt even order, she eventually brought his rice then my rice and i had to wait for my mains? Then gave the wrong order to the other table and took the noodles and gave the wrong order to the guy behind aswell, it wasnt even busy a shambles, watch out there sneaky on the bill it says service charge is not essential, or something to that effect they cross out (not) thats actually illegal you dont by law need to pay service charge i certainly wouldn't for that lousy service, was way overpriced aswell.

Pleasant looking restaurant. TakeAway section to the side of the entrance.Good customer services,booked a table & slightly changed times with no issues at all.Ordered a Chow Mein Special with sauce asked for no pork & prawns they were happy to add more chicken & beef..very yummy.😃👍🥘🍲⭐

Little Chinese restaurant just a short walk from the station. Modern, warm and inviting. The menu is a little westernised and could do with some specials. However, still some good choices. The food was good standard and you won’t be disappointed. Waitresses were very attentive and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Spontaneous visit early mid week evening. Food was ordered and served quickly and plentiful. Negative point was that a pint of lime and soda was charged at £4.80 when I've rarely paid more than £1.50 elsewhere so that came as a shock element to the otherwise satisfactory bill.

Expensive & ANPR parking extortion. Used to be really good/worth the cost for the food, but the food has slipped into mediocre with the same expensive prices. You never know when they are open/closed and they still have no online ordering so you have to ring up, and at busy times the phone is engaged for like half an hour sometimes. Also the parking racket down the side of the building to cream £60 from unsuspecting residents, customers and families is abominable (they just recently put up an ANPR camera). When challenged over the parking charges (run by London Parking Solutions) the manager denies any involvement, however their delivery vans and cars are parked down the same road all the time and they own the land (checked with land registry). Family was stung for £60 on Christmas Eve when SANTA (uncle) delivered presents and parked there for 10 minutes - sickening. And the food is overpriced too. Will use Beijing Spring from now on.

Terrible place with no customer service. Warning! if u complain, even the most innocuous and totally genuine complaint, they will blacklist you and no longer deliver. They keep a special book apparently. Staff are arrogant and will not listen. Apparently the owners daughter works there and is arrogant, unable to listen to reason, and staff are afraid of her. We have been loyal customers for 17 years 2 complaints made in that whole time both justified. One about food another about a delivery driver causing damage. They don’t deserve our business anyway, looking at the other reviews they have really gone downhill and have no respect and appreciation for their customers. Avoid!

How shocking that this restaurant have contracted a parking company to fleece the local residents for £60 a time if they park - to pick up their takeaway, alongside the shop. The cable from the camera clearing feeding into the electric through their wall. How underhand. Will never be using again after being regular customers for 30 years.To be honest though aside from this, the staff in the restaurant are SO grumpy and rude - plus the toilets are awful - never any handsoap, we've just continued using this chinese as its local for the kids. Never again

Don't park down the side of the Chinese to collect your take away as restaurant is doing very well from fleecing locals for private parking for a few minutes. Two weeks after parking you will receive a fine for £60 for the pleasure.... They don't care.

1st time, but not the last. Was told order would be an hour, but arrived within 40 mins, all meals and Starters arrived hot. My meal (king Prawn Pad Thai) and starter dim sum lovely, could not fault it. Will definitely use again.

If you don't get them on the phone by 6pm on a weekend then you haven't got a chance of ordering. Very nice place, which is why you can't get through to the number at a reasonable time on the weekend. Currently due the virus, you can't order by walking in (but you can walk in to collect, I think the virus can tell the difference) so the only chance to order is one number which is engaged non-stop and call back doesn't seem to work on it. The only dishes they could improve are the more basic ones, like the chow mein and sweet n sour balls being quite greasy. All the others are lovely, but they are a bit pricier than the usual chinese takeaway.

Fantastic food. I’ve had takeaway three times in three weeks as it’s that nice. Very good quality, well flavoured, not greasy, yet cooked for collection or delivery quickly. Very impressed. And lovely staff.

It is without doubt the nicest Chinese restaurant in the area, the service and food are great, however it is a little expensive when compared to other Chinese restaurants, but bottom line I suppose is that you get what you pay for.

Visited on Friday 7th February 2020 with friends for my birthday. We had a delicious meal and tried lots of dishes. Service was prompt and polite, staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgable. A great experience, The Bamboo was busy which is always nice to see.

Such a nice place to dine. Warm and friendly. Dishes were tasty and fragrant. Good atmosphere, too. We'll definitely be back!

Went for a family celebration, there was a lot of us so noise did not bother us ...A lovely surprise was how good the food was it was very good and tasty .....The staff were friendly too ...so all in all a really nice evening..would definitely recommend again ..

The welcome is always warm at the Bamboo and the food is very good. You cannot go wrong for a conventional Chinese meal.

Went out with friends pre-Christmas. Was ok but nothing to write home about! Tables very close together and VERY noisy. On the pricey side for set meals. Won’t be returning in a hurry.

Have been using the bamboo Garden for several years just lately it's gone downhill I've had a few bad meals and brought it to their attention but nothing's changed ordered takeaway tonight, Thai red curry which was flavourless and watery, a Chinese chicken curry which had the sauce and another ring around it full of Greece. Spare ribs which were like rubber bamboo sort it out people are paying good money

Just hungry and dropped in as passing by. Hot and very yummy dishes while the atmosphere is warm and homey. Definitely excellent for Chinese cruisine.

