Always stunning! The baguettes and sandwiches are the best in the area in my opinion, (try Chicken Tikka with mint jelly, or the lamb and mint!) and there's a big selection of deli snacks, cakes, crisps, coffee etc. The staff are all lovely too. I'd get my lunch from here every day if I could!

Fantastic Deli with wonderful baguettes made to order. Great array of cheeses and cold meats. Lovely bread and cakes and pasties and sausage rolls made on the premesis. I’ve been shopping here for years and just love it. It’s a local family run business with wonderful staff. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The tastiest selection of treats you'll find anywhere. The best ham I've ever tasted and a gorgeous selection of sandwiches all served by lovely, friendly, helpful staff.

We enjoy an office treat from the deli. We often order more than 10 baguettes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes for lunch the food is fantastic. They are very well organised with social distancing at all times. The food is always fresh and tasty. Hot food is always hot when we get back to the office. I grew up in Barry & The Deli was always a luxury for me when I was a teenager. I moved to Gloucester around 7 years ago, but whenever I come back for the day, it’s the first place I head to before visiting anyone/anything else. The staff are lush & the baguettes/food are fab, too. Don’t ever change!

We have visited here for many years and the shop is always busy. The baguettes are stunning with a vast choice of fillings. When ever we are in Barry we always pop in for a baguette. Would definitely recommend. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very nice.

They do seriously good sandwiches and baguettes here. The bread is always really fresh and the fillings are generous and really tasty. The people who work here are really chatty and friendly.

There are a number of different combinations of fillings available. All of them delicious and will make your lunch go with explosions. Try it! Recommended.

Nice variety of products and a great baguette bar with a great variety of filling. Plus very tastie veggie samosas.

This small deli has a fantastic range of cakes and sandwiches. Always a wait, a queue at lunch time.

After walking around Barry and then heading up to the high street coming across this place felt like the only place to try and have something for lunch (used to living in a city and lots of places available). Had a great selection of items to have for lunch , we both had turkey and stuffing which was great to see them actually freshly made! Very busy place but the queue went down fairly quickly! Staff were friendly and seemed to be having fun and a laugh with one another! Food tasted great would definitely recommend , just as shame there’s no where you can sit and eat.

I Googled the best breakfast in Barry and Food for Thought was top or at least up high - but actually, they are very nice but they don't serve breakfast-!!

Having grown up in Barry I have been to Food for Thought more times than I can remember. Never had a bad tikka baguette from there, they are well priced, always fresh and absolutely lush. The pasties are worth buying as well, they are really nice as well as the sausage rolls.

Popped in on Saturday morning for a baguette, we both had chicken tikka which was lovely, not premixed, but a portion of chicken that was coated, great choice of salad items, oh also had a cheeky shortbread and jam slice that was awesome. Many thanks.

I often drive from Abergavenny to here purely for a baguette, they're that good! The chicken tikka baguette with mint sauce and mayo is out of this world!

Whenever I’m in Barry this is my must go to place. We always order Chicken Tikka Baguettes which are made fresh for you very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious.

Been coming here for years - from the delicious offerings to the cheery friendliness of the staff means it is a go to for a freshly made baguette for lunch or to grab a quick coffee. If you are in high street try them you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended

After looking round the shops we decided to have Cornish pasties for our lunch, at 99p each what a bargain and I would highly recommend them as they are delicious, the staff are always friendly and so helpful, any food you buy you wouldn't be disappointed, well done will call again soon.

I would honestly recommend anyone visiting Barry or anyone who lives here and has not tried it to go try a baguette. Best i've ever had and everyone raves about them when they've tried one. Chicken Tikka and Mint jelly always a favourite. The deli is full of fresh pasties, sausage rolls, different jams, sweets, anything you can think of and all so yum!

There's no point in writing too much....everyone knows how lovely it is here, I always love looking at the different things on their shelves! The only downside is every time I'm in there I end up buying loads

This place has always had fantastic reviews with the locals! To be fair my hubby bought us some pasties to share the other day and they were totally delicious we were basically fighting over them! Have had a few lunches here (baguettes and what not) and they've always been lush! Hubby strongly suggests anyone that likes welsh cakes get them apparently they are gorgeous! Have stopped him buying them as he doesn't share!

Lovely baguettes here, was going to have a ham and cheese until they suggested the chicken tikka to the guy in front of me so thought I'd try that too and oh my days it was amazing!!! So much so I went back on the weekend for another!! Lovely friendly staff and the que was out the door so goes to show how popular they are!!

The only place to go for baguettes in Barry.If you haven't then you have to try the Chicken Tikka! My personal favorite is when you put it with Onion Bhaji, Smoked Cheese, Sweet Chilli Sauce & Mayo.Sounds like a weird concoction, but tastes amazing!

What a great deli, lovely fresh food, lovely fresh filled to order bagettes, they sell yummy mini cheese pasties also yummy mini cornbeef pasties, they have a great choice of condiments, and cakes. They have a saving club for Christmas which is really useful. This is the best deli in barry, a must for any one who wants good food at a very good price

Spent way too much money in here over the years but it's so worth it! Chicken tikka baguette and a Twinky is a must. So glad I only live 2 streets away

Can't fault the Deli. The friendliest staff (albeit a tad bonkers) and the best, freshest food. The baguettes are amazing, made exactly as you want it, the pasties are way too moreish and the cakes.....nom nom! I've eaten here for over 18 years and I can't recommend it enough. Only down side is the parking on high street which often dictates if I can call in for a cheeky Saturday lunch. Overall a great family run business producing lovely food.

We visit "The Deli" at least once a week. Great choice of fresh food. Baguettes and sandwiches made to your liking. Chicken tikka mayo is a must!!Very friendly staff. Best place in the town for a take out lunch.

Just cannot fault this place and have been coming here for years, they pride themselves on offering the best quality foods and all the staff are fab, very friendly. You can't fail to get your favourite sandwich here as they make it front of you to your specifications, however fussy you may be - make sure you try the homemade pasties.

If you're looking for a baguette or sandwich on the go, this is the place. Usually 4-5 people serving behind the counter and very efficient. Huge range of fillings and they are bespoke to your requirements.They also have a big range of pasties, pies and the like, as well as the usual Deli stuff.

Lovely sandwiches, pies and pasties and great ingredients from all over the world. Great for picking up ingredients you can't get in the supermarket and if your going to have a picnic you can't go wrong with the choice of sandwiches and other snacks.

I have used this deli many times over the years in fact they catered for my sisters wedding and for my mothers wedding anniversary one year. This food is always excellent and of a high standard. In work we have our lunch every Friday from the deli and they cater for any lunch meeting we have. If you are looking for first class deli food you cannot go wrong with food for thought

By far the nicest baguettes and pasties in town. lovely little deli with homemade pasties and pies etc all very reasonable prices. The extent of the baguette/sandwich/panini range is really impressive, you could eat there everyday for a year and not have the same combo twice =) £1 for 5 pasties is just insane and they are sooo good. (They even serve coffee) This is an absolute must visit if you are within a 10 mile radius you will not be disappointed!! YUM YUM YUM

This place is amazing! I live in Penarth and I travel all the way just to get a freshly baked baguette, created with the perfect amount of filling by the lovely group of staff. Cannot believe this place doesn't have more reviews!! It's a hidden gem!

I've lived in Barry for over 2 years now, and I honestly can't think of a better place to go for lunch/treats/specialized food. The atmosphere is great, the staff are really friendly, and they pride themselves on being a local business which is a bonus. The food itself is sensational, especially the staple that is their Chicken Tikka baguette.I can't recommend it enough - it's one of the best deli-type places I've ever been to.
