I am a regular at Beijing restaurant, the food has always been incredible! It’s definitely worth a visit to eat in the restaurant! The service is also great!

Excellent food, incredibly friendly staff. My only slight comment is the price when dining in, quite expensive.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant for dinner with my wife. We ordered beef brisket with mixed vegetables and braised pork with vegetables. We assumed the dishes would include rice. I politely asked if the rice was coming, and the manageress abruptly said, "No, you didn’t order rice." She didn’t think to ask whether we had not realised that the dishes didn’t come with rice, nor did she ask if we would like to order any. We had to quickly catch her before she darted off to order the rice. Rice aside, the food was very mediocre. The braised pork with vegetables and the beef brisket with vegetables were both disappointing. Water from the vegetables wasn’t drained from the dish, which diluted the beef brisket sauce and made it taste very bland. The general quality of the braised pork was mediocre at best—not what we had expected, given that the restaurant was established nearly 30 years ago. I want to add two things: the service from the waiter was brilliant while his manageress needs to keep her manners in check. Secondly, the price was high, especially rice for 2 came to £9!! I would definitely not recommend dining here. Needless to say, it was our first and last time. Very disappointing experience.

Sweet and Sour Chicken was not too bad to be fair but the Cantonese Chicken in Sweet and Sour was absolutely tasteless, no sweet and sour taste at all. The Crispy Beef was also in Sweet and Sour and was equally tasteless with a watery sort of sauce. The veg that came with the meals was enjoyable but only because I had to put our own Sweet Chilli Sauce the whole meal to give it some taste. Had I not had that sauce available, everything except the Chow Mein dish would have gone into the bin. We only tried this place because our usual was shut for holidays. All in all, it was too poor to risk giving it another chance🥺

Come for family meal, food was very nice and staff were very friendly and helpfull. Even taught my sister how to use chopsticks and made birthday celebrations special.

We haven't eaten here for a while and decided to give it another go, a little nervous given the comments in some reviews. Tonight we had a lovely meal (set meal D) and couldn't fault any aspect of it. Unlike we read in reviews, we were not required to pay up front and a service charge was not automatically added. Staff were very friendly, the cleanliness was good, the food was prompt and delicious. We will not leave it so long to return!

Have ordered from Beijing for years as a takeaway and restaurant. Absolutely loved this place but the last two takeaways have been awful food. Over cooked, dry and tasteless food which really looked and tasted ‘old’. The food is ready to collect almost as soon as you order so it definitely isn’t freshly cooked nowadays. Such a shame as it was the best Chinese food around.

Have always loved this resterant food for takeaway ,I think it must of changed hands as the food was nothing like I usually have,it was not pleasant at all,it’s a shame but I won’t be ordering again

In all my 79 years this was the worst takeaway I have ever had, the meats were uneatable, being tough and rubbery, noodles were dry, no taste and the chips were soggy and cold. In all a total waste of money and time.

What an absolute stunning meal. Moved to the area 6mths ago and was waiting to try. Family of 4 and we had plenty to eat. The food was hot and freshly provided with warm plates also. Would highly recommend and would definitely consider again. The waiter we had looked like he was new and was doing a cracking job.

I booked a table for two families, including small children and babies, last weekend to celebrate Chinese New Year. However, I was utterly shocked when the owner informed us that we could only stay at their restaurant for 1.5 hours, maybe 2 hours maximum, simply because they wanted to accommodate more guests after 8 pm. Having a quick dinner proved to be exceptionally challenging, especially with babies and young children in tow. Had we been informed of the time limit beforehand, we would have opted for a different restaurant. Plus we never had such a rubbish experience with any other restaurants before. It's clear that the owner prioritized greed over customer satisfaction. You can imagine how disappointed and unhappy we were. Therefore, they truly deserve only a 1-star rating. Avoid avoid avoid 😤

Food always excellent but waiting for a takeaway is a lottery, 50 mins wait for fried rice and chow main and only got that because I went back up and questioned the waiting time otherwise would still be there. Happened once too often so won't be back.

