Lovely place, great service and great food. Will become one of our regular spot for lunch out. I took family and they loved it.

Have lived in the area for around 6 years and been to all the local pubs. Over that time we have visited the folly on many occasions and have seen it get so busy over time and it's always a great experience

We arrived for lunch this afternoon (group of 8) and despite the fact that the place was extremely busy we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of a vibrant, busy bar and restaurant. Our roasts were promptly served and were hot and delicious. The staff were really attentive eventhough they were clearly very busy. A lovely experience all round.

We were having our usual get together but it was also a special birthday and we really enjoyed our visit.

The pub is great, the food is good pub food and they have ok selection of beer. It’s just overpriced, a roast is £21 and you can’t get a glass of wine for less than £10, it’s bonkers pricing

When we ordered food we were told a wait time of 1 hour, but we ended up waiting an hour and a half. I initially ordered a chicken curry but was told that was no longer available, I then opted for vegetarian Thai curry, when I finally received the curry the rice and the naan bread was cold. We ended up having to settle the bill at the bar as our table was not tended to. Not the best experience

Good food, excellent friendly service.

The service was very good, friendly and helpful. Menu is extensive, but the food did not live up to expectations. Suggest that the choice should be reduced and concentrate on quality rather than quantity.

Came for a family meal, food was absolutely lovely, service was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

We had a booking for diner. They seated us, told us that food order could take up to 40 min, then they let us wait for 20 min. When we wanted to order, they told us the kitchen was closed ! Unacceptable !

We've been several times in the past, and it's always been good. However although the service was excellent as always, the food wasn't great this time unfortunately. I had the roast dinner which wasn't particularly good and my son's steak was overcooked. He wanted it cooked medium rare and it was almost well done. A little disappointing.

My previous visit was horrific, over an hour delay on food and a shortage of staff, I had vowed never to return however this visit was chosen by a family member. We had a really nice time, the food came out on time and all six of us enjoyed our dishes, the only grumble was the length of time it took to get served at the bar (the bar wasn't that busy either). All in all a good experience, thank you!

We visited the pub on Sunday 16th March There wasn't no steaks fish lamb' had the chicken ham and leak pie. You couldn't even break the pastry with a hammer were it's been in the oven so long' it was an absolute disgrace. Carrots as large as a cucumber on your plate' not even sliced. This pub should keep to selling beers only as the food is an absolute joke. As for the waitress' who asked us 5 or 6 times if every thing was ok' please just let customers enjoy their meal.

Been taken over now new owners so food is nice does get busy at times and the Guinness ain't to bad either

Came for a last minute Sunday roast and was able to book a table with very short notice. The food was lovely and was served very quickly. Upon paying, I had a query about my bill as I was unsure whether using the ‘30% off mains’ or my blue light card discount would benefit me more. Kindly, Ruby worked this out for me and was very helpful. Thank you!

Lovely ambience and friendly staff. Excellent selection of ales, wines and amazing gin menu. Very smart.

Not sure what you cook in or put on the triple cooked chips but it makes them taste very salty, waitress took wifes back but chips were still exactly the same inedible.

Great roast, we will be back very soon

Beef roast dinner was very over cooked, grey and chewy. Vegetables were very watery and too soft, potatoes were dry and can tell they are bought in. Stuffing was overcooked, hard and dry. Gravy was tasteless. Had the dinner swapped to a pork dinner which the meat was again overcooked and dry with the smallest piece of crackling. Staff were absolutely lovely and even agreed that the dinner didn't look great and stated " I wouldn't feed that to my own dog". Such a shame but unfortunately wont be coming back here for another roast.

First time I visited was for a drink. I found an empty table, but although it had been cleared it was sticky. Latest visit it was tidier. I had a meal consisting of steak and a small pie. The steak was nice but the pie had soggy pastry more like a pudding and was very dry inside, it appeared like it had been microwaved

I had an amazing Valentine's dinner at The Folly Pub! The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, and Isabel's service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious, from the flavorful starters to the perfectly cooked mains and decadent dessert. It was the perfect evening, and I can’t wait to return! Highly recommend for a special night out.

Came in for a meal last week, which was lovely. We had great service from Cara who was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Can’t wait to come back!

The last menu change introduced a couple of real treats: I particularly like the halloumi. Staff are usually entertaining, but watch out for the landlord: he will get you drunk in no time if you aren't careful ;-)

We were accompanied to our table, no drinks were offered even after 15 minutes so we went to the bar. After 25 minutes no one had even bothered to visit our table so had to get a member of staff to come over to our table to serve us. Pretty annoying they made the younger members of staff run around while the very large male front of house greeting person was stood around on his phone doing nothing not helping the rest of the staff. The food was sat around in food warmers, not exactly a proper roast experience, more that of one from green king or the likes. Seemed like a toby carvery without the choice… Roasties (2 small ones) were not crispy and soggy. Yorkshire puddings felt like they were cooked hours ago. Meat was quite good considering the rest of the meal. I had the trio roast. Beef was slightly chewy due to the fact it was probably sat around for such a long time. Pork crackling was good. Real shame in all honestly, from the lack of attentiveness from staff, to the poor execution of the roasts. A bit more effort in both aspects and it would be a much better experience. Good pint of Guinness may I add.

