Forest Fungi/ The Farm Shop in Teignbridge

Forest Fungi is a great breakfast / brunch spot. The breakfast menu is served until 2 and offers some unusual and delicious options, mushrooms are front and centre as you would expect. They have also introduced a BBQ menu and offer tea and cake in the afternoon. There is a small farm shop on site and a good range of fresh baked goods. The service is friendly and approachable and prices reasonable. The best thing about Forest Fungi is the food, high quality, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time. At the weekend it is sensible to book in advance.

Great service. Very attentive and friendly. Professional chef and excellent quality food. You are always greeted nicely and the staff are polite.

We came across this lovely little hidden gem by chance. From the outside it doesn’t look like much but when you go inside you will be very gladly surprised. We were welcomed with a smile. The staff here are very happy. This farm shop sells little gifts, produce and of course mushrooms. Lots of different varieties. There is a lovely room out the back that you can have a cuppa and a cake or something more substantial. We opted for the full breakfast and we weren’t disappointed. The food is geared around using local produce and of course their very own mushrooms. There was not a long wait for the food and it was brought over to us by a very lovely lady who was full of smiles. The plates were warm which was really lovely to see and you could tell that the produce was excellent. We have had many breakfasts before and we would go as far as saying this one is the best we have ever had. 10/10 from us. The chef obviously knows their food and takes a pride in what they do. We had a latte which was a good size and really nice coffee. We also had some organic cherry cola which was delicious. There is a good variety of food and drink options and the great thing is, they serve breakfast till 2pm. Great value. There is even a little viewing window where you can see the mushrooms being harvested. It is dog friendly so you can even take your furry companions along with you too. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and will definitely be returning soon.

Simply brilliant, good food, good service, sensible prices, what's not to like, just a shame we found this place on our last day.

Well cooked, local food. We love it here 😊 My favourite is the mushroom eggs Benedict, whilst my husband likes the full English. I think we’ve visited about 10 times now and never had a bad experience.

Wow, what a superb breakfast!!! We had the Forest Fungi mushrooms served on a toasted muffin, with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce finished with truffle. A lovely gift and deli shop. You can view the mushrooms being grown through a window in the Cafe. Service was wonderful. Lovely place. Even if you don’t like mushrooms there are lots of delicious treats on the menu. Highly recommend you go!

We called in here early on good Friday for Breakfast we didn't realise that you had to book but luckily the lady that we saw managed to fit us in, we all had a lovely breakfast at you can see from the photos attached. Pipping hot and delicious. The only thing we would say is the parking, we only just managed to get parked because most of the car park was flooded. And people has just parked where they could because of this. But that was the only problem we could see and luckily because we have a small car got parked ok in a small space.

This meal was a disaster from start to finish, the most serious issue being disregard for an allergy! I ordered mushrooms on gluten free bread as I have an allergy, the meal turned up and as a precaution I checked that the bread was gluten free. IT WAS NOT! Had I not checked and just eaten the meal I would have been ill. In my case I would just have been unwell but if someone had a more serious allergy they could be dead! Allergy’s must be taken seriously this level of incompetence is staggering. In addition to the above, my husbands egg was not cooked, the white being runny, his beans were cold and we were served the wrong coffee. We received our money back

Had reserved a table and was looking forward to the visit but on arrival had problems parking - the two free spaces were a pond eventually squeezed into small space at entrance. Walked into restaurant and waited at door no one came so went to farm desk and asked if we could go to table and was told fine. Sat down and waited and waited then realised that we possibly had to order at farm shop desk so got into queue 3 in front 6 behind, eventually ordered & paid. Another wait of at least 30 minutes for a mushroom bap which was cold and all there is to look at is mounds of bramble weeds and grass Staff lovely, farm shop good, but sorry not impressed with set up and lack of information. Toilets are really scruffy as well.

Lovely food tad slow but worth it. Cracking cafe excellent quality at a good price. I found it interesting as I'm a forager. Came away with some "Hen of the Wood" mushrooms and some "king oysters'. Lovely friendly atmosphere with good value.

