Flour & Bean in Broadland

There is plenty of competition in Aylsham for good bread, rolls and cakes but this is still our go to bakers. The quality and value is excellent and the staff are always very helpful ( happy to put rolls aside for me to collect later). I would recommend the cheese straws and rolls but the cakes are delicious too.

What a gift if a shop! Iv lived in Aylsham a long time and previously used this shop in the past, I went in recently and oh my! It’s an Aladdins cave of deliciousness, the bread is delicious and they offer a selection of hot food. A variety of drinks and the ready made rolls etc look amazing. The staff are very helpful and efficient. And what can we say about the cakes, the best Belgian buns around only problem is, I think I’m addicted to them, simply delicious and so fresh and soft. Now Iv found you I will be using you more. It’s a pity you don’t open earlier so that I could treat my friends at work, never mind they will have to buy their own! Do you do any gluten free bakes at all?

We went into Flour And Bean after trying two other eating places very nearby and walking out because the vegan/vegetarian options were dreadful. As soon as we walked in we saw vegan sausage rolls, vegan pasties and a selection of vegan pastries and cakes. The staff were just lovely - friendly and efficient - and the food was very tasty - the sausage rolls especially went down very well indeed. Honestly, we weren’t expecting much when we went in as it is a food chain, so the food and staff were a very pleasant surprise. It is a very small place to eat, but the staff put their heart into their work and it shows,

A brief visit to aylsham brought us past the shop with the smell of hot pasty and pies drifting out onto the street . It was something i could not ignore !! So a hot cornish pasty it was very tasty and was eaten on the returnl journey on the bure heritage railway !!!

Good hot chocolate and coffee and a nice selection of baked goods. Situated in a great place in the town centre, easy to access.

Popped in for a bit to eat on a Saturday lunchtime - we both had the chicken, bacon and leak Cornish pasty which was excellent. Friendly service

Website says 4pm closure. Got there at 3:05 and closed. In this day and age update the technology at least to inform customers correctly

We came to Aylsham on the Bure Valley Railway from Wroxham and had been wandering around for a couple of hours. A seat in the market place became free and my wife fetched drinks and a Norfolk Shortbread from here. The cake was good and my wife said that she'd received the best most friendly service since lockdown began.

Couldn't find anywhere to go for light lunch as busy so stopped and bought a freshly made sandwich, I had prawn and cucumber, hubby had tuna well filled delicious could have them made to your specific request I had a coffee therefore could get a meal deal where by choice of cake or crisps. Chose a chocolate amazing cake. Found a bench in the sun to eat it. Lady who served us was pleasant and helpful. Which this was local

Very rude lady behind the counter spoke to us all like children £3.30 for a pasty but very rude will not return.

We have eaten breakfast here many times, as well as buying rolls, cakes and sausage rolls. The standard is consistently high.Good for hot drinks too.

We had a light lunch here on our first day in Aylsham and were warmly welcomed by the young lady running the bakers/tea room. Good choice of savoury and sweet foods, well priced and a decent cup of tea. The young lady was friendly and helpful with our choices. The sandwiches freshly made and the pasties hot and tasty.

Lovely little place. Good choice of snacks and cakes. Varied dri ks menu. Pleasant staff. However, extremely disappointed with the state of tables and floor... Only about 4 tables and none had been cleaned. We had to wipe our own. Not really what I expected to do......

Lovely bread. Helpful staff. Go every week to get our supplies. Alwyas obliging and if anything is wrong they instantly investigate.

Had 2 lattes a cheese and onion slice and a steak slice £12.85. very pricey. Also tables and floor needed cleaning. There was a lot of flies around the eating area.

Had a fab visit with my other half to Flour & Bean - in fact 3 visits this year when we travel to North Norfolk we always stop off. A great environment, always busy with friendly, warm staff and an amazing range of food and drinks. Extremely accommodating and they always have exactly what we are looking for.

really enjoyed my time here, excellent staff super helpful and friendly!! really nice selection of food which was excellent quality and the whole place has a very chill vibe which was what me and my friends were looking for. I am veggie and there was a lot of good options for me.

My friend is dairy intolerant, we asked before we got food and they confirmed yes they have food that contains no dairy. We sat down and eat, less than 10 minutes after we left my friend was very poorly afterwards.

I only popped in for an early morning coffee and a bite to eat as I was travelling through Aylsham. The coffee was superb, like really good coffee and leagues above the big chains. I think I had a pasty which was also good. Recommended.

Very friendly welcome. Lovely coffee and 2 rolls made to order. Pricey for a cafe . 2 clean tables and 2 dirty tables

Both members of staff on Saturday were miserable & rude, as a customer I was as a total inconvinience, Ionly wanted a tuna roll on white bread.Ridiculous.

I asked for a vegan friendly sandwich - it isn't hard, I am easily pleased and happy with a nice salad. However, this was obviously too difficult for the staff here. After finally agreeing to make something up fresh for me, they pulled out what looked like a cheap white sliced loaf. I asked if that was all they had (despite seeing lovely sourdoughs on the shelf). I was told it was, so I promptly told them not to bother.

Overpriced, soggy and flavourless panini. All I could taste was dough. I could have cooked better myself

They made me shout my order from outside the shop as I had a chihuahua in my arms and then they had no dairy free alternative to milk so I went away embarrassed and thirsty. Poor.

We wandered into the town of Aylsham while we waited for the train back to Wroxham,me,my wife and son popped in to have something to eat I had a lemon chicken sandwich my wife had cheese sandwich and our son had a bakwell slice,two coffees and a tap water we were charged £15.40 and when we added it up we had been overcharged by over £2,upon querying it we were told it was more to eat in,usually both eat in and takeaway prices are displayed,the sandwiches tasted a little stale and rather than go up and complain again we got up and went.that evening we got two adult fish and chips and a children's fish and chips from Wroxham and it was only £1.60 more.

Mi esposa y yo tomamos un café y un sándwich en el 20 de mayo. nos cobraron más de £12 para cafés y 2. sándwiches .2. Como estábamos terminando la comida nos dimos cuenta en la lista de precios, los cafés eran libras 1,75 2,80 libras y los bocadillos, que total £9.10. Sobre la consulta de la factura nos dijeron que el exceso fue de 20% extra para comer y lavar! (a propósito, esto es más de 20%). Nunca nos han cobrado este exceso de antes. Si estás tentado a visitar el pueblo aconsejaría ir a otro lugar para refrigerios.

Paré aquí para una bebida mientras en Aylsham. No era demasiado cómodo pero era práctico. La cafetería tenía un ambiente encantador, muy cálido y amable. La única cosa que yo diría que es el piso estaba bastante sucio - migas por todas partes. A raíz de un montón de gente disfrutando sus pasteles, supongo. Volveremos en el futuro.

Amazing - no EPIC!! That's the word to describe Flour & Bean! They have a main location in Norwich which does all the baking every day from scratch! Their croissant and just as good as those in Paris! I was here on Friday, and had the best sausage roll EVER!! The pastry was flakey and light as air. The sausage was pork & apple - YUMMY. And my latte was perfect. If you see one of these Flour & Bean cafe/bakeries, DON'T PASS BY WITHOUT GOING IN AND EATING!!!
