15 minutes wait for 2 tofu cold rolls. They might be freshly prepared, but this is much too slow. The rolls themselves only had noodles, grated carrots and sliced lettuce. No mint, no coriander, no flavour. Not worth it.

I am wondering why there are so few reviews for a restaurant that has been open for 3 years or so. FOODIE VIETNAM - GOOD PHO YOU - Bristol. I would have preferred 2.5 stars as it wasn't poor but it was below average. We were there on Friday lunch time when the whole area is really busy with all the eateries around St Nicholas Market. We wanted to sit inside so picked this restaurant to try. We sat at the upper tables nearer the serving area so that it wasn't so far to travel back and forth for the server, in what was quite an empty restaurant for the day and time. The booth seating is appalling, all taped up and unclean, as was the floor and tables. We cleared our own, and wiped it with wet wipes, then the server came and helped. All the paper menus are disgusting as well, since they are only paper, either replace them or laminate them to wipe clean? You have to go to the counter to order and we had the tasting menu and a veggie pho. The tasting menu is £36 and isn't really worth the money. The starter plates looked ok, a tad over fried, the rolls were bland and the dipping sauce was from a cheap bottle. The 2 phos that come later had bland broth (one had some chilli but not a lot), and both had just 3 pieces of meat in them! Bowls were chipped, and we asked for extra bowls so that the phos could be shared (expected that anyway as it was for sharing....). The veggie pho with tofu looked ok, but again was bland (very) noodles were ok as were the 4 slices of tofu, but there was little else, a few beansprouts and 5 slices of carrot. Broth tasted like it was made with a stock cube, not worth £9 odd. Asked for water on the table, and we were give 3 very fingerprinted dirty glasses, and decided not to drink these. Not enough serviettes and the chopsticks were the thick plastic ones. The guy who seemed to be doing everything was very friendly and no complaints about the service. Everything else though needs to be addressed, especially the overall cleanliness of the place as a whole. Also maybe hide the upper level where the storage is.

I’ve always walked passed this restaurant but didn’t think much of it. We finally gave it a try and it exceeded expectations! The interior was a lot bigger than I thought and it was nicely decorated with an ode to Vietnam. We ordered 2 pork loins with rice and a beef pho. The loins were juicy and full of flavour. A great mix of savoury and sweet, loved it with the fried egg but I tried a bit of my friends pho and it’s something I’d definitely choose the next time I go! It was full of spices and herbs, better than any pho I’ve tasted in England. The iced Vietnamese coffee was delicious too! Love a bit of condensed milk!!

Came here for lunch whilst visiting Bristol. We were looking around the market and there were huge queues but we managed to find a table here. Small, but nice menu. We did wait a long time for our food, as it is all freshly cooked, so not good of you are after a quick lunch stop. They were having to tell customers coming in after us that there was a 25 minute wait on food. They were able to adapt my dish to be gluten free, although they brought me out the dish with the wrong items on it and so had to go back and remove them. The food was tasty and fresh, although not massive portions.

Authentic Vietnamese by a real Vietnamese owner. Bánh Tôm and nem nướng are soo good - definitely recommend. Portions are a bit small but was reasonably priced. The coffee has flavor just like in VN and served in a genuine aluminum phin filtered(you can always ask for more condensed milk). But there's room for improvement, the phở should be poached more thoroughly as the phở in my bowl is still a little starchy. Staffs and owner were friendly and helpful.

Really poor bun cha with limited seasonings (we got some tired mint after asking). Ends up a big qabowl of damp noodles

I submitted a customer review for this place after highlighting its existence to Tripadvisor. But sadly, my review, which was complimentary, has not been posted. What went wrong Tripadvisor?? Anyway, from what I can recall, several weeks later, this place is good. Good staff, manager, food and value for money.

Increíble hotel. Fabuloso restaurante y tuvo la mejor bienvenida de Tibor detrás de la barra que hizo los mejores cócteles absolutos y nada era demasiado para él. Excelente servicio.

Amazing food and lovely staff! It’s more on the expensive side but definitely worth it for a nice treat.

I was served for a take away even though they were not open yet. Thank you for that - we were really hungry!
