Great staff, lovely atmosphere and tasty food, great value, all together a really pleasant day out. This is how all pubs should be, it makes it worth while knowing your going to get great service in clean surroundings within a quality setting, well done.

We had lunch at this venue with a group of friends. After two very overpriced soft drinks we sat down to eat. After what seemed an age, the food came. To be fair I heard no complaints about the quality of the food but given the eye watering amounts we were being charged for simple pub lunch dishes, the portion size was tremendously disappointing, and for the record, neither I nor my wife are big eaters. On the plus side the ambiance in the restaurant was good and the fixures and fittings seemed clean , tidy and well maintained. However, producing small portions at high cost and providing slow service is not condusive to encouraging return visits. We will certainly not be returning!

Went with 4 friends. Didn't like the fact that it wasn't table service. as we were all paying on our cards we headed to the bar one by one. Food when it came was quite nice. We decided to have dessert so all trawled to the bar again. I ordered chocolate brownie and specified twice that I did not want cream. When the brownie came it was covered in cream. It was replaced and the waiter was apologetic. All in all not bad but little improvements could make it better.

Just been to the Northallerton inn with a group of friends tonight - food was terrible ! Ordered chicken with pasta - soggy chicken and dry spaghetti arrived - I couldn’t eat it Others had the chicken skewers - tiny - thigh meat - and the bread was as like a hard flip flop Felt sorry for the young waiter who asked us if everything was ok - Totally unacceptable food - over priced rubbish - will not be returning 🤬

Booked a specific table to celebrate our wedding anniversary, when we got there our table was taken, unhelpful member of staff said that they couldn't guarantee a specific table, even though the person we made the booking with said we could. And wrote the table number in the book ! so we had to sit alone in a back room the only place available, also, the food was very disappointing. Linguine overcooked and completely tasteless, chicken tasted soggy, small portions and overpriced too, completely ruined our anniversary with very poor customer service, and poor food, not even an apology for not resolving the table booking issue ! will not return or recommend to anyone.

Perhaps just a bad day at the Northallerton Inn for Sunday lunch but I was really disappointed. I ordered beef which considering how long it took to come the beef had been sat out for a while as it was dry on one side and a chunk unchewable. I was asked if I would like any sauces so I asked for horseradish and I still haven't received any. Puddings also took a long time to come but without the coffee that I ordered which by which stage we were in a rush so they refunded me. We have been several times before and it has always been good but as one of the most expensive places for Sunday lunch in town it needs to be on top of its game and this time I felt it was a long way short. We won't be returning in a hurry.

We booked the Northallerton Inn for a Baptism celebration. We had 50 guests and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience absolutely perfect. The food was beautiful, lovely arrangement with variety and all the guests were complimentary about how much they enjoyed it. The staff looked after our cake before the event and reserved the area for us, they were welcoming and service at the bar was quick. The chef also was extra attentive and cut the cake for us, also food was replaced when it looked like it was running low. The manager was really friendly, checking in and made us feel really special. I would definitely recommend this venue for an event, the building is beautiful, the food is great and the staff are brilliant. We will be coming back! Thank you!

Went for lunch with a friend who recommended the sticky sausage sandwich with chips. Very disappointed as ciabatta came with 2 halved sausages and no sticky sauce to be seen. A basic sausage sandwich. Chip were great but no sauce so made it very dry. Asked for English Mustard but only had French :( had to order mayo. Very expensive sandwich which was disappointing. Coffee and service fine and place clean. But don’t think I will return for food again. Could have been so much better with a little effort. No English Mustard ..not a good sign.

I have stayed at this fine hotel on many occasions for work, it is excellent. The food is great, the showers are great, rooms are clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Can you sense a however coming? I stayed in room 24 on this occasion, it’s nearly half 9’at night and it sounds like there’s a car chop shop going on underneath me (it’s not, it’s the kitchen I think) So forget an early night, I’d recommend room 7 for a nice nights sleep

Had an evening meal with a friend, and although the surroundings and service was wonderful, the price of the food is high! £17 for a vegetarian curry!! It tasted nice (nothing special). My friend had beef which was £2 cheaper than mine... which we didn't think made sense. So great evening, but tad overpriced. Would visit again for drinks but not to eat.

Lovely hotel the room was beautiful comfy bed and lovely clean bathroom. We had dinner I had fish and chips which were excellent. My husband had pie and chips the gravy was dreadful just tasted of salt Breakfast was tasteless presented well, eggs very pale. The bread which was toasted was so thin. Such a shame as it’s in such a good spot and a beautiful new hotel. The staff very friendly and accommodating.

Went for a meal with friends, the staff were welcoming and quick with the drinks. The chips however were just warm with lots of dried ends of chips rather than full chips, same with the scampi peas were like bullets and dry and the tartar sauce had a thick skin on. Won't be wasting £16 on this again

We visited here on a Saturday lunchtime. Nice décor and not too busy. Reasonable variety on the menu. Unfortunately the quality of the food does not match the prices charged. We don't mind paying more than the average price (£17 for lasagne) , but expect a higher standard than just average 'pub grub' ! Very underwhelming and we left disappointed. The service was, however, prompt and friendly. Unfortunately, we will not be rushing back unless the food quality improves!

This is a lovely venue which is set up more as a hotel than a pub and the accommodation is excellent unfortunately our evening meal (which we could have had elsewhere) upon arrival was disappointing and the menu itself was uninspired. Given the beautiful conversion of the former police station and its location in quite a pretty town surrounded by farmland I would have hoped for a more “locally based” offering rather than the a variation of the box standard menu available in most pubs up and down the U.K. The breaded halloumi cheese certainly wasn’t authentic and the loaded potato skins lacked flavour, I had to return my slow roasted pork belly as it was almost 95% fat and gristle and the replacement burger wasn’t that great either. The main problem with the burger being that the burger isn’t made individually but is rather sliced off a sausage of pressed mince at the point of production and as a result the patty is of a single consistency rather like a sausage, again this is typical of pub burgers up and down the U.K. The staff are both friendly and professional.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!
