Chefoo Chinese Takeaway in South Gloucestershire

We’ve ordered from Chefoo several times now and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently delicious, portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair – our most recent order came to £59.70, including delivery and service, which felt like great value for the amount and quality of food. This time, we received a lovely surprise: complimentary prawn toast and prawn crackers – a thoughtful touch that made the meal feel even more special. Here’s what we got: 2 Singapore Vermicellis – Spicy, packed with flavour, and perfectly cooked. Sweet & Sour Battered Pork (HK Style) – Classic and comforting, with a great balance of tang and sweetness. Salt & Chilli Chips – A bit of a miss this time around; tasty seasoning but they came out a little soggy. Black Bean Mixed Vegetables – Fresh, crisp, and smothered in a rich, garlicky sauce. Prawn Dumplings with Sweet Chili Sauce (6 pcs) – Juicy and flavourful with a nice kick. Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef – The standout dish. Crunchy, sweet, spicy – absolutely addictive. Delivery was quick and everything was neatly packed and piping hot. Overall, Chefoo continues to be a go-to for a reliable, satisfying Chinese takeaway. Final verdict: Consistently good food, great value, and generous service. Highly recommended.

Food is tasty enough but prices are very high when compared to portion size. £15.80 for 2 dishes which barely resemble a main course.

After advising it was going to take between 45-60 minutes prior to ordering, this immediately changed to 1hr-1hr 20 minutes as soon as I ordered. Then - it still hadn’t arrived at after 1hr 20 minutes so I had to call them. It’s really not the best given it was only an order containing 4 items!

The food was absolutely abysmal. The Salt & Chilli Chips tasted of nothing. The sweet & sour chicken balls were dry & the sauce was cold. The noodle soup was basic at best. The only decent thing was doughballs

Great food unfortunately the delivery was late

The delivery was on time. I order from them regularly. I always ask for the food to be hot. I don't have a microwave, so would have to put the oven on. The food was cold, so had to put oven on. The spring rolls didn't have the vegetable filling that I usually order. The spring onions and cucumber portion was very poor. I am disappointed. I would like a refund for the meal.

Chicken balls out of this world! The sweet sauce that comes with it! Omg 😱 delicious!! Best in bristol so far!

Crispy beef was very well cooked, nice and crispy. Everything else was bland and had little taste. Portions are also pretty small for the price. We love a good Chinese and thought we would try a new one a little closer to home as recently moved but this wasn't the one for us. Sure others will like it though.

Several people had ordered a takeaway last night the amount adding up to £75, Firstly, it arrives freezing cold, And then several dishes didn’t arrive rang the restaurant last night with no success rang them on a second time last night management have been told but still no refund. Will definitely not be ordering from here again terrible service. This would’ve delivery straight from the restaurant

Hemos utilizado chefoo muchas veces. La comida siempre fue buena, pero nunca a tiempo. Habíamos aprendido a ignorar los tiempos de entrega estimados y a esperar una hora. Ahora estamos esperando casi 2 y la calidad también ha bajado. Esta noche llamé después de la 1. 5 horas para recibir un mensaje de contestador telefónico diciendo que estaban demasiado ocupados empacando pedidos para contestar el teléfono - por lo que ahora no hay manera de comprobar la comida viene. Esta será la última vez que los usemos - vergüenza, buena comida arruinada por negocios pobres

Order arrived after waiting over a hour and no chips came. I called the shop and I could hear a lady in the kitchen shout ‘l’ll need to go back to Just eat for a refund from Just eat. I’ll go elsewhere from now on.

Wow so yummy! Ordered kung po chicken and noodle soup. The kung po was crammed full of crisp fresh vegetables, crinkle cut, in a great sauce - spicy and sweet. Also so much chicken! The noodle soup was nice too, but very thick so not what I expected. Very reasonable prices and wait time; was not there for over 15 minutes. Everything was fresh and boiling hot. The premises is very clean, and the gentleman at the front was friendly and pleasant.

Food was late and freezing. The delivery was out for well over half an hour according to theJutsEat App. Really disappointed this time around

This is now my go-to chinese and that is saying a lot, as there are many around this area!! Freshly cooked, healthy and delicious food and at a great price, which I feel is rare nowadays. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is hungry. Thank you to all of the staff at Chefoo 😁

I ordered food from this place only to be insulted by the woman on the phone when they gave me the wrong food…… commenting on my speech. As a disabled man who has had a brain injury my speech is slightly impaired. When I said I would submit a review I was told I was threatening by doing so and they know where I live so to be very careful

Delivery was excellent and early than advised which was great. Very well packed and very hot, very nice starters of chicken skewers and vegetable rolls. Very nice mains of chicken chow mein and beef curry with lots of flavour but beef was a little chewy. Will certainly recommend and use again

This is the second time I have ordered from Chefoo and had to wait over an hour 1/2 for the food. When it arrives it’s cold, really disappointing as they were our go to for a Chinese.

Amazing service. We haven't eaten Chinese food for years and I don't regret stopping in Chefoo. Once we walked in we were greeted with a smile and asked if we needed help. We had chicken noodles, vegetable noodles, pork spring rolls and veg spring rolls with Chinese beer and I was very happy with the portion and taste of food. We didn't have to wait long and we got a bonus in the bag: prawn crackers - very tasty. The place seemed clean inside and there were 4 chairs, so we could chill while waiting for the food. I strongly recommend this place.

We don’t usually leave reviews, but we had to take the time to leave one here. We have tried so many Chinese takeaways in Bristol and they’re all absolutely rubbish! But this place is brilliant. Great value for money and the food is excellent, never had a bad dish. Highly recommend, our new go to Chinese.

Take away beef curry. The curry sauce was lovely, however all of the beef was inedible as it was all gristle with a nasty slimy texture

ordered two beef dishes, (beef chow mein beef curry) and in both beef dishes the beef was so fatty and chewy, couldn't be ate. the beef curry sauce was very tasty just the beef was such a disappointment .

Disappointed that I had an item missing from my order. Other items were very nice but disappointed about the missing item.

The chips were stale and the chicken balls had mostly dough around them with minimum chicken, usually it’s really fresh and nice 😩

First time we have used Chefoo and it wasn’t good, firstly the food was 20 minutes late with no apology from the driver. One item was missing and the refund could be up to 7 days. On a plus, the food was hot and tasty.

Have been ordering from Chefoo for years, unfortunately the business has gone down hill. Previous order was 40 minutes late, food arrived this evening stone cold and late again. If your looking for fresh, hot Chinese food, don't use this company.

Not blown away by the taste, quite bland. Expensive for what it was in comparison to other takeaways in the area which are tastier and cheaper. Delivery time was good but food was hot, not warm, and I live less than a 5 minute drive away. Won’t be ordering from here again I’m afraid.

Disappointed all round. Ribs were dry, prawn crackers were stale. The fried rice was black with the amount of soy sauce so had no flavour. The aromatic duck was delicious though.
