Support private enterprises - yes! Should they deliver - always!! Such poor quality food, bitterly disappointed - not this eatery ever again!!!

I can confidently say this is the worst value for money for food I've ever experienced. The food was so poorly flavoured that there was no depth and the balance was almost unbearable to eat. It still wouldn't have been worth the money at half the price. Not sure why it's gone so badly wrong.

I ordered from here last night, absolutely ravenous and really excited to try a Vietnamese place I hadn't yet. That excitement quickly turned to upset when the food arrived. I ordered 2 garlic beef bowls, which contained approximately 4 bits of very sad looking beef. The broth had absolutely zero flavour to it and looked like dishwater. The only way I could eat it was to drown it in my own fish and soy sauces from home, and even then it was still a disaster. The only herbs provided was about 2 sprigs of mint. There was no basil, a slice of lemon instead of lime and a small handful of beansprouts. I tried to get a refund via Uber Eats but was not granted one so I'm quite fuming to be honest. Cannot believe I wasted 25 quid on two bowls of terrible, inedible food. I really wish I'd read all the Google reviews first because it seems the vast majority of people have the same experience. 0/10, do not recommend.

Really unpleasant chicken Pho, broth smelled like blue cheese and all the veg felt and tasted old. But of a rip off too to be honest. Never again!

Despite previous bad reviews, I actually really enjoyed the food here especially the pho and bun sa.

Very disappointed. Spring rolls seemed more like Chinese spring rolls from a supermarket - not plump, crunchy Vietnamese rolls. Pho is meant to have a rich, hearty broth, but this was just water and had no flavour. Even the 7UP was flat!

Food was not authentic. I had to return summer rolls as there were no herbs in them except a flake of coriander. Pho was edible, although a bit watery, whilst the special fried rice lacked flavour and was more of a dish that you get served in an old takeway for a fiver.

The worst Pho experience. Don’t do this mistake and don’t order from here. The food is tasteless. Low quality. Horrible. So disappointed ☹️

Great service but the food was not good at all. Had no Vietnamese flavours or spice. We had the aubergine and tofu which was glutinous and very tasteless. The green papaya salad was not good at all. It was very empty on a Friday night and sadly I’m not surprised.

This was the worst pho i've ever had. I was given 5 small pieces of beef, the broth was pale and had no depth of flavour, I was given a bag of beansprouts, a small wedge of lemon not lime and 2 small sprigs of mint, no other herbs. For £14 this was extremely disappointing. Also there were lots of raw white onion in the noodles which was super overpowering and not authentic. The beef itself was tender and flavourful but there was so little of it. I would not recommend ordering from them.

Beef garlic Pho was flavourless. My husband says his broth was like dishwater. The gyoza were okay...very salty. The aubergine and tofu was edible, but uninspired. Ho hum.

I'm sad to say this was one of the most dissapointing meals out I've had in Bristol. Though the young staff were friendly, the service was poor - one guest overlooked when ordering, wrong drinks brought to table after an hour's wait. The quality of the food was very very poor - tasteless tofu spring roll starter, tasteless chicken and pepper blackbean main and other dishes which noone enjoyed. I just cant believe a proper chef was involved in the food preparation, and imagine the only way to way made it through the meal was to drawn them in fish and soy sauce. To top it off evertything was about 50% overpriced, and the service was included aitomatically when it really should not have been - it felt a bit scandelous. Seeing no trace of a management in the place it felt like the staff probably wouldnt have seen the service charge anyway. The one redeeming thing was that the young waiter was polite, and did ask about the food - when I said I didnt enjoy and couldnt eat he deducted it from bill. Nonetheless the bill was much too high, though 2 of us didnt eat. Best avoid this place until new management and chef have taken over.

I was expecting it to be good but frankly the food was fantastic. Given the quality it's reasonably priced. Service was friendly and prompt (it was a quiet week night).

Authentic pho, delicious with a good selection of dishes from hot and cold options. We visited on a Sunday evening and the service was far better than other reviews had prepared us for. The portions were plentiful and came in good time.

Terrible service, they don’t know how to run a restaurant. Food was not good value for money at all. The bbq pork dish was burnt. Don’t waste your time and money going there.