Only person ordering a takeaway, ordered 2 chow mein meals and chips that's it, people came in ordered got their meals and left before me,20 minutes stood at the counter before food came, drove less than1/4 mile to home food cold, save your money folks...

We have been going here for years and always good but last night I ordered my usual King prawn sweet and sour but when it arrived it was just prawn balls and a separate pot of sauce - no pineapple or green pepper as described on the menu ( which has also changed to a cheap laminated card ) I also find paying at the table in advance a little odd which was started after the pandemic 😷 the others meals were good as usual but also th we rice was plain ? Any egg in it and no peas

This restaurant is the most recommended Chinese in our neighbourhood but I wonder why. I ordered by AllEat pick up - it was quick and easy, the hot meal was ready at the collect time, staff was nice. But the food 😭. Practically inedible beef satay, not to fresh fried rice, so much vinegar in the vegetarian hot&sour soup that it hurt my eyes, frozen and absolutely tasteless spring rolls and dumplings (also vegetarian). Gigantic chunks of chewy meat in chop suey and the Thai green also inedible. They went to the bin untouched. We are very disappointed :( Never again.

Was great before lockdown but service has gone downhill. For the price you'd like to think service would be great but more often than not: - you wait much longer for food than originally told (take away) - items are forgotten so you have to check it all before you leave (take away) - wrong items are cooked instead of clarifying what you want when you order (take away) - food isn't cooked to the same quality everytime. Can be really hit and miss. Used to love coming here but lately it's been disappointing.

This is an amazing restaurant and the food was excellent. it is a shame that they charge so much for soft drinks in comparison I could have had a 500ml bottle of Thatchers for the price of a pint of lemonade. But saying that the food outweighs the cost of the lemonade the chiefs cook the food to perfection

Best Chinese food in North Bristol

My daughters and I have just been to Beijing Restaurant to celebrate my Dads 80th Birthday. Chinese cuisine is his favourite, so decided to surprise him. The staff were absolutely fantastic and were instrumental in making it a very enjoyable and memorable evening, the quality of the food was outstanding, very well cooked and presented. We all loved it very much and my Dad was overjoyed with it all, he had a great birthday celebration. Thank you to all the staff for a great evening!

The food at the restaurant was really good and have a excellent service! Food arrived hot and tasted amazing. Price is reasonable especially with the inflation going on. Helpful tip: Paying by Cash will give a discount of 5% which removes the 5% service charge which is always a bonus.

Food was lovely BUT very expensive for a Chinese. Far more expensive than most others I've been too, so for example boiled rice is £4.50, egg fried rice £5. Most main courses £9.50 to £12. Plus 10% automatically added to the bill for service....since when did this become the norm outside of USA! As I said, food was very tasty but won't be rushing back.

Great food, good value for money. Need to pay for food after ordering before they bring it out, might annoy some, but means no waiting for the bill when you finish.

Had dinner her on the 7/03/23 All the staff were excellent, we were really well looked after, customer service was amazing, prompt and very friendly The food here was amazing, we had the munchie platter to start, the chicken balls were crispy and chicken was moist, the spring rolls were fresh and perfectly cooked, the salt, garlic and chilli ribs were juicy and flavoured perfectly, the prawn toast had actual prawns in it and were perfect as well For the mains we had chicken in Blackbean sauce, crispy chilli beef and some garlic pak choi, as well as the garlic salt and chilli chips Everything was amazing. Overall, it was an amazing experience. The food was perfect, the staff showed real care and attention, and the atmosphere was clam and relaxed I think this will become our regular place for both take out and dine in Chinese

Highly recommended! Very friendly and helpful with generous portions and tasty food. We saw several Chinese families eating there which is always an excellent sign.

Visited here on a Tuesday night, service was very slow 45 mins to get a starter and a good wait to get main course. The food and servings were good but sadly if you are sat next to window in the conservatory it gets a bit chilly . So sadly whilst Food is good and nice choice the overall experience was not great. I think staff shortages have played a part here

Had a Wednesday evening meal here and the service was very slow 45 mins to get a starter and 30 mins wait after that for main course so over 2 hours to eat. They seem short staffed, the conservatory area where eat can get chilli, they do have radiators but that doesnt really help much if you are sat next to the windows. You have to pay for your food when you order at the table

Back to their same old tricks for takeaway... You place an order over the phone, get told 40 minutes. You turn up in 40 mins time, pay, and then they start cooking it. I gave my order over the phone, the lady inputted two items incorrectly, I corrected the order with her on the phone, and she still got it wrong and I was still given wrong items in the order. I'd 100% recommend the Peking Chinese Takeaway in Bradley Stoke for take aways. TRULY a much better service there.