Yes they need to sort out the parking and yes they need to build the toilets inside the main building and they are all in the immediate plans for this fantastic establishment run by Scott, his family and a really friendly organised team. I loved hearing of the plans to expand further to do breakfast, lunch and dinner that will be super. The new restaurant space was much needed and lovely. Probably would suggest a little sign to say grab a table and order at the till as a lot of people arrived and didn’t know what to do. Once sorted though the food arrived in a timely fashion and was tasty and can I say how much we love the size of the mugs/cups for tea. Never ever change those please 😍. We’ll return for sure

I’ve been coming here for years and it just gets better, the new extension makes the place way bigger and the food quality is brilliant. Mushrooms grown and cooked on site that taste delicious. The staff are very welcoming to me and my dog and there were also treats available to distract him. If you want the best Eggs Benedict, this is the place to go

We had a delicious takeaway for a birthday surprise. The kitchen was very busy but all the staff were charming and professional. Libby deserves special praise for being friendly, an excellent communicator and for going more than an extra mile! Thank you all !😀

Newly opened large bright warm cafe; what a lovely venue where the sun was streaming in and even though very busy we only had to wait a minute or so for a table. Amazing breakfast choices and quite delicious. Our second time here and will come again of course.

Staff really nice, polite and helpful.. we arrived hoping to breaky but all tables were full. The young man said he would reserve their next free seating.. if we would like to peruse their farm shop. After a few minutes he called us over. Lovely full cooked.. fresh and tasty. Thank you fungi….

Very popular cafe which was busy when we arrived without a reservation at 13.30 Thursday lunch time. Very good food very plentiful, and good value. We did have a wait for the food but not unduly long given it was busy. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We visited with friends on moving to the area and checking out reviews. Breakfast was delicious, all superb produce and fair value for money. Certainly a place I would recommend for breakfast.

Dropped in for food and it was a good service overall. Clean place. Nice tea. Good food. Pleasant staff. A but expensive. Easy parking. Near the Welcome Park. We stay private and eat out a lot on holiday. I would go here again.

Both myself and my friend had the full English breakfast with duck egg, which was absolutely delicious and extremely good value for money, very pleasant staff, a treat not to be missed if you are in the area.

Great flavours, beautifully presented. I had the ‘eggs Champinon’. Such a delight and something out of the ordinary, my friend had the mushrooms on toast and was very pleased. Well worth a return visit. It was the perfect end to a lovely holiday. The price was very reasonable for good quality food. The staff were charming . Lots of lovely things on sale in the shop.

Excellent brunch. Wife had sausage bap, daughter had seasonal pancakes, I had small English breakfast. All washed down with very good cup of coffee. Will definitely return next time down this way.

Away for the weekend and staying nearby, allowed us to visit here upon recommendation. Fab service and gorgeous food that's been cooked with care and very well presented. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon was divine withe hollandaise sauce not being sickly strong. Tea lovely and large, no ridiculous little cups here - whilst the wife reported her set meal/fry up was perfect and the coffee well flavoured. Highly recommended the food/drinks. This popular cafe will benefit from plans to expand the seating as its currently a first come/first serve basis and so seating, especially for families can be an issue

We found this place while staying in Dawlish Warren. We strolled up the hill and dropped in for a bite to eat. While it is well presented and clean, it is a bit pricey and we would go elsewhere in the future. The food selection is very good however. It is just a bit expensive for my budget.

Excellent food, the cafe could do with being a bit larger, really well done done mushroom breakfasts, really puffy pancakes and very big portions.

Came here as a family with two young children. Staff were lovely and polite and breakfast was fantastic. Facilities are clean too. Will definitely visit again.

Just got home from having a veggie breakfast at Fungi Forest. It is not my first visit as I'm local but always a pleasure to eat here. The atmosphere today was nice as school children were eating too. I normally come out of season but fancied a treat today. It was delicious thank you.

We only visited the shop and cafe which was scruffy, dirty and dismal. The staff were lack lustre but the sausages I bought were good. The outside area is unkempt and the whole place needs to be redone to bring it up to today’s standards.

Came upon this café accidentally but so glad we did , the staff were polite helpful and efficient and the food was also very good. Would definitely recommend and would also definitely go back myself.

Had to wait 30mins.for drinks and 1hr. For food pancakes were very fatty and did not look like any pancakes we have ever seen our granddaughter could not eat them. The omelette was swimming in cooking fat. Will never return.

Excellent cafe selling delicious food very reasonably priced. They serve brunch up to 2pm and my pancakes and my wife’s eggs with black pudding went down very well. Strongly recommended and we will return. And a nice farm shop too.

Really lovely farm shop with excellent produce close to our site in dawlish. Great breakfast with wide variety of choice. Hot and tasty and travelled back here from Salcombe just for the breakfast en route home to the midlands. A real gem .
