Flour & Grape in Southwark

I have been wanting to visit this place after all the hypes about best pasta in town and so hard to get the table here. I ordered papardelle for myself and my friend chose Tortelloni. Tortelloni was so salty that i shared my pasta with my friend so that she can finish her food with some balance of salt. Then we decided to order Linguine hoping to taste better but then Linguine also turned out to be full of salt. Thank god we had some Montepulciano throughout oresle we couldnt have finished anything. I dont understand, how the chef in duty was cooking those tortelloni and linguine. Both of them were so salty. That is not acceptable and i am rating based purely on my first time experience. However we finished our very salty palette with tasty tiramisu at the end.

La comida era impresionante, albóndigas de carne y Burrata donde increíble, especialmente cuando se mezcla. Compartimos 3 pastas, como tapas de pasta o Stuzzichini como se llama. Tuvimos los ravioles de calabaza, Carbonara y marisco Linguini y con una botella de Gavi, Excelente cena, me encantó cada bocado y el ambiente era super ocupado y divertido. mesa para 2 es pequeña, así que es bastante desordenado si tienes algunos platos. Volveré.

La mejor comida italiana de la ciudad, pasta fresca y una gran selección para elegir en sus vinos. Mi plato favorito era la bruschetta sin duda un recomiendo

We had artichoke flower and prosciutto et melone for starters. They were not bad but not wow. However you should really stand up and applaud the Taglierini

Not 5 out of 5 purely because of the high demand for tables and my bad experience of their awful table reservation system. The dishes were delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly, making for a great dining experience once you have a table. However, the high demand for tables created for me some issues. The restaurant operates a system where you may request to receive a text when your table is ready i.e. so that you may wander down Bermondsey Street instead of standing in front of the restaurant for an hour. What resulted for me was the feeling that when texted I had limited time to arrive until my reservation was given up to the next in the queue. For me, this was quite stressful, as it then felt like a race against the clock to secure my table! When I arrived, it wasn’t clear that the queue outside consisted of people who had all been texted that their tables were ready. This led to confusion and, unfortunately, some tension with other diners who were also waiting. I inadvertently walked to the front of the queue to inform the front of house staff that I had arrived, which upset others who thought I was skipping the line. While the food and service were top-notch, the queuing system could use some improvement to avoid such misunderstandings and ensure a more relaxed experience for everyone. Despite this, I would still recommend Flour & Grape for its excellent cuisine and friendly staff.

We queued for around an hour via their app, then were given a 10 minute window during which they hold a table, and we spent most of that time in the actual physical queue at the door. Staff rolled their eyes when asked for tap water, we were rushed throughout and needed to order almost instantly, then plates were cleared away before we were finished. We were then explicitly told they needed the table back in 10 minutes and given the bill without asking for it. Food is decent but everything else was terrible; overall you feel like an inconvenience.

Wow, amazing food, incredible flavor at a hidden little gem. This is remarkably authentic Italian food, well prepared and delicious.

Absolutely delicious !!! I went with my husband and niece. We all loved our meals. The prosciutto and melon was a fantastic start. Then we each had a pasta. The tortelloni with roasted pork was incredible. The spaghetti carbonara style was rich and tasty. Everyone was a hit. The server was extremely nice and they kept our drinks full.

Really good food at Flour and Grape last night but just felt hassled the whole time. We were told as soon as we were taken to our table that we could only have it for 90 minutes and I have looked this morning and nowhere, that I can find on their website, does it say this. It felt like we had only just sat down and they wanted us to order. Five times we were asked for our order in a really, really short time period. Waitresses hovering the whole time, removing plates as soon as we had finished, and trying to top up the wine when the glasses were not nearly empty. This was a catch-up with two friends, one of which I have not seen since before Covid and this didn't turn out to be the evening we had planned. We were offered desserts and more drinks 15 minutes before our 90 minutes were up but were told we would have to move to the bar downstairs. I have eaten at F&G a few times but not experienced being rushed through our meal before. I don't suppose Flour & Grape will care about this review as there was a queue out the door but it is a shame that what they produce in the way of great food is marred by the fact they just want you in and out.

We recently visited Flour and Grape in Bermondsey and had an incredible dining experience. Despite not being able to book in advance, the wait time was short. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh handmade pasta that truly stood out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal in a cozy atmosphere.

Came for a family lunchtime meal. Lovely atmosphere. Amazing food - appetisers and mains. Very busy, even at 1230, and can see why! Will be returning.

Lovely little restaurant, recommended to me by a friend, I showed up knowing it was walk in only and they had a table till 8. We ordered a bottle of wine and a main each. I must say the mains are very small, I noticed many people ordered 2-3 to share but this was only recommended for the appetisers not the mains. Food was however delicious. Service, was not friendly. It was quick but too quick, I felt like an inconvenience. We were pressed 3 times to order desserts. The first time being at 19:10, then 19:23 then we gave in and ordered at 19:30 as the staff were hovering. It was not relaxing, we were told twice we need to vacate at 8pm. We were brought the bill, we did not ask for the bill. Then at 8pm the host comes up saying I have someone waiting for your table, you need to leave. But if it’s walk ins only why are there people waiting for this table when there’s 3 other tables available? The couple next to me emphasised how pushy/ rude they staff were. As leaving I waited for 5 mins in the foyer. No one sat at our table. No one was waiting upstairs or down. You need to remind your staff how to treat people in a faced past environment. I’d be mortified if my staff spoke to people like that.