So cold in the restaurant that our evening together was ruined. We wished we had not booked our party there and other guests were also complaining. On a typically cold January evening, this is simply unacceptable. The Beijing has been trading for many years now, and the problem has obviously never been addressed. Staff were embarrassed into plugging small electric heaters around, to no effect. A dismal experience.

Great food, relatively priced. Would recommend the red wine and pepper beef (if you like peppercorns) and the sweet chilli crispy chicken! Only thing I would say is that it was very very cold in the restaurant, due to this it’s unfortunately 4 stars, otherwise would’ve been 5!

Ribs cooked perfectly. Sweet and sour balls and crispy chilli beef burnt. Food was quick to be delivered and hot. 3 stars

Really nice, the sweet and sour chicken balls were cooked to perfection, crispy to bite into and tasty succulent chicken on the inside, just wish you got more in the portion! Staff were very friendly and nice as well, would go back :)

What a terrible experience.. ordered crispy duck for starter , it came out not crispy, cold and fatty. We did receive another after complaining and it was just ok. After waiting for a further 40 minutes our mains hadn’t arrived so we asked where they were. Still no food. Feeling very unhappy we asked for our food to be packed up as take away. We didn’t want to be in that restaurant any longer. When we get home the food was shocking. Hard/raw prawns. Special fried rice with no sauce and stodgy. Cold tasteless crispy chilli beef. Cold small chips. It went in the bin. What a waste of £50. Definitely won’t be returning.

This is an OK restaurant serving anglicised Chinese food. Had the odd bad experience but overall it is OK. Somewhat overpriced and opening hours can be a bit erratic. Peking duck is very good. Update: Aug 2022. Restaurant still going. Food pretty much the same, although much more expensive (then again, so is everywhere now). Service still efficient.

Food was reasonably good. Cleanliness not so good. Table top not particularly clean. Visited the gents toilet after the meal, wished I had visited toilet before the meal as I would have walked out at that stage. They were disgusting. No soap, sinks were disgusting, hand drying was old blue paper towel rolls thrown on the window, looked like it was there since pre covid. Probably same facility's used by the staff, look out for food poisoning. Would not recommend, will not be going back. Hygiene not a strong suit in this restaurant. Struggling to give it 2 stars.

In the past has been ok. But this time - 1 of our 2 vegetarian dishes had meat in it. The curries were a different shade and consistancy under the surface and needed a great stirring to combine. Inedible crispy chilli beef. Worn plastic tumblers. Those poor fish in that tiny tank - cruel. The staff however were lovely.

Great food, nice and quiet atmosphere and friendly staff. The chicken satay skewers were absolutely delicious! It's been a while since I've had any Chinese food but this experience has left me wanting more.

Awful service, disgusting customer service both on the phone and in person. It took 2 hours for our food to be delivered, with no notice or offer of compensation.

Food was really good. The employee, though, when we wwnt to pick up the order, was very impolite and unprofessional. I asked her to repeat what she was telling me, as she has a very bad accent in english, and she started sighing and rolling her eyes. If I was not very hungry, I would have walked out of the door straight away. Thus the 4 stars....

My wife is a vegetarian and ordered the tofu. Half way through eating she noticed two lumps of chicken in the meal..... Terrible got a refund but no appogy just an excuse that they was busy. Cannot believe that meat found its way into a vegetarian meal. Will never eat here again.

