We were hungry while waiting for our ferry so called in for a sandwich to take away. Oh my goodness, the best sandwich ever! Bacon and egg mayo and tuna mayo. Delicious, fresh bread with so much filling it was oozing out. Fantastic.

We stopped for a ice cream around 3pm constant que / flow of people so great sign of a good place. I asked for 2 mr whippys for the children and the women where obviously very over worked and fed up they made it known to me that they had a very early start that day 4:30am! and it had been “non stop sh!t” I smiled and took my order. We stayed outside while the kids ate, the shop then closed turning away 3/4 separate customers. The two women packed up still cursing loudly and stating to people they where closing due to being non stop. We did not intentionally listen but found it hard to ignore the F words about their jobs and customers and felt I had to write this as it’s not sat well with me since.

On holiday in the IOW again and we found ourselves in Yarmouth around lunch time and remembered Nammetts from our previous visit four years ago. We were amazed that coffee is still only £1 and that the food is as delicious as ever. I had a prawn sandwich which was stuffed full of prawns and my husband had the sausage and bacon roll which he said was delicious! Very reasonable prices for the quality and well worth stopping by. They have hand sanitiser at the front too. Owing to present circumstances (Covid) at the moment it is take away only but we were able to sit on a bench outside. We were served by a very nice young lady ho was fast and efficient.

Having arrived at the ferry terminal at Yarmouth we found that we were 2 hours early for our booked ferry. The Staff at the port placed on a reserve list for the next ferry. When we returned to the terminal, we were admitted and then, after a while, we were informed that the one we were due to catch had been cancelled. As we needed to travel to the west country, we needed to obtain some lunch to take with us. Having to follow a gluten free diet, this is not easy. However, after asking at some local shops and talking to a helpful local, we were informed that Nammet could probably help us. YES they were able to assist, as they had some gluten free items and could make some home made sandwiches (Various fillings were available). These were fresh and tasty, so much so that my wife may want to travel to Yarmouth again, soon!It is a pity that these establishments cannot advertise that they do serve gluten free items, as the law seems to require them to have a dedicated GF kitchen to do so.Staff friendly and helpful. Thanks you Nammets for saving our day. Good Luck for the season and future.PS I would ask any GF suffer to comment on Tripadvisor, when they come across this situation, as it is the only way that the message gets across

Popped into Nammet a few weeks ago as ferry was running an hour late due to fog and it was nearly lunchtime. Had an egg sandwich on white bread. It was the most delicious sandwich I have ever had!! Freshly baked bread, eggs amazing and exactly the right amount of seasoning. We ate at several "posh" places whilst on the mainland but, when we got home, all I could talk about was my egg sandwich. We have popped in a few times since for breakfast and everything has been brilliant. Freshly cooked, delicious, and extremely good value for money? I highly recommend this establishment

Nice position right next to ferry car park but overlooking the harbour as well. Lets face it you are not coming here for five star food but a good very cheap snack to take on the ferry or to sit and eat. £2.50 for a decent cup of coffee AND a large sausage roll seemed too cheap so I asked the nice lady if I had paid the right amount? walking across towards the town from the bus terminal this is the first cafe you'll spot. The frontage is small but what caught my eye is the sign "cheapest cuppa in Yarmouth" and so dropped in for one. Inside it's pretty basic but it sells more or less what you would expect from a small cafe. Indeed the tea was £1 and so along with a piece of cake I sat outside in the sun overlooking the quay. Not sure why it's not busier but if it's sunny and there's a spare table out front (only room for two tables) then to my mind it's a perfect spot to put up your feet and watch the world go by.

This is a very reasonably priced snack bar. There are seats in a sunny position overlooking the quay, and gluten free sandwiches are advertised. We stopped for a coffee and I asked if there were any gluten free biscuits. The assistant pointed at such packeted biscuits on the counter, and although not fresh I was pleased coeliacs had been thought of. Imagine my horror after eating one and passing the other to my coeliac partner, when I read WHEAT on the ingredients listed. I mentioned this to the assistant, who didn't even apologise. She just looked at me in disbelief. Thought I'd better warn other coeliacs that this snack bar is NOT gluten aware!

I've NEVER before had to write a bad review for a cafe! It should be fairly simple to make a black coffee and one hot chocolate but obviously not. The coffee was so weak and tepid that my husband left it and my hot chocolate was hot water with colouring, I could not taste any chocolate, it was devoid of any flavour. I'm a great fan of supporting local business but won't be visiting this place again. The young man behind the counter took a fairly large order after ours and stood there adding up the bill in his head only to over charge the customer £10. For goodness sake buy a till or at the very least a calculator. Rant over.

Visited whilst on a day tour around the Island and decided to stop here for a quick bite. We chose the toasted sandwiches with a cuppa which were very reasonable. the service was quick and efficient and the lady serving was very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches were hot, very tasty and filling. Give it a try. It is ideally located next to the ferry terminal

I was served by a lovely lady saturday evening, soooo helpful, i wanted chips and a veggie burger, and she was honest and told me the chips are cooked in beef fat, i wouldnt have been impressed if i had eaten any after being a vegetarian for 42 years! Soooo much appreciated, i love honesty too, a big believer in it, also they did me some fries cooked using something else. Thankyou all again. Top notch service, after driving around what seemed like forever to try and park near, so all your kindness was very welcome. 😁

This is another example of a business that it does exactly what it says on the packet coupled with a friendly, efficient team and an amazing kitchen. It is predominately a coaching hotel and a very successful one too. Our last night at the Shanklin Beach Hotel it was full with 3 coach loads and several independent couples (including us). The hotel offered dinner, bed & breakfast. The dinner menu offered 3 courses with 3 choices per course. The same applied for breakfast, including a Full English, plus self service cereals, fruit juices, tea & coffee. They must have invested in some impressive equipment in the kitchen as, within 5 minutes of ordering breakfast or dinner, is was delivered to the table tasting freshly cooked. The room was a good size with an on-suit with shower, TV, wardrobe. tea & coffee making set. Not luxurious but clean, with comfortable beds. It has a well stocked bar and it's own car park behind the hotel but you do need to register your registration number with reception. Whether coaching or independently exploring this interesting little island, if it includes the Shanklin Beach Hotel you will enjoy your stay.

My wife and I were staying at Whitecliff bay holiday park and fancied fish and chips, we chose this chippy as it was the nearest to us, what a mistake that was. We got refried chips that were inedible, they went in the bin. The fish was ok, not much taste though, at £15 for 2 small portions of just about edible fish we fllelt well and truly ripped off.

It's a McDonald's. Food is consistent. Always collect now as if delivered arrives cold.