DO NOT GO! Service was appalling, we waited for 40mins, asked where the food was & they hadn’t started cooking yet & the place was empty! Madness! We left, but I’m glad we didn’t end up eating the food. Was not a good energy in that place!

I think the food is really dependent on the chef you get. We would normally order from here during covid times so yesterday was the first time I been to eat in. But the beef in bun cha were mostly burnt … we didnt say anything as we didnt want any hassle but they really do need to double check their food before they serve. Food is generally okay but greasy. I think it was random but the portion of pho was huge. The waitress was kind and thats where extra 2stars are from.

First time trying this style of cuisine. It was an absolute joy. Amazing atmosphere and great service. From starters to the mains and the mocktails, everything was on point. We tried as much of the menu as possible in our sitting. The starters alone would satisfy most peoples whole experience. Would highly recommended. We shall be back to try what we missed out on

Amazing food, the only minus is that they never have spoons for the soup when you order for delivery they give you a fork instead.

Food was ok but service was painfully slow. They weren't even busy: I'm guessing, if they were full, we'd have been waiting till morning for our dinner.

Don’t go here if you want Authentic Pho or anything that resembles Pho. We saw this place during its renovations and finally thought we’d try it (because they have halal options) - all I can say is what a waste of my money! We were greeted at the door and sat at our table. No one took our order for at least 15minutes, then it was another 40minutes before it was served, that too after having to check how long for our order to come out as they were not busy at all. All we ordered was Pho and Ban Hue. We also ordered 2 mocktails, passion fruit and lemon mojito, however these were NOT mocktails but can drinks served as mocktails to make extra money off customers. It was £5+ for technically a can drink. Also, to top it off, when the food arrived, it was luke warm and the Ban Hue was super salty! The pho was supposed to be spicy but it literally just tasted like chicken stock. The funny thing is, when we got the bill it included service charge on the total. If the owner is reading this, word of advice: better training need to be given to your staff, maybe actually employ authentic chefs and lastly don’t sell can drinks as mocktails… don’t be so money hungry!

Ate here recently. The food was really lovely, but it is over-priced. The decor isn’t the greatest and the service was a bit lack lustre. The food was super tasty, but as a whole experience it was average

Ordered food for takeaway, was told 10-15 minutes. Took over an hour for the food to be ready, resulting in myself recieving a parking ticket and wasting an hour waiting. Chef/higher ups ordered front of house to lie about how long it would take (was assured the food would be no more than 5 minutes on three seperate occasions). One meal decent, chicken pho bland. Would never go back, and would advise anyone with any plans to avoid. Gentleman at the front of house was very apologetic and polite, no complaints there, doing only as told.

We’ve loved coming to Pho Lounge in the past but this was a very disappointing experience. To cut to the chase, we found 2 pieces of metal in our 4 year old daughter’s meal and the waiting staff really couldn’t have cared less, two young men who were busy chatting behind the bar. No offer of a fresh meal or any apologies. When I brought this up with management via email, they didn’t respond. Such a shame to see an independent Vietnamese restaurant nose-dive in quality and customer care.

Best pho in Bristol, the brisket beef pho was spot on!

Had dinner in 2 on Sunday evening, restaurant was completely empty, from when we walked in till the moment of paying the bill the waitress has spent listening music from the phone with headphones on. Food was nothing exceptional.

We come here to check this restaurant out after it being closed for refurbishment/upgrade for a year. The interior and vibe are very cool, it has the loungy vibe, vietnamese art on the wall, cosy set up, cool neon lights and vietnamese music was played which was sick. The food was alright, of course it's adjust to western taste but honestly it can do with more flavours. What makes me give it a 3 star is the price does not live up to it's quality. It's a high price compared to other vietnamese restaurants, which was why I gave it a go, to see what they have that makes the price so high, but it's disappointing really.. The papaya salad was kind of a rip off (excuse the strong language), 10.75 for just papaya, some coriander, mint, fish sauce and shallots; +£2.50 if you wanna add meat. My friend ordered chow mein and it was not the best. The portion is decent tho, but again, not strong flavours. The worst drawback is the 12.5% service fee! There were only 2 waiting staff for quite a busy night, it was very difficult getting anyone's attention. I didn't have any tissue, my friend's dish needed to be returned and we had to bring it to the bar bc noone was there in our dining area. The food literally took 45' to come out and did not come out at once. The service wasn't great, we wouldn't have minded if we weren't charged 12.5% service fee for a really bad service on top of the slow expensive food, that was just the cherry on top that made us not want to come back. I'm really rooting for more vietnamese restaurants and I hope they will improve soon.