Lovely food warm welcome and fairly priced . Good range wines by the glass . Warm atmosphere and nice staff . Service was not rushed

I have no words. Absolutely sublime. My daughter brought me here for birthday lunch and was so happy. Definitely recommend.

Considering we are Italians and almost never eat pasta outside of the home we were pleasantly surprised as how good and imaginative the pasta dishes were. We had noticed a lady actually making the pasta although I wouldn’t say 100% that all the pasta is made on the premises. A plus point you can bring your well behaved dog. Bertie loved it! Prices were very good along with food and excellent service . Will return!

By far my favourite pasta place in London. The food is incredible every single time and we have brought many friends since our first visit, everyone is always supper pleased! We have found it after a very disappointing trip to padella, who many claim to be their competition, but I would dab flour & grape wine hands down. The menu has more choice, the atmosphere and the interior are 100 times better and the food is out of this world.

I had wanted to come here for a while but had previously not been able to get a table until ridiculously late. My friend and I areived at 17.15 - 15 mins before it opened - and we managed to get a table straight away and the restaurant immediately filled up. Nevertheless, the food was excellent. We ordered 4 pasta dishes to share between the 2 of us so we could try lots of different types and as the portions are quite small, this was the perfect amount! The flavours were amazing and I particularly liked the Monkfish Linguine. I would definitely consider returning again but only if able to arrive at 17.15 as any later and your looking at a 1.5-2hr wait for a table as they don't accept bookings in advance.

Amazing food and pleasant experience, but found the service very quick and service comments a bit crass after a simple misunderstanding between what was ordered versus what was billed. Will come back but not right away.

Very good costumer service. The food was so good and came quick, about 5 minuttes. You can look in the kitchen and the pasta was handmade. But it was really crowded and hot inside.

Excellent! I'm a local and have been coming here since it was called Antico. Every visit has been excellent, with great service, and the staff is always professional and friendly. The pasta is wonderful, please bring back Fazzoletti! We ordered four kinds of pasta, starters, and the coffee walnut cake - all excellent and very good value. This is a fantastic spot with your friends or solo sit at the bar. Friends visit and they come here a few times during their stay, arrive early to get your table.

This place had been on my list for a very long time as lots of my friends had been after work. Unfortunately the only way to go is by queuing on an app, where you need to be very smart about it and queue at around 5:15pm; we only got on at 5:30 and ended up getting a table around 8:30... which is ok, because the food was amazing!! we ordered and shared three mains between the two of us, which i would recommend to experience the most of the great food at decent prices. On the plus side, we had a nice time at the bar downstairs when waiting for our table which had a nice ambience

I accidentally found this gem in 2018 and had one of the best pasta meals from about anywhere in the world. Now back in London and this is THE place to eat. The freshest pasta made in house daily with the freshest organic ingredients and best quality meats. Every dish on the limited menu is perfect. Loaded with savory herbs, your mouth will sing and your lips will tingle with every bite. No kidding, you’ll love this place. No reservations. So go early at 5:30 pm or use the dojo app to queue but the next tables won’t open until about 7, make sure you’re in the queue. To make the wait exciting, there is a most awesome speakeasy bar downstairs that had incredible cocktail masters with fresh and unique drinks. You kinda want to have to wait for upstairs just to make time to visit the cocktail lounge downstairs. Perfect Pairings.

Recommended this place by a friend in London. The restaurant was absolutely heaving on a Tuesday night at 6pm! We had to wait an hour for our table, so went to the bar in the basement. Service was prompt when we got our table. Seating as a little tight, we shared a long table with another couple. Was difficult to converse in the restaurant given the noise levels, but the pasta was absolutely delicious and good value for London. Would definitely recommend coming here for a meal if you're in the vicinity of Bermondsey/London Bridge.

Oh my god. I have been wanting to come here for SO long, and I am so happy to say that it is worth the trip!! The food was insane, we had the roasted pumpkin and the bruschetta starter - both absolutely delicious. We then went on to having the monk fish and ravioli pasta, literally unreal. Our waitress Olivia recommended the dishes, and was overall such a lovely add to our evening! Couldn’t recommend more x

Great ambience and atmosphere, simple but tasteful decor. All the food was tasty and delicious. Highly recommend the artichoke flower with miso sauce which was fantastic.

arrived at 6pm (30 mins after opening) and it was already packed but we got a table straight away as there was only 2 of us. we ordered cocktails, 2 starters and 2 pastas and it was £26pp so very happy. the blackberry gimlet is sour but a nice cocktail. the assorted bread had a focaccia with caramelised onions which was so delicious. the bruschetta was also super lovely but on the small side if i were to nit pick. we received our starters 5 mins after ordering, so although it was packed, the service was super quick. the pork shoulder tortelloni with sage butter looks deceptively small when it arrives but it is decently filling. we had the table for 1.5hrs and they were very quick to give u the bill at the end of the 1.5hrs. we headed to the bar downstairs for drinks after and it was a nice little bar.

Went out for dinner at flour and grape as a group of 5 and had a terrible experience. After joining the online queue at 5:30 when it opened, we waited until 9pm to get in and then eventually got served after more waiting. It seems that if you wait outside, flirt with the waiter and buy a drink downstairs then you get the jump the queue. Why go through all this just for some pasta and just as much waiting inside a noisy cramped restaurant? The pasta was good but overall a disappointing experience considering the hype around this place. The entire idea of the restaurant felt so arrogant to the point where we didn’t feel welcome as customers. Maybe if they want to remain an attractive destination then they should at least bother to try a booking system or be open for longer. Maybe going for lunch will be easier. Good food though.
