Absolutely delicious home made food. We met friends for a walk around the beautiful farm and fields before a light lunch in the cafe. The Welsh rarebit was the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot!) and the reason for writing this review - everyone should try it! Sausage rolls were fantastic too. Really lovely cafe and great farm shop too!

Euyton Point to Point was bathed in beautiful weather, for a perfect day at the races. Indeed the racing was good with the usual spills and thrills of amateur riding. The catering however was left wanting. All down the front shelf empty sauce bottles. Two cheese burgers which was quite literally burger slice of cheese and piece of lettuce (onions were an option), just under £20. For sauce I was told to go to the next van. Total rip off, poor service, taste and quality. Will be giving them a wide berth at any future events / shows. 100% picnic and /or bbq next time.

This is the first review I've left anywhere ever. It needs saying that the team at Fordhall Farm are really top notch. The outstanding quality of service as well as the quality of their produce is totally unbeatable. Absolutely my favourite farm and well deserving of my frequent custom which will continue into the future. Shopping with them is always a pleasure. They always work hard to fulfill my requests while being extremely polite and professional. There aren't many great companies like this one. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I decided to stop off, to break my journey. I'm glad I did. I had my dog with me and she was welcomed in to the cafe too. I wish I was more hungry, but just wanted a coffee, but gave in to a gloriously sticky ginger cake. I had an oat milk latte, which was lovely. The staff were helpful and gave my dog some biscuits. I also went in to the farm shop. The butchery counter was beautifully stocked. The shop was nicely laid out. I'm going back tomorrow to buy some fresh items.

Although I have an interest (1 of 8000× owners, and also and new-wish board member) to declare, this I assure you doesn't affect my review. I can and have been critical - but constructive I hope - in the past. This though is my first review of Arthur's Kitchen on TA. I arrived after a longish drive from London just before 11.30 and thought maybe breakfast (I'd had none), elevenses or a light lunch. Choices, choices, or maybe combine all three- breaunch! But the steak pie appealed, and a bottle of Twisted Spire. Even burning my tongue a bit didn't spoil it. I've had roasts, soup, sarnies, breakfast and the like before. And rarely disappointed. And today was excellent- meaty and savoury, a nice crust, and pots, carrots, and cabbage - just right, and not OTT ... but maybe a nap later ;-)

I don’t normally eat salad, let alone review it, but the allotment salad - part of my new ‘try not to eat any carbs’ routine - was so phenomenally fantastic I had to leave a review. Every munchable under the sun is included in this kaleidoscopic plate, leaving me visually nourished as well as physiologically. Who knew salad could be this good?!? I defy anyone to find a better one…

Went there on a Saturday afternoon for coffee & cake - when the cafe was half full with 4 members of staff serving food/drinks. After placing order waited for half an hour but no drinks/food. Enquired at the counter and told that there was two more orders in front of us. However, we had not seen any orders going out for over 20 minutes and the staff were talking behind the counter. The kitchen staff were busy clearing the kitchen but not with dealing the orders taken.

I decided to book a table for lunch while I left my dog for grooming rather than heading home. I invited a friend along too. It was an excellent decision as we enjoyed a lovely lunch of Welsh rarebit with extra mushrooms washed down with farmhouse cider and followed by a hot drink. All was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Perfect. Time flew by and I noticed there was no mobile signal in side the cafe when I checked the time.Sure enough when I got outside I belatedly received an earlier text to tell me my dog was ready for collection. Oops. No problem fortunately.