Nice service and a nice place , but the food was bland.ordered the pho and the only flavour I got was from the coriander that was on top . Great service though :)

We have ordered twice now past month because the spring rolls, the pho... etc are super yummy. The young man and young lady, both occasions were welcoming and helpful. Thumbs up!!!

We have always loved the food at pho lounge, authentic tasty food and big portions. Also lots of quality veggie options. Just found out that they are now available for delivery direct or on some of the other apps. The food was just as good delivered, the pho comes with the broth separate and all the normal trimmings for you to add as you desire.

Fresh, delicious and comforting. Pho fantastic. Great takeaway and I can wait for lockdown to be over to eat in.

Might as well have just put some supermarket ham in a pot noodle. In the beef brisket pho dish, the noodles and pork were bland and came delivered sepetate to the soup (the only thing with flavour) and when combined it was just difficult to eat.

Placed a £25 order through Uber eats, 2 hours later no food. Rang them up, they said it’s on it’s way. Another 20 minutes still no food. I called them a further 10 times, every single call was cancelled at their end. No food, no refund. Literally robbery.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal with you guys last night! We shared sown spring it’s, fresh and fried, both excellent. But the standout was the salt chilli pork. Was SO nice. Salty, spicy, juicy, crunchy and amazing. Definitely will be back

Myself and my wife (who is Vietnamese) love this restaurant and believe that it's by far the best Vietnamese restaurant in Bristol. Very authentic taste, the summer rolls are a delicious starter and you have to try both braised pork and bun cha! Superb service always. Cant wait for this restaurant to re-open after lockdown!!!

The food we had was absolutely amazing and so flavourful, as well as this the servers were absolute stars and so helpful and handy. A perfect experience all around !

We were looking for something like this early on a cold wet evening & Pho lounge hit the spot. We shared a starter of Vegetable Spring Rolls with a soy dipping sauce, then both had a Bun Sa, a Chicken one & a Prawn one. It was a large tasty bowl of Vermicelli Rice Noodles with lettuce, mint, coriander & topped with our choice of meat/prawns, lemon grass, beansprouts, chillies & spring onions, served with fish or soy sauce. Absolutely delicious, especially washed down with a couple of cold beers. Nice staff, good service & value for money. What more could you want?

food is amazing and staff are always super friendly and accomodating. we go all the time and is consistently good. the pho is top notch and also the chilli squid.

I had a takeway from here on November the fifth. It was the most tasteless food experience I have had in a long time. I had the vegetarian pho. The meal consisted of a tub of very bland broth, a little packet of noodles, a packet of veg and a few lumps of tofu. I assembled it at home, realising I could have made the same thing from ingredients I had already. As far as I remember, I paid eight or nine pounds for this dish.

I orded 2 dishes via Delivroo which are Pho chicken and Bun Hue tonight. It was delicious. I highly recommend Bun Hue that is tasty and I'm vietnamese, have been long time I can eat the vietnamese food like in my country. Tks chef, hope I can have dinner at your restaurant in the near future for Bun thit nuong. Gnight.

The food was not great. Tasted weird for me. I was craving for Pho and the made me so disappointed. The staff is not friendly and very impolite. Even I am a Vietnamese, they were mean to me. (or maybe because I can understand what they were talking about). As what I tasted, the food was not fresh. It is even worse with the bad mood after the staff provided me! I do not recommend this place at all. And in case you answer to this post, please look back what you have replied other customers that were not happy about your service. Your restaurant will never say sorry. So dont even try to explain or fight back. Learn how to do service first, grow up and then fix the food later. What will you gain when you win over your customers. I hope more and more people will see and know and stay away. At some point, when no one comes, you will start to understand what is polite, service and SMILE! Good luck!

