Fabulous food primarily as a takeaway. However they have 2 tables indoors and 2 outdoors if need be. The food is made to order offering a wide range of lunch items with fresh cakes and bakes made of the premises. The service was friendly and personal. They offer a variety of treats to purchase as gifts and would recommend the test box which is a taster of they treat bakes - delicious!

I have just returned from a short stay in Campbeltown. My first port of call is always this haven where you are assured a friendly welcome and delicious food. Lunched here all three days of the visit and can highly recommend the soup and paninis. In addition I left the town with a large selection of tray bakes and cakes as all my family put in requests when they know where I am going. To say they are delicious is an understatement. The staff are excellent both friendly and efficient, a winning formula. Thank you ladies.

Delightful cafe, only one table though. Principally a takeaway cafe. I choose the pulled port toasted panini and a coffee. The panini was excellent with plenty of filling. Good coffee. Well worth the visit.

On a recent visit to Campbeltown we would have liked to eat here but we never found it open, nor any indication when it would be open.

Hot, tasty soup with a fresh baguette sandwich...full of flavor and great staff. What a treat, just enough to stave the hunger without overfilling. Just plain great

We usually stay at the Hotel in Campbeltown, and on this visit a friend took us to this modest restaurant following various good reviews. The night was not a good one for weather and therefore there were not the usual amount of guests. It is well run and the food was excellent I certainly had more than I should have. It was well presented well cooked and a joy to eat. The staff were very pleasant and fill of helpful advise when required. Will certainly not hesitate to visit again when next in Campbeltown.

Great tasting soups, hot pies and coffees and the biggest and best pancakes you'll ever find. The cakes are great too and they make up salad pots to your requirements.

Even though it was mid November two of us visited Campbeltown on a golf trip. Food for Thought looks like a cafe, but evening dinners are restaurant standard, in this newly opened restaurant in the centre of Campbeltown. We ate all over town but Food for Thought was so good, we came back for more. The food was excellent and the service attentive. Starting a new restaurant business is hard, but this husband and wife team deserve to succeed.

Lovely little cafe with really good coffee, nice cakes and friendly staff. We've been back a number of times and I always recommend Food For Thought to visitors who want to know where they can get good coffee in town.

Nice little cafe in centre of Campbeltown. Three of us had a light lunch. Tasty and reasonable value. Wide range of local malt whiskies.

Visited today for some focaccias with bbq chicken and kintyre cheese. They were just what we needed. About 10/15 tables. Nice staff. The cakes looked amazing aswell but we didn't try any. Good for a spot of lunch, but they also had main meals which looked nice too.

I understand this place has moved and recently opened! Food was nicely cooked for lunch - scampi, haddock, sausages. Not too expensive. Staff were polite and attentive. Looks slightly out of place in Campbeltown but no reason why it shouldn't succeed! Good luck!

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here on our last night in Campbeltown. The weather was very wet and not many people were out and about, so, not being attached to a hotel, the restaurant was quiet.

Wife and I had a lovely three course meal at a very reasonable price in this recently opened restaurant during our enjoyable break in Campbeltown from start to finish the food was delicious for mains I had chicken stuffed with haggis wrapped in parma ham. Wife had Salmon. The restaurant had very welcoming atmosphere. All in all Food for Thought is a welcomed addition to the town centre Will definitely be back

We had booked, on arrival- table not set, advised by waiting staff that they did not have enough cutlery, she was drying cutlery on our arrival. Waited 40 minutes for main course, one main meal was not hot. Staff are not trained adequately, tables too close together. Advise that dinner menu should be posted in window as we thought it was a cafe. I think " bistro dining" rather than " fine dining" would be more appropriate. Does have potential with more training and thought.

Brand new establishment - friendly warm service. Coffee and cakes all-round. Happy to please and serve our party of 10 for morning coffee. Asked for the scones to be warmed - no problem, choc cake also. The full menu looks delicious although perhaps a little pricey.

Sandwich shop. Although freshly filled, the quality of ingredients does not justify the prices charged. Basic sandwich fillings, charged per item, can turn out quite expensive if you love salad. Soup had to be taken back for reheating as it was cold at bottom of cup.

Popped into this fast food outlet for a quick bite and was astonished by the quality of the food which was being prepared in front of me. The owner makes everything fresh and the quality is fantastic. In addition to all the trusted favourites he makes scones and cakes as delicious as they are large. The service was quick and friendly and seemed a firm favourite with locals. A steady stream of locals passed through and the homemade soups appeared to have a big following. It was amazing to get hotel quality food from a fast food outlet. Don't miss out if in the area.

I have just returned from my annual holiday to Kintyre and district and was lucky enough to pop into this new take away. It is much more than a fast food outlet however. The proprietor makes everything fresh on site and the choice is large and mouth watering. In addition to all the usual dishes he makes his own pies and sausage rolls, bakes his own scones the size of plates and tray bakes and strawberry tarts so huge you risk injury lifting them. The quality of the food was outstanding and if the constant stream of customers was anything to go by the people of Campbeltown know a good deal when they see one. If you are in the area dont miss out. Five star quality in a small take away who would have guessed?.