We really do want to support Fordhall as it is a Community owned Farm. Unfortunately, the last 4 visits have been disappointing. I visited one lunch time with three friends. The meal was a long time coming and they messed up with the last order (they gave it to someone else) as my friends were on their lunch-hour, it meant they had to rush their meal. I have visited with another friend and had to wait quite a while for a coffee. I have noticed that when groups are upstairs, there are not enough staff to serve the Café. I went for breakfast with my husband and in spite of the cost, the meal was not up to a decent standard. The bacon was so hard it was impossible to eat. I complained and received some replacements but they were still hard and difficult to eat. This morning, I visited with another friend. We only wanted a coffee. Unfortunately, there was a meeting going on upstairs again. We ordered our coffees and waited. The waitress forgot our order and we had to remind her. She did apologise but nevertheless it was irritating. We really have come to believe that the "bread and butter" customers are being let down because of the meetings which seem to have priority. The food is not up to the standard it was. We used to love the Welsh Rarebit but last time we had it, it was half the size it was and had a lot less Rarebit. I have tried to contact Fordhall Farm with no success. There is no email address and there was no-one in the office, during office hours. There did not appear to be an answer-phone either. This farm serves the local community but if they do not do something about the Café, they are going to lose the locals as well as passing trade.

After many years of promising myself a visit to Fordhall, it was only on a horribly rainy day that I actually managed to stop there. Realistically, given the conditions it was only the farm shop and the cafe that I felt inclined to visit, but the warmth of the place made me wish I could take a walk and visit more of this lovely place. There seems to be something for all ages here, particularly on a nice outdoorsy visit day and a programme of special events that is definitely worth investigating! As for the shop and cafe - the shop has a wide range of stock - local and fair trade goodies of all sorts as well as their own meats and produce. I only had a coffee at the cafe but the menu looked interesting and the cakes delicious. Definitely a better stopping off place than standard roadside cafes or service areas and much easier than trawling round the town to find somewhere for refreshment.I definitely plan to return with more time and in better weather.

I have been here a couple of times before; the service is never excellent but the food is good so it's normally worth a wait. Today though we arrived, it was half empty, three lady's behind the till drinking tea, chatting and one playing in her phone. We were asked to take a seat and told that someone would be with us soon. 5 minutes later with no sign of service, no break in the waitress' chat we left without being served. Really this should be a one out of five based on today but I'm giving it a two based on previous visits. The cook is great so deserves better from her Front of House. Shame.

We had heard a great deal about the farm from friends who have family in the area. So we thought we would pay the farm a visit when we were passing to Whitchurch last Friday. We enjoyed Charlottes walk very much and as we were thirsty we thought we'd pay a visit to Arthur's. We both had very nice cappuccinos & then my wife had the Terrine and I had the soup and ham sandwich. Although we had to wait for a table, it was worth the wait. Our food was remarkable. We were considering this venue for dinner with friends so we gave it a try one lunchtime. Essentially it's a cafe which would make a nice place for a hot drink and a piece of cake after following the walking trails. However driving there specifically for lunch we found the choice and quality underwhelming. Both main courses came with soda bread which was very crusty and a bit of an acquired taste. The hot meal might have been better with potatoes and the salad with conventional bread. The service was friendly and welcoming but we will probably not go for dinner now.

When we sat down, we waited for quite a while until we thought perhaps we should order at the counter. I approached the girl who was there and she rudely told me to sit down and she would come to us. No please or thank you was added to the statement! We then waited for a prolonged time although the place didn't seem busy. When she did eventually come to our table she just said 'Yes?' it would have been nice to be asked what we would like instead of such a surly attitude. Fordhall Organic Farm turned out to be a really disappointing eating experience.During a recent lunch time visit, key seasonal products, quiche and salad, were not available. It was a hot day and yet it was hardly busy...but no quiche OR salad. Pie of the day was available, but with a 40 minute wait ( and yes, I know it;s cooked from scratch!) but that is just too long and life is too short!Instead of leaving we settled for a couple of baps, one with bacon and egg (both of which were overcooked) and a sausage and egg bap, which was OK, The Baps themselves were too large and too dry, even though they were lightly buttered. The accompanying coffee was a little too bitter and I had asked for skimmed milk, but received semi skimmed.Service was just about acceptable for this type of establishment but could be vastly improved without a doubt with staff being more considerate and knowledgeable.