Have been here in the past. Food is always mostly good and consistent. They were very busy and fitted us in however they rushed us through as they wanted the table. We shared the duck pancakes which were tasty but the duck was a little dry. The spicy squid was scrumptious, Singapore noodles nice however the chilli prawns were a little overdone. I think the issues were due to how very busy they were. Disappointed that they did not have any dry rose wine given how popular rose is now. I would go back but would chose a quieter night.

We popped in here as walk in customers. The staff were polite and helpful and provided excellent service throughout, good value for money.

Unfriendly staff, food is overpriced. We ordered roast duck, there were three small pieces of meat in it, and the whole portion is too small and taste is very average. It was brought to our table too fast, I think it was just microwaved. The amount you have to pay is not obvious, as there was some extra 2 pounds added to the bill hand-written with no explanation. I would never go back to this restaurant again.

Very nice quality, fresh tasting take away, the best we have had for years! I echo the thoughts about price but would rather pay more for good food than less for bad. The only downside is delivery is only within 2 miles and parking is difficult. Other than that faultless and highly recommended.

Recommended by a local friend - and a very pleasant takeaway was had. I agree with previous reviews on pricing - with the caveat that you get what you pay for. All of our dishes were ready for collection at the requested time, hot, very clearly presented (plastic see thru' lids are a great idea) and absolutely delicious - even the remnants cold the next morning (guilty pleasure!). Would order / visit again and recommend highly! Sadly we are just outside of Bamboo's delivery perimeter - probably not a bad thing!

Arranged to meet with a large group of friends last night to go to this well reviewed restaurant. Checked opening times before we went, supposed to open at 5pm. Met before 6pm but door still locked. Could see someone working through the back in the kitchen so telephoned to ask when they would open but no answer. Eventually the man came to the door and just smiled and said ‘closed” with no explanation. Wasted trip, very disappointing and dreadful communication. A loss of future custom for sure

One of the best Chinese restaurants in my area. We always use Bamboo for our takeaway and have never had a bad meal. The food is tasty and always arrives hot and on time

Lovely food, not cheap but the best for miles, but.. Just don’t order by phone at busy times! 25 minutes of calling (61 calls!) before I got through. It would have been quicker to walk there and eat in!

Lovely Chinese food, well cooked and very family friendly

Food was very tasty, a lot of it with set menus which is good. Nice to get sharing plates to try all different foods. Service was very good and speedy, staff very attentive and friendly. Definitely one of the best chinese restaurants that is local.

Very good food and great service

The food was good but the portions are smaller. Not sure if this because we had a big group or its now the norm. We have had in the past a banquet for 2 for my wife and twin 4 year olds and had plenty of food in fact too much food. We had a 6 adults and the twins so had a banquet for 6 and there was only just enough! The cost was very expensive as well. My wife says she doesn't want to return!

What an awful takeaway! Lost of our order was missing and the food we did receive was cold and tasteless. When we called to explain that we had missing food they called us liars and were extremely rude. Will never go again, avoid.

I am reviewing Bamboo solely on its take out food as we, the family, have never eaten in the restaurant. Although when picking up food the restaurant has always been busy, which cannot be a bad sign. We have tried various local Chinese restaurants offering a take out service and rate Bamboo as the best. The quality of the food is excellent and price is reasonable. Bamboo has become a firm family favourite on take out nights...

Very good food and cheap menu. The dishes are big, service is chinese normal standards, the restaurant is small and always busy, but you can certainly find a table. The dishes are big and circa 7 pounds each, I highly recommend for chinese cosine. Give it a try!!

So normally I would say excellent. I love their dried beef Ho Fun. Also their shredded crispy beef. They do try. But on some dishes... bit of a fail. Such as their lamb and lettuce pancakes. It’s a £9 dish (give or take 20p) and what you get is lettuce on lettuce with some cucumber and onions, with a tiny bit of lamb. I was a little shocked as these guys normally get it spot on. I would say avoid this dish and overall this place is ok, if not a little overpriced at points.

We have our food delivered, and for the last 3 times there has been an item of our food not there or it is wrong, and last time this happened it took them 30 minutes to come back with the missing food, th by then the rest of the food was cold. The food is still good if you get the food you order.

Takeaway was a great disappointment. We have been using Bamboo for takeaways for a few years and this is the first time we have to be critical. Starter - no sauce on the ribs - dry and uninteresting and chewy. Sweet and sour wantons - no sauce and just parcels of pastry. Crispy seaweed was uneatable. Worst I have ever had anywhere. Main dish - OK but chicken was chewy. We were really looking forward to this after a busy day but not good. Doubt we shall be back.

We took a take away, not only the food was quick, the portion was just right. The shop have variety of menu for vegetarian and it taste good. Would visit again for dining in soon.

Very good quality food. Visited several times and it never disappoints. Delicious! Free parking after 6:30 in the road behind the high street is a bonus too.

Eaten here twice and had a lovely experience both times. The service was really good tonight. We ordered the king prawn Thai curry, and we both loved it! It was unusual in that it was a spicy, sweet and sour dish but had a lovely balance of flavours. Delicious! The sea bass was perfectly steamed and soft and tender with generous black bean sauce. The broccoli side dish was crisp and fresh and green and lovely! So lovely to have a healthy, flavoursome, non fried meal out. That said, most of the menu was fried, but that's what most people want I guess. A little note regarding what I feel a 5-star review means. I went for five stars because this a great local Chinese restaurant serving it's community well in terms of price and menu. If it's clientele were drawn from a wider area such as a famous Knightsbridge restaurant, I may judge it on a different scale.