Tasty Beef and Black Bean Sauce good chinese takeaway

We thought we would visit our local spicy chicken outlet, Thursday @ 18.00, although it looked empty, we were declined a table due to the fact they were busy with takeaway orders!!, we could have waited 25 mins in the car, waiting for a text to invite us in, the next nearest is Abbey Wood, the queue was outside!, checked Trip Advisor for any local restaurants, The Beijing in Bradley Stoke popped up, a quick call confirmed our table for 2, welcomed in by Anthony, a quick review of the menu led us to Set Menu B, mixed starters, Duck with Pancakes etc, Mains, Special rice, Beef with Ginger, Chicken with Cashew Nuts and Sweet and Sour King Prawns all served fresh, hot, very tasty, great service , with a smile from Anthony under his mask, , great food, great service, left with a very full tummy, will be back soon, Tim and Jane

We had a birthday meal here and was very impressed, friendly staff, good service and the food was lovely, good size portions and very tasty. The covid precautions were very good, tables nicely spaced, staff wore masks where necessary with sanitizer in place and a one in one out toilet system with a manual visual indicator on the door, providing customers remember to change it after use.

Have not been here in about 18 months, no reason. But glad we came back here and food was superb. Will be back alot sooner next time.

Long overdue review closed now due to covid .but last went in february dining experience 5 star , pretty good food , and service usually I find the weekend the food is better food for some reason , not to say other days is bad ,but weekend is susally better , their veg options are great too . takeaway are not that great , didnt like it tbh , but great dine-in

New to the area and tried a takeaway. Unfortunately was swimming in grease and soggy making it unpleasant. £28 worth of food into compost bin sadly. Maybe the sit-in meals are better.

Hadn't been to the Beijing for quite a while and enjoyed everything about the place. The food was great, the service excellent and the cost was reasonable as well. Definitely put it on your list of places to go. Thanks to all at the restaurant for making it such a nice evening.

An excellent meal, as usual, last week. A mixture of starters & desserts for 4, all of good taste & quality. The only slight issue I have is the prices of soft drinks for anybody driving or who doesn't drink. More than £3 for soda water, which is usually free or minimal cost at other places.

We’ve learned over time not to enjoy Chinese food too much - it’s usually just disappointing somehow. NOT THIS PLACE - lovely authentic tasting chicken satay, everything just tastes really nice and not of MSG. Lovely place to eat as well, in a quiet corner of Bradley Stoke. The only thing we did not expect is the deep-fried fish in batter covered in sauce so the batter is soggy... but overall definitely a 5/5. Well done & keep up the quality

It was ok, but not the best chinese food I've ever eaten. Definitely no service with a smile either which was sad considering we were there celebrating 3 family members birthdays. The poor Koi fish in the tank need to be rescued, they are far to big for the tank they are in!

Well decorated if eating in. I mostly get takeaway. Food is high quality, yet to be disappointed. Can get busy at peak times, leading to longer waits for food, but i can hardly blame them for earning their popularity. Website is decent enough to view menu.

The best Chinese place I know in this country! Tends to get full on weekends so book early.

Four of us ordered set menus, wow can't believe how much food came out! It was so much we left quite a bit (which felt wrong, but we were so stuffed!). Quality of the food was very good and the staff were attentive and pleasant. Best Chinese I've had in a while.

My favourite restaurant, I am vegan and have been well looked after by the fantastic staff. Emma, James, Twister and Grace, Mimi and Daniel. Excellent family business. Top service and food second to none. The atmosphere is perfect, spotlessly clean too.

A good Chinese restaurant offering sit down or takeaway meals. It definitely is more of a restaurant than takeaway, with very nicely decorated dining area. Food is consistently very good at each visit. Service is very friendly and efficient.

Had a wonderful dinner here last night. The staff are polite professional friendly and welcoming the atmosphere and lay out inside is spacious plus extremely clean. I tried something new honey roast duck with beansprouts with house special fried rice, Wow! Cooked to perfection tasted great my girlfriend had a different duck dish accompanied by a chow mein she too was suitably impressed. Will definitely be returning soon, this restaurant ticks ALL boxes most importantly the FOOD.

Exceptional choices, delicious food, ample portions, good prices. Friendly staff. I liked the decor and a welcoming atmosphere. My choice for a family celebration as well as a cosy get together.

You can't make anyone wait this long for a takeaway, I'd rather have the truth on how long it's going to take, 40 mins turns out to be over an hour.