We were on our way to visit relations in Market Drayton and had time to spare. We had passed the farm on a number of occasions and always wanted to "pop-in" to visit the farm shop. so this time we did. Car park good with wide spaces so doors did not knock against the next car! Outside space covered against the weather and well set-out. Entering the farm shop,[as a meat lover], I was really impressed with the quality and the price of the joints and the pies with the sausages on offer as opposed to the super-markets. There was a large selection of local produce and locally produced vegetables at a reasonable price. The Toilet facilities were well apointed and clean. The tea-shop was spacious and the choice of food was very good. The Gluteen Free cakes were very naughty, but nice! [Apologies to the people who know Dick Emery]. The coffee was out of this world, and I went straight back into the shop and bought a bag.{OK expensive but well worth the price in my opinion. Need to try it with the water in my area as it will not taste the same, obviously?} choice of food excellant and next time will test out a cooked meal and a local beer, watch this space.

Purposely chose to drop in to the Fordhall Farm as a half way stop on our trip back from the Welsh coast. We arrived too early for the lunch menu which was initially disappointing as I really wanted to try one of their pork sandwiches. The disappointment was however short lived as we opted for the Fordhall organic brunch. The brunch consisted of two very well cooked fried free range eggs, rashers of home reared bacon and the tastiest bubble and squeak I've ever had. The main menu looked really good with lots of choice and the home made cakes looked mouth-wateringly good. Pity this place is so far from home as I know we would become regulars.

Ford Hall Farm is always worth a visit with improvements being made all the time. After doing one of the several walks down to the River Tern you will be ready for one of the excellent meals served in the restaurant. The food is locally sourced (you might even have seen one of the pigs shortly destined to grace the table) and is delicious. Prices are reasonable, the ambience good and the service friendly. This restaurant provides a wide range of organic food, ranging from enormous breakfasts to full lunches. However, if you want just a snack or a cup of tea or coffee, no problem!Located on the Market Drayton bypass in Shropshire, the establishment is part of Ford Hall Farm, and is well signposted and easy to find.Ford Hall Farm has a history of 65 years of organic style farming behind it, and it is the farm's produce, supplemented by locally sourced food, that this establishment specialises in. I'm sure organic food tastes nicer than standard fayre. The staff are welcoming and helpful and the food is superb. With waitress service the place offers all you could want. We shop frequently at the farm shop, and so we eat in the restaurant ourselves regularly. The pork bap we had was lovely, like some of the nicest pork i've had in a long time lovely, however given the price, a little side salad or a few wedges would be a little better than half a handful of posh crisps. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because for me, it's too heavy on the carbs.I would love to see them offer a pork and apple bap with salad on the side instead of crisps, or even slices of pork with salad or vegetables so the whole meal becomes a much healthier choice.

All I can do is echo the post below. We popped in on a whim (a hungry whim, granted) and found a sunny spot in the courtyard. The pork/crackling and apple sauce sandwhich was like no hog roast I have ever had before - absolutely phenomenal. My partner had the lamb meatballs which were also extremely good. The only thing i'd change is the crisps for a side salad, but that's personal preference and no comment on the quality or quantity at all. Fantastic food, good prices and lovely friendly helpful staff.

My wife and I come from Aberdeen, my wife had bought stuff from here online and read the fordhall farm book. So we had made a special point of visiting whilst we were down near Oswestry.Being country bumpkins ourselves it was nice too see the farm and the animals etc. But the best place for the animals it seemed was clearly on the plate. We both had a Pork and apple sauce sandwich with crackling and we had never had anything like it. We will be coming back down too shropshire from aberdeen in October and we will be coming back for our Pork. The missus is Gluten Free and she was brilliantly catered for.We also went too the farm shop afterwards and bought some Pork Chops which I cooked au natural and my word were they good.See you in October Fordhall!!

But it was a little heavy home made but not quite risen enough but very tasty, really enjoyed it

What a fabulous day we had celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The care taken by all the guys at FHF was second to none - such detail and commitment - it was awesome. I worry about naming people (in case I miss someone out) but I have to say a very special thank you to Odilia, Nina, Nicola and the lovely Charlotte Allan - for making it a day to remember. So many snapshots playing in my mind today - the room which looked amazing, the food which was fabulous, the service was so friendly and caring - all in all a fabulous venue.