We had the squid and pork spring rolls as starters, then the duck and catfish as mains. The starters were great - squid lightly battered, hot and just tender; pork rolls crispy, crunchy and yummy. The mains were okay - really filling though and the sauce/broth just a bit too rich for me. Atmospherically, this place is quiet and easy to chat and eat. It's very plain though and lacks being cosy.

First time visit for my business colleague who had spent her childhood years in Ho Chih Ming city. We had a chicken pho, hot sour soup, beef and pork deep fried spring rolls and sautéed chicken with lemon grass and boiled rice. The flavours were authentic and stimulating and the combinations of sweet, sour and chilli hot reminded us of delicious meals in Hanoi and Ho Chih Ming city. The Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk finished off a pleasant working lunch!

Receieved our order tonight and what a huge disappointment, I regularly eat Vietnamese curry as it’s my favourite but never have I had one like this which had the consistency of water with a few slices of mushy carrots. We also ordered vegetable and pork spring rolls which were tasteless. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, what a waste of £55 ( husband had a beef dish which at best was mediocre) needless to say we will not be using this restaurant again

This place has recently changed ownership from Pho Hanoi to Pho Lounge and judging by previous reviews I think standards have slipped. We had the Pho which was quite tasty, but also ordered a Vietnamese pancake. This came out literally dripping in oil. We tried one bite and it wasn’t edible. We tried to send it back, but we were told it wasn’t oil it was liquid from the bean sprouts. The owner actually got quite confrontational about it and insisted we paid full price for the pancake. Really disappointing and it’s not shocking that we were the only people at the restaurant on a Sunday night.

Great food, big portion, fresh taste and plenty of sitting down area. Would recommend to book in advance for busy period such as weekend

Had bun sa (vermicelli noodles, chicken, salad and dressing) which was fresh and tasty, massive portion, if they had a lunch menu I would be there a lot :)

Delicious every time. Great service. Vietnamese is my favourite food. This is the Most authentic and yummy Vietnamese food I've had in the whole of Europe. We are so lucky to have this amazing food in Bristol.

Went here on Wednesday night and had the beef garlic pho, vietnamese pancake and a Saigon beer, they're now a licensed restaurant so its not a BYO anymore - the food was delicious and the staff so friendly and polite. Definitely recommend

Superb food and good customer service.

We had very good service in spite, after a long journey, of arriving 15 mins late on Sunday. The meal was delicious with generous portions of meat and variety of vegetables in a lovely gravy. My rather elderly companion, who was celebrating her 89th birthday, is passionate about 'planes and we had a window table where she could watch everything on the runway as we ate and afterwards enjoyed a leisurely afternoon sitting at the tables outside.

This is a restaurant local to us, but unlicensed. On July 11th we went for dinner and asked if we could buy some wine from a nearby supermarket. Yes, they said, and charged us £3 each for the privilege - in other words a total of £6 for a £5 bottle of wine!! We foolishly stayed but anyone else tempted to go here should be very aware how much they will be ripped off. Never again for us.

Out of all the vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to in bristol, this is the best pho by far. Really recommend trying the chili salted and peppered squid it was delicious

Love the food here, quite authentic and the soup base for the pho was tasty. The quality of meat seems to vary from lean and melt in the mouth to quite chewy and fatty, seems to be luck! Other than that staff are friendly and prices were fair

Was so excited this place finally reopened after being a regular to the Pho Hanoi restaurant. And the food did not disappoint to the authentic summer rolls and the amazing salt and chilli pork chops. Only criticism I had was the waitress service we had to ask 3 times for tap water and we ordered the tofu starter and received the prawns, and when asked can we change it we were told as we had one prawn and started the course we would have to pay for it as they would not be able to sell this to anyone else? Our tofu starter never showed! Real shame as this left a sour taste in what should of been a great Vietnamese experience. Also we had a side dish of vegtables which were £8 i have no issue with paying for good food but felt this was alot for a side dish of vegetables. Don't let this put you off one of bristol best Vietnamese dinners will defiantly be back will put this down to teething issues with the new opening. Can't wait to return!

Fantastic Vietnamese food! I spent 16 days in Vietnam last October and it's great to have authentic Vietnamese food in Bristol. Lovely staff and nice decor inside. Thoroughly recommended and will be back! We had prawn Pho and summer rolls. Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk to finish. Very reasonable prices too.