Good evening just looking to find somewhere to post a review regarding a terrible experience at the folly pub last night . My wife was away so I offered to take my mother in law out for Sunday dinner and food . I booked the folly at Westerleigh Bristol as it looked nice on Facebook . I hadn’t eaten all day so was really looking forward to it . When we got there the waitress was a bit shocked but I said I had booked online . As she showed me to our table she explained she had run out of Sunday roasts . So we carried on . We sat down and I ordered prawn cocktail   . Only for the waitress to tell me that she had run out of prawn cocktail after about 15 minutes . She then said she had very limited starters as there was a menu changeover taking place . We arrived at 5.30 and  @ 6.45 we were still waiting for a burger and a curry . After asking numerous times the waitress apologised and said it was on its way and as a gesture we could have a free desert so we waited and after another 20 mins I said cancel the order as we no longer want it  . I said we wanted to leave and we had a discussion about how poor it was and how we were both very Hungry . This had ruined our whole evening . She then said look it’s ready so have it on us . To which against better judgement we said go on then as it was that or eat nothing . After a few minutes she returned from the kitchen to say the chef had disposed of our meal . We left fuming and really unhappy with the whole service .

A truly divine experience and enjoyable evening with staff doing the upmost to tailor to your needs and going above and beyond to provide exceptional service. The variety of menu options and speedy bar service, makes it a must visit on all days of the week whether you’re looking for breakfast, dinner or just a pit-stop at the bar. Not only did they offer us a generous loyalty discount on the website, but they also allowed us to redeem some free drinks for dry January, with every drink purchase. Will be visiting again very soon, keep up the good work Folly crew!

We visited as a family group for an early evening dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. The meals took a bit longer to arrive than I would have expected. I’d nearly finished my pint by the time the food arrived. My meal was enjoyable though; everyone else said they had a decent meal too. The atmosphere was pretty good and the place was busy, perhaps in part because the weekly quiz was running at the time.

We all enjoyed our food. We went to the Folly for my Dad's 87th Birthday, he really enjoyed his evening there. The service we received was excellent 👌

I love the Wednesday night pub quiz here and Cara the host does an excellent job whether we win or lose so thank you look forward to next week

We went for Sunday lunch yesterday. The service was fine but I'm sad to say the food was disappointing. The beef was incredibly gristly, so much so that I couldn't even cut one piece. The waitress was very apologetic and brought me another slice but this was the same. The roast potatoes were also a let down - not at all crispy! I went to The Folly twice in December and the food was good on both occasions, although I only had fish & chips. As such, I was excited about coming for Sunday lunch but it was very poor for the money and I wouldn't recommend it. Very disappointed.

We had a Sunday Carvery with a friend joining us. First time going on a Sunday. Excellent roast dinner, generous portions, lovely fresh vegetables. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Service was good too. One of the best roast dinners I've had in a long while! Would definitely recommend! 🙂

Lovely food very clean surroundings. Best chips I've had in a very long time . Friendly staff. One tiny issue ladies loos are absolutely freezing 🥶 but other than that can't fault my experience. Will definitely be back !!!

We had 3 course boxing day menu. Straight forward to sort out pre-booking of food and great choice. Tasty and high quality food. Only negative was I ordered a double espresso which came in a single espresso size glass. I would recommend the folly

We just missed the early bird menu but wasn't a problem for us. The pub was very busy & fully booked so luckily we'd booked a table. Quick & friendly service at the bar for drinks. Once we'd decided on food choices, when ordering we were advised to be prepared for a bit of a wait for food as it was very busy & wait wait was potentially up to 1 hour. This didn't matter to us as we were busy talking & catching up, but we did appreciate being advised before ordering so we knew. Allergies also checked which is important to me as I suffer with a food allergy & this was taken seriously. Food arrived before an hour wait & was delivered by friendly helpful staff. We all had something different, all very much enjoyed it & will be returning again. Food was good quality, cooked & presented well.Lovely atmosphere in there in the run up to Christmas, despite being very busy all staff were lovely & friendly. Thank you!

The staff were brilliant, right from the greeter to the ladies who bought the food to us. Food was superb and the environment was lovely!

Went for a Sunday carvery and was truly the worst meal. Plates were boiling, food was freezing. Meat was dry and definitely not carved off a joint. Staff are smiley but the chefs are letting them down big time. Plus the abundance of kids running around screaming which isn’t the staff fault but didn’t help following a disappointing meal. Would recommend either being starving before having a Sunday roast here. I would have discussed with staff however no one wanted to ask as they must be aware of how atrocious their food is

The staff were attentive and helpful- this was a Xmas music evening event and we booked a table for two. Desire not pre-booking the festive menu, when we asked if it was possible, the manager said we could order from it- we only asked as the festive food looked SO good. Our food was DIVINE- if I had eaten that for Xmas Day lunch I would’ve had no complaints! It was, without doubt, the loveliest and best presented roast dinner I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant - the portions were really generous and the quality of everything on the plate was spot on. It just doesn’t compare to other festive dining experiences. We are thinking of booking for NYE next year already! Well done The Folly.

Excellent service!! Food outstanding!! Customer service amazing!! Lady behind the bar (blonde hair) was rushed off her feet, however was so helpful, polite, and great to talk to. She apologised for the wait of food and when clearing plates away. However we were having such a great time together we hadn't noticed the delay! Atmosphere even though busy was relaxed and very enjoyable. Thank you so much for a great meal and service. We will definitely be back! Merry Christmas to you all xx

We were a party of 5. Two had the sea bass which was nice (albeit many more potatoes than fish) However, three had steak. The ribeye was tough and couldn’t be chewed or digested. The sirloin was not cooked rare as requested, it was medium. The meat in the mixed grill was over cooked, except for the steak which was cooked rare although medium was requested. It was very busy and service was slow, but this is acceptable due to Christmas, and the waiting staff were pleasant and doing their best. But the chef definitely needs some guidance regarding steak cooking!!

Excellent service, with extra special care for my guest who has Coeliac's Disease and cannot tolerate gluten. The food was served quickly and was really delicious. Well worth the reasonable prices. I recommend the Folly to everyone. The only downside is turning right out of the carpark! The traffic is horrendous this time of year!