Popping into this farm shop as we were passing, I am glad we didn't drive past! A cosy little cafe on the side of the farm shop serves drinks and food using the produce from the farm.My partner wanted to try Welsh Rarebit, which was provided as a reasonable portion with my partner demolishing it before I could try it. I opted for the pork bap, which quite simply was amazing. Tender juicy pork, crunchy pieces of seasoned crackling and a small pot of crisps on the side, I nearly ordered another one straight after! The staff were friendly and attentive, such a brilliant place to visit!

I pass Fordhall a lot with my work and promised to give it a try, so we did recently, for Sunday lunch. It was a warm sunny day, so turned up early and opted to walk one of the longer trails around the farm, which was great but a little precarious in places. The information about it's history in the leaflets provided was brilliant, and made you appreciate all the work that has gone into making it what it is.The food tasted beautiful, but a little pricey at £12.95 (for one course) and whilst the tea room is very nice, it is a tea room and not a restaurant.

I have visited here before with my daughter in law and grandchildren but my husband had not. He was so surprised at the variety of products in the farm shop. We had tea and scones in the café and our youngest grandchild (3 years of age) was made very welcome. Before we left for home we stocked up with pork, beef, sausages, bacon and local butter. We also had a wonderful rib of beef (the beef is hung for 27 days) for a family Sunday lunch, the verdict - fantastic. If you are in the area please give them your support, you will not be disappointed.

We visited with friends and children and had the best pork bap I've ever had in my life! The bread bun was freshly made and so light and beautiful and just the most pleasant bread I've eaten! There was just the right amount of tender pork, and crackling on the side which again was perfect all the way through - no hard bits to break your teeth. It was also served with apple sauce spiced with cinnamon and the whole thing was a revelation! We also took one of the farm walks which was great. There are wooden wildlife shapes along the way with snippets of information about animals and wildlife which is perfect for children to learn without having to stop and read reams of writing. It's great to see the pigs in proper mud puddles and we all learned a few interesting things. Fordhall Farm has been very well thought out and I hope it continues in its success (and I too hope the Chef stays!)

This an unusual farm in that it is community owned by some 8000 landlords and is organically based with much to see. Visit the farm shop , see the animals , go to the community garden, learn about organic farming , go on walking trails etc

I first mentioned Fordhall Farm back in November 2011. My partner and I are regular visitors for lunch and we can honestly say that the food at Fordhall is still the best for miles around. The chef Barney Richardson is brilliant, we just hope that they can hang on to him! Food is locally sourced and, of course, much comes from the farm itself. Food is 'cooked to order', so don't expect 'fast food' or a menu with 50 main courses to choose from. Once you have eaten you can follow one of the three walks around the farm or just pop and look at the pigs. Just brilliant!

What a delightful find this turned out to be. Publicised by none other than Prince Charles, I can see why it has won such plaudits. Bravo! Will definitely visit again.

Lots of lovely places in Ludlow, this one is not in the top 10. It’s a bit more of a canteen than a quaint cafe. The foods OK but not generous. We couldn’t get in anywhere else as they all required pre booking. The staff were helpful.

Sort of stumbled across this lovely pub, last Saturday, whilst looking for somewhere dog-friendly to eat. We were welcomed in, and the food was excellent.

The cafe is efficiently run and we enjoyed the rooftop seating in the sun today. Unfortunately the scone was stale. Quite a shocker for me! What a shame :(

Visited this lovely country pub following recommendations from neighbours. The menu is small but full of home made dishes. As a group of 4 we enjoyed chicken and Stilton pie and vegetables, gammon, sweetcorn, chips and pineapple, chilli con carne and a really meaty pork chop, chips and peas. Really good home cooked food so much better than the normal pub grub. It also means the menu changes regularly. Sensibly priced making eating out a pleasure. Desserts just had to be tried. The whisky bread and butter pudding was suitably named and the apple crumble with custard was a winner too. The Sunday roast advertised at £9.30 will have to be tried another weekend. Delicious home cooked food is always so much better than bought in dishes. We praised the chef and June for a lovely warm welcome and a great meal.
