Run don’t walk to Foda in Monkseaton. Sarah had the French toast of the day which was brûléed figs, crème fraiche, walnuts, honey and cinnamon toast and Grilled lemon. It was unreal. I had steak and eggs with an extra sausage. The drinks were beautiful too with an option for some CBD in it too. Best food I’ve had in a long time

First time visiting after hearing quite a bit about Föda from friends/family. Went for breakfast around 10am on a midweek and were seated immediately despite not having a reservation. Setting is pleasant, although the outside space is less of a draw due to its proximity to a main road. Decor is a little hit & miss but achieves a relaxed vibe. One thing that could be improved is the temperature in the restaurant which, despite the early hour & the fact that the front door was fully ajar throughout, was stiflingly warm. Service was attentive & brisk. The menu will be familiar to anyone who is currently breakfasting or brunching @ any modern restaurant and my wife and I both chose one of the steak options, mine coming with eggs (Benedict style), avocado & soda bread. Both dishes were well received. What was very disappointing, especially given their espoused ‘healthy/wellness’ ethos, was the fact that they couldn’t offer any smoothie option (“we don’t have any…”). More than surprised by this and something that will hopefully be the exception if, as planned, we revisit. Overall a slightly generous 4 stars as 3 stars would seem a little harsh based on the quality of food & efficiency of service.

I’ve been to Foda a few times now, the food is unbelievably amazing, you won’t find a better spot at the coast that does breakfast and brunch like Foda. Beautiful drinks selection too. You can tell every detail has been thoroughly thought through. Stunning inside, if you ever want to go and find a spot with a calming vibe, delicious food, this is your place. Staff are super friendly, accommodating and attentive.

Föda is like a home from home. My young daughters (age 5 and 7) and I visit here regularly as there’s no where else locally that does top quality food like Föda does. My favourites being the Turkish toast or Eggs Porto. Service has always been excellent, the staff remember my daughters names and their drinks orders and we feel very welcome. My girls love the smoothies and selection of soft drinks, cakes and breakfast buns! There are times when it’s really busy and you may have to wait for a table (which just shows how popular it is) but we’ve never waited longer than 5-10 minutes and have always managed to get seating outside whilst we wait! My eldest daughter whose highly sensitive often asks if we can go to Föda when we are heading out for food as she finds it calming and relaxing (as do I!) The interior and furnishings have been really thought out to create a cosy, calm space - I especially love the essential oil smells and the little touches like the soft blankets on offer! If you are visiting the area or local to North Tyneside I highly recommend. I just wish they would now create a Föda 2 in Tynemouth!

I visited Föda for the first time this week and I can honestly say it’s the best breakfast experience I’ve had in a very long time! The food was beautiful (I had the French toast) and the coffee was so good I had one with breakfast and order another to go at the end! The staff were brilliant and the place itself is decorated beautifully with a friendly and happy atmosphere. 100% must visit if you’re in the area

Foda is my fav! Every time you step in, you know you’ll be getting great food. The ultimate local brunch haven where warmth and homeliness embrace you the moment you step through the door. The interior and friendly faces are ever ready to inspire your taste buds with delightful recommendations from their menu. Foda is not just a cafe. Whether it's a chilled life drawing session or a gathering with friends, there's always something exciting happening. Beth and Sarah, are lovely souls, always making you feel right at home with their warm conversations. They use, locally sourced produce, I think this makes their dishes even more delicious! Being from an independent business myself, I appreciate other that consciously try to buy locally too. Every detail of the cafe's interior aesthetics has been thoughtfully curated, making it a lush and cozy sanctuary. Foda is undoubtedly the best cafe you'll encounter locally!

Wow wow wow ! Finally a coastal cafe that *actually* serves more than an Aussie breakfast or full English. The first brunch place I’ve been to locally to us where the menu is different ! They use majority local businesses and the food is so good, we had shakshuka, steak and eggs, French toast and a mackerel on toast. Well presented and super flavours. I’m really saddened by some reviews on here as I know our experience (4 times now) with friends and our children has been second to none and we will continue to eat here. Staff warm, friendly & relaxed ! Don’t be put off by people that don’t understand a finally forward thinking cafe !

Cold. Style over Substance. Excluding over Inclusive. Pretentious. Rude. The exterior & interior aesthetic is beautifully welcoming & warm. Our experience was anything but welcoming & warm. The comforting furnishing was betrayed by an uncomfortable experience. The manner of the staff made us feel unwelcome. The staff's attitude towards my cousin, who brought a pushchair, was jarring. Rather than politely asking if it was possible to store it somewhere, they bluntly instructed her to leave it outside, despite the café being nearly empty at the time. The way they spoke to her was inappropriate. It felt as though Föda is more concerned with maintaining their picture-perfect aesthetic for social media rather than providing a welcoming environment for their customers. The café's aesthetic is undoubtedly stunning, with cosy furnishings and inviting décor. However, the staff's pretentious and rude demeanour overshadow any positives. The staff seemed more concerned with projecting an air of exclusivity than creating an inclusive atmosphere for all. You walk in expecting a warm & inviting atmosphere but are met with a cold & icy reception. The place is stunning but the way the staff spoke to us left me stunned. The coffee was nothing special, and the pricing was steep for the quality. There was a bitter aftertaste that matched our experience; we received service with disdain. Föda charges extra for alternatives to cow's milk and their vegan options are few and far between. The portions are small enough to take a pretty photo for social media; the portions are pretty pointless for the price. Föda is aesthetically attractive but ugly beneath the surface. It projects an exquisite & exclusive image rather than creating a hospitable environment for everyone. The atmosphere was devoid of any warmth or friendliness. A place for vanity & the vain. (I should have spoken directly to the staff to address my concerns before posting a review, but their cold and unfriendly demeanor made it awkward to approach them. There are two charming cafés with friendly faces on the same street - let alone in the area - that are more worthy & deserving of your time & money.) Föda looks pleasant. It feels unpleasant. It looks comfortable. It felt uncomfortable. Don't judge this café on its façade. It is all a façade.

Gorgeous decor, feels a really lovely light, stylish and comfortable place to sit and have a coffee however the decor is probably the best bit of the experience. The coffee was weak and tasteless, and the food, which was presented really nicely (and very instagram-able) was all just incredibly bland. They could really do with putting some salt and pepper on the tables if all the food is as under seasoned as ours was. The staff seemed pretty miserable and you definitely don’t get a friendly or welcoming vibe from them. Overall, really disappointing as this you would think by looking at it that this could be a really special place.

Pasties are a total rip off. The management are incredibly rude and there are much nicer places to spend your money around Whitley bay.

Went for birthday treat for breakfast. It was already busy inside as we arrived at 10am but agreed with staff to sit outside whilst awaiting a table indoors. We only waited approximately 10 mins and promptly ordered at the table inside. I had the chocolate and hazelnut French toast special and other half went for Eggs Benedict Porto. We both thought they were delicious and decent portion size. Lovely atmosphere were sure to be back.

Nice little cafe, pleasant staff but over £7 for an egg mayonnaise sandwich with a salad garnish was a bit pricey I thought. The sandwich was ok but just normal brown bread with a non too generous filling.

Have been to Carrot & Cake cafe numerous times with my friend Caroline , The food is amazing and the service is great Shirley's scones are something else Best scones I and Caroline have ever tasted . A fantastic little community cafe and where everyone one knows everyone. The staff care for the elderly visitors and this is refreshing to see They take time and are patient with the regulars oldies I would recommend highly The portions are huge and keep you filled all day If you go listen for Shirleys little stir and tinkle when she stirs the best cup tea in a mug!!
